"fuck this shit," Adalyn muttered while hanging up the call which she thought was going to be her boyfriend but instead was the girl on tour with him.
She chucked her phone across her bedroom as she got up from her bed, pissed off that she spent all that time looking through social media for live updates on the Why Don't We Sweden concert as she waited to talk to Jack.
She was excited to tell him things she had brought and everything she had been up to within only the few hours of the day she had experience so far, but all of that was quickly washed away within seconds of Kenzie talking instead of him.
Not wanting to dwell on the sad, she made her way out to the kitchen, lifting herself up onto the island bench and blankly stared in boredom at the bottle of vodka on the counter directly across from her as she tried to think of something to do to fill in the time before her friends arrive.
And while one of her hands were placed on her baby bump, the other hand was wiping away the few tears rolling down her cheeks as she debated what really meant more to herself — her little girl that she honestly wished was a boy instead, or drinking to deal with the pain of her boyfriend cheating.
But in the end she didn't want to regret losing another baby, so she got off the kitchen island, grabbed the bottle of vodka and threw it into the sink, hearing it break into pieces and the liquor inside begun pouring out and going down the drain while she walked away, back to her bedroom.
Crouching down to her phone, she unlocked it as her heart broke a little more from not seeing even one missed call or message from Jack. Opening the group chat with her friends and sent them a quick text asking them to come over sooner rather than later. She soon fell onto the bed while breaking down in tears.
She thought she'd be stronger since this wasn't the first time she had been cheated on, but this was hurting her more than anything. She found herself wondering what she had done wrong to make Jack want to cheat now while she was at home pregnant with his child.
Meanwhile only about five minutes down the road, Valentina had just finished showering after her morning shift at the cafe downstairs from her and her boyfriend's apartment when she had read the message from Adalyn.
And since she had talked with Jonah earlier that morning while she was on break and he had a few minutes spare before his performance, and also briefly talked not too long ago, she decided to head to her friends place now since she knew the others couldn't make it till later.
Making the walk to the apartment complex just a few blocks away, Valentina was soon taking the elevator up to the girl's level and down to hallway. Knocking on the door a couple times with a few minutes in between, yet still not receiving an answer, so she attempted once more and tried the handle.
Which luckily it was unlocked so she hesitantly let herself in, calling out the girl and hearing the sound of soft cry's down the hall and wandered her way down there. Lightly knock on the bedroom door, trying not to startle her.
"Adalyn.." she broke the silence with a subtly frown on her face, watching her turn to look at her friend as she wiped away a tear. "You need to stop leaving your door unlocked all the time.."
"it's fine," she mumbled, slightly burying her head into her pillow. "I went out earlier, it wasn't unlocked all night."
"Yes, I can see you went shopping," Valentina eyed the design bag sat on the other side of the girl's bed. "Spend some money, hey?"
"mh I brought baby a dress and some cute shoes.."
"You don't seem very happy about it," she mentioned while taking a seat on the edge of the bed beside the girl, a frown still on her face as she looked at her.
"Jack's cheating on me.."
Valentina's frown almost instantly turned into confusion as she furrowed at her, ".. Why do you think that?"
"It's not a thought, it's I know he is," Adalyn groaned as she turned herself away from the other.
"What happened then?"
"I called him and that girl they're on tour with answered and was like 'sorry babes he's busy'," she mocked, turning back around so she could see her friend again. "Just like that, with her dumb accent. Then Jack's like Kenzie! and then I hung up cause I didn't want to deal with it. And he hasn't even attempted to apologise.."
"When did all that happen?"
"Like twenty minutes ago.."
"You know he was like really drunk again tonight. Jonah said he was worst than the first show.."
"And I'm suppose to just-" she cut herself and the slight change in attitude off as her words faded out, the realisation of what she done while drunk only a few months ago which he had forgiven her for set it. "I don't want to talk about it.."
"I know it's not an excuse, but worst case scenario.. it could be more than just Jack wanting to get with her. He really loves you, and seems like he's actually looking forward to baby.. so something in me doubts that cheating was apart of his intentions.."
"I said I don't want to talk about it," she repeated, this time talking a little louder than before.
"I am sorry about everything though.." she softly ran her hair over the girl's hair. "Lucky we have our girls night planned for tonight, we don't even have mention the boys."
"mh.. the only thing that will be make it better is if I could drink," Adalyn sighed.
"It'll be fun without though," she replied. "You're not going to be the only one sober, and I'm sure if the girls bring a drink, they're not going to have much."
"mh.."
"I love you," Valentina whispered, letting down and gently hugging the girl. "You're going to be the best Mom whether you do it with or without him.."
As almost five hours pasted by the group of five girls were spread around Adalyn's kitchen, the homemade pizza's they had just finished making we're now in the oven. Talking and catching up and snacking on the few foods on the kitchen island as they waited for the dinner to be cooked.
"Adalyn!" Naomi turned her head to the girl in excitement. "You never told us what you're having."
"Oh.. I'm have a girl," she softly sighed.
"It's really is a girls only night," Stephanie said with a small chuckle.
"You're both having girls! They're going to be the cutest!" Brooklyn exclaimed. "Are you excited for a girl, Addie?"
"I wasn't, but I brought her Gucci this morning to make me excited. And also cause I give up on dating cause fuck guy, and I over dealing with them, this is my last chance really" she babbled. "It's going to be me and her against the world."
"Wait, are you still going to Paris?" Valentina slightly changed the subject. "Or do I need to book flights."
"No, I'll still take Lavender to him," Adalyn softly shook her head. "And while he's with her, I'm gonna be out fuckin' all the hot guys with accents."
"Are you not even going to try and talk things out with him?" Naomi more so suggested based off of what Valentina had mentioned a little earlier when they were talking about the same topic.
"Look, just because I cheated on him, it doesn't mean he get a green card-"
"You cheated on him?!" Brooklyn unintentionally cut her off.
"I wasn't suppose to mention that.."
"You cheated on him this year?" Naomi said with a small frown. "Does he know you did?"
"I went out with Lexi when I was mad at him, it was a bad idea," Adalyn shrugged it off. "And yes he knows.."
"You need to talk with him," Valentina folded her arms slightly. "I know you say you don't want to deal with it but you should at least find out his reasoning. If my boyfriend was cheating, I'd like to know why and how things suddenly got to that point."
"When Harvey cheated, you wanted to know why he did so badly.." Brooklyn mentioned.
"I knew why he cheated before I even asked, did I want him to confirm that's why, yeah.. but what I don't understand is why Jack cheated, like what did I do wrong?"
"Talk to him!"
"ughh," Adalyn groaned as she folded her arms on the island counter and laid her head on top of them.
