McKennas POV
We were back in LA now. We only arrived two days ago. I had a quick shower when I woke up and waltz down to the kitchen for breakfast. I was wearing Leo's yellow sweater and bike shorts. Nothing to fancy as I didn't plan on going out today.
"Do you want a coffee Kenna?" Marissa asked as she pulled a mug out
"Yes please" she started to pour the coffee and that's when Leo walked in
"Good morning beautiful ladies" he chanted as he gave me a quick peck on the lips.
"Howd you sleep?"
"Pretty rough actually, it feels weird being in my own bed again after all these months"
"Yeah it does doesn't it?" Leo pondered. all of a sudden we hear a smashing sound. Leo immediately rushing to Marissas aid as she dropped my coffee. I had a delayed reflex but I soon got up and stood by the scene
"Oh Marissa are you ok? Are you burnt?" I said as I crouched down beside her
"I'm sorry Kenna"
"It's just coffee I don't care, as long as you're ok" I smiled at her to calm her down. She stood up and dusted her apron off, luckily not getting any coffee on it. She watched as Leo and I playfully nudge each other as we picked up the broken porcelain on the floor
"Hmm" she hummed thoughtfully. Leo and I looked at her as her eyes dances between the two of us
"You two are acting strange... are you two together now?!" She said excitedly. We both stood up awkwardly. Leo scratching the back of his neck as he licked his lips more
"Uuuh yes and no, we're just seeing how it goes" Marissa jumped up and down and clapped causing Leo to snort and laugh
"And your father knows of this?" I nodded
"I'm just so happy to see this with my very own eyes, I've waited so long for this to happen"
"Is that so?" I walked back to my seat at the table
"Yes! We all wanted this to happen, especially your mother!" Marissa said as she cleaned up the spill
"We hated each other for so long I don't know what you were thinking... besides we're not anything yet"
"All in good time sweetie" Marissa chanted. Leo looked at me and stuck his tongue out. I scrunched my face up at him causing him to chuckle as he walked in my direction
"I'm hanging out with Tobey and Kate today if you want to tag along?" He asked
"As much as I would love to I've got some stuff to sort out today"
"Music?" He questioned as I shook my head. I managed to get in touch with Ava finally. Actually yesterday I ran in to her whilst on my run. She claimed she was in a hurry but said she'd come over today.
"No just some other stuff that needs to be taken care of" I shot a smile. Leo shrugged and didn't bother to question anymore knowing I wouldn't budge. You could see he was still curious in the way he furrowed his brows together
"Well I'm going to go meet up with them now, I'll see you later....bye Marissa!" He squeezed my shoulder and left.
It's been a couple of hours, me waiting around for Ava to come. I was starting to think she's isn't coming at all
"What are you doing honey? You should be out soaking up the sun"
"Yeah but I'm waiting for Ava she said she'd come around today" Marissas face dropped to concern
*knock knock* we both jumped to the knock on the door.
"I'll get it Marissa" I forced a small smile
"Ok well I'll be in the laundry room if you need me" she nodded. I watched her disappear in the hallways and took a deep breath. I opened the door to Ava standing at the door timidly.
"Hey" she said softly. Not being her usual loud self
"Come in" I said not knowing how to act
"You look...different" she said scanning over my body. This girl really has the nerve right now.
We walked up onto my room. I sat at the backboard of the bed while she planted herself on the edge.
"How was filming" she scanned the room trying to look anywhere but me
"Yeh eventful" I sighed
"I've seen" she muttered. I rolled my eyes
"So why haven't you been answering any of my messages or calls"
"Uuuh...you've been trying to contact me I uh lost my phone" she states unconvincingly
"You've lost your phone?"
"Yeah ahaha I must've lost it on a night out or something" she chuckled nervously. Something just didn't add up
"So you're with Leo now?"
