"MAMA!" Daniela's voice cut through my concentration and made me pause in my brush strokes, gold eyes shifting to the door as she swarmed in. "Cass took my scythe!"
"Awe, come here baby," You cooed and set the brush down, opening your arms for her. "I'll get her to give it back to you."
Daniela swarmed into your arms before Cassandra entered the room, a pout on her face as she held her sister's scythe in her left hand. You moved your arm open again, letting her swarm into your arms and hand her sister her scythe. Once Daniela had her scythe, you pressed kisses on their heads before letting Cassandra fly off to find your wife. Daniela huddled into your arms more, a low purr leaving her as you readjusted and went back to painting.
"Painting mother again?"
"All of us," You giggled and watched her shift. "But I am focusing on your mother right now."
"She's always so detailed."
"So are the rest of you."
"Mhm!" Daniela giggled before glancing up at you. "How did you meet mother?"
"How about your mother and I tell you three the story tonight? Since she's taking tomorrow off, you three get to sleep in our bed too."
"Yes! Family cuddles!"
Before you knew it, Daniela had fallen asleep curled up in your lap, her hand clutching your shirt as she slept. You smiled down at her and cleaned your paintbrush, setting everything off to the side. Once Daniela was repositioned and you cradled her like a baby, you carried her out of the room and through the halls.
You stopped outside of Alcina's office and knocked lightly before entering, sending her a smile as you entered. Alcina returned the smile before letting her eyes drop to the daughter in your arms, a chuckle leaving her at the sight. You took your seat across from your wife, letting your eyes drop to Daniela's sleeping frame.
"She wants to know how we met," You whispered while adjusting her cloak. "I said we'll tell her and the other two tonight."
"I figured they'd want to hear that story eventually," Alcina hummed and kept her eyes on Daniela. "I forget how peaceful they look when they're sleeping."
"That's because when they're awake, they're the complete opposite of this."
"Don't speak about our daughters that way."
"It's true and you know it."
"...It is true."
A whine pulled your attention to a pouting Daniela, making you awe her and hug her against yourself. She giggled and nuzzled into you when the door opened, your older daughters swarming over to you. Alcina stood from her seat and gained the attention of your daughters, all three purring at her attention.
"I'm starting to think you three have a favorite," You pouted at them, giggling when their flies covered you. "Okay! Okay! You don't have a favorite!"
Alcina's laugh was still as heavenly as always. "Let's go have dinner and then get ready for bed and a story."
"Story?!" Bela and Cassandra left you and stood before Alcina. "What story?!"
"Mama promised a story of how she met mother," Daniela answered for you with a proud smile. "It's our bedtime story for tonight."
"Finally!"
You giggled at their excitement, standing soon after to follow your wife out of the room. Once in the hall, she took your hand in hers — your other hand being grasped by Daniela. You walked as a family to the dining hall, a content smile on your face.
The thought of remembering your first time meeting Alcina was embarrassing, but the girls seemed happy with the deal. As you sat down to eat, you rested a hand on Alcina's thigh and sent the girls a warm smile, letting your head rest on Alcina's shoulder. Your mind wandered back to the first time you met Alcina — before either of you were given the cadou — and lifted your head enough to press a kiss on her cheek.
"What was that for?"
"For existing," You murmured and ignored the gagging from the girls. "I can ground you three."
"Mama!" They whined before glancing at Alcina. "Mother! Tell mama she can't!"
"Well, she can," Alcina chuckled as her arm snaked around your waist. "But I think we all know she won't. She loves seeing you three happy and playing with the maids."
"It's great inspiration—."
"Indeed. But you're proving my point."
"I don't like you."
"You loved me enough to marry me and get the cadou — not to mention raise our lovely daughters with me — so I think I still win."
"You just wait until I have you alone," You grumbled and pulled away from her enough to eat. "Then you'll see."
Dinner went quickly after that, leaving you to escort the triplets out of the dining hall. Once you told them they had some time before bed, they took off in a swarm of giggles — heading right for the basement. Before you had the chance to look for Alcina, a pair of arms wrapped around your waist, and a gentle kiss was planted on your neck.
"They're hyper now," She muttered as she planted kisses along your neck and jaw.
"They'll ware themselves out before bed," You hummed and leaned into her. "Do we have to tell them the real story of how we met?"
"Absolutely. You can't break your promise to Daniela — you cuddle her anytime she pouts."
"She's my baby!"
"They all are," Alcina countered and nipped your neck. "What's your point?"
You pouted after a squeal left you at the nip. "My point is... My point is — I don't like it when my babies pout."
"And if I pouted, would I get cuddles?"
"And more."
"I like the sound of that," Alcina's voice was low and next to your ear, sending heat to your core.
You held in a low groan before promising to do that tomorrow, trying to ignore it when she squeezed your waist and pulled you even closer. Alcina always riles you up the nights before she takes a day off, knowing you'll pounce on her the moment you have a chance. It had been that way since the very beginning — she just knew how to push your buttons. You turned in her arms and let yours wrap around her neck, pressing your lips against hers in a quick kiss.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
