McKennas POV
Jesse and I found ourselves walking along the beach after dinner. We just went to a authentic Mexican restaurant in the city centre, so nothing too fancy. It was really nice
"So how was your first scene for the film?" Jesse asked
"Well... it could've gone better" I replied taking sitting down on the sand
"Oh?" He said questioned taking the spot next to me
"It was a waste of time honestly, Paul and I had to do a kissing scene but they decided the set wasn't working out so we didn't actually complete the scene" Jesse frowned
"You would've enjoyed kissing Paul" I shook my head and laughed
"What?" He said letting out a small laugh "I thought you and Paul had great chemistry?" I scoffed and shook my head
"We do but it's nothing but platonic, I mean I thought he was cute when I met him but he's older than me and I see him as an older brother. It's weird if you ask me" he let out a small laugh and a toothy grin
"Well that's good to hear what about Leonardo though" I shook my head and started to explain our situation from when we were younger to now. I was laying everything out like an open book and started to get annoyed just talking about him
"-so yeh he just kept yelling cut everytime I had to kiss Paul, he's just so unbelievable you know" jesse nodded slowly and raised an eyebrow
"So he kissed your friend thinking it was you, then kept stopping the takes everytime Paul went to kiss you?"
"Yeah pathetic right?" I rolled my eyes
"Are you sure there isn't anything going on between you?" He questioned causing me to widen my eyes
"Hell no, why does everyone think that?"
"Well now that you think of it, at the dinner he didn't seem too happy that I was talking to you, and he must've been really jealous to see you kiss another guy for him to stop you every 5-10minutes, I know I would do the same" he smirked causing me to turn into a tomato
"Is that right?" I raised an eyebrow and he nodded
"Leo doesn't like me like that, theirs nothing going on between us. Just friends that hate each other from time to time"
"Good!" He said as he put an arm around me. I froze and almost died inside. Is he making a move?
"You know I like you McKenna, you're different... I would hate to know if there was something happening between you two" I swallowed. He likes me? Omg he likes me
"Well your good in that department" I softly said. I faces literally centimetres apart but... he didn't kiss me. I sighed and laid my head on his shoulder staring out into the horizon.
It has now been a couple of days since that evening. Jesse and I seeing each other everyday, going out on dates. You could say we were dating. I've barely seen Leo lately due to him having to work on set. I haven't needed to go in as they were working on different scenes. Maybe space is what we need
I decided to go on a little walk to explore the area a little bit more.
"You suck!" I heard yelling. It seems to be coming from the basketball courts. I spotted a red head, dark bouncy hair and a blonde. Dash, harrold and Leo. I walked over
"Hey guys" I chimed in. Getting a response from both dash and harrold but nothing from Leo who was just staring at the floor
"Good you can hop on Leo's team, 2v2" Dash said throwing me the ball. I caught it swiftly then passed it too Harrold
"Nah I'm good" I smiled
"Why are you chicken" Harold said cheekily. Both him and dash running around me making chicken noise. Both me and Leo have each other knowingly looks.
"I don't think you want to do that boys" Leo cut in perking up at the thought
"Oh she doesn't know how to play? We'll go easy" Harold laughed. Dash then coming up behind me and hit the ball out of my hands. Leo shrugged
"What do ya say Kenna" I smirked
"I told you guys, I really don't think you would want to do that" Leo spoke up again. The thing is what dash and Harold didn't know is that I was in a basket ball team practically my whole life until I decided to pursue in acting. Leo and I used to play all the time when we were younger so we had a few tricks up our sleeve
"I guess I have time to play some ball, if that's ok with you Leo" Leo smiled and nodded. As the boys were taking there positions Leo took the chance to whisper to me
"Just like the old times huh" his whisper gave me chills
"Just like the old times" I said agreeingly "do you still remember?" I continued hinting at our usual game plans
"I remember" he said walking away
"Let's crush them" I said laughing
"Ok let's make a deal" Leo spoke out, "whoever gets the most points in 30minutes wins"
"And the losers?" Dash said with interest
"They will have too...." Leo started thoughtfully
"Losers will have to buy winners lunch for a week" I shot out. Leo smirked well knowing that we had this win
"Alright deal" harrold said as he shook Leo's hand
"Bean burrito with extra guac and a side of corn chips... I thought I'd let you know my usual order now" dash spat out to me. I just shrugged
"We'll see" Leo and I smirking at each other
The first game went really quick. They really must've thought I didn't know how to play. I dribbled the ball across the court, spinning around and dodging dash as he tried to get the ball.
"LEO" I said as I threw the ball across to him. The thing is I was really speedy and had strong throws, where Leo was good at catching and shooting making us the perfect team. Harrold was much taller than Leo which made him harder for him to shoot
"KENNA" I caught the ball and just went straight for the shoot.
"HAHA IN YOUR FACE" I chanted in dash's face. Both him and Harrold trying to catch their breaths
"Hey I thought you didn't know how to play" dash huffed
"I never said that nor denied such thing" I smirked. The boys shot Leo a look
"Hey I told you it wasn't a good idea" he threw his hands up in defence
"I think we should reconsider about the whole lunch agreement" Harrold stated
"Why are you chicken?" Leo said teasingly
"Chicken, chicken" we chanted as we ran around them. It was nostalgic to be playing around with Leo like this. I really did miss it and could tell he did aswell
"Ok ok, but we're not being easy from now on... come on dash" we got into our positions and continued to play
25 minutes has now flown by and it was the last 5 minutes. Leo dribbled the ball but dash was too quick and managed to steal the ball. I ran after dash. Thank god for my petite figure because I somehow managed to squeeze in front of him and got the ball
"LEO"
"I CANT HAROLDS GOT ME, JUST GO" Leo yelled out. I looked up and saw that there were no way Harrold was going to let Leo through. Dash was close behind me as I sprinted across the court. I've got no choice. As I got closer to the hoop I jumped and shoot. We all stopped. Me closing my eyes as I heard the ball hit the rim
"WOOHOO" Leo ran around the court
"Dash you just lost to a girl" harrold said shaking his head
"Not my fault she can play" Dash scoffed
Leo ran in and picked me up. Sending me butterflies in my stomach. He spun me around causing me to giggle
"We won" he whispered. We looked into each others eyes our faces only inches apart. Causing me to smile softly. Why do I feel the sudden urge to kiss him?
"Ok lovebirds settle down"
Leo dropped me so quickly that my ass almost feel to the ground. I flattened out my top and he stuck his hands in his basketball shorts as he froze up
"Um good game" he said barely looking at me in the eyes
"Yeh" I said softly. What just happened? My heart was racing but not just because of running around the last hour but because of Leo
*ring ring ring*
I could kiss the person who's breaking this awkward silence
"Hold on its Baz" he jogged off making me cringed at my recent thought
"So what does the lady eat" harrold said poking me in the shoulder
"Hmmm it changes everyday, but I'll keep you updated" I said but trailing off at the end as Leo jogged back to the group
"You won't believe it" we all tuned in as Leo ran his hands through his sweaty hair. Then looked up and made eye contact with me letting it hold for a few moments until harrold nudged Leo's shoulder
"Well spit it out man" he snapped and broke contact and spoke, only trying to avoid the eye contact with me now
"Baz wants to meet with us...I mean just me and Kenna...now" I raised an eyebrow at Leo
"Why..." I cautiously asked. He rubbed the back of his neck
"Paul has just taken another role and will have to cut back on the filming for Romeo and Juliet"
"Ok so it just means we're in Mexico longer than expected, no biggie"
"No he has resigned from the role...he's been casted as Paris now"
"What?"
