"Ah!!" Tae screamed when he saw the wolf bouncing at him. He fell back as the
Wolf hovered above him.
Tae tightly closed his eyes waiting for the wolf to rip him off. The drool of the wolf was dropping on his face. He doesn't dare to open his eyes until the wolf started to sniff him.
He was stunned by the action of the unknown wolf. His wolf Blue was saying something all this time but he was unable to process it.
The wolf started to sniff Tae causing him to open his eye slowly. Tae was confused by the wolf's actions. His wolf Blue was trying to say something but he is busy thinking of why the wolf didn't do anything to him.
The wolf started to lick the mark on Tae unknowingly releasing his scent which he has suppressed all this time and that's when it struck his mind.
"Mate" Tae mumbled and pushed the wolf from him causing the wolf to fall beside him with a whimper.
Lycus was hurt by Tae's action. He looked into his eyes to feel many emotions. Confused...Hurt...shocked..but most of all, he can feel the hate towards him.
"Tae what have you done? Why did you push him?" Blue questioned as he was offended by his human actions.
"Blue..." Tae halted his words when he saw lycus again moving towards him with gradual steps.
Tae was still in the same position as before. Lycus, realizing the mistake he had made, approached Tae again, this time moving slowly and rubbing his nose against Tae as a way of apologizing for his actions and expressing his hurt.
"Forgive me, Blue and Tae." Lycus mind linked.
Tae was once again shocked to hear the Lycus voice in his mind, and Blue was overjoyed at the thought that his mate acknowledges him too.
Tae was confused by the bipolar actions of his mate. The previous day he said that there was nothing between them and now here he is apologizing for his actions and trying to make some bond between them. But he had enough.
Tae turned his head away rejecting the sweet gestures of the wolf. At present Lycus taste the pain of rejection.
Even though. Lycus is hurt, but he will not back down in this matter. He lay on Tae's lap forcing all of his weight on him.
"What are you doing?"Tae questioned trying to push Lycus out of him but failing to do so.
"why-" Tae sighs to see lycus already fell asleep. He looked at Lycus' feature for the first time. Even though he doesn't like Jungkook, something is attracting him to Lycus."
His fur is pure black which makes his presence dominant before other wolves.
He has large paws, pointed ears, and a long, bushy tail that he wagged earlier to show his fondness for Tae."
Tae let lycus stay on his lap for another hour. The sun had already descended the sky and darkness filled the sky. Fireflies are surrounding them providing light to them.
"Blue.." Tae called his wolf and Blue replied with a hum.
"How will we go from here? It's already late." Tae asked nervously.
"Just wake him up," Blue answered uninterestedly.
"How will I when he is sound so asleep?" Tae said looking at Lycus.
"Seems like you cared for him?" Blue teased.
Tae blushed at Blue's words, trying to push the thought away. He couldn't deny that he was attracted to Lycus, despite the wolf's confusing behavior. But he didn't want to get hurt again, not after the way Jungkook had treated him.
He gently shook Lycus, trying to wake him up without disturbing him too much. The wolf grumbled and nuzzled closer to Tae before finally opening his eyes.
"We need to go, It's getting late," Tae said softly, trying to avoid any further confrontation.
"I'm sorry, Tae. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was just surprised by the bond between us and I didn't know how to react, "Lycus said softly. He looked up at Tae, his eyes full of sadness and regret.
Tae's heart ached at the sight of Lycus' vulnerable expression. He knew how hard it was to open up and be honest, especially for a wolf-like Lycus who seemed to have a tough exterior.
Tae just hummed and started to get up from the place while Lycus stood on his paws wagging his tail.
Tae started to walk while Lycus followed him. The walk was silent but comfortable.
Together, they made their way through the woods, Lycus guiding Tae through the unfamiliar territory. The journey was long and tiring, but Tae couldn't help but feel a sense of comfort and safety with Lycus by his side.
On their way, Tae couldn't help but compare the two of them in his life. Jungkook had always been arrogant and cruel, treating Tae like a mere possession rather than a true mate. But Lycus was different. He was kind and he was sorry for his behavior, unlike Jungkook.
It was a few steps away from the omegas Den when Tae halted in his steps. Lycus looked at him in confusion.
"Why did you stop?" Lycus asked while Tae sighed and turned to him.
"You can go now since we are already near the omega's den. I know Alpha doesn't like to spread the rumor that you accept a Rogue as your mate." Tae said sadly. He knows that his words may hurt Lycus but he doesn't have any other way.
All this time, Tae couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Despite Lycus' kind words and actions, Tae couldn't shake off the memories of the pain, he had experienced with Jungkook.
