This is like the pre shot of 💐1💐 in this series..the story of KM's 4th pregnancy..
Kathir was pacing tensely outside the doctor's room in the gynaecological ward of the hospital..His wife was being examined inside and the doctor performing the checkup literally drove him out of the room..How dare she..
It was his wife of 8 years..his life..mother of his three children..the only reason for everything good in his life..who was being examined inside..he had to be there..but instead he was left pacing back and forth in the hallway with his hands on hips and an angry scowl on his face..no one dare cross his path..even the hospital personnels avoided the hallway..having witnessed the birth of his three kids in that hospital they all knew he will not be a pleasant man to deal with when his wife's health was in question
Kathir glared at his watch again..watch that was gifted by Mullai for his first birthday after their marriage..he sighed caressing the watch thinking of the hardships she had to go thru to get him this gift..they or their marriage was not in a good place when she took all the trouble to make his birthday memorable..they got married under unusual circumstances..he was no match to her in any way..that insecurity always held him back..but not her..if he was happy and contented in his life today..it was all her doing..she had given him every happiness that a man could possibly have..he cant let anything happen to her..
She had been throwing up violently for a whole day..their mother's had tried every bitter concoctions that they knew on her and she had assured him that she will be fine by the morning..but end up vomiting twice during the night..and he had had enough..he literally dragged her to the hospital in the morning..
Now he was waiting outside for only 15 minutes but it felt like an hour..he couldn't take it anymore and was about to pound on the door..when it opened on its own and he was let in..
He went straight to Mullai, who was sitting with a slightly bent head and a small smile and held her hand..
Kathir – Doctor..
He asked hurriedly expecting an explanation..the doctor smiled and replied..
Dr. – Enna Kathir ukkara kuda maateengala..kavala padadeenga..unga Mullaikku onnum illa..healthy ya than irukanga..congratulations Mullai 3 months pregnant ah irukanga..
Kathir mouth hung open..he dropped down with a thud on the chair next to his wife..and turned to look at his wife who lifted her head and smiled at him with a slightly worried expression..
They already had 3 children..true that he wanted 3 mahalakshmis..their son Mughil came as out of syllabus for him..but he wouldn't change anything about their life..they did not plan to have anymore babies..he was very very careful about precautions..he made sure that it was his responsibility..he didn't let her take any pills which make have an effect on her..then how he was thinking when he felt a soft squeeze on his hand..
Mullai – Ennanga..
She called tentatively..their eyes met and his expression softened..he held her hand assuringly and gave her a smile..Mullai exhaled relaxingly..she had been a teeny bit worried about his reaction..even she was having mixed feelings..they were pulled out of their world by the doctor's voice

They left the room and walked out of the hospital in pin drop silence..they both were in their own world..they got on the bike in a bit of a daze..but Kathir didn't make any attempt to start the bike..he looked at Mullai through the mirror and kept smiling at her..What he really wanted to do was to kiss her in joy..Mullai realised his intent and reminded him thru her smiling eyes that they were in the middle of a parking lot and urged him to start the bike..Sighing he obliged and drove his blushing wife home
Mullai went straight into their room and Kathir followed her right behind..she halted in the middle of the room with her back to him
Kathir latched the door and called out softly
Kathir – Mullai..
She just turned and went into his arms crying heavily..He just held her tight letting her to vent out..he knew that she was in shock..happy shock but nevertheless shock..and he also knew she will experience huge mood swings during pregnancy..He made her settle on their bed after she had calmed down a bit and gave her a glass of water..
After sipping on the water Mullai looked up sensing Kathir's intent look on her..she kept looking at him waiting for him to say something..and was startled when he started laughing out loud..
Mullai – Enga..ippo edukku loosu maadiri sirichikittu irukeenga..aiyayo..adirchiyila moolai kozhambidicha ungalukku
She asked worriedly thinking may be he lost him mind at the news..Kathir stopped laughing and said

