Ivy Myung learned to accept the small victories. She allowed herself to be happy for the private gestures Rob gave her. So she never expected him to rent a private plane and surprise her with a trip to Italy. Ivy most certainly didn't expect him to take her to a vineyard, days into their holiday, where he professed his love for her. At least, that's how she interrupted it.
"No, no, you need to sniff it first." He smiled and gently took her wrist in his hand, helping her shake the glass of wine lightly.
"This is so dumb. You're just trying to mess with me." Ivy attempted to conceal her smile, but the corners of her mouth couldn't help but turn upwards.
"I'm not. I promise, try it," Rob watched as she went to smell inside the glass. "Don't put your whole nose inside, you goof! Just let it linger near the brim."
"Where the fuck did you learn this shit? In your thirty-five years of life, you've made one grilled cheese, yet know all about the art of winery? You amaze me every day."
"I want to eat you alive."
"You're so fucking strange."
"I want to climb under your skin."
"I'm greatly concerned for you."
"I don't want this to end." He said simply. He said it like he knew something she didn't. Ivy hated that feeling.
"What? Us?" Her voice shook a natural response, in her opinion.
"No! No. I mean this as in this moment. I want to stay here with you in this beautiful chateau, with you so close to me, wearing that divine sundress. I want to consume your very being, to preserve this moment."
"Stop being so sappy," She turned her watery eyed face away from him as she smiled in relief.
"Ivy, I feel so seen with you."
"Yeah, yeah." She laughed and tried to brush off his comment, but his hand pulled at her chin, so their eyes met.
"No, I mean it. I'm at my best with you. You coming into my life changed life itself for me. You're my home. I mean it. Believe me when I say that, please."
That was the high of their trip. But, of course, Rob didn't discuss it further once the article came out.

A close friend of Myung's posted a series of photos from the celebration the Sunday after, but traction didn't hit the post until days later. It has since been deleted, but not before thousands of people uploaded the image to various social media platforms.

oh my god long time no see...i know I'M SORRY
let me start off by saying, yeah, i completely changed the fic outline. i was supposed to make a whole long chapter about ivy's birthday and it was going to be chapter 50 but i'm sorry, i don't care as much about the trip anymore, now that i pretty much have most of the fic written. it just didn't seem as big as i planned it, so i cut it down to the almost i love you scene. because that will play a big part in the future. remember the word "chateau" btw
