Preface
of our separate lives,
to the time we reunite.
The flowers in my heart,
start to blossom
at the sight.
The more I think of you,
the more I want to
be with you.
Once my eyes meet yous,
I just want to be with you forever
My mind tells me
to go back to work,
but my heart
aches for you.
I just want you to say
that you love me too.
Though not all tales end happily,
I know that ours will last an eternity ♡︎
My last words of love to you

"Do you really have to leave?"

Sunoo nodded and Sunghoon sighed. The two boys were seated in Sunghoon's room, silent as Sunghoon tried to recap all that Sunoo had just told him.

"So you're going to study in Japan?"

"Yeah... my parents had a job offer in their company but they have to move over to the Japanese branch. I kinda have to follow them"

Sunghoon frowned and looked at Sunoo but the younger was avoiding eye contact.

"I'll miss you Sunghoon hyung... it's only been 2 years since I met you but I feel like it's been at least five years"

The older boy chuckled and brushed his hand through his hair, combing it out of his face.

"Yeah... I'll miss you too, break times will feel empty if it's just me and Jay."

Sunoo laughed and weakly punched Sunghoon's arm.

"Don't fight with him too much alright?"

"Only if you'll come back to stop us"

Sunoo smiled but his eyes shone with tears he tried to hold back.

"I don't know when I'll come back to Korea..."

Sunghoon reached out to hold Sunoo's hand, giving it a light squeeze.

"Whenever you do, we'll find some way to meet up again."

"Hopefully I don't crash into you again"

The two boys burst out laughing as they reminisced about their first meeting.

~*~*~

"Ah! I'm so sorry!!"

Sunghoon stumbled back a little when he felt someone crashing into him. He hugged his computer and his books to his chest, ensuring he wouldn't drop anything. Luckily his grip was strong enough to hold his belongings but the boy who had bumped into him had his papers scattered all over the floor. Sunghoon hastily crouched to help pick them up, catching sight of the boy's student ID laying on the floor tiles.

"Kim Seonwoo..."

The boy in front of him perked up at the mention of his name and took his papers from Sunghoon.

"Thank you so much! I'm so sorry for bumping into you"

Sunghoon shook his head with a smile.

"It's alright, just watch your way next time"

The boy laughed in embarrassment before looking back up at Sunghoon.

"Oh right! Do you know where room A408 is? I'm trying to find my homeroom..."

"Yeah it's on the fourth floor, take this staircase and the classroom should be the second one to your left."

Sunghoon explained and got a joyful response from the other boy.

"Thank you so much!! I'm Kim Seonwoo, a 7th grader. You can call me Sunoo!"

"Ahh... so you're new?"

Sunoo nodded.

"Mhmm! What's your name?"

"Sunghoon, Park Sunghoon. I'm in 8th grade"

Sunoo let out a little gasp.

"Oh, I'm sorry! I shouldn't have been speaking informally!!"

"No no it's fine, you didn't know anyways"

The two boys stood in silence for a while before hearing the obnoxious school bell.

"There goes the bell, you should head to your home room."

Sunoo nodded and smiled gratefully at Sunghoon.

"Thanks for the help Sunghoon hyung! I'll see you around!!"

~*~*~

"You were really clumsy back then"

"Yeah I was but I'm kinda glad I was, I wouldn't have met you if it wasn't for that"

Sunoo smiled brightly before checking the time. His smile shifted into a frown as he realised he had to return home to begin packing his things for the move. He pulled Sunghoon into a hug and held on tight, not wanting to let go.

"I really wish I had a phone so at least we could keep in contact..."

Sunghoon sighed and briefly hugged back before breaking the hug. They walked out into the living room and the older of the two waved goodbye as he held the front door open.

"Bye Sunoo-ah, safe trip to Japan and study hard!"

"You too hyung! Stop daydreaming in class so much!!"

Sunoo teased with a giggle, running away as he saw Sunghoon rolling his eyes.

"Bye Sunghoon hyung!!"

Sunghoon waved one last time before closing the door, letting the reality sink in. His best friend just left him after 2 years of meeting. Now they'll never know when they may meet again...

~*~*~

"Sunghoonie hyung!!"

A voice brought Sunghoon back to reality. He met eyes with an angry-looking dimpled kitten glaring straight at him.

"You said you'd help me with my essay but you're spacing out again!!"

Sunghoon brushed his hair back with his hand and chuckled. He leaned back against the wall as he watched the other boy struggling at his desk.

"Sorry Jungwonie, I'm just thinking about Sunoo again"

"Again?"

Sunghoon hummed and looked to the side. Jungwon sighed and got off the chair, pushing himself up with his hands. The younger boy plopped himself down beside Sunghoon on his bed, pinching his arm while he was at it.

"Oww! Won, what was that for??"

The older rubbed where Jungwon had pinched him, shooting a death glare at the younger. Jungwon just rolled his eyes and took grabbed Sunghoon's phone, which was laying unlocked on his lap. Sunghoon peeked over at what Jungwon was doing to find him opening Sunoo's Instagram dms.

"Here, dm him. I'm sure he still remembers you"

Sunghoon rapidly shook his head and yanked his phone out of Jungwon's grasp, immediately locking it.

"No way! He's famous now, it'd be weird for me to randomly dm him after 7 years!!"

Jungwon groaned in frustration as he grabbed Sunghoon's shoulders, forcing them to make eye contact.

"You keep thinking about him even after 7 years! I've known you for 13 years and I don't recall you ever thinking about me"

"That's because I see you every other week"

Jungwon rolled his eyes and was about to retort but Sunghoon was faster.

"Keep rolling your eyes like that Wonie, maybe you'll find enough brain cells to finish your essay-"

"Hyung, please shut up. I beg you"

Jungwon picked up a pillow and threw it at Sunghoon's face. He settled back down at his desk and opened up the essay document he was working on. Jungwon sighed as he looked back at his old friend.

The two of them met when they were children, Jungwon was 5 and Sunghoon was 6. Their mothers were college friends so when Jungwon's mother offered to bring him over, Sunghoon's mother didn't object at all. They always went to different schools but the two boys would see each other at least once every other week when their mothers wanted to enjoy a drink or two. Jungwon knew about Sunoo, he could still remember the smile Sunghoon wore whenever he spoke of Sunoo. Though he had never personally talked to Sunoo himself, he knew a lot about the boy from what Sunghoon had told him.

Now Sunghoon is almost 20 and in his second year of uni, majoring in business while Jungwon is 18 and in his final year of high school. About 6 months ago, Jungwon found out that Sunoo-the very same one Sunghoon knew back in highschool-was now internet famous. Apparently, he had begun by posting random photos on Instagram during his high school days which gave him a solid following. Of course, Jungwon being the good friend he is, told Sunghoon about it. Only for him to find out his childhood friend is a painfully awkward person, even online.

"Jungwon-ah, staring at my wall won't help you with your essay"

Jungwon groaned and let his head fall onto the table, making a small thump.

"Hyung, you make me want to bash my head into a wall"

"If you do, just make sure it's not my wall"

"You're insufferable"
