The same couldn't be said for the defeated Diamonds as White had called a meeting for them inside of her room.
"I bet she is going to yell at us and throw a tantrun" Pink Diamond said while walking towards the room with Blue Diamond, who had already reformed.
Both of them with their Pearls by their side to attend the meeting.
"I think she wants to know more about these new abilities of ours. I was surprised to find myself giving off an aura of anger." Blue said to her.
''You learn something new everyday, it's not really good for you to cry all the time you want to use that." Pink said, actually scolding Blue for once.
Blue glared down at Pink before sighing, she was right but that didn't mean she had to be blunt and rude about it. She got enough of that from Yellow.
"At least your rage did you some good, losing a colony was perhaps your trigger?" Blue quiped back, showing she had changed as well.
Pink glared up to Blue as her skin shined brightly, showing her new unbridled power but kept it under control.
"Yellow lost, Blue. She did better than us and she still lost after trying so hard. I'm starting to think Black can't be defeated." Pink said as her skin returned to normal.
"Yes, I think so too." Blue said with a sigh as they made it to White's room. "And if he defeats White, Homeworld may call for a new leader entirely. I wonder if Yellow will reform before the final fight."
"Don't ask questions with obvious answers, Blue, but I understand the worry." Yellow said as she walked up behind them with her Pearl, fully reformed but still having visible burns.
"Yellow!" Blue and Pink said as they turned to her.
Blue smiled and carefully hugged her, trying not to hurt her and not to cry from happiness.
"Well, now that the group is reunited, shall we enter?" Pink asked, pointing to White's door.
"Yes but let's wait until her Pearl comes. Let White call us in first." Yellow said as she hugged Blue back, calming her rage from her lose.
Yellow may push Blue when she needs it, but Blue can calm Yellow down when she was overly emotional or angry at times.
"Greetings." White Pearl said, showing up from nowhere like a ghost.
The trio of Diamonds and Pearls almost jumped at her appearance, Yellow holding Blue protectively before they calmed down at the sight of her.
"Is White Diamond ready for our meeting?" Pink asked the Pearl.
"Yes, she is. Please follow me inside." Pearl said to them, turning around.
The three diamonds and their Pearls followed White Pearl inside of the room, showing White waiting patiently in a chair with her hands together on her lap and her legs crossed. Her eyes were also closed and she had no smile on her face as she head them walk in.
"My diamond, the others have arrived." White Pearl said with a bow.
"Thank you, Pearl." White said as she had 3 chairs appear before her. "Please, have a seat."
The others diamonds didn't think much of it as they took their seats, all to their specific sizes. Yellow sat in the middle, Blue sat on the right, and Pink sat on the left; all while their Pearls stood by their right sides. They sat in silence for a minutes, no one starting a conversation or waiting for White to start since she called the meeting.
"Okay, I'll be honest and go ahead and say it, are you going to scream at us for failing?" Yellow asked White, not being one to beat around the bush and feeling awkward until someone spoke.
"...No, I'm not. I just called you all here to talk." White said to them, calmly.
"About what?" Pink diamond asked.
"Could you wish to talk about...Black?" Blue asked with caution.
"Is there any other topic you would like to present instead Blue?" White diamond asked with a face that, while it was not mad it basically, said 'Why are you asking something stupid?'
Blue looked away from the look, hating that look from White whenever she didn't meet standards.
"What are the reports in Black's colony? Is it doing well?" Pink asked, changing the subject.
"Yes, it's doing very well. Though, he has been submitting reports on 2 gems that have been giving him trouble but that can be for later." White said as she finally opened her eyes, gazing down at Pink Diamond. "He also has been putting HIS Rose Quartzes to good use."
Pink felt angry, those gems were so beautiful and had amazing skills. Skills that she wanted them to have when she created them but now, they belonged to him. To BLACK Diamond.
"I bet..." Pink said with a small growl.
"He's probably use their healing abilities right now to recover." White said as she looked to Yellow, seeing her injuries. "Perhaps if we asked, he could send some to use."
Yellow grit her teeth, hating the thought to ask for that from someone who did such wounds but she held her tongue
"And you think he willl say yes?" Yellow asked.
"I couldn't see a reason he wouldn't. It's not like any of us have healing abilities." White said with a shrug.
"Hmm, I suppose he would. How...nice of him." Yellow said with sarcasm, rolling her eyes.
