Geological readiness is imperative for all crew members. Samples will be procured from potential sites throughout the mission.
To obtain your Geological Certificate, a training will be held in the Grand Canyon. The harsh and bio-diverse environment at this site will help you gain experience for similar harsh and diverse environments on other planets.
Field events will include:
• Basic Survival Training Unit 6
• Earth Composition: A Study of Layers
• Geologic Conditions and Human Survival
• Astrobiology and You
Please pack lightly, but bring enough clothes for this three-day event.
Before the in-person training, please review the following Video Quiz Modules:
1. Astro-Venture Geology
2. Earth Structure
3. Earth and Space Science
Passing scores of 75% or above are required for the three Modules before joining in-person training.
