In the glamorous building, Faye was playing checkers with her grandfather as she was making her move. She had informed Dave that she will not be attending work.

"So, how have you been lately? You haven't been visiting me," her grandfather said while thinking about his next moves. Faye casually said, "Nothing much." Faye's grandfather leaned back and looked at her. He analyzed her and felt something was a little off today, but he couldn't pinpoint it. She stopped her movement before looking up at her grandfather. "What are you looking at?" she said.

"Nothing," he said before going back to the game.

A couple of minutes later, her grandfather won the game, "It's not like you today. I haven't beaten you in a game since a long time ago. What's the matter with you?" her grandfather said.

"Nothing," Faye answered quickly as he looked at her deeply. "Since the game is over, I'll be leaving," Faye stood up from the seat.

"I heard that you are working at Lon Company for a month," he said before she could leave. She didn't say anything and stood there without moving. "How is it?" He continued to talk and not letting her escape. "Nothing much," she finally answered. He noticed how antsy she was and understood what Robert was saying. He smiled before saying, "Alright. Do you want me to send you off?" She felt something was odd with her grandfather, but she didn't want to go in-depth with it, so she said, "That won't be necessary. I'll see you later."

As Faye was leaving her grandfather's building, Parker saw her leaving the building as he was about to enter the building because he was going to pitch his new project to Faye's grandfather.

Faye was about to enter her car before a hand grabbed her wrist. "Faye?" Parker called out, stopping her from leaving. Faye immediately pulled her wrist away from him as it surprised him. Her crystal clear eyes coldly stare at him, unmoved. "Faye, it's me, Parker? Do you remember me?" Parker stuttered as he was mesmerized by her. She didn't say anything and stared at him. She remembered how much she used to love him with all her heart, but was so blinded that she didn't realize how much he used her and didn't have an ounce of feeling for her. Since he could easily throw her away as it left no impact on him.

"We are engaged. I'm your fiance," Parker was trying to say.

"I think it's better to cancel our engagement. We haven't seen each other for five years. There's no point in denying it, but we have no feelings for each other. So, let's not drag this along. You and Rin are matched with each other. Let's not meet each other again," Faye said coldly and not wanting to have anything to do with him anymore as she could hear the words that Leo had spoken to her about not letting her past control her and facing it.

Parker was speechless, as he couldn't tell who this person was anymore. It was like she was no longer the Faye he knew before, leaving him not knowing what to say. "Well, excuse me," she said and entered the car before driving off. Parker stood there, stunned. He never realized how clear her eyes were. She was no longer the dull person he once knew. She looked stunning but cold. However, for some reason, he could see within her eyes, she had a dark hidden resentment against him.

In the midst of Parker standing there in dazzle, a black car was slowly driving away after Faye's red car as the person in black had finished taking a picture of Parker and Faye together. "We have finally spotted her," the person in black clothes said on the phone.

"Good. Continue to tail her," said the person on the phone as that person was Rin.

--

Rin hangs up the call before smiling. "Finally," she said, super pleased. She can find dirt on Faye and expose her flaws to the whole world. She couldn't wait to rip Faye's face off and show everyone how pathetic Faye truly is.

---

Faye pulled up at Janine's coffee shop. "Hey, Faye. I haven't seen you in a while," Janine said as she saw Faye enter the shop. Faye was not in a chatty mood as she shrugged her shoulders before she sat down. "Why are you here today? Don't you work today at Lon Company?" Janine asks and sets down a drink in front of Faye.

"Wasn't feeling up to it," Faye said, ignoring the real question she was feeling. Janine tilted her head and looked at her worried. "Hey, what's up with you? You seem like you have a lot on your mind," Janine said, concerned.

