Still with Tyler, Matt, and Jeremy...
"Ty, once this guy pops out, we have no idea when you'll come back again." Matt tells him.
"Some freak is inside my body. He took over my life. God only knows what he's got planned for me. Unless you've got a better idea... this is what we're doing. He'll have the answers." Tyler said, nodding to himself.
Tyler released a breath.
"Okay, let's do this." Matt said and spoke the word to bring Tyler's Passenger forward.
Tyler's eyes turned black, and he closed his eyes. Julian gasped. He backed away from them, hitting a wall, and looked at the chains. He tries to break the chains.
"Who are you? Where am I?" Asked Julian.
"Where's Markos?" Matt asked.
"Go to hell." Julian says.
"To answer your question, my name is Matt, and you, Julian, are inside my best friend's a.k.a., your own personal hell." Matt tells me.
Jeremy shook the bottle and Matt grabbed Tyler's head and Jeremy poured some of the mixture into his mouth.
Julian grunted and Matt kept hold of his head. Matt and Jeremy backed away and Julian yelled, bending over.
Later, Markos stood at their new campsite when he saw Maria...
"Maria. Julian's your husband. Why didn't you realise he wasn't in control of the body?"
"He'd only been called out for a few hours. I've never seen a host re-emerge so quickly." She said.
He scoffed.
"You've never seen a hybrid before, either. Find him."
"And make him permanent. As for the rest of you... I see a lot of walking when I should be hearing chanting. Find me the doppelgängers."
Luke was sitting outside on the porch, and he chanted in his head, guarding the doppelgängers.
Inside the house, Ellie was doing an action...
"Uh, okay, uh, think. Uh, ponder. Uh, brain." Stefan said, trying the words that came to his head.
Ellie pulled a silly face at Stefan.
"Uh, I don't know. Um..." Stefan says.
Ellie pretended to hang some rope or string above her head.
"Uh, skull." Stefan says, guessing correct.
"Yes." Ellie said, jumping up and down.
"All right. Skull. Skull." Stefan says.
Ellie moved on to the next action.
"Uh, I don't know." Elena says.
"Uh, limb. Joints. Uh, bones." Said Stefan.
Ellie pointed at him, smiling.
"Bone. Bone. Skull and bones." Stefan said, holding his hands up.
Ellie squealed loudly and clapped her hands.
"Skull and bones." Stefan said.
"You got it." Ellie said, plopping down on his lap.
"Five-zero. Five-zero." Stefan tells them.
"Okay, let's play a game called Never Have I Ever, hmm?" Damon asked.
Caroline and Elena looked at Damon.
"I don't think I'm drunk enough." Said Ellie.
"Come on, it'll be fun." Elena, Damon, and Caroline say.
"I'll go first. Never have I ever... died." Elena said.
"Pfft. Cheers to that one." Damon said.
Ellie, Caroline, Stefan, and Damon all drank.
"Never have I ever been, um, possessed by my evil doppelgänger." Stefan said.
"Pfft. Mean." Ellie said, taking a swig of her drink. "Never have I ever been fooled by my evil doppelgänger... while she pretended to be me."
"Ah." Stefan said, groaning.
"Low blow." Caroline says.
"Tough, but fair." Said Damon.
"That's very mean, El." Stefan says.
Ellie snickered.
"Never have I ever kissed Damon Salvatore or Stefan Salvatore." Elena said.
Ellie frowned.
"What are these? You got yourself to drink." Ellie said, laughing, raising her glass.
"Today." Elena says.
Ellie lowered her glass, looking at Stefan. She took a sip of her drink.
"I'm gonna get another round. Does anybody-?" Ellie asked.
"Never have I ever lied about where Enzo is." Said Damon.
Stefan and Ellie looked at each other.
"Okay, what is going on?" Elena asked.
"Nothing, obviously. Nobody's drinking." Stefan says.
