McKennas POV
"You are just perfect, you really brought the energy up out there" Neale said as he massaged my shoulders off stage. I was currently in Miami, Florida doing my little tour. Leo was away in Japan and was due to return to LA within the next 48hrs or so. I wish that was that plan for me but nope, I still had a couple of weeks left of my tour then was set to return back to Miami for another couple of weeks for interviews and shoots for my music videos.
"Excuse me Kenna, I've got someone on the phone for you" Matt waltz in. I grabbed the phone
"Hello?"
"Hey babe" I lit up. I haven't been able to speak to Leo that much due to the huge time difference. When I'm starting my day Leo's ending his. It was just hard to trying to keep up.
"How'd the gig go? I'm so sorry I wasn't able to watch it live, I just got back from dinner with James" I looked up at Neale then scanned the room
"Alright people give the pop star some space" I heard Neale yell out, I gave him an appreciative smile and was returned a nod as everyone scurried out of the room
"Kenna you there?" I hear Leo say on the phone
"Sorry, everyone's just left" I giggled "the set went really well, I think they may love me" I teased
"I'm not surprised, you probably have guys falling to your feet left right and centre" he sighed
"Actually this one guy tried getting on stage but the security managed to get to him before he could" the call went silent for a second as I flicked my hair out of my sweaty face
"I miss you so much" Leo said softly causing my heart to ache. I think we underestimated how hard long distance really was
"I miss you too Leo, but hey give it a month and we'll be back together again yeah?"
"About that Kenna.."
"I'm listening"
"I accepted a role for a new movie" I froze and a expression of worry washed my face
"Oh ok...where are you filming?"
"It's in France..." I hit my lift and slumped back into my chair. We were set to look at a condo in New York when we finally had time together but if he has to leave for filming again then I guess that plan was out the window
"I guess I could come visit you when I can...when do you leave?"
"In month... I'm sorry babe. I read the script and it really interested me. I just didn't think it would be so soon...I know we were planning to move to New York"
"Don't apologise Leo, we'll get to it when we can" I sighed
"Soon Kenna I promise" I hear him say in frustration
"How's Japan anyway? I've always wanted to go"
"It's so cool you would love it. I've done some interviews but literally everything I do or say amuses them it's crazy"
"You are pretty amusing" I giggled
"Oh aren't I just"
We stayed on the phone for at least an hour before Neale walked in
"You ready to go? The the crowd has pretty much vacated the area now, so you should be ok to go" Neale explained I quickly nodded
"Hey, I've got to go, and you should get some rest. What is it midnight or something over there" I say getting up to pop my stuff into a bag
"Nope it's around 4am, but yeah I'll talk to you soon...oh wait real quick were you able to get a day off to fly into New York for my premiere next week?" I froze and dropped my bag
"Shit" I muttered under my breath. I've been so busy I didn't even realise the premiere crept up so quickly
"Huh?"
"Sorry I should be able to sort something out"
"It's ok if you can't I know you've got stuff on so I understand"
"No no, it should be fine I don't want to miss it" I pouted
"Ok just let me know, bye Kenna"
"Leo"
"Yeah?"
"I love you" I smiled
"I love you too" he chuckled and after a little pause I hung up the phone and sighed.
Leo's POV
I stared up at the buildings as we drive across New York City. I was currently back here for the titanic premiere. Just mom and myself must I add. Kate ended up getting really sick and after visiting her yesterday there was just no way she was going to be able to get into a plane and make it through the night. Kenna on the other hand got held up on tour. Which yes was disappointing but she was out there chasing her dreams which is more than I ever wanted for her.
After the crazy night I sat on my hotel bed staring out to the view of the city lights. I could see myself moving out here with Kenna. I'd do it right now if I didn't have to leave for France in a couple of weeks. If only our schedules didn't become such a hot mess. It made me wonder if this what the future had laid out for us if we were to make it in the future. I couldn't stand having to do this for the rest of our lives but I'm so certain that Kenna is in my future no matter what.
*ring ring*
I picked up my phone to see it was Kenna
"Hey baby girl!"
"Baby girl? That's a new one" I hear her giggle. If only I could see her smile right now.
"So how was it? How was the premiere?! I'm so so-"
"Kenna it's honestly ok but I hate to say it you missed out on a huge opportunity to meet someone" I smirked as I reminisced my night
"Please don't tell me"
"Alright" a lengthy pause came from her end
"Who was it Leo"
"Think royal" I chuckled. I could just imagine her frowning, staring into space as her mind raced
"Royal?"
"Prince charles"
"What?! That's amazing Leo no way. Did you talk to him?" I smiled at her excitement
"Yup, he came up to myself and mom and introduced himself and even sat next to me!"
