McKennas POV
Friday came along really quick. The last couple of day I've spent with Leo. Obviously when he was free considering he's been busy with the film. We're not together officially yet though as we were taking things as it comes. We were currently walking along the beach hand in hand before we had to make our way to set.
"Leo I've just got to ask why was the contract put in place in the first place?" I asked in curiosity
"You really want to know?"
"Yeah I mean unless you don't want to tell me"
"After I dropped you off at the airport that morning I ran into her in town, paps got us and they twisted it to make it like we were back together, and then people started to give good feedback on the relationship so her manager asked me to do this agreement"
"Right" I nodded slowly. It didn't bother me as much anymore but it still lingers in my head time to time
"I regret signing it, I wasn't able to tell anyone I had my own mother thinking the relationship was real, my friends...and you"
"And me? I don't get a title?" I stuck my tongue out as I teased him
"Hey you know that you are more than a friend...your a special friend" he winked, causing me to heat up in the cheeks to him calling me special
"Kristen must hate me though because you know all the pics that got out after you guys broke up"
"Hmm" he thought then shook his head "no Kristen has always been understanding, when we were in a fake relationship she'd always encourage me to go after you after the contract ended"
"Really? Did you talk about us to her?" Leo looked shyly to the ground and nodded
"Bit harsh talking about your new girl to your ex girlfriend don't you think?"
"New girl?" He smirked as he came to a stop
"In good time" I winked and bopped him on the nose. I started to run off
"Hey?! Wait up"
"Come on we should really get to set" he laughed and ran after me
We got to set, after Kate begging James to let me get ready in there makeup room he finally budged. The three of us now sitting in front of the vanity as the crew worked there magic.
"So what exactly is your role?" I hear Kate ask as the hair person curled my hair and put it up in a bun
"I'm just one of the first class people you introduce me too in the scene, nothing big I don't even get a line" I giggled
"Atleast you get a small part in it, do you think you'll be coming to the premiere?"
"That's like a year away isn't it? I haven't thought that far ahead yet" I laughed. Leo seemed to be finish with his hair and makeup because he got up out of seat. I didn't glance up at him once as I sat on my phone
"I just got to go change I'll see you on set" he gave me a kiss on the cheek and waved at Kate
"You guys seem to be going good" Kate says with a hint of cheekiness. I looked over at her and she had a smile planted on her face. I playfully rolled my eyes and diverted my attention back to my phone "maybe a push is all you two needed"
"Wait, I'm sorry to butt in but is Leonardo with you?" I looked up at the makeup artist that was touching up Kates lips
"We're not together" I said shyly
"Not yet anyway, should've seen it they both didn't have the courage to talk about the elephant in the room. I was stuck between the two" she started getting into her own discussion with the girl
"I think that's a bit over exaggerated don't you think Kate" I scrunched my face at her and she poked out her tongue
"Regardless what's going on between you two, you're just so lucky. He refuses to converse with any of us girls except from Kate" the girl said as she shit me a smile. I couldn't help but feel so giddy at the fact that Leo hasn't bothered to get to know the others considering he's been here for months now.
We were finally done and we were heading to the set. Before me was a grand staircase with classy features going up the walls. I felt like I was in a fairy tale. I was struggling to walk due to the corset constricting my movements
"I seriously can't breath in this how do you do it?"
"The corset? You'll get used to it" Kate giggled
"I don't even think I'm gonna be able to sit down, damn how did these women's do it back then" I kept trying to loosen the corset a bit but it was no use. We came to a stop at the top of the staircase. Only I was too focused on trying to breath. Kate gave me a small nudge causing me to look at her
"What?" She didn't say anything but gestured me to look down. I scanned the floor to see James talking to the camera crew and another group of cast to the other side of the stairs. Then that was until I was met with his presence. He had his hair slicked back and he was wearing a suit. He looked kind of gazed and stuck in thought but his focus then changed to me when he realised I was looking at him. I smiled and made my way down the staircase. I was so mesmerised by how attractive he looked. He even looked tanner than he usually was. Everything around us became non existent. It was truely a fairytale moment
"You look so beautiful Kenna" I blushed
"And you are looking quite handsome Mr DiCaprio" I giggled, he smirked and licked his lip and bowed down to ask me for my hand which I grabbed without thought. He smiled and twirled me around. Of course because of the corset I found it hard to move causing me to stumble forward. He caught me and we stared into each others eyes. He leaned in and gave me a short peck.