"Clearly, you two know the rules of the game, right? If you lie, you drink." Damon tells them.
"We're not stupid, Damon." Ellie says, scoffing. "We understand the rules. This just got weird. I'm officially buzzed. I'm going to go and get ready for bed. See you up there, Stefan."
She got up from his lap and walked upstairs.
"I could certainly do with another round." Damon said, standing up.
Upstairs, Ellie filled up the bath...
She wore a towel around her naked body, and she placed bubbles in the bath.
She stands in front of the mirror, wiping the mist off the mirror.
"Avoiding, are we? Nothing a hot bath won't fix. Wash the guilt straight down the drain." Enzo said, standing in the bathroom with her.
She turned the taps off and removed the towel before getting into the bath.
She lay back and tried to relax. Enzo reappeared and dunked her head under the water.
Her hands moved about, and she tried to reach the surface, and he pushed her back down.
"Stefan!" She shouted.
He held her under again. She managed to reach the surface.
"Damon!" She shouted.
Stefan kicked the door down and Stefan and Damon rushed in.
They saw water flying everywhere and Ellie under the water.
"Ellie!" Stefan shouted, running over, and her head popped out of the water.
She coughed and breathed heavily, and she gripped onto Stefan's arm.
Stefan grabbed a towel and quickly wrapped it around her body.
"Come here. Hold on. What happened?" Stefan asked.
"There was someone in here." Ellie said, looking around, looking really freaked out.
Stefan held the towel around her body and Damon looked around the bathroom.
"Who?" Damon asked.
"I don't know. I didn't see anyone. But I could feel someone pushing me under the water." Ellie said, panicking.
Stefan placed his hand against her cheek.
"Okay. I'd blame it on the spirit of Bill Forbes. I don't think you're his type. Besides, why would a ghost be targeting you?" Damon asked.
Ellie's eyes widened, looking at Stefan.
"Hey, Ellie." Damon says.
"Stefan." Ellie says.
"What? Hey." Stefan says, placing his hand against her face.
Back with Tyler, Matt, and Jeremy...
Matt held Tyler's head and Jeremy poured some more of the wolfsbane and vervain into his mouth.
Julian groaned, bending over and he coughed.
"There's plenty more where that came from. Where's Markos?" Matt asked.
"What does it matter to you?" Julian asked.
"He wants to kill my sister. I wanna stop him." Jeremy tells him.
Julian chuckled loudly.
"You're a fool. Markos destroyed your only weapon against Passengers like me. And there's no way you'd kill your best friend." Julian says.
Jeremy stepped back and Matt looked at Jeremy. Julian looked between them.
Matt walked over to him and stabbed the knife into his upper stomach.
Julian groaned.
"You're right. I don't plan on killing you. I do plan on getting my answers. Where is Markos?!" Matt asked, shouting.
Julian's panted heavily and Matt pulled the knife out.
Matt went to stab him again when he held his hands up.
"Stop!" Shouted Julian.
Matt stopped in his tracks, looking at Julian.
"I can't tell you where Markos is because I don't know. But I can tell you where my body is." Julian tells them.
"Why do we care?" Jeremy asked.
"Because Markos doesn't like problems. And your boy escaping camp means he's Markos' problem." Julian says.
"So?" Matt asked.
"So knowing Markos... he's gonna wanna get rid of Tyler for good by making this my body. Permanently."
Upstairs, Bonnie was on the phone to Stefan...
Bonnie: "Stefan, hey. Remind me why I passed on the cloaking spell party again?"
Stefan: "It's not exactly a relaxing getaway. Listen, are things getting worse on the other side?"
Bonnie: "Why?"
Stefan: "Because something attacked Ellie while she was in the bath. Is it possible that someone over there could physically affect this plane?"
Bonnie: "Actually, yeah. My Grams knocked a lamp right off my desk today. I doubt it's easy, but if someone were emotional enough..."
Stefan: "Enzo."
