Raine sat against the wall, the smell of stale linen flooded their nose. Despite the circumstances they found it somewhat calming. Their eyes had been trained on Y/N for a while, as the tubes that were keeping her alive seemed to move softly.
If Raine had been told they would watch their lover die earlier that day they'd had doubted it. But now as they watched Y/N's sparse breath it seemed so obvious, so apparent. Maybe they had lied to make themself less worried about Y/N? It was questions that raced their mind as a sudden soft voice rose from the body on the bed.
"Dont blame yourself."
It was calming as Raine found themself get up, walking over to the bed and placing a hand carefully on Y/N's cheek, smiling softly as they looked down. It had been what, 3 days in the hospital. Y/N had only worsened after the accident. Day by day. A sudden cold air flew through the room and as sudden as Y/N had entered Raines life, they were whisked away. And as their body lay in peace. Tears fell down Raines face.