"Yes, speaking of HIM, how will you fight Black when it comes time for your Trial By Combat?" Pink asked, changing the subject off of her Rose Quartez.
'I have to get them back, I WILL get them back.' Pink thought.
"Don't worry about that, Pink. I am more than ready for whatever Black Diamond will bring." White said with a nod.
"And your gonna tell us how that is going to happen?" Blue asked, thinking they were there for that.
White Diamond chuckled at them as she gazed at them all.
"Have you all thought of changing the rules to YOUR advantage? All of you have been playing by the rules Black set since the first trial, never thinking of changing them since you forget he only called the FIRST trial. Not the second or third." White Diamond said as she wagged her finger at them. "If you remembered that, you could've changed them to give yourselves a bigger advantage."
All the diamonds besides White gasped in surprise, none of them had thought about doing that because one way or the other, they all thought that Black could be defeated if they went to fight him. But no, they were defeated and White Diamond of all gems is saying she is going to basically cheat? It was scandalous yet it was making the Diamonds there think about the situation while their Pearls watched in silence.
"I could've kept my colony." Pink said as her skin flashed brightly, growling in anger.
"I wouldn't have been pushed so far." Blue said as she clenched her arm rests, holding back her angry, red aura.
"I wouldn't have been humiliated." Yellow said as she sparked with electricity.
"M-My Diamond?" Pink, Blue, and Yellow Pearl asked with worry, moving back to huddle behind their chairs.
"Yes, all of that could've been avoided but we can't change the past. All we can do is make sure it DOESN'T happen again." White said, regaining their attention.
"Then what's your plan, glorious leader?" Pink asked with her arms under her chest, crossed in anger.
"Simple. Make it a team effort." White said before put a hand on her chest. "I will be the leader and you all will be my teammates."
"A team battle?" They all asked, surprised.
"Wait, so you're saying that for your turn, you are going to tell Black that we are all going to fight him together?" Blue asked.
"Won't that be a bit...I don't know, showing that we need to gang up on him to stand a chance?" Yellow asked, not liking the idea.
"Its not just for us, it's for him as well. We are Diamonds and while he is strong, he is one plus a bunch of Off Colors and defectors. If we make it a tag team, he will be for sure at a disadvantage." White explained.
"Hmm, White's not wrong. Though it is unfair, no other gem type is close to our power. It took at least 20 Rubies and 20 Topazes fused to match Yellow." Pink said, remembering their training.
"That will bring up another rule I shall place. If Black has fusions on his side, they will be limited to gems from his team." White said with a finger up.
"How many gems on his side would you say are the most problematic if they join though?" Blue asked.
"The same as us, four." White said as she counted them. "I am one, Blue is two, Pink is three, and Yellow is four. A tag team of four gems on each side."
"But do we even know how to work together?" Pink asked, knowing the four of them didn't have many interests that they could bond over.
"It's not impossible for us to learn." Blue said, looking to Yellow. "Some of us could work rather well together."
"Yeah..." Pink said before the gazed at White for a moment.
'I don't like White though, she creeps me out sometimes.' She thought.
"I know this won't be easy but trust me, it will all be worth it in the end. Black will be put back in his place and things will return to as they were. His faction will be reduced and no more of our gems will join him." White Diamond said to them.
The diamonds nodded to what she said, but sometimes, a voice in the back of their head kept asking them if this was the right choice? To put Black Diamond in his place like this? He had shown them so much more than what he was suppose to be able to do. They suppose he DID go a bit too far when he said other gems could openly come to his court under there noses.
'I still want my planet back.' Pink thought, thinking Earth was better off in her hands than Black's.
"Well, at least our losses were not in vain. Many things have been learned about Black." Blue Diamond said.
"Like of his combat abilities and his fighting style." Yellow said with a small nod.
"His clone creation and weapon creation, we already knew that but we didn't expect that large construct projection or his black flames." Pink said as she shook her head. "How he unlocked those powers are a mystery."
"Whatever move he may have, we wont let him have anything else, this has gone far enough" White Diamond said, showing signs of anger.
The biggest Diamond was glaring in anger and flexing her power, shining a bright white glow around her body that made the others cover their eyes and their gems. The Pearls hiding out of fear as well.
"Let's get ready." She said with a tiny, angry smirk on her face.