"Enzo's dead?" Caroline asked.
Stefan hung up and turned around to see Caroline.
"Yeah, I, um... I killed him to protect Ellie." Stefan said.
"My powers of deduction really suck. Why didn't you say anything?" She asked.
"Because it's complicated." Said Stefan.
"Enter the complication. Enzo's dead. You killed him. Elena told me. She heard you and Ellie talking." Damon says.
"So you didn't know, either?" She asked.
"Nope." Damon said.
"And their secret really was about Enzo." She said.
"Yep." Damon tells her.
"You guys think we could, um, talk about this some other time?" Stefan asked.
"By all means, brother, at your convenience." Damon tells him.
"Look, the other side is falling apart. It's allowed Enzo to mess with us."
"Enzo." Damon said, looking around. "You in here?"
"I don't think I'd miss this." Enzo said, sitting in a chair.
"Because, knock it off." Damon tells him.
"It doesn't make any sense. If Enzo wanted to kill Ellie, drowning her wouldn't have worked." She says.
"Smart girl." Enzo said.
"Maybe he's trying to scare us." She tells them.
"Warmer. Come on. You've almost got it. What is Enzo up to?" Enzo asked.
"He knew we'd all try to help Ellie. Drowning Ellie was just a distraction." Stefan said.
"He figured out a way to kill us all in one fell swoop." Damon said, running to the front door.
Caroline and Stefan followed him.
They all ran out the front door to see Luke gone.
"Crap. Where's Luke?" Asked Stefan.
"Who knows?" Damon asked.
"We better find him before the Travelers finds us." Stefan says.
With the Travelers, they were chanting, and they tried to find the doppelgängers...
"Stop." Markos says.
The Travelers stopped chanting.
"I found them." Said Markos.
A few minutes later, Ellie, Elena, and Caroline came out of the cabin and Ellie zipped up her jacket...
"Luke!" Elena and Caroline shouted.
Luke! Where are you?!" Ellie asked, shouting.
The three girls walked into the woods.
"Maybe, Luke... you're upset." Ellie said, looking at Caroline and Elena.
"I'm not upset. Just looking for Luke." Caroline says.
"You know, Luke, who was here to protect you and Stefan? Luke, who's now missing because you and Stefan lied about where Enzo is." Elena said.
"And now the Travelers can find you and do their spell to wipe us all off the face of the earth."
"I was worried if Damon found out that..." Ellie said.
"He'd flip out? And spiral, and kill a bunch of innocent people?" Elena asked.
"That he'll try to kill Stefan, okay? I get you two are mad, but I was just trying to protect Stefan." Ellie said, looking around the small woods.
"We, however, are not Damon. So, the fact that you lied to us about it makes less sense." Caroline tells her.
"I didn't wanna put you both in an awkward position." Ellie said.
"Because it wasn't awkward when we pretty much accused you and Damon of making out again." Elena says.
"Actually, yes, it was. Where did you even come from with that?" Ellie asked.
Elena looked at Caroline and Caroline looked down.
"I have no idea." Elena said.
"Well, are you both over it?" Ellie asked.
"Yes." Elena and Caroline say.
"Good. Let's find Luke." Ellie said, walking away.
Stefan and Damon were walking and looking for Luke...
"You need to know why I lied to you."
"Nope, I don't." Damon said.
"Damon, come on."
"Just cut to the chase, Stefan. I'm not in a "hash-out-our-differences" mood. Yes, I'm pissed you killed Enzo. I'm even more pissed that you two lied about it. You know what, Stefan, if it was me in your shoes, I would've done it too, except I would've done it months ago. So, the fact that you took this long..." Damon says.
"He was your friend. What did you expect me to do?"
"Yes, Stefan, he was my friend. Which is why I, above anyone else, should've known that he was dead. Let's just find the stupid witch." Damon tells him.
Later, Bonnie and Jeremy were walking in some tunnels...
