I sat the potato salad and sweet tea on the table outside, I was helping my family set up for this party that was literally starts in 20 minutes. We already had some people that came in.
which it was just a bunch of my parents friends, it was now there 22 anniversary. My parents was my inspiration for a relationship. I like the fact that no matter what they went through they always stuck that shit out together.
I just sat down a one of the tables, and got on my phone and then I saw Duke come and sit beside me. Which we started talking a little bit, time went on about a hour, and so I decided to text kai to see where he was.

I put my phone in my back pocket and then walked in the house and out the front door. He was pulling up in his black srt.
once he parked I walked over to him smiling.
"look at youu, I did my thing wit the outfit" I smiled
"let me take your picture" I said taking his phone

"you look so fucking high" Duke said shaking his head looking at kai who was sitting beside him, Duke kinda laughed under his breath as well.
He just shrugged and stayed quite not wanting to reply. Kai was kinda feeling weird today, the fact that he was hanging out with a whole different family that wasn't his own just brought up memories that came back to his mom.
And he was tryna keep his mind off her, so the only thing that was really helping him was weed or lean. Which he was tryna back up off lean but he thought he might should go back to it cause the weed don't take away everything off his mind like the lean does.
soriah stood over at the other table with amaya and they was currently waiting on mari to come.
"ouu that man right there" amaya said looking behind soriah. So she turned around and seen she was looking at kai who was just looking around, looking irritated.
"can you stop saying dat, it's getting weird" soriah laughed and am
"Or just go talk to him damn" soriah shrugged
"he be curving me" amaya chuckled
"that's cause he got a lot going on, I tried to tell you" I said looking around and then my eyes feel on the front door seeing mari and her brother teek coming in behind her
Teek was always under soriahs comments tryna get a reaction out of her. He thought that she was bad as hell, but soriah never gave him a chance because she knew he was a player.
Soriah also never really dated, she had only had one real boyfriend and he took her virginity, and after him she never ever dated again which that was when she was 16 making all that three years ago.
"Yo" teek said dapping up Duke and then teek looked at kai
"wassup" kai nodded
"sup bro"
Soriah and amaya walked over to them and amaya hugged mira and then teek. After teek got done hugging her he went over to soriah
"damn you ain't gone speak huh"
"don't start t" soriah rolled her eyes and he pulled her into a hug and they rocked back and forth.
Kai laughed under his breath a little bit looking at them hug which soriah heard it but she ain't know who did it cause she was too busy hugging teek.
"Ouuu look at you ma" Duke said sipping on his drink
"Hey y'all" Carmen came out and walked over to them
"how does it feel to be going 22 years strong ma?" Soriah asked rasing her eyebrow and cole creeped behind her so he could see what he answer was going to be
"It feels great, I'm in love with him more and more everyday" Carmen said
"and I know him too so tell him to get from behind me" Carmen turned around and cole smiled and she pecked him on the lips multiple times
"ewww, go on somewhere wit that" Duke said and soriah turned around covering her eyes
Carmen and cole laughed, then cole walked off into the house.
"Everyone y'all can come eat now!" Carmen announced and everyone got up excitedly
"yay" soriah said jumping up in down taking Kai's hand, and he put his arm across her shoulder. He just sat there leaning on soriah as she talked to everybody.
Teek started lowkey mean mugging kai, which made him look over to him. Kai just laughed and continued to lay on kai.
"cmon" soriah said taking Kai's hand over to the food
"what do you want?" Soriah asked looking at the food
"ion want nun" I mumbled
"kai.." soriah knew that kai wasn't eating like he was supposed to, and that freaked her out cause he needed to eat and she didn't want him to get sick or anything.
"Chicken and mac n cheese" he mumbled and she smiled as she started making his plate for him
"thank you" he said grabbing his plate from her and walking back over to his seat, they all got there food and sat down with each other and ate.
As the old school music played in the background, with old heads smoked cigars. Along with some of there parents friends playing cards at another table
"Ion know if I could do 22 years" amaya smacked on her fruit punch
"why not" teek asked laughing a little bit
"nigga that's 22 years I gotta see the nigga, eat with the nigga, talk to the Nigga. Unt un I'm good" she said making us all laugh
"you trippin that's 22 years of some good ass sex" Duke said
"real shit though" kai dapped Duke up
"that shit gone get boring" Mari said
"Not if you get a big booty bitch"
"you always talking bout a damn big booty bitch nobody wants youuu" kai shook his head, he was always a little bit more talkative and out there when he was high.
"nigga i gets bitches fuck is you talking bout" Duke said, while kai played wit his food
"kai.." soriah mumbled looking at him just going through his food
"I'm eating ry chill out" he said a she shrugged rolling her eyes a little. He had also been calling her ry lately and he ain't even know why. He just came up wit it.
"Get it maa!" Soriah yelled looking at her mom dancing to the old school music playing
"mm" cole said grabbing Carmen's hand and dancing with her
"They soooo cutee" mari said poking her bottom lip out
"I wanna be like themmm" amaya said making us all laugh

"it's 1:00am stop with that" kai said pushing soriah off of him making her stop tickling him
"I'm sorry"soriah put her head down and continued to laugh
"just lay down ry" kai patted the empty spot next to him in the bed, he didn't go back home because he lived a little far so soriah just let him stay over
"why you be calling me ry?" She came and layed down Facing me
"it just shortens your name so why not" kai shrugged
"I don't be feeling like calling you soriah sometimes"
"Oh.."
"Youn want me to call you that?" He asked
"I don't care, if you want to go ahead" she mumbled, and they both got quiet
"you and teek talking or sum?" kai asked
"nope" she said shortly cause she ain't feel like talking about it cause she was tired, and he just took that answer and didn't ask anymore.
They both got quite, closing their eyes and drifting off to sleep with the tv in the background being there only light, and it making nosies so that soriah could sleep better.
3 hours later
Kai woke up out of his sleep hearing his phone buzzing and going off. He moved soriahs hand off of his face, he then got out of bed carefully cause she had her body wrapped around him.
"hello" he said putting his phone to his ear, soriah started to slowly wake up out her sleep "Yeah it's me" kai mumbled yawning
Soriah woke up completely niece she seen that he was on the phone.
"She's what?"
"are you deadass, I mean are you fr?" And soriah sat up because she noticed his tone and plus he had smile across his face
"Yeah yeah" he said excitedly and fastly as he then hung up the phone
"what's happened?" Soriah sat up in the bed rubbing her eyes
"I gotta go to the hospital" he said slipping on his shoes very fast along with him grabbing his phone
"why?" She asked
"they said that she woke up" he cheesing showing his blue braces
"I knew she would" soriah smiled
"you wanna come wit me?" Kai asks running around looking for his keys
"um I-"
"I would like it if you did" he interrupted her saying and she nodded
She went In her closet and slipped on her yellow crocs and just grabbed a hoodie as kai kept looking for his keys.
"they right there kai" she pointed to the covers and she could see the keys poking out of them
"Thanks" he mumbled getting his keys and then he started quickly making his way downstairs. Soriah grabbed her phone and jogged downstairs catching up wit him
