ADELAIDE WAS STOOD WITH THE GROUP AS THEY TRIED TO STOP MELIORN fROM TAKING JACE. He had tried to act like he was on Clary's side but it did not exactly work as they had still disappeared before they could bring the cure to her. And now Meliorn was saying that Jace attacked the seelies and that he needed to pay for it. "Turning Jace over is not an option." Alec denies as he crosses his arms against his chest. He wasn't about to give them Jace, especially since he was undercover.
"I don't know how you'd have much say in the matter. He helped kidnap our queen. Jace Herondale needs to pay for his crimes." Meliorn states as he stares at Alec. Jace scoffs as he rolls his eyes a bit.
"I was undercover." Jace retorts, not seeing how he was going to pay for something that he didn't even want to do.
"And how many seelie knights did you injure to maintain your facade?" He asks the blonde who stays quiet for a moment.
"Did they not attack him?" Adelaide asks him, raising an eyebrow at him. She knew Jace was pretending to be with them, but he was just protecting himself from the seelies.
"That has nothing to do with this." Meliorn denies as he shakes his head just causing Adelaide to roll her eyes.
"Jace was trying to buy us enough time to rally a cure for Clarys condition." Alec says, although it didn't seem to be convincing meliorn too much.
"What cannot be denied is that Clarissa Fairchild, a Shadowhunter, has committed an act of war." He states as he looks around the group. They couldn't let Clary pay for Jonathan's crimes, especially since he was practically controlling her.
"Kidnapping your queen was Jonathan's plan." Jace points out as he crosses his arms against his chest.
"And was it also Jonathan's plan for Clary to murder the seelie agent thats currently rotting in your morgue?" Meliorn asks them, clearly full of anger. Adelaide just sighs as she rubs her face, there was nothing they could have done to stop it.
"You mean the one who set demon traps all over the city and then broke into our subcells?" Alec asks him with a slight scoff. Meliorn just stares back at him before someone comes in and whispers something in his ear. Adelaide shares a glance with Alec who was curious what it was about.
"It would seem my queens ransom has finally been demanded." Meliorn tells them as he narrows his eyes. "The time of the exchange approaches." He says as he goes to walk but Alec stops him.
"Meliorn." He says, shaking his head. "Jonathan can not be allowed to get his hands on that sword. If he does, the amount of demons he could raise from Edom-"
"That blade and those who wield it are of no further concern to us." Meliorn stated as he shrugs his shoulders.
"Then just hold them long enough for us to get there with glorious." Jace pleads as he stared at Meliorn who only clenches his jaw.
"Seelies cannot lie. To double-cross would go against our nature." Meliorn denied as he shakes his head. Jace sighs as he takes a step toward him.
"Please. Please, Meliorn. I'd be indebted to you forever." Jace admits and he could tell that Meliorn was thinking about it.
"We can however be forgetful. Leaving entrances to the realm, unlocked. Do with that what you will." Meliorn states before leaving the room.
"We need to get there, stop Jonathan." Adelaide says as they were left alone but Alec shakes his head, looking down at her.
"Adelaide, it's too dangerous." Alec states, knowing she wanted to be the one to take down Jonathan but he also knew that she got seriously hurt last time and didn't want that to happen again.
"I might be the one who can actually stop him." Adelaide points out as she places her hand on her hip. But Alec just shakes his head.
"Not when the sword is nearby." He denies, he wouldnt mind her tagging along if the sword wasnt around. The sword could potentially harm her and he didnt want that. "I can't let you get hurt." Alec says and Adelaide tilts her head, gazing up at him.
"Alec, I know you just want to protect me, but you can't do it forever." Adelaide denies as she shakes her head. It wasn't like she didn't appreciate it but he couldn't protect her from every little thing.
"The sword is deadly to anyone with demon blood. I'll text you when it's safe." Alec responds, taking her hand and giving it a squeeze. "Please." He just needed her stay back one last time. Once more and then everything would be back to normal.
"Okay." Adelaide responds as she nods her head. Alec smiles down at her, pressing a soft kiss to her lips before heading off with the rest of the group. Adelaide sighs as she watches him before turning and seeing her dad walking over to her.
"I never knew you were one to stay back." Dean teases her and she laughs a bit, crossing her arms as she just shrugs her shoulders.
"Well, I don't want to fight anymore." Adelaide admits as she leans against the wall. Her and Alec had spent too long fighting and she didn't want to continue it. Especially right now with basically a ticking clock on herself.