"Of course, the creepy Travelers are hiding their bodies in creepy caves." She said.
"Try to think of them as romantic Travelers in romantic caves... since we're technically still on our date weekend."
"Right." She says, signing softly, shining the light, walking further into the caves.
They both stood still, and she shone the light on the countless bodies.
"Oh, my God. All these Travelers are passengered inside people in Mystic Falls." She says.
"I take it back. This is creepy."
Back with Stefan and Damon...
"What'd you think I was gonna do?"
"What are you talking about?" Stefan asked.
"When I found out Enzo was dead, Going on a rampage? Slaughter a bunch of innocent people. Go bowling with human heads? What'd you think I was gonna do?"
"Hate me. I thought you would, uh, hate me. And Ellie. Seeing how I killed him to protect her."
They both heard a thud nearby and looked at the shed in front of them.
"You hear that?"
"Yeah. Come on." Stefan said, walking towards the shed.
Stefan opened the door to the shed and saw Luke unconscious, tied to a wooden pole. Stefan quickly walked over and Damon entered.
Stefan checked on Luke and checked his pulse.
"He's barely breathing." Stefan says.
"Why the hell would Enzo dump him here?"
"I don't know." Stefan tells Damon.
Damon sniffed up and he began sniffing quickly.
"Smell that?"
Stefan looked around, seeing a gas can, and Enzo was standing by the light.
Enzo ripped the light off, causing a spark to set a fire.
Damon and Stefan stared at the fire. Stefan stared at Damon, and they saw the fire spreading quickly.
"Grab him. Let's go." Damon said.
Stefan quickly began untying the rope around Luke's wrist.
Damon turned to the door, and it slammed in his face. Enzo was standing behind Stefan and stabbed a pole right through Stefan's stomach.
Stefan screamed and Damon turned around to see Stefan.
"Dick move, Enzo." Damon called out.
Stefan grunted, standing up. His hands were around the pole. A piece of wood fell down between Stefan and Damon. Enzo appeared in front of Damon.
Enzo placed a giant rock against Damon's stomach, pinning him against the door. Damon groaned.
"If only this wasn't totally unavoidable." Damon says.
"Really? Now you're doing I-told-you-so's?" Stefan asked, groaning, trying to remove the pole.
"This isn't gonna stop, Stefan. I killed his girl. You killed him. This isn't gonna stop."
"He's right. I like poetic justice. Damon Salvatore and his murderous brother die a fiery death." Enzo said.
"Are you listening to me, Enzo?" Damon asked.
Enzo pressed the rock harder against his stomach.
"Is that a yes or a no? Because I can bring you back." Damon says.
Stefan looked up at Damon.
"Bonnie came back. Markos came back. I'll find a way. But this has to stop. How do you think you're able to do all this stuff, huh? The other side's falling apart, Enzo. You could either help me, or you could blink out of existence. It's your choice." Said Damon.
Stefan grunted, and he got the pole out of his stomach.
"Go, Stefan. Get Luke out of here. He's the only one that can hide you and Ellie." Damon said, groaning.
Stefan quickly kneeled down, untying the rope around Luke's wrist, looking to see if the fire had blocked him from seeing Damon.
"Stefan. Go now!" Damon shouted.
"Come on." Stefan said, pulling Luke up.
Luke began coughing, Luke and Stefan walked to the exit.
"Go on." Stefan says.
Enzo watched Stefan and Luke make it to the exit and pulled the rock away from Damon.
Stefan kicked the wood, and it gave through, and Stefan was pulling Luke's body with him.
Enzo stepped closer to Damon.
"Don't let me down again."
Enzo disappeared, and Damon looked around at the fire spreading. He sped out, and the roof began collapsing.
Back with Bonnie and Jeremy, they had searched most of the bodies looking for Julian's body...
"Are you sure Julian has an eagle tattoo?"
"That's what he said." He said.
She kneeled down, shining the flashlight on a tattoo.