He knew that he should trust Lycus, that he was nothing like Jungkook who had broken his heart. But Tae couldn't help but worry that he would end up getting hurt again, that the love and bond between him and Lycus were fragile and could be broken at any moment.
"Tae...hmm...Will come to the lakeside tomorrow evening?" Lycus asked sadly. He understood what Tae feels right now and he is ready to give some space to Tae.
"Thanks for accompanying me," Tae said and went from there to omega's Den without replying to Lycus.
It does hurt Lycus when Tae didn't reply to him but he hopes that Tae will come to the lakeside.
Lycus waited there until Tae got inside the omega's Den. As soon as Tae disappeared from his sight, Lycus run towards the packhouse.
At omega's Den
"Where were you all this Time?" Ava questioned as soon as Tae entered. Tae gulped looking at her serious face.
"I..I..went to l..lakeside," Tae said nervously.
"Who permitted you to go to the lakeside, huh? Didn't I order you to complete the work?" Ava questioned.
"I got off here after I completed my work," Tae replied even though he stuttered a little.
"Don't ever Go out of here without my permission and If I got to know it..then you face the consequences," Ava warned.
"Wash the dishes in the kitchen and go to bed without having supper," Ava commanded and went to her room without waiting to hear Tae.
Tae without any fuss went to do as Ava ordered and went to bed without having supper. All that night his mind is filled with the thoughts of Lycus, His mate.
Meanwhile
In the pack house, Lycus had already given control to Jungkook. Lycus was very happy to spend time with Tae. He didn't annoy Jungkook as always.
Jungkook had summoned Namjoon and Yoongi to come to discuss an important matter.
"Why did you call us?" Namjoon asked when he and Yoongi seated themselves on the couch.
" Hyung." Jungkook began."The matter I am going to tell you is very important and I don't want your mates to know about it until I say."He said as they both nodded.
"Next month there will be a ball party in our pack and I will be choosing my mate in the presence of our pack members along with our neighboring packs," Jungkook said causally. Namjoon and yoongi were shocked to hear it from Jungkook.
"Jungkook, Do you know what you are saying?" Yoongi asked not able to believe his words.
"I know what I am doing and It's not only my decision but Lycus too," Jungkook said. They both were beyond shocked to hear that Lycus agreed to this.
"Jungkook-"Yoongi was cut off by Jungkook.
"I didn't summon you to know your opinion. I want you both to start the preparation for the ball party and send information to our neighboring packs."
Jungkook ordered.
"Jungkook, Isn't it Jin's work to inform the other pack since he is the head Beta of our pack? How come we are going to keep it secret from him?" Namjoon questioned.
"You are right but we should keep it a secret from him or else he would find some means to stop this that's why I arranged for you both to do this," Jungkook said. As they both sighed.
"Jungkook, we do not agree with your decision to choose another mate when you already have one. You are our Alpha and we don't have any right to go against you, only because of this reason, We are going to do as per your order." Namjoon said and went out of the room leaving Yoongi and Jungkook behind.
Yoongi glanced at Jungkook and went out without saying anything further. Jungkook shakes his head and went to sleep.
Time skips
The next day, Tae woke up feeling a sense of nervousness and anticipation. He couldn't shake the feeling that something important was going to happen today, but he wasn't sure what it was. He got dressed and headed downstairs, trying to shake off the feeling.
He spends the day doing all the chores in the omega Den. All this time he is debating whether he should go to the lakeside or not but he was not able to decide on it and Ava was keeping an eye on him.
Evening
As promised Jungkook gave his control to Lycus. As soon as he takes control he runs to the lakeside with the hope to see Tae but he got disappointed when he didn't see Tae.
He gradually moves towards the lakeside.
Lycus lay on the ground, staring up at the sky as the sun began to set. He couldn't shake the feeling of disappointment that had settled in his chest when he didn't see Tae at the lake. He had been hoping that Tae would be there, waiting for him.
As the evening began to close in, Lycus couldn't help but wonder where Tae was. He tried to mindlink him again, hoping to at least be able to communicate with him, but still, there was no response.
As the sun finally disappeared below the horizon, Lycus made a decision.
He decides to go to the omegas Den to see Tae.
He was about to stand on his paws when he saw someone seated beside him. He howled in happiness when he saw Tae.
He licked Tae in happiness. Tae sat there without any emotions.
"I know you will surely come," Lycus said. Tae shakes his head denying Lycus' statement.
"I d..didn't c..come for you. I just come to get some fresh air." Tae reasoned even though what he said is a lie.
"Ok...Then I will leave now." Lycus mumbled enough for Tae to hear it. Lycus stood on his paws and was about to move but halted on his steps when he hear Tae's voice.