"Noooo" I trailed off as she scanned the room planting a small smile on her face "well yes we're taking this whole thing slow I guess" I continued I watched as her face dropped
"Leo doesn't deserve you, you know he bullied you so much in school and at home"
"Yeah but he's forgiven, he's changed"
"But you shouldn't forgive him" she spat. Now showing her frustration
"Ok ok calm down" at this point my mind kind of clicked "why does it bother you?.... Unless.. you like Leonardo don't you? That'd explain why'd you kiss him..." I saw the look on her face. Kind of frightened by her presence. I some how managed to continue with the interrogation "is that why you leaked my photo?" She paused as her eyes started farting side to side
"I um I-I wouldn't do that to you Kenna, I'm your best friend. I've been best friends with you for almost 10 years"
"Don't listen to her crap" Leo walked into my room with Kate running in after him
"Leo I said not to butt in" Kate said. Tobey then waltz in and smiles at me
"Hey Kenna" he waved unphased of the tension, I shot him an awkward smile and waved
"You did not lose your phone Ava don't lie" Leo said whilst clenching her jaw. I looked at Ava and she wouldn't even look at me
"I did y-"
"No you didn't you've been trying to message me the whole time I was gone, you even sent the pics to Jesse...look at my phone" Leo said as he showed me the countless messages and then sticking the phone in front of Ava's face
"Is that true Ava?" I asked
"Leo I can explain" Leo? She should be explaining herself to me not him. Kate and I shared looks
"No, just admit you were the one that leaked the photos it's not that fucking hard"
"Ava?" I asked as she looked at me. As soon as she noticed I was already looking for answers her attention went back to Leo
"Look Leo you can't be with her, a girl like that is going to look so bad"
"Ok Ava I think that's enough" I hear Kate say as she tried to diffuse the situation. Tobey just standing there amuse by the debacle
"No you're going to look bad, what we're you thinking Ava? Are trying to ruin her?? Honestly your so fucking pathetic you're no different to what you were back in school" Leo spat
"Ava I thought we were best friends?" I said softly. I was still trying to make sense of everything
"Best friends? Don't say that, you were so perfect in everyone's eyes. You had the boys practically falling to your feet. But you're not perfect you see, you needed someone to point out your flaws"
"But why would you put me through that Ava?? I've done so much for you"
"The only reason I stuck around is because of the people you knew, the attention you had....like that party for instance do you know how many actors and models I met" I scoffed as I tried to hide my tears. This whole time she was using me to get to other people. How could I be so daft to notice. Leo turned to me and controlled his anger. He walked up to me slowly and wiped my tears
"Are you seriously choosing her over me?! Did you not see the photo Leo? She looks like a fucking cow"
"Just fuck off Ava"
"Stop taking your insecurities out on Kenna, it's not like she's asking for all of this attention on her, she knows people, who the fuck cares, there not going to like you either way"
"Butt out of Kate"
"No I don't think I want to this time, I know all the sly things you've done. The rumours you've made up, the boys you did. Yeh that's right.. Kenna do you that she hooked up with the majority of the guys you've gone on dates with" I looked at Ava with wide eyes. How has she been able to act so normal around me while doing this behind my back
"You're just jealous.....b-both of you are. Kenna you know I had my eyes on Leo and you just had to go in and mess it all up"
"Actually no i didn't, I didn't know until that party" I frowned
"Whatever...Leo I know that kiss meant something you know that too"
"Ava I don't want to see you ever again quite frankly, I only kissed you because I thought it was Kenna"
"That's not true"
"Oh you know it's true honey" Kate chimed in. She kicked up a tantrum
"No this is not happening right now, Leo your so delusional if you think she's perfect, I mean look at her and look at me"
"Delusional it is, just fuck off please"
We all stood there crossed arms as she grabbed her bag and go to leave. Her head hung low as she accidentally ran into tobey
"Bye bitch" he smirked and waved, she just huffed and ran out making sure to slam the door behind her
"I've wanted to do that for so long" Kate sighed
"I just can't believe she leaked the photos, I mean I had an inkling but I just needed her to confirm it"
"You have no idea what that girl is capable of" Kate sighed as she laid on my bed
"You ok?" Leo asked as he ran he hand over my cheek
"I'm fine I kind of expected this to happen just not in this extreme way. I'm just shocked that she was doing so many things behind my back, like I thought she was my best friend but she was just using me to be known"
"Better start believing it" Kate said
"So all of this happened and not one of yous told me?"
"You seem to have it all under control to be honest, we thought you knew what you were doing, and didn't want to get involved" she said as she stared at the ceiling.
Leo gave me a hurt look knowing exactly how much I didn't deal well with everything through school.
"How come every time I see you after a while you seem to be in arguments" tobey spoke up
"It's not like I mean too, I'm sorry guys, I'm just prone to drama by the looks of it"
"Oh no I live for it sometimes" tobey chuckled.
We all found ourselves hanging around the pool, just talking and laughing
"So you won't believe it?!" Kate said, I sent her a smile waiting for her to spill
"I got offered the role in titanic with Leo!"
"No way I'm so happy for you! I heard the production is big though"
"Yeah I'm a bit nervous if you ask me and also they want me to dye my hair red" she pouted
"Ugh thank god I didn't accept the role then. me as a red head wouldn't look great...but you? You'd look so hot with red hair" I said picking up her blonde hair as she laughed
"No, now I have to see Kate everyday for 6 months straight" leo said as he made a cringe face
"Hey its better than having to play with some random" Kate said as she playfully rolled her eyes
"How about you, how's things going? I heard you were going to New York next week"
"Yeah I-" I went to go speak but heard tobey start talking instead
"That's the plan, I've got that short movie starting next week"
"Wait are you going to be in New York??" If he is it'll just be perfect. I wouldn't have to be alone
"Yeah I am actually...why?" I looked at tobey then at Kate who both looked confused. Leo had a cheeky grin on his face
"I haven't told them yet I thought I'd let you tell them yourself"
"Tell us what?" Kate questioned
"Are you filming there too?" I just laughed
"She's gonna be a singer...sorry Kenna I couldn't wait" he said with a wide goofy grin
"Yeah Leo actually got des'ree to hear me sing and they offered me a contract right in the spot, I've got to be in New York for 6 months just to get everything sorted, make music all of that jazz"
"You can sing?" Tobey asked. Why is everyone so surprised when I say that
"You should hear her sing, she's so-"
Leo started going on about my voice to tobey. Poor tobey.
"You have a hold on him" Kate whispered to me as we watched Leo talk "I've never seen him like this, not even kristen" she continued
I looked towards Leo's direction as he gave me a soft smile, i returning the gesture and looking into his eyes that seem to look so blue and vibrant.