"I think you are seeing things," Faye brushed it off, so Janine didn't bring it up again since she knew that once Faye didn't want to talk about it, then it was best to not bring it up. "Oh, Faye! I just remember," Janine said, changing the subject. "Can you drive me to the New Light Company? I have an order there, but my delivery person can't make it in time because he is stuck in traffic due to an accident on the road. And, I need you to help me keep me in line!" Janine said as the New Light Company was the entertainment industry with singers and actors working there, she was afraid she might meet her favorite actors or singers and turn into a fangirl, so she hoped Faye could help her keep her in control. However, Janine was hoping she can help Faye get her mind off whatever she is distressed about.

"Why can't you have one of your workers do it instead?" Faye said. "I can't, none of them know how to drive," Janine said as Elle was making a latte while Daniel had not arrived since he was still in school as he was only a part-timer.

"Fine," Faye agreed. "Thank you, my friend. Alright, let's go," Janine said with all four drink carriers presented in front of Faye. "You need to hire another delivery person," Faye said, getting up. "Yeah, I'm trying, but I haven't found anyone yet," Janine responded.

Soon, Janine and Faye enter the New Light entertainment building. It didn't take long to find the buyer and finish the delivery as Janine and Faye were in the elevator, waiting to leave the company. The elevator doors opened, and Faye and Janine exited the elevator. At that moment, Lake was about to enter the elevator when he caught a glimpse of the side of Faye's face. He stopped himself from entering the elevator and hurried after them. He caught Faye's wrist before hurriedly saying, "Hey!"

Both Faye and Janine had locked eyes on Lake. "It's you," Faye said. Lake didn't know why he was stopping her, as if his body moved on its own. When he realized it, he was holding onto Faye's wrist. "Umm," He didn't know what to say and let go of her wrist.

"Did you receive your jacket?" Faye asks. "Ah.. yeah," he said, awkwardly.

"Do you two know each other?" Janine asks as she looks at both Faye and Lake. "Wait, you are... Lake!" Janine realized it.

"Ah, yes. It's nice to meet you," Lake introduces himself to Janine. "Wow, I really like your music," Janine said, and she was slowly turning into a fangirl. "Can I get an autograph?" Janine asked.

"Yeah, sure," Lake said, but Faye intervened. "That won't be necessary. We have to go," she stopped their action by putting herself between Lake and Janine and putting her arm out to stop Janine from getting any closer to Lake.

"Aww, Faye. Come on," Janine tries to persuade Faye. "Do you want to keep Elle waiting for us?" Faye said.

"Oh yeah...," Janine said, slightly disappointed. "It was nice to meet you, though," Janine added.

"Well, we can take a quick photo," Lake said. "Really? Okay!" Janine said and hurried to take her phone out. "Come on, Faye. You have to be in the photo too," Janine said, dragging Faye closer to Lake. "Ready? 1, 2, 3," Janine said as Janine and Lake smiled before she took a photo of all three of them together. Once they finished taking the photo, Lake was quietly looking at Faye again before Janine said, "Thank you."

"No problem," Lake said. "Well, we should better get going. Thank you again," Janine said as Faye just nodded her head to Lake while Lake looked at her. It looked like he wanted to say something to her, but said goodbye instead. He watched them leave. He scratched his head as if he was frustrated with himself before his phone rang. "Where are you? You are late?" his manager said.

"How did you two know each other?" Janine asked as they were exiting the building. Before Faye could speak, loud noises were behind them. "Stop right there!" a security guard shouted as two security guards were chasing a man with a camera. The reporter quickly shoved both Janine and Faye out of the way to escape the security guards. Faye's body slammed against the glass door before she landed funny on her arm when she fell to the ground, and she groaned in pain. "Faye, are you okay?" Janine said as she was lucky enough that she caught herself from falling and only bumped her arm against the door frame. One of the security guards stopped to help Faye and Janine while the other one tried to chase after the reporter. Faye got up with the help of Janine and the security guard. "Are you okay?" asked the security guard. "Yes," Faye said as she moved her arm and immediately groaned in pain.

"Faye," Janine said, super worried. "Let's go to the hospital," Janine said, helping her.

"No, it's fine" Faye tried to say before groaning in pain again as she moved on her arm. "Come on. Stop being stubborn," Janine said as they headed to the hospital.