He asked with a teasing smile..With a thoughtful expression Mullai said
Mullai – Enna nadandhuchu?..hmmm..neenga ippadi sirikira alavukellam naanga onnum pannala..hmmkumm..
Suddenly she turned red remembering something..she gasped hiding her face behind her palms..
Mullai – Aathi...
Kathir started laughing again looking at her expression..
Kathir – Nyabagam vanthuduchu pola..Ha Ha...
Mullai – Aiyo..Summa irukiyala..solli kaatadiga..
She whimpered shyly..making him laugh more harder
3 months back:
It was a Wednesday late afternoon..Kathir and Murugan were not home..Parvathy had gone to pick up their eldest daughter Madhi(6 yr old) from school..Lakshmi was putting their youngest daughter Mamadhi(2 yr old) to sleep..and Mullai was running around their 4 yr old son Mughil around the house..trying to get him to eat his lunch..he was yet to start school..
Kathir with the support of Mullai had expanded his small store into two supermarkets..they were on the verge of starting a new one soon..He had also renovated the small house into a bungalow big enough to accommodate his family of five along with his mother and in-laws..all under the same roof..he had also built a spacious storage area in the backyard..were the goods were stored and packaged under the supervision of Mullai and Lakshmi with the help of a few workers from the neighbourhood
That day they were expecting a delivery of masala packets from a dealer named Giri..they have been dealing with him for a year now..but off late he had gone rogue..he had been delivering late..that too substandard products..Kathir had decided to end the contract with Giri with this final supply for which they had already paid for..This load was supposed to be delivered on Monday and Kathir was supposed to be there..but as usual Giri was late and came on a Wednesday
As they were unloading the goods Mullai realised that the products were not the brand that they had ordered and paid for..

Mullai froze hearing the cruel words..it shook her to the very core..tears clouding her eyes she stood shocked..

She shouted in rage clutching on his collars and shaking him..

One of Mughil's wooden toys had hit him square on the head..and the little boy himself had proceeded to kick the man's legs..
Mullai shook out of her shocked stupor and lifted her protesting son off the man carrying him inside..

She said trying to calm down her son who was still trying to kick and throw punches at the man who made his mother cry..he didn't understand the venomous words spewed by the vile man..he just knew that his mother cried because of him..

Lakshmi entered the room after getting rid of that despicable person

Mullai stood up calmly and replied

Yes their marriage was not a planned one..Kathir and Mullai were cousins..they liked and respected each other but there was no love or hate between them..Pandian dies when Kathir was 13 yrs old..leaving both Lakshmi and Kathir in neck deep debt..they had a small ancestral house and a shop under huge mortage..Murugan and Parvathy helped howmuchever they could..they also had limited finances only..but they made sure to support Lakshmi and Kathir both financially and emotionally..But in a hard turn of events Kathir had to discontinue his studies and indulge in running the shop..on the other hand Mullai was more interested in studies and was a scholarship student who did her schooling and under graduation in Trichy and went on to complete her Post graduation in Chennai..
When she came back to town with a distinction degree and a call letter from a huge MNC..she was followed by a proposal from a prominent wealthy family from Chennai..the groom being Sharath, Mullai's senior from college who had proposed to her multiple times over the years only to hear "Enga appa amma paakura maapillaya dan naan kalyanam pannipen..enna disturb pannadeenga" as the only answer from Mullai..So he involved the parents to make her his..

With great difficulty she dragged both her boys away from the whimpering fellow..but not without a warning from Kathir threatening the man of terrible consequences if he ever dare to speak or even think of speaking bad about his wife again..
Upon entering their home Mullai stormed into her room..and started drying her wet hair rather forcefully..completely ignoring her husband who had followed her right behind..

Mullai just threw her arms around him and pressed her lips against his with fervour..sending a jolt right into his gut..

He said picking her up and carrying her to their bed to finish what she had started.

Mullai started getting angry looking at her laughing husband..remembering the events..

She said hiding into his chest..Kathir made her look up at him and asked softly

Mullai smiled and Kathir kissed her gently..and they just sat there intimately discussing about their new baby
