Chapter 124 - XingXing made a complain (2)
The other end of the phone fell silent for a little while before Jiang MingYuan heard a response. "That's no such thing. You are overthinking it."
As though she was trying to cover something up, the woman on the other end of the phone immediately yawned and said to him, "I'm tired. Let's talk some other time."
"Wait." Jiang MingYuan stopped her before she hung up. "I want to discuss something with you. Can I leave a few sets of clothes over at yours?"
"No..." Cheng Huan rejected him without even thinking about it.
The man didn't seem too embarrassed being rejected. He merely continued, "Since I'm the father of the child, I should participate more. The situation like last time can happen again and it'd be easier if I can have a change of clothes over at your place. Don't worry, I won't bring over too much and they won't take up too much room."
His words made a lot of sense but Cheng Huan still resent the idea. "Haven't you already brought over one set yesterday?"
"I'm short a coat and slippers." Jiang MingYuan reacted quickly. He asked tentatively, "Perhaps I can bring them with me the next time I come over?"
"There's no need to bring over slippers." Cheng Huan felt that that might be a bit much. "I can just buy them over here. What size do you wear?"
"I thank you in advance then." The voice from the other end sounded happy. "I wear size 43 shoes."

After hanging up the call, Cheng Huan looked at her cellphone and was uncertain how did she ended up promising to buy him slippers.
Frowning, she tossed her phone aside with irritation. She ran her fingers through her hair repeatedly till she looked like a mad person.
She had somewhat returned to normal after she had let out a lot of her emotions. She brought with her her wash cloth and squeezed out toothpaste to wash up. She applied a facial mask before she finished washing up and went to bed. Just when she had lifted up the blanket to crawl inside, she got back up as thought something had occurred to her. She pulled out the clothes lying inside the bag in the corner and hung them up on hangers.
The clothing was what she had bought herself. Cheng Huan hung up the tee shirt, sweater, and finally, the pants. Lying on the very bottom was a pair of underwear.
Hanging up the clothes, she pulled out the last piece of clothing item. The fabric of the underwear felt very comfortable and the folds on it clearly stated that fact that it was brand new.
Cheng Huan pursed her lips and remembered that there was still another pair of underwear in the box that she had bought. For some inexplicable reasons, she wanted to compare the two of them.
She dug out the other pair from the box and laid it over the one in her left hand. Sure enough, the crotch area of the one in her left hand was noticeably bigger.
So he wasn't lying. After she was done with her comparison, Cheng Huan nodded to herself and waved the two pairs of briefs in her hand. Then, stopping herself abruptly, she tossed them both like they were burning her hands.
What had gotten into her?!
Cheng Huan had no idea why she did what she did. Even she felt that she had gone insane thinking about what she had done. Blushing, she shoved the smaller pair back into the box and toss both the box and the pair of briefs into the trashcan. As for the pair that Jiang MingYuan had brought over, she tossed it casually into a paper bag. Out of sight, out of mind.

As much as she didn't want to, but Cheng Huan wasn't going to go back on her words. She went to the supermarket the next day to buy slippers for Jiang MingYuan.
The slipper section was a shelf about 4 meters in length with pairs and pairs of cotton slippers. Both men and women ones.
There weren't a lot of pretty styles to choose from in the supermarket but they'd do. Cheng Huan went over the men's section and picked a pair that looked alright. Then she looked for a worker at the supermarket and see if they also had sandals. After all, he couldn't possibly wear cotton slippers into the shower.
