Today is Grayson's birthday! His 20th birthday, which means a brand new chapter of his life.
I want to make it really special for him. I talked to Alisa and she set something up for us. We're going on a trip somewhere special, and it's a surprise. I'm so excited to tell him, he'll be so happy.
I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for him to get pictures of us.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that part, Grayson and I are now a thing.
The fake dating has turned real.
We haven't told anyone yet, since it happened last night.
Right now, I'm in my room, staring at the ceiling thinking about what I should get him for his birthday.
A camera?
No, he's got a nice one.
Clothes?
Noo. He's got plenty of those.
Oh!! I know the perfect gift.
You think I would tell you?
Its a surprise for you too.
I smile to myself as i thought of the perfect present.
I open my door, and peek out.
Nobody is in the hallway.
I start on my way to Alisa's office. I have to tell her what i am getting for Grayson so she can set something up for me to take a trip to where i need to go to get it.
"Aw, Avery. That's so sweet. I'll set it up right away."
I grin. "Thank you Alisa!"
I hug her and walk out of her office closing the door behind me, she likes privacy.
I walk down the hall, looking at every detail of every painting as I go.
Family portaits, murals, all kinds of different paintings.
I come across a recent family portait in which I see Nash, Grayson, Jameson, & Xander all next to eachother. Zara and Sky on each side of the boys.
Tobias was in this photo.
It must have been right before he passed.
A few down, I see another family portrait in
which each boy is in the same spot, same with Zara and Sky.
Tobias looks the same.
The boys are so small.
Grayson with his white blonde hair as a boy, now a dirtier blonde color.
Jameson has a flashing grin on his face, nothing changed there.
Xander, being his silly self, also being the smallest at the time, now he is the tallest of them.
Nash has his arm around his brothers.
How cute they were.
I stare at that painting for a little while longer. Memorizing every detail of it.
All of the sudden, I am really thirsty.
I peel my eyes away from the painting and start down the hall again.
I reach the stairs, and head downstairs to the kichen.
I walk through the huge arch going in and go to the cabinet with the glasses in it. I open it, grabbing a tall glass.
I twirl over to the fridge and get some ice, then filling my cup with water.
I go and set my cup on the table, my back towards the entrance. I pull out my phone and scroll through some news sites.
Most top headlines are about me.
The Hawthorne Heiress.
I read some of the text, some saying I blackmailed Tobias, and that I was a con woman.
Just then, two muscular arms wrap around my waist.
Grayson brings his head down to my neck and kisses me.
"Hello beautiful" He says.
"Hi, I missed you." I say.
I start turning around.
He smiles and his eyes travel my face. His dimples are showing.
I bring my arms around his neck and bring my lips up to his.
He looks so good today.
"Happy Birthday!" I say excitedly.
He grins. "Thanks love." I smile at him.
"What are you up to?" He asks.
"Just looking at some stories, you know."
He nods. He grabs my hand and twirls me around. He picks me up.
Today im wearing my favorite Chanel boots, a mini skirt, a cute black ruffly shirt and some black transparent tights.
I wrap my arms around his neck.
We are going to be leaving for our surprise trip in a few hours, so I need to tell him now.
"So, Grayson"
"Yes?"
I think for a second how i can say this without giving it away.
"I have something special planned for your birthday." He smiles.
"Really?" I grin at him.
"Yeah, and we are leaving in a couple of hours so I would start packinnnngg"
I slowly walk away from him with my arms behind my back.
He's walking towards me while im walking away.
I get to the stairs and slowly start walking up them, him watching my every step.
I stare at him, brushing my arms against the railing.
"Are you at least going to tell me where you're taking me?" He questions.
"No" I blow him a kiss and walk to my room.
When i get to my room, I start packing my things.
A couple outfits for dinner, going out, that sorta thing.
I pack a lot of clothes, so I have options.
After maybe 30 minutes im all done and everything is done.
I should go check on Grayson, to make sure he is all packed up too.
I put my stuff outside my door so Oren can put my things in the car.
I walk over to Grayson's room, and i knock.
"Come in" He says.
I open the door and he smiles as he sees my face.
All hes wearing right now is a pair of slacks.
No shirt, shoes, or belt.
I walk up to him, run my hands along his arms.
He turns around to grab something to put in his bag from the table next to him.
As he does that, I notice something on his back, its up towards the left, right below his shoulder.
Its a tattoo.
I'd never noticed it before. It was a longsword.
With the phrase: "I protect whats mine."

I walk up to him and touch the tattoo.
"I love this" I say.
"I got it a year ago today."
He smiles and kisses me.
He puts on his belt and shirt.
He's wearing a gold chain that you can see in his polo shirt.
"Ready?" I say. Im so excited.
I grab his hand. We walk out of his bedroom and down the stairs.
Oren will get our bags and load them into the car.
We have an hour drive to the airport to our private jet.
Grayson and I get into the car in the back seat. He locks his fingers with mine and squeezes my hand.
I smile at him, and put my head on his shoulder.
"Eeeeeee!! Im so excited for you to see the surprise!!" I squeal.
"Im even more excited baby." He smirks at me.
We dont talk much during the ride, looking out the window.
We get to the tarmac and the plane is there waiting for us.
Oren unloads our bags and we get into the plane. Grayson and I sit next to eachother.
I grab a glass of champagne, and one for him.
I take my glass and hold it up to his mouth and he takes a sip.
He gives me a sip out of his too.
After a few hours, I wake up in his arms, hes stroking my hair.
I lift my head up, he smiles at me.
"Were going in for decent" the pilot speaks over the intercom.
I smile. "Were almost there!!" I say excitedly.
"I love you so much baby, thank you for making me feel so special."
"You are special Grayson Hawthorne, youre mine. I love you more."
The plane is lowering and soon hits the runway.
Were escorted off the plane, i have my hands over his eyes.
"Okay are you ready? 1, 2, 3!"
I uncover his eyes and he is in awe.
Its Paris.
He's looking at the Eiffel Tower.
"This, Avery, Is the most amazing gift I have ever recieved."
He pulls me in, and kisses me. He keeps going, holding my lower waist.
He twirls me around and kisses me again.
We spend the next few hours walking around, taking pictures of us with macarons and kissing under the Eiffel Tower.
We go the house that I have in Paris, and get settled in.
I get ready for bed, and take my clothes off to put my pajamas on, when he comes up behind me and slowly runs his hands on my waist.
I shiver.
He brings his mouth to my neck and whispers "I love you" in my ear.
I turn around and kiss him.
"Now let me put my clothes on young man."
He smirks.
"Theres no need for clothes."
He picks me up and brings me over to the bed.
He kisses me, so passionately. I get ontop of him and put my hands in his hair.
He kisses down my shoulder.
He smiles.
Gosh that smile, it makes me melt.
I love this man.
I get up and put my pajamas on.
I hop back in bed and snuggle in with him.
I lay on his chest, and he smells so good. Hes so warm, and comforting.
"Goodnight love, sweet dreams"
I smile.
"Goodnight Grayson"
He pulls me in and kisses me on my forehead.
I nestle my head in his shoulder and quickly fall asleep.