"I'm pretty sure that's a dove." He said, laughing softly.
"Or a really cute, cute eagle. Moving on."
"I'm sorry. This is the worst date ever." He tells her.
"We're together. In a cave of semi-conscious Travelers who want to take over our town. It could be worse, right?"
"Right. It could be." Maria said.
Jeremy raised his crossbow and fired an arrow at her, missing her.
The Travelers behind her began chanting.
Suddenly, Jeremy lowered the crossbow and grabbed his throat, and he gasped.
"Jeremy? Jeremy!" Bonnie shouted, kneeling beside him.
"He may be a hunter, but you'd be surprised at how easy it is to restrict a man's airways."
"Please stop." Said Bonnie.
Maria looked back at the Travelers, who continued chanting.
"Stop! Jeremy. Jeremy." Bonnie says.
Jeremy saw Julian's body and saw the eagle on his arm.
The Travelers took the body and left.
"Stop!" Bonnie shouted.
Back at the cabin, Stefan had set Luke down on the stairs to catch his breath...
"Feeling okay?"
Luke chuckled softly. "Liv and I should've killed you and Ellie. When we had the chance."
"Yeah, well, you didn't, and uh, we don't understand why, but thank you."
"Yeah, let's just say... my family's pretty screwed up. Not a whole lot of compassion. You guys are different. You protect each other."
"We still need you to protect me and Ellie. Why don't you get your stuff... and, uh, we can get the hell out of here."
"Yeah." Luke said, standing up and walking upstairs.
Stefan signed and Damon walked through the front door.
"I guess Enzo bought it."
"Bought what?" Damon asked, grabbing his bag and the bottle.
"Bringing him back. How do you plan on doing that?"
"Markos found his way back. It's not impossible. Unless you want him terrorising us for the rest of eternity." Damon said.
"Not particularly, no. Uh, look, I know that..."
Damon punched Stefan across the face and Stefan grunted, and his body fell on the floor.
"Damon!" Ellie shouted, walking over to Stefan.
"I had to do that. For Enzo. It's the last time you'll hear about it from me. It's finished. We don't talk about it." Said Damon.
"Damon." Elena says.
Damon turned around to look at Elena.
"There was no need for that." Elena said.
Damon walked out of the cabin. Ellie, Stefan, and Elena all looked at one another.
Later, Tyler came back...
"What do you mean you lost Julian's body?" Tyler asked.
"You-slash-he was right. The Travelers wanted it." Bonnie tells him.
"But we'll find it. We just need to figure out where they went." Jeremy said.
"Hold on. What do they need his body for?" Tyler asked, looking between them.
They all stayed silent, looking at Tyler.
"Guys, talk to me. Why did they take it?" Asked Tyler.
"I think... I think they're gonna do the same thing they did when one of the Travelers made Katherine permanent in Ellie's body." Said Bonnie.
Suddenly, Tyler grunted, grabbing his head. Tyler started getting flashes of his life.
When he was dating Ellie and Caroline.
Tyler grunted, falling to his knees.
"Ty, what's wrong?" Matt asked.
"I'm seeing things. My life. When I was dating Ellie and Caroline." Tyler tells them.
"Isn't that the same thing Ellie said she saw when Katherine took over her body?" Jeremy asked.
Tyler grunted and yelled, and he saw himself handing the Travelers' knife over to Markos.
"I don't know what's happening. It's like I'm seeing his life." Tyler said, screaming.
"They've started the spell to make Julian permanent." Bonnie says.
"Make it stop. Make it stop!"
Suddenly, everything stopped and Tyler was on his knees, panting heavily.
Jeremy kneeled down and placed his hand on Tyler's shoulder.
"Tyler." Jeremy says.
Tyler's head shot up and Jeremy got to his feet.
Tyler's eyes were black. His eyes closed and he gasped, opening them. Tyler stood on his feet, panting.