"Hmm...wait, Where are you going?" Tae questioned.
Lycus turned to look at Tae, surprised by the sudden change in his demeanor. Tae's expression had softened, and there was a hint of concern in his voice.
"I thought you didn't come here for me," Lycus said, feeling a mix of confusion and hope.
"I didn't, But I...I don't want you to leave. I don't want to be alone right now." Tae said, looking down at the ground.
Lycus's heart swelled with love and tenderness as he looked at his mate. He could see the vulnerability and insecurity in Tae's eyes, and he knew that his mate was struggling with something.
"Tae, you don't have to be alone," Lycus said, moving closer to Tae and resting a paw on his lap.
Tae was feeling mixed emotions right own. He had made his decision and was afraid to open up with Lycus.
"what's bothering you?" Lycus asked when he sensed the bitterness in his scents.
"N..nothing," Tae replied and looked down at his hands which were fiddling.
Lycus couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness as he watched Tae struggle with whatever was troubling him. He wanted nothing more than to wrap his mate in his paws and offer him comfort and support, but he knew that Tae needed space.
So, they sat there in silence, enjoying the peaceful scenery as the evening settled in. Lycus couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and love as he watched Tae.
"I'm sorry for being cold to you Yesterday." Tae sounded out of nowhere gaining Lycus' attention.
"It's okay, Tae. I understand. But I hope you can give me a chance to prove to you that I'm not like Jungkook. I want to be there for you and protect you, as your mate and I don't care if you are Rogue or omega." Lycus confessed and waited patiently for his positive reply.
Tae's heart skipped a beat at the word "mate". He knew deep down that he had strong feelings for Lycus, and the thought of being with him for the rest of his life filled him with happiness and excitement.
"I'll give you a chance," Tae said softly, squeezing Lycus' Paws. "I want to be with you too." Tae confessed after a min of silence.
Lycus Jumped and howled in Happiness. He hovered above Tae and licked him to death. Lycus couldn't contain his excitement and happiness as Tae agreed to be his mate. He had been waiting for this moment for what felt like an eternity, and the thought of finally being able to call Tae his own filled him with joy and love.
It might be too fast for Tae to accept Lycus but the mate bond was making it difficult for Tae as he was already fallen for Lycus.
As the evening turned into night, the two of them sat by the lake, enjoying each other's company and the peacefulness of the surroundings. Tae felt a sense of hope and happiness growing in his heart, knowing that he had a mate who cared for him and was willing to accept him for who he is. And Lycus felt grateful and blessed to have Tae by his side, knowing that with time and patience, their bond would only grow stronger.
Over the next few weeks, Tae and Lycus worked on building a strong foundation for their relationship. They went on long walks and spent hours talking and getting to know each other better. Mostly they were found at the lakeside spending their time.
Even though Tae was harmed by Ava and others, He didn't complain to Lycus about it. Tae and Blue were happy to bond with Lycus.
Soon the weeks turned into months. It's the day of the Ball party. Everyone was dolled up for the Ball party and were heading to pack house.
Tae had been waiting for Lycus for the past two hours at the lakeside.
"Blue..where is Lycus? Why am I not able to mind link him?" Tae questioned worriedly.
"Tae..he must be busy or There might be a chance that Alpha didn't give control to Lycus." Blue reasoned.
"You are right. How about we go back to Omega Den? It's already late and I am sure Ava must have figured out that I eloped from there." Tae said as Blue agreed to him.
Tae started to move toward the omega's Den and that's when he noticed that there is no one in the pack.
" What's going on here?" Blue asked.
"I don't know, let me ask that boy," Tae said and moved towards a little boy who is playing with a ball.
As soon as he reached the boy he coughed gaining his attention. The boy stopped playing and looked up at Tae with his doe eyes.
"Baby. Can I know where's everyone? I haven't seen anyone out here." Tae asked crouching down at the boy's level.
"Don't you know that there ball party in the packhouse? Everyone in this pack and neighboring pack were invited to it."
The boy replied and went to play leaving Tae alone.
" What is the ball party for? Why didn't they invite us?" Blue questioned.
"I don't have any idea about it, how about we check it ourselves?" Tae asked. Blue agreed with Tae and he made his way to the pack house.
After about 10 minutes Tae reached Packhouse and entered it while admiring the decorations.
Tae saw everyone gathered at the venue and applauding for something. He saw Jin and others standing beside his mate.
Jin with a disappointed look handed over the mic to Jungkook while he received it with a smile.
He looked around the room and smiled at a particular person. He grips the mic and placed it at a short distance from his mouth and said something which made Tae's heart breaks into millions of pieces.
"I Alpha Jeon Jungkook choose Ava as My Mate."
