Before proceeding with the rest of the story I had to clarify few things. I try to give both Billy and Steve enough screen time but right now I'm exploring more of Charlie and Billy. They are not going to be an ideal relationship. There are going to be toxic cycles but I'm in no way supporting or romanticizing toxic relationships.
Billy and Charlie, have gone through similar trauma and they have similar issues, hence problems are inevitable. You're going to dislike both of them at some points. I want my characters to be as realistic as possible. I make them flawed amd messy and sometimes irrational because we all are. Imperfections are human. So are mistakes.
About Steve and Charlie, they have definitely a healthier dynamic but that does not make them perfect either. Steve is also a flawed person, but a constantly developing character. He, by far, has had the best development in the show and I plan to keep it going in this book.