"You and Alec get through a lot." Dean points out, feeling like that was why they were still together. Because they could get through anything and still be okay.
"Yeah, we do." She replies as she nods her head, smiling as she moves her gaze down to the ground.
"If there's anything you need to tell me. You know you can, right?" Dean tells her and she furrows her eyebrows, wondering why he was saying this to her but she nods her head.
"Of course."
"Are you sure there's nothing on your mind?" Dean asks, gazing at her and the woman nods her head. She knew she was good at keeping a poker face but it seemed her dad could see right through it.
"I just want to deal with Jonathan." Adelaide states, a sigh leaving her lips. She just wanted him gone and then they could deal with Lilith. She didn't know how, but they would make it work.
"Hm." He didn't seem to believe her when she told him and honestly, she didn't blame him for not believing her. But she didn't want anyone else knowing or any focus going off of Jonathan and onto her.
"I'm serious, everything's fine." Adelaide says, smiling at her dad before moving past him, mainly to avoid more questions. Dean watches after her, still abit wary but he decides to leave it alone. He would figure it out either way, because he could tell something was off,
And he wouldn't let it slide easily.

STARING AT THE PHONE IN HER HAND, adelaide was just waiting for a text from Alec. She was rather impatient as she still hadnt heard anything. Adelaide was afraid that something might have happened. Especially since it was jonathan who they were after, getting clary back from him would be a task. "Adelaide." She hears from behind her, making her jump up from the couch. But as she turns around, it was Magnus who was stood by the door.
Her eyes widen slightly as she just stares back at the man, her lips parting a bit.

Magnus, what are you doing here?" She asks him, she wasn't expecting him to stop by, especially since she had told him she had wanted nothing to do with him. Adelaide knew he wasn't going to take that but she didn't think he would come to her so soon.
"I came to talk." Magnus responds and she nods her head slowly, clearing her throat as she rubs the back of her neck. If Alec was there, she could easily deter it but since they were alone, she had no choice.
"There's nothing--" She tries to deny but Magnus cuts her off.
"I know." He tells her and she just stares at him, furrowing her eyebrows. "I know of the deal you made." Magnus states and Adelaide felt her blood run cold. She shakes her head as she glances around the apartment.
"You can't be here." She says as she gestures for him to leave.
"If you're scared of my father, you don't have to be." Magnus assures her, knowing she was probably worried that Asmodeous would find out that he came to see her. Adelaide stops in her steps, looking a bit confused.
"Why?"
"I sent him into limbo." Magnus tells her and she was in shock, her mouth dropping open for a second. She was not expecting that to be what he wanted to tell her, especially since he seemed to be getting closer to Asmodeous.
"You... So, wait, he's gone?" Adelaide asks, wanting to be sure before she started to become happy that she didn't have to avoid him anymore.
"Yes." Magnus assures her as he nods his head and he could see her look relieved. "Adelaide, why would you ever do that? You didn't need to make a deal for me." He denies with a frown, his father had told him what happened after Magnus kind of figured it out.
"I knew that you needed your powers back and it was the only way." Adelaide tells him as she shrugs her shoulders.
"We could've found a loop hole." Magnus retorts, never wanting to lose her just because she wanted to help him.
"Looks like you already did."
"You get what I mean." Magnus responds as he sighs a little bit. He shakes his head as he frowns lightly. "I'm so sorry that you felt the need to do that for me." He states, hating how she had made a deal with Asmodeous because she felt like he needed his magic. His magic meant a lot to him but he would give it all up for her which is why he did it in the past.
"Hey, I will never regret the decision I made." Adelaide denied as she didn't want him feeling bad for what she decided to do. It was her choice and she would do it all again.
Magnus smiles, nodding his head as he takes her hand in his, giving it a squeeze.
"What's this i hear from a little birdie, telling me that you're engaged?" He asks her, raising an eyebrow at the woman. Adelaide turns red, sheepishly smiling as her eyes drift down to the ground.
"Oh, yeah." She replies, laughing lightly as she nods her head. Magnus wished he was around to celebrate with her the day of, but he was just glad that her and Alec had decided to take that step.
"Buttercup, that's fantastic." Magnus tells her and she groans, covering her face a little bit.
"Please don't make it a big deal." Adelaide pleads as she loved being the center of attention but with Magnus, he sometimes went a bit overboard.
"Oh, it's a huge deal." Magnus retorts in a serious tone and she shakes her head, smiling a little but. Magnus just laughs as he brings her into a tight hug. "I'm very happy for you." He admits as he rubs her back and she nods her head, her arms wrapping around him.