"I take it you didn't find my body." Julian said, smiling.
Later, Caroline was standing in front of the shed that was still burning when Stefan and Ellie walked over...
"Never have I ever... I had a ghost try to burn Stefan alive." Ellie said.
Caroline chuckled softly.
"Drink." Caroline tells him.
Caroline turned to them, smiling softly.
"Come on. Car's packed. We gotta get out of here." Stefan said.
"Ellie, we're friends, right? We tell each other things, trust each other." Caroline said.
"I'll give you two a minute. Try to be quick. No doubt the Travelers know where we are." Stefan said, walking away.
Ellie turned around to look at her.
"Caroline, it's not because I didn't trust you."
"It's just that you trusted Stefan more to protect him. I get it. Of course, you would. It just sucks to be left out of the loop, you know?" Caroline asked.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'll tell you things that I don't tell him."
Caroline scoffed, crossing her arms over her chest. "Like what?"
Ellie snickered softly.
"Like you've got dirt on your face. No, but seriously, maybe I didn't want anyone to know he killed Enzo."
"Why?" Asked Caroline.
"Because I know you... you and Enzo had that weird, creepy chemistry thing going on."
Caroline looked at her.
"Oh, please. You're delusional." Caroline said, shoving Ellie slightly.
"Okay. I didn't want you all to think less of him because he had to kill Enzo to protect me. Like, he shouldn't have to kill anyone to protect me."
"But... Stefan will always protect you. It's kind of like your and his thing." Said Caroline.
"Oh, my God. I knew you were listening."
Ellie laughed softly, shaking her head.
"No, but seriously. You've got a good boyfriend there. He'll do just about anything to protect you. You should hold on to him with both arms clenched."
Ellie smiled softly.
"Okay. Let's go." Caroline said.
"I'll, uh, I'll meet you by the car in a minute. I just need a moment alone."
"Okay, be quick." Caroline said, walking away.
Ellie turned around, looking at the burning shed and she breathed heavily.
Stefan was walking in the woods when he stopped. He frowned, looking behind him.
Later, Damon opened the boot of his car when Elena walked out...
"Hey."
"Hey, we're leaving. Pack your stuff." He said.
"I will. I just came out to see how you're doing."
"I'm in a hurry. You should be, too. The Travelers will find us. That means they can find Stefan and Ellie." He said, placing a bag in the boot.
"So that's it? We're not going to talk about this?"
"What's there to talk about?" He asked, turning around to look at her.
"I'm sorry, Ellie lied to you."
"I don't care that she lied. Really." He tells her.
"Okay. Why are you being like this?"
"Because Ellie was right, Elena. She wanted to protect me, so I wouldn't spiral. Because if I spiraled, then it would prove that we shouldn't be together. But I didn't spiral. Despite every nerve in my body wanting to break something or hurt someone... or do all the wrong things for all the right reasons..." He said.
"She was just trying to protect Stefan too. She knows you'd have tried to kill him, and Damon, she wasn't wrong. You wanna hurt him."
"I'm holding it together the best I can..."
"For you." He says
"But you're still mad at Ellie."
"Of course, I'm still mad at Ellie. But she can understand why it drives me nuts being around you. And not being around you drives me nuts." He tells her.
She closed her eyes, shaking her head.
"Okay, now I'm really confused."
He stood up straighter and turned to her, looking at her.
He took a deep breath, walked to her, and kissed her.
They pulled away after a few seconds.
"What was that for?"
"Because I've had a really crappy day. And I needed it." He said, walking back towards the house.
Elena stayed standing there, staring ahead.
Back with Ellie, she was still standing watching the fire burn the shed...
Suddenly, Ellie began grunting, grabbing her head. She yelled.
The Travelers came out of the woods and walked towards Ellie.
She grunted and Markos appeared behind her, grabbing her from behind.
"Hello, gorgeous." Markos says.
Ellie's eyes closed and she passed out.
