Path Left Behind

I walk along this never-ending path,
Hoping to leave everything bad in the past.
I walked through different patterns
And continue to walk through the new ones being scattered.

Attempting to forget what I shouldn't remember,
I continue to pass by the very things that make me an ember.
I try my best to avoid everything.
For if you saw the things on this path that I lead,
There would be things you wish you wouldn't have seen.
Regardless, though, I still try to be merry
Even if these struggles of mine vary.