"Thanks." She responds as she rests her head on his shoulder. Adelaide was honestly glad that he dealt with Asmodeous because she never wanted to lose Magnus. He had been with her most of her life, it would've made her feel slightly empty if he was just gone all of a sudden.
It just shows that everything happens for a reason and you never know what will happen.

ALEC AND ISABELLE WERE STOOD, watching the demons leave the opening that Jonathan had created. There was nothing they could do until they got the sword back and were able to close the rift. All they really could do was protect the city. "We've got this."Alec states as they watch the creatures fly over the sky blasting fire balls. Isabelle just looks over at him.
"We've got this?" She asks, raising her eyebrows as she wasn't sure sure about that as they ready their weapons.
"It's no problem. We're lightwoods." Alec responds as the creatures get closer to them. Just as he is about to let go of his arrow, the creatures disappear before their eyes. As they turn, they see both Magnus and Adelaide.
"You won't be needing those." Adelaide denies as Alec immediately embraces her, glad that she was safe. Even though she should be the one checking on him since they went head to head with Jonathan.
"Sorry, I'm late. Traffic was hell." Magnus tells them and Adelaide couldn't help but roll her eyes, slapping his arm.
"Seriously, Magnus?"
"What, don't like my joke, buttercup?" He asks with a slight smirk on her lips. Adelaide just shakes her head as she rests her head against Alec. The man rubs her back as he noticed Clary and Jace making their way over to them.
"Where's the sword?" Alec asks curiously as he didn't see it with them but it didn't seem like they had happy expressions on their faces.
"Jonathan destroyed it." Clary tells them making them all feel defeated. It was one of the only ways they could have closed the rift and stopped the creatures from coming through.
"We can't close the rift." Jace denies as they all turn and watch the creatures roam over the city.
"This is it, isn't it?" Isabelle asks as she shakes her head, a frown on her face as she couldn't believe this day had come.
"It's not exactly paradise." Adelaide mumbles as she crosses her arms against her chest. Magnus hesitated as he turned to face the group.
"My father told me about a way to increase my power." Magnus informs them, making them look toward him curiously. But Adelaide was already a but suspicious since it was Asmodeous they were talking about.
"Enough to close the rift?" Clary asks him and Magnus nods his head.
"Potentially, yes. The strength I would need to pull it off, can only come from one place." He tells them and Adelaide could almost feel her heart stop. It seemed everyone knew where he was talking about.
"Edom?" Isabelle asks him, her eyes widening slightly.
"Magnus, you can't." Alec denies as he shakes his head. Adelaide was just in shock that he was willing to go down to Edom. Especially with Lilith being down there.
"The demons will keep coming back unless we seal the rift. It's the only way to keep you all safe." Magnus explains and Adelaide shakes her head, stepping forward.
"I'll do it." She says making everyone's head snap toward her. Of course Jace was the only one who knew why she suggested it.
"What? No." Alec instantly denies, shaking his head. He wasn't about to allow that to happen.
"Alec-"
"No, absolutely not." He snaps with a slight scoff. Adelaide sighs, looking back at Magnus who gives her a reassuring smile.
"It's okay, buttercup. I'll be fine." Magnus tells her before heading to an empty space, facing away from them.
"It's only Edom, you always come back." Alec calls out toward him as the man starts the spell in order to get down to Edom. A circle of fire moves around him before he disappears from their eyes.
"Jonathan needs to be stopped." Adelaide says as she looks away from the spot where magnus had been. "None of this will matter if he's still alive." She states but Alec instantly stops her.
"He almost killed you." Alec points out as he shakes his head, not liking the idea that she was coming up with.
"The only reason was because I was holding back." Adelaide states, glancing toward Clary. She only held back because it was hurting her as well, but now that the link was broken, it didn't matter. "I won't this time." She denies, her jaw clenching as she looks over the city.
She wouldn't let Jonathan win, not after everything he's done.

ADELAIDE HAD SNUCK OUT OF THE INSTITUTE IN HER ATTEMPT TO FIND JONATHAN. It was the only way that she was going to be able to find him. She loved alec but he couldnt stop her this time. It was a lot of her own mistakes that allowed Jonathan to be around as long as he was. And she had to put an end to it once and for all.
It wasnt hard to find him but he wasnt exactly hiding from anyone. "Jonathan!" She calls out toward him, catching his attention. Adelaide was just glad that the sword was destroyed since he couldn't use it against her.