"Wow look at you, I'm so proud of you"
"Same to you my girl, who knows maybe when we have the golden globes you'll be able to meet some special people"
"But royalty Leo royalty that's mental, I just can't I'm so happy for you....but about the golden globes" I paused and sighed while licking my lips. I knew what she was going to say and I could feel the disappointment starting to set in
"You can't make it?" I said softly
"I'm so sorry babe, I have this small set on Britney Spears tour, I tried to cancel but Neale refuses"
"Britney spears huh? That's huge Kenna"
"It is but I'm not even looking forward to it because I was going to see you, and now I can't" I hear the hurt in her voice
"It's ok Kenna, you can't miss out on a opportunity like this you really can't"
"I know but" I could hear her sniffing in the other side, It hurt me to hear her like this. I knew she had so much on her plate, she was away from home and I could just tell she was missing me, missing us, just as much I do.
We spent hours chatting on the phone, well me go in and on about the premiere. I loved talking to her but not being able to see her or hold her physically was slowly killing me.
McKennas POV
I laid in night not being able to sleep once again. Ever since Leo and I had to part ways again I haven't been able to fall asleep because we were literally sleeping together every night. I looked at my tv and pondered. Should I watch the titanic? To pass time? But then I might be up later because I'm genuinely curious on how the movie turned out.
I popped up and picked up the vhs that sat in my suitcase. Lucky for me, my dad was able to send out a copy of the film for me to watch. I think it's about time for me to watch it anyway.
My eyes couldn't peel away from the movie once. It was so captivating for a love story. Or maybe because it's the first time in months I was actually able to see Leo, even if was in movie form. The one scene I was in came on. It made my heart flutter and got me all giddy when remembering the day we filmed it. It was the very day Leo asked to take me on the very date he made us official. It made me sadder to think I could of been seeing him tomorrow at the golden globes. He's been nominated for best actor. I wanted to be there I really did but work was restricting me.
I'd be lying if I said the love scenes with Leo and Kate didn't bother me. They're chemistry really made the film and I hated it. What I hated most is I asked, well begged Kate to be Leo's date to the event because I didn't want Leo going by himself. But I don't think I can even watch the event live if they went together. I'm just so annoyed at everything right now. When the ending came I practically drowned myself in tears. When rose had to let go jack really got to me, plus it was as if Leo died. I didn't have any sense of comfort that it was all in fact fake, usually Leo would be able to pull me out of it but he wasn't here, nor could I call him due to the time difference.
The next day I showed up to the location. I wore a mini skirt with sock boots and a tiny crop, almost like a bra. Due to working out so much I was able to tone my body more making me more comfortable to be seen in such clothing. Britney came up to me and talked to me, but I answered quite blankly due to having Leo on my mind.
"You ok girl?" She questioned, pulling me away from the crew. I was just lucky this wasn't my first time meeting her and to be honest got quite close after a few get together the last couple of months
"Yeah I'm ok, just got a lot on my mind?" I forced a small smile, but I knew my eyes were saying otherwise
"Did Leonardo do something?" She questioned in worry, I simply shook my head
"More me, Leo has the golden globe event tonight but I couldn't make it"
"Oh" she nodded and smiled
"It's ok, your set will only be for an hour, and then you can watch it live right?"
"Thanks" I smiled
Miraculously, despite my current mood I was able to put on a good show, going through my song and choreography and somehow managing to amp up the crowd. I ran off stage once the hour was up, having Britney leap onto me and scream
"I knew you'd be perfect to open the show, I love you so much you really know how to out in a show" she cheered. I laughed and thanked her
"Neales waiting for you inside your van, I'll speak to you soon" she winked before running on stage for her show. That was weird. I slowly trudged to my trailer before opening up the door to my trailer and untangling the headset from my head. I walked in to see my belongings all in my bag and Neale leaning against my suitcase. I stopped in my tracks
"Are we going somewhere?" I questioned. It was quite odd that some of my luggage was even here, I had an after party to go to after the concert
"Kenna, I've got a plane waiting for you at the airport"
"Ok cool, have I got a show or something" I questioned brushing through my hair and walking over to my water bottle
"No you're going to Beverly Hills, Britney spoke to me about how your missing the awards show that Leonardo is attending. You've done more than enough lately I think you deserve a night with the man" I paused and looked over at Neale who nodded to his words. My face immediately lit up
"Wait are you serious" I questioned but then started to panic that I didn't have anything to wear to the event. "I can't even go, I don't even have anything to wear"
"See Britney thought ahead and she gave me this for you to wear" Neale brought up the bag and unzipped it to reveal a long red backless ball gown type dress "and don't worry she's given you one of her makeup team to do your make up on the plane"
I ran up to Neale and hugged him. He didn't know what to do but simply pat my back
"You better get going, you'll just make it to the location before it starts" I nodded and grabbed my luggage and sprinted to my lift just outside trailer.
This was really happening I'm finally seeing Leo.
