The massive demon threw a punch at Inosuke but he dodged. You jumped next to Inosuke.
Y/n: That stupid demon got my robes wet. Now I'm gonna have to clean them up afterwards.
Inosuke: We need to find its weaknesses!
Y/n: That won't be easy, and clearly it's incredibly powerful.
Inosuke: Usually Tanjamo would've come up with a solution by now.
Y/n: I have no idea how that kid thinks so fast. I just met you today.
The demon jumped at you and Inosuke but you both jumped away.
Inosuke: He's so damn fast!
Y/n in thoughts: He's incredibly fast, recovers like what he's doing is a breeze, and he's stupidly powerful. He might just not have any weaknesses we can currently exploit.
Y/n: I have an idea.
Inosuke: Finally! What's the plan?
You sheathed your sword.
Y/n: Run.
You turned around and took off.
Inosuke: Get back here, coward!
The massive demon's shadow engulfed Inosuke as the demon approached.
Inosuke: Hey! W-wait for me!
Inosuke ran after you and you hid in the woods.
Y/n: As long as we're keeping him busy, it's one less demon attacking Tanjiro or someone else.
Inosuke: Are you suggesting that all we do is hide?!
Y/n: What? You've got an idea?
Inosuke: Not at the moment.
You heard the demon screech.
Inosuke: Not good.
You looked at Inosuke's bloody arms and saw that he left a trail of blood behind him.
Y/n in thoughts: Oh no.
The massive demon started approaching. You waved to Inosuke as you were just across from him, hiding behind another tree. He looked at you.
Y/n silently: Your blood. He's following your blood!
Inosuke: What?
Y/n silently: Your blood.
You pointed to your arm and then his arm. Inosuke looked at his arm. You pointed to the trail of blood.
Inosuke: Oh! He's following my blood!
The demon punched the tree that Inosuke was hiding behind and in one punch, the demon completely obliterated the section of the tree it hit. You and Inosuke ran off.
Y/n: Next time try not shouting out so you don't alert the demon where we are!
Inosuke: I'm sorry, but I'm not the one talking so quietly that people can't hear him!
Y/n: Then take off that stupid mask so you can hear me!
Inosuke: Did you just call my mask stupid?
Y/n: Yes. Do you need me to say it again?
Inosuke screamed and tackled you. You saw he pushed you out of the way of a tree that the demon threw.
Y/n: Thank you.
Inosuke: Don't mention it.
You stood up and dusted yourself off.
Y/n: At this pace we should be fine.
You turned around and saw Inosuke running towards the demon.
Y/n: Aw. Come on!
Inosuke sliced down on the demon's arm but it didn't slice through just like last time.
Inosuke: Damn you!
Inosuke started slamming his free sword down on the other one.
Inosuke: I must've gotten infected by Tantaro's charms. I can't let my guard down again! Using my head?! That kinda thing's not like me at all!
Y/n in thoughts: Why isn't the demon using his free arm to attack Inosuke?... Why aren't I preventing him in the first place?!
You jumped to the other side and copied Inosuke with your swords. You almost used the sharp end to hammer it down so you flipped it over to the dull side. You and Inosuke cut through the demon's arms and it screeched.
Inosuke: Alright. I got you! See? It was as simple as that. If you can't cut something with a sword, all you gotta do is pound on it with another sword!
Y/n: Great thinking, Inosuke!
Inosuke: And just my luck! I have the tools for the job!
Y/n: I have the tools too...
Inosuke started laughing.
Inosuke: I am untouchable!
The demon turned around and ran.
Y/n: A tactical retreat is always effective.
You and Inosuke gave chase.
Inosuke: Are you running away from me! Hey! Come back here, damnit!
You and Inosuke gave chase for a bit but eventually lost sight of the demon.
Inosuke: Damnit! Where the hell did that abomination make off to?!
You both continued running for a bit but all of a sudden, Inosuke collapsed.
Y/n: Are you okay?
Inosuke: It's just a scratch. It doesn't hurt at all! It doesn't hurt! It's not a problem!
He strained really hard on that last sentence and he struggled to get up. He was still bleeding.
Y/n: You have to rest.
Inosuke: No! I will never rest! Not until every demon is destroyed!
Inosuke stood up.
Inosuke: I've had enough of this. Time to sniff him out for good!
Inosuke put both his swords near his head and he started making a weird noise. He slowly turned towards you.
Inosuke: Wait a minute...
You spotted the demon up in a tree.
Y/n: There!
He was curled up on a branch and was making a panicked screech.
Inosuke: So there you are! You dumb brained bufoon! How high did you climb?
Y/n: I think we really scared him.
Inosuke: Bastard. You're gonna force me to try and use my head again, huh? I don't think so.
Y/n: How'd he even get up there without any arms?
The creature looked like it was about to piss itself.
