"I don't know how to thank you enough, Percy," Eddie says to me, trying to keep himself awake. He wheezes the next words out, "I know we got off on the wrong foot, but I hope we can start over as friends."
I nod at him, "I'd be glad to call you my friend."
"Appre-appreciate it," he pats my arm before adjusting himself up with some pillows. "One more thing."
"Woah there, already asking me for a favor?"
He chuckles, "Can you grab Iris for me? I've been meaning to ask her something. I wanted to ask her the night on the pier, but it didn't exactly go as planned."
"You're proposing aren't you? I saw the ring. I'm sorry, I showed it to Iris so she already knows about it," I wail out, immediately regretting my decision.
"Oh, hah, don't worry about it," he seems I bothered by my actions, and I felt relieved. "But did she seem happy about it? Like she'd say yes?"
"Oh, dude, you should've seen her. She's totally going to say yes," I grin, patting Eddie on the arm.
I'm about to leave the medbay when Eddie beckons me over. "I was just curious, but how did you know where I was? I mean, I was told that you were giving Iris a tour of the building but you just suddenly came down to the basement."
"I actually don't really know. I've been thinking about it a lot and I believe it's because since humans are made up of water, I must've sensed you down there or something. But I've never been able to do something like that so I'm unsure of what happened."
"Well, whatever did happen, I am truly grateful."
I just smile at him, a genuine smile. And I jump off the steps and into the Cortex where Iris sat with Caitlin, looking down at the computers.
"Hey, Eddie wants to talk to you 'bout something," I tap her shoulder and her head whips around. Her eyes widened.
"Is he okay? Does he need something?" She asks worriedly, suddenly standing up.
"Oh! No, he's fine, he just wants to talk to you," I shut myself up before I reveal anything else to her. I bite the insides of my cheeks to keep myself from smiling.
I watch as Iris walks into the medbay where Eddie sat up in his bed. I can't hear what they're saying from where I stood, but I could make out what they were saying with their lips. I'm a great lip-reader.
Eddie said, "I hate you rub me free."
Iris replied, "No! Wait, I believe in your bed."
Eddie smiles, "Bill is a fairy hehe."
I frown at myself. I don't think I'm a great reader of lips after all.
They talked for a bit and another went by five minutes without anything happening. I was getting bored and was about to walk away but a all of a sudden, Iris' hand flies to her mouth. She smiles and hugs Eddie who winces in pain but his pain seems to subside quickly because his face is full of joy.
Barry walks up to me with his arms crossed, "What's up with them?"
My eyes widened. I totally forgot I was supposed to be rooting for Iris/Barry not Iris/Eddie.
I slowly turn from looking at the medbay to looking at Barry. "Well, uh, you see-"
"WE'RE ENGAGED!" Iris shouts out to the room, and even from afar, I could feel the happiness radiate off of her. She was beaming from ear to ear, and Caitlin ran up to her, squealing as she saw the ring on her finger.
I turn to Barry who's face was red. He quickly turns away, trying to hide, but I already saw. "Hey, Barry, are you-"
"I'm fine, really," he said before rushing out of the room. Everyone else was distracted to even notice, but I didn't know what to do.

I found Barry in another room, not far from the Cortex.
"You okay?" I ask my friend who turns to me, shocked to see that I followed him.
"Is it bad that I'm not happy that my best friend is engaged? Does that make me a bad friend, Percy? Because I feel like shit about it. Truly." He shoved his hands in his pockets, another indication that he wasn't fine.
"No, Barry, stop with this. Right now, yeah, Iris loves Eddie and Eddie loves Iris. But just because you're feeling this way doesn't make you a bad friend or even a bad person. It's normal. I mean, if Annabeth got engaged with another guy, yeah, I'd be pissed off too."
Barry just looks at me.
"And who knows, maybe things will change in your favor, hm?" I stick my hand out, and after a moment, Barry grabs my hand and I pull him off the couch he was sitting on.
"Yeah, maybe."

Back in the big room, Cisco comes to greet us once again but it's as if he also forgot that his best friend had a crush on the girl who just got engaged.
I begin to make a big deal on trying to catch Cisco's attention quietly from behind Barry, in an attempt to shut him up before he talks about Iris. I shake my head furiously, staring intensely at Cisco. It was only until I was starting to get dizzy from the head shaking that he noticed what I was doing.
"Wha-" he begins to say before realizing what I was trying to say. I'm making a big fuss, and I'm surprised that Barry hasn't turned around to see the commotion but he seems to be in a weird state of mind at the moment.
"Huh?" Barry finally snaps back to reality and turns to me. Luckily, I stopped doing what I was doing.
"Hm? Nothing?" I say innocently. Cisco snorts, catching Barry's attention.
"Huh?" Barry asks again.
"Nothing! It's just that, uh, I was wondering if you had a plan yet. On how to catch the Reverse Flash."
"A plan?" Caitlin asks, walking up to us. "Do we have one yet?"
"No, Caitlin," Cisco hisses. "That's what I was asking before you so kindly interrupted."
She just rolls her eyes.
"No, we don't have a plan, but I could search the city again. Or we could interrogate Eddie again, see if he can remember anymore now that he's in the right state of mind."
"We could do that," Caitlin nods in agreement. Barry looks at everyone for approval before bobbing his head up and down as well.
"All right, then. Let's go ask the detective some questions."

"He called himself Eobard Thawne," Eddie explains to us, "as in my last name Thawne. I don't know why or even how but he's from the future. He also mentioned that he finally acquired the key for something? He didn't say what for."
"He's from the future? Is that even possible?" Caitlin exclaims and Barry and I give her a deadpanned look.
"You're looking at a man who can run at super-speed and a seventeen-year-old kid who can control water, at this point, I'm not even surprised with anything anymore," I say.
"Okay, yes, I realize that. But time-traveling is- is a area where no one has ever really mastered, I mean, how? How could he have done it?"
"Wait, wait, I'm doing the math in my head and if he achieved a particular level of speed, and I mean, this would have to be crazy fast. Like Mach-level fast-"
"Uh, English please," I interrupt.
Cisco sighs but Caitlin answers my question. "The Reverse flash would have to run very fast to time-travel. Like Cisco said, Mach 1 is speed of sound. Which is extremely fast. Not even Barry can reach that type of speed."
"Wait, but I wonder what the key is for. You sure he didn't mention what the key was?" Barry turned to Eddie who shook his head.
"Sorry, but no. But the crazy thing is, it wasn't even an actual key. It was some glow-y cylinder thing."
"Any ideas to what that might be?" Caitlin asked to nobody in particular but Cisco furrowed his eyesbrows in response.
"That doesn't remind me of anything, sorry guys."
"Hey, no need to apologize. We just need a plan to defeat this guy," I say, patting Cisco in the shoulder.
"He's right. Wells- I mean, Eobard, he knows every one of us. He knows the way we fight, our flaws, and our strengths. He has the upper-hand here. We need to catch him when he's off-guard. We need to throw him something that he won't expect from us, but I'm not sure what that could possibly be," Barry exclaims.
I thought for a moment. I had an idea in the back of mind. But I wasn't exactly sure if I should mention it to the group. I mean, if I do this, it will most definitely give away that I'm not a metahuman. But at the same time, it could really help us in this fight.
I sighed before reluctantly speaking up. "I have an idea."