"Sorry this damn corset is really hard to use" he just chuckled as he helped me to stand up properly
"I'm sorry to interrupt" James walked over with a grin planted on his face "whatever just happened just then, you need to do for this scene. It's perfect"
"D-do you want me to kiss Kate too?"
"No no replace it with a kiss on the hand or something" James waved off and then instructed everyone to take their spots. I just shook my head and laughed at Leo as I walked off and found my place next to James to watch the scene.
"You're really making me regret not trying hard enough to get you to play rose you know" I here James whisper, I gave him a smile. As much as it would've been nice to play the role I just think Kate was better suited to be Rose.
When the scene played out I couldn't help but watch Leo. I think it made him nervous because he kept stuffing up his lines of diverting his focus to me. I think at the moment they were on take 5 or something like that.
"Leonardo your Rose is up there not over here" James pointed at me. I watched as Leo started to go red. The scene started out again before I knew it I felt a presence next to me
"You know the way he looks at you is one of a kind" I looked at the lady next to me decked out in a black sequenced dress and feathers laid in her hand "I'm Kathy, sweetie you must be McKenna" I smiled but kind of nervous at the fact she knew who I was. She must've picked up on the energy because she soon started to clarify some things
"Leo told me a lot about you don't worry I'm not some stalker" I laughed at her claim
"Do you think he looks at me differently?"
"Oh definitely, why do you think they've done so many takes? James watched you guys earlier and needs that same energy in the scene, obviously he can't give Kate that same look" I nodded as the scene wrapped up and Leo and Kate made there way over to me. Kathy gave us three a nod and smiled and walked off to the next set
"Oh I see you've met Kathy, how lovely is she?" Kate said
"She is" I nodded slowly. Kate started to wander off with billy as I straggled behind with Leo
"What'd Kathy have to say?" Leo smirked
"Oh nothing" I smirked back at him. He put his arm around me as we walked though the doors to the dinner set.
I watched on the side as they made there way through the scenes and before I knew it was my turn.
"Ok McKenna I'll get you to sit at this table, jack and rose will walk up to you and rose will introduce you to jack. Just talk between yourselves make it like you're meeting for the first time, the audio will be cut out so don't worry about having to talk in character just make sure your movement and actions fit the scene. McKenna you're a first class passenger so just think graceful and proper...now Leo you got to remember you're trying to win over these first class people so you'll need to act like a fine gentleman do you think you can manage that?" James let out a chuckle. I glanced at Leo and he gave me a wink. The cameras started rolling and I found myself adjusting to the character quite quickly. Kate walked up to me followed by Leo
"McKenna this is Leo but you already know that" she said, I tried to not break character. I already knew this was going to be hard discussing stuff that wasn't even related to the film but having to stay in our roles. Leo smiled at me and bent down and grabbed my hand to kiss it
"Did I tell you you look very beautiful today?" I smiled softly still remembering to be graceful
"Guys I'm right here" Kate said as she threw some hand gestures and smiles as if it was our first meeting. Leo stood up
"Ok you guys can keep talking for a few moments" we here James instruct
"So I was wondering what you were doing on Thursday night?"
"I fly out back to New York"
"Already?" Kate said joint the discussion
"Yeah it's gone quick hasnt it"
"Ok what about Wednesday night?"
"Nothing as of yet" I smiled and nodded at him gracefully
"Ok then it's a date"
"Hmmm I don't know"
"Come on this will be our third one"
"Gross this is not the time to discuss this" Kate said with a smile. I almost broke out in character at that moment. Her actions just didn't match her words.. well I thought it was funny. I took I swift moment to compose myself and Leo continued to talk
"So?"
"Oh yeah for sure, Wednesday it is" I smiled.
"Cut, we've got the footage, nice work everyone" James yelled out. Kate playfully rolled her eyes and walked off and Leo pinched my cheek
"Good work" he said dumbly as I playfully hit his arms away