Inosuke: What the? Oh. I get it. You're afraid of what me and Yn/ can do when we don't put our heads together.
Y/n: It's Y/n... Wait a second. It's not afraid...
Inosuke: Huh? Of course it is! Look at it shaking in fear!
Y/n: No. It's shedding.
Inosuke: What?
Y/n: Spiders shed when they take on a bigger body and a new form. He's making himself stronger!
The spider burst from its old body and screeched. Somehow, it looked even more menacing than before, and that was a lot!
Inosuke: The hell?!
It looked really cool too, but you were more scared than in awe. You were frozen in fear at the sight of the creature, and it seemed to take pleasure in knowing that you were afraid of it. Inosuke started shaking. You know it's really bad when Inosuke is shaking in fear. The creature roared. Inosuke froze all of a sudden. The creature reeled its fist back.
Inouke: No way am I gonna lose! I'm Inosuke Hashibira of the Demon Slayer Corps! Give me the worst you've got, you dirtbag!
The demon clocked Inosuke in the face and he was launched back. The demon pursued Inosuke and he went to punch him again. Inosuke just barely jumped out of the way in time and was behind the demon now. Using his swords, he sliced at the creature's neck.
Y/n in thoughts: Oh crap.
Inosuke's swords broke right when they made contact with the creature's neck. That thing is impenetrable! The demon turned around and punched Inosuke into a tree.
Y/n: Inosuke!
Inosuke was on the ground and was barely moving. His blood was still flowing from his previous wounds. The demon grabbed Inosuke by his head.
Demon: I'll make sure you can never harm my family again!
Y/n in thoughts: Damn it all! I can't kill that thing. Not when I'm holding back.
The demon started crushing Inosuke's head and you heard a slight cracking.
Y/n: You won't kill Inosuke!
You jumped and used only your personal sword to go after the demon. The demon used its free arm to swing at you but you used your sword to drag on the ground and use it like a brake. You were out of range of the swing. You were under the demon's arm that was crushing Inosuke.
Y/n in thoughts: I can't pry its hand open with my own strength. I need to use a sword, but it may break in the process.
You forced your sword up into the demon's arm right behind its hand. You used your demon strength to shove it up and you cut the nerves to the hand. Inosuke was free but wasn't moving. The demon ripped your sword out of its hand and it broke it. You went to Inosuke.
Y/n: Inosuke. Are you okay?
Inosuke: N- N/y. Behind you.
The demon swung its fist at you and you met the demon's fist with your own. Your fists collided and it made a shockwave. It was so powerful that it blew off your mask and hat. Inosuke could see you clearly.
Inosuke: W-What?
Y/n in thoughts: No way can Inosuke run in his current state! This demon's too powerful for me to hold off! But I won't let Tanjiro down!
You dodged a punch and dodged another. The demon roared and you punched its face.
Y/n: Ha!
It spat out a tooth and looked you in the eyes.
Y/n: Uh oh.
You heard something coming. You turned to your side and saw the silhouette of somebody in the distance.
Y/n: Tanjiro?
The demon punched your face when you were distracted and you were launched so hard that you were impaled on a tree branch. You were stuck there. You were hungry. You felt weak. You couldn't protect humanity from your kind.
The demon walked up and grabbed Inosuke's head again. He started crushing it.
Y/n in thoughts: Nooooo!
You thought of the promise you made to the Demon Slayers that you'd do everything in your power to kill demons. The promise you made to yourself that you'd kill your brother and become human. You tried shouting out but the branch had pierced your lungs. Inosuke stabbed both his broken swords in the creature's neck but it did nothing. The demon didn't even flinch!
Y/n in thoughts: I have to break the branch and pull it out!
All of a sudden someone jumped from the forest and sliced the demon's arm off.
Y/n in thoughts: What?
You saw the Demon Slayer who did it. It wasn't Tanjiro. He looked older than you. If he is that powerful, then what could he do to you? You were more scared of the Demon Slayer than the demon, but it's definitely the other way around for Inosuke.
Y/n in thoughts: So powerful! He could beat any of us in a heartbeat.
The demon regrew its arm and roared. It quickly jumped at the guy but the guy quickly turned around and jumped up and over it. His sword had sprouted water.
Y/n in thoughts: He- He uses the same breathing as Tanjiro?
All of a sudden, the demon fell in chopped up pieces. It was now dead.
Y/n in thoughts: He's even more powerful than I thought! Wow!
The Slayer looked towards you.
Y/n in thoughts: Oh sh-
The branch had broken and you fell. You noticed the demon was half faded away already. You pulled the branch out and coughed blood. You were on your knees. You were immortal, that didn't mean that you couldn't feel pain.
Inosuke: You're a demon?
You looked at Inosuke and the Slayer. He looked so menacing. It didn't help that he was so powerful to go with it. This is the human you fear most, and you just met him!
