Yoongi had been waiting outside in the waiting hall for Jimin's checkup to be done.
After they hugged emotionally, the doctor soon entered the room and requested Yoongi to leave. He wasn't bothered. He was calling with Hoseok after seeing 12+ texts from the younger going from lowercase to all caps.
"ahh so how is he now?" Hoseok asked.
"the nurse said he is stable. They are examining him now, I will know more later."
"That's good, keep me updated, yea!?" hoseok didn't want to be ghosted again. He was worried too, he wants to be friends with Jimin.
"yea yea, i will. Oh, I think I gotta hang. Jimin's friend is here" Yoongi said when he saw Jungkook enter the hospital, approaching the front desk.
"ah, alright. Talk to you later then"
"byee '' Yoongi ended the call and waved at Jungkook who was told to wait in the hall until Jimin was back for visitors.
"hai!" Jungkook said cheerfully, he recognized Yoongi. "you're here too"
"yea" Yoongi smiled. He has never really spoken with Jungkook before. The younger looked like a happy kid.
"so, you're Yoongi hyung" jungkook sat down next to him and turned his body so they could talk.
"yes, you must be Jungkook. Jimin tells me a lot about you."
"same with you, its good to finally get to talk to you like this. A bit sad seeing the situation...." Jungkook's smile faded. "but, i'm glad he is awake"
"Jimin told me it had happened before, it's not your first time here like this isnt it?" Yoongi was just being curious.
"no, sadly not. Jimin had never been this sensitive to overwhelming things. But as the time went by it got worse. The first time he got offered a surgery to make his blood flow better. Which was sadly not successful. Jimin came out without any complications, but it did not help. The flow went back to its old self after a short while. And his attacks got more dangerous, the last time he was out for half a day. That was so stressful, the doctors feared he would fall into a complete coma.'' Jungkook said. "just like now..."
"I see...It must be hard for you as friends too. He sees you as his family." yoongi felt at ease talking to Jungkook. He was actually really calm compared to the wild stories Jimin tells him. But what he did see that was similar, was his care towards Jimin.
"it is, I wish surgery would have helped. He had it two times now. Both times without any success..... The doctors refused to make him undergo another. It is too risky, there is a high risk Jimin would die during the open operation. His heart is very weak already..." Jungkook sighed. "we just got to do it like this i think..."
"I see..... I'm glad he is still here" Yoongi said and sighed too. He wasn't sure what to say. He got to know more and more each day. Jimin had a lot to himself he still had yet to learn. And he hoped they would have time to talk about it all.
"Me too....Taehyung would be devastated...I don't think Taehyung would take it well if he were to...You know" Jungkook shrugged, not wanting to say the word out loud.
"Taehyung is his best friend right?"
"yes. They are each other's soulmate, as they like to tall it. I admire their close friendship. And, I love taehyung dearly. And I know he is quite a sensitive person, if ajimin were to...Die... I'm afraid he will change. I don't know what he will do but i worry for that.'' Jungkook said. He never really spoke to anyone about this. But he really was worried for the way Taehyung would react if Jimin were to pass away"
"I can understand that" yoongi felt bad for everyone. He could see how Jimin's health was affecting everyone close to him. Yoongi really could only hope things will get better...
"mr.Min" the familiar nurse appeared in the hall.
"yes" yoongi stood up, and so did Jungkook.
"Jimin is ready to see you again. Oh I see his other friend is here now too. You can come along too" she smiled and took the two boys to Jimin's room. Letting them enter before going back to her other tasks.
Inside the room Jungkook took a chair and sat down next to yoongi. Both next to the bed facing Jimin.
"kookie!" Jimin smiled happy. "I'm so happy to see you" he moved up but felt too weak to get out of bed. Jungkook noticed and stood up hugging his friend.
"Me too, Jimin. How are you now?"
"i'm alright, I think. The doctor ...Tell me much yet" Jimin said and glanced at Yoongi. When he saw the older was already looking at him he mentally cursed himself for glancing.
Because this single glance was enough to tell yoongi that Jimin was lying again.
"sorry...I....Do know some things" Jimin corrected himself. He doesn't want to lie to everyone, especially not after he said he wasn't going to hide things anymore.
"like...What?" Jungkook asked, a little worried.
"they well....I.... I don't want to say this but...It's bad" Jimin said. "its really bad."
"Jimin, what are you talking about? Explain more?!" Jungkook wanted answers, now. He doesn't like these vague words leaving him to think the worst. He wants to hear it from Jimin.
"t-the bad blood flow is making my limbs work less than normal. They suggest that I... Not move unnecessary to prevent making my heart get overwhelmed again. And...You know '' Jimin looked down.
"but..." Jungkook was silent. "Does Taehyung know?"
"i...Dont think so" Jimin said softly. He felt bad for not immediately calling Taehyung. He just couldn't do it. He cant hear his best friend hurt, jimin just can't do it.
"I understand, but he will be coming here...You know that right?" Jungkook moved his chair closer. "he was going to take the first flight he could back home. I don't know when he will get here but he will, as soon his presentations are over"
"I know" Jimin teared up. "Why is this so hard..."
The two were having a deep conversation, Taehyung and Jimin were the main topic. Fortunately for the three no one shed a tear this time. They all held on the whole time.
When they got interrupted by a knock on the door. To their surprise the nurse walked in with a doctor. A very familiar doctor to Jimin, but unknown to Yoongi.
"mr.Park" the doctor said. "we would like to talk to you. In private"
"oh..."
"i see, will we...Get to hear it later?" Jungkook asked, he doesn't want more to worry about.
"we can't say for certain. For now we would like to request you to end your visit. This will take a while." the doctor bowed to apologize. "im sorry for the interruption of your time"
"its Alright" Yoongi stood up and Jungkook nodded in agreement.
"a shame you have to go so quickly.. I really missed all of you for more than a day.... Its strange.'' Jimin spread his arms and they all shared a hug saying goodbye.
"We will see eachother soon."
"You better, I think i'm gonna be on bed arrest for a while," Jimin chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
The doctor and nurse waited for the two to leave the room before approaching Jimin. They took a seat on the two empty chairs. "mr.Park, the doctors have been studying your current condition and heart activity. They came to one final option for a possible recovery..." the nurse started.
"really?" Jimin was surprised.
"they have agreed on an open surgery to completely replace the heart."
"a...Transplant?"
"Yes, but we are uncertain of its success. Currently they see the changes low. But there is one." the doctor took over. "we want to discuss the possibilities with you. We have a potential donor heart. So we don't have a lot of time" The doctor wanted to end it there but decided to add some more information. "if you decline it right now, we don't know when there will be another donor which might be suitable for you. And your condition might change the outcome. So please think about this well."
"i...See," Jimin said. So many things to think about right now. But such little time.
