Kiara (Reader) wakes up at night because of a nightmare and Syd comforts her.
Happens while they are away for a game and are roomies in the hotel. Not together.

When I woke up that night I didn't even know where i was for a moment. Everything was dark but I could feel myself tembling like crazy. I turned around and tried to fall asleep again but failed miserably. The tembling just wouldn't stop and after some minutes I felt the first tear rolling down my cheek. I just couldn't silence my thoughts and it started to scare me insanely. I felt more and more tears on my skin and tried so hard not to start sobbing right there. But eventually I failed in that too.
,,Kie?", mumbled a small voice next to me. I could have facepalmed myself for waking her up but now it was too late. I breathed out weakly before biting my lip again. Maybe she would just fall back asleep again. ,,Are you okay?" She was now completely awake and I could feel her eyes not leaving me for one second.
,,I'm sorry...", I breathed out. But in the next moment I felt a soothing hand on my shoulder and a weight next to me.
,,No... don't apologize. Did you had a bad dream?", Syd asked. I hesitated for a moment but then nodded my head slightly. Gently her hand started to caress my upper arm and I turned on my back to look at her. ,,Do you want me to lay down with you?", she asked but I shook my head immediately.
,,I don't want you to feel uncomfortable.. you shouldn't be up at all.", I spoke with a husky voice but now it was her turn to shake her head.
,,No Kie, I don't care about that. Okay? Come on, let's cuddle a bit. You know I like that too..." she wispered softly and laid down next to me. Again, I hesitated for a second but when she lifted the covers for me I didn't care. I snuggled close to her and she laid a protective arm around me. Suddenly, I felt better. Safe. In some way. I hung onto her for dear life until my tensed muscles relaxed again. She was drawing little figures on my back and stroked my hair softly.
,,It's okay. Go back to sleep little one.", she mumbled but I couldn't even reply. I fell asleep soon after and slept until we had to get up again for breakfast.