"Ahh, Adelaide. We meet again." Jonathan responds as he smirks over at her. Adelaide rolls her eyes, wanting to wipe thar stupid smirk off of his face.
"Stop this madness, or you'll leave me no choice." Adelaide tells him as she steps closer to him. He nods his head slowly, tilting it ever so slightly.
"How about.. no." He tells her as he walks closer to her, wanting to intimidate her.
"You can't rely on your connection with Clary anymore." She points out, she had been holding back because of it but now that it was gone, she didn't have to anymore.
"I don't need it." He denies as he couldn't help but laugh. "You're not stronger than me, Adelaide." Jonathan states, looking over her for a moment.
"You want to bet on that?" Adelaide asks him, raising an eyebrow at him. He was always underestimating her.
"I do, actually." Jonathan responds with a slight chuckle. "You didn't even come with any backup. Rookie mistake." He stated as he didn't see any of her little friends with her.
"It wasn't a mistake." Adelaide denied as she takes a step closer to him. "I can take you down." She admits and he didnt seem the slightest bit scared of her.
"I'd like to see you try." Jonathan responds and she immediately sends a fire ball his way. He was able to block it, making him only raise an eyebrow at her. "Cute." He says with a smirk, chuckling at her.
"After all the pain and suffering you caused us, you deserve to die." Adelaide states as she pushes him back using her power. Jonathan stops himself, grunting a bit as he pushed back.
"We both know your power isn't strong enough." He tells her as he shakes his head, blocking her hits. "At least not enough to withstand my death." Jonathan points out and that was what gave her the upper hand. He was saying that to raise fear and make her falter. But she didn't care if she couldn't withstand his power.
"I can do it."
"You kill me, you'll most likely die too." Jonathan states, groaning as she increases her power on him. He counteracts it a bit, but she saw him tense as he tries to really fight back. But when she wasn't holding back, it was pretty easy to take him down.
"So be it, I'm already linked to lilith, aren't I?" Adelaide asks as she raises an eyebrow at him. She didn't really have much else to lose. Jonathan scoffs as he sends a wave her way, causing her to stumble back but she holds her ground.
"So, you have a death wish?" Jonathan asks her and she just tilts her head, a slight tone in her eyes that he hadn't quite seen before.
"Does that make you scared, Jonathan?"
"It makes me angry that you're wasting such power." Jonathan retorts but she knew that he was hoping she would stop herself, that she cared if she lived or died. But truthfully, it would be worth it.
"It's not a waste if you die." Adelaide points out as she only increases her power, making the man groan, stumbling forward.
"Stop!" Jonathan pleads as he drops to his knees. "You don't want to do this." He denies and she just laughs, tilting her head back.
"Actually, I do." She responds with a smirk on her lips. Adelaide wasn't scared to die, the only thing she regretted was not giving Alec and her friends a proper goodbye. But Jace would tell them why she did this and they would eventually understand. "Goodbye, Jonathan." Adelaide says as she increases her power, causing the man to scream. He was starting to evaporate when suddenly she was pushed to the ground as she felt someone on top of her.
Glancing up, she notices that it was Lilith. "What the hell are you doing?" Adelaide snaps at her, rage filling her body that her spell had stopped and Jonathan had started to heal himself.
"Don't think for a second I'm going out that easily." Lilith denies with a scoff as she just glares at the woman. Adelaide had forgotten that Lilith could talk to her if she wanted to, but to be able to attack her from Edom was something new.
"He wants you dead." Adelaide points out, they both knew that Jonathan wasn't the biggest fan of either of them.
"Yet, you're the one actually killing me." Lilith points out as she finally lets the woman go. As Adelaide turns her head, she sees Jonathan flying off which makes her groan.
"Damn it!" She shouts, hitting the ground. Adelaide couldn't believe he had gotten away. She was so close and Lilith just had to come in and ruin it. As Adelaide meets Liliths eyes, she saw the smirk on her face.
"It won't be that easy, dear." Lilith tells her before disappearing. Adelaide lays back against the ground, just staring up at the sky. If she couldn't even fight against Jonathan without Lilith interfering, what was she supposed to do? Lilith needed to die, and It wasn't like they could find a safe way to do it soon.
So, if Lilith did end up getting out of control and there still wasn't a solution, Adelaide would do what she had to. She couldn't let the woman come back and she sure as hell couldn't allow Lilith to have that much power over her.
