It didn't take long for Jayla to get here and when she did, I was ready to start shit with her. Literally, she fucking putted me in a hospital bed.
"Hey." Jayla mutters walking in the room. "Mom, dad, will you please give us some privacy?" I ask making them both nod and leave the room.
"Like what you see?" I ask pointing at my bed. "I'm so sorry Harper..." "Sorry? Bro, you putted my in a fucking hospital bed and only because I didn't tell you about a fucking party!" I exclaim.
"Look, I literally thought it wasn't that bad. And it was your fault anyways." She defends herself. "I'm sorry? How was it my fault? You're saying that cuz you're not the one laying down here, eating shitty food and doesn't remember half of the things that happened this month! Literally, I was just trying to make new friends! I keep changing and changing from city to city, from life to life and you literally just decide to bang my head on a rock! Are you joking?!" I shout.
"I am sorry! I already told you I didn't mean it! I was mad at you and sad that you were replacing me with much cooler kids!" "Oh don't try to be the victim now. You can't be the only friend I have." I argument. "You're not being fair." She mutters. "I'm the one not being fair? Jayla, you literally don't let me have any new friends in this fucking place!" I shout angrily.
Why is she playing the victim when she's the one with the "visitor" sticker glued to her shirt?
"You know you could've killed me right? You could've killed me just because of a dumb thing. And if you did, I would be up there, hoping that every day you woke up with an insane amount of guilt." I say, seeing her eyes swell.
Okay, calm down Harper. She already understood it.

"Harper stop, you don't mean that." She says letting a tear fall. "And who's trying to believe that? Me or you?" I ask calmly making her step away from me. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me." She begs. "Give me my time to think. Meanwhile, don't stay awake at night because of it. I hope you sleep like an angel tonight. Cuz I certainly will." I mutter the last part.
She nods and leaves, trying to wipe her tears away.
Since when are you this harsh with people?!
Since I hit my head on a rock and lost half of the blood in my body.
"Is everything okay between you and Jayla?" Mom asks walking in the room. "Yeah mom, don't worry. She just came to say hello, nothing more." I answer smiling. "Good, we're having dinner at their house today. We convinced the doctors and you are free to go this afternoon. The Walton's figured out what happened and invited us over so we can relax. Isn't that so sweet?"
Fuck me.
"Yeah mom, it's amazing." I say faking a smile. "I'll go talk to the doctors now and when I'm back, we can head home. And if you want we can pass through your favourite take out place and get some food, like the idea?" She asks giving me one of her drop-dead gorgeous smiles. "Sound amazing mom. Love you." I say. "Love you too baby. We'll be back home soon." She says kissing my forehead and leaving.
"Hey champ." My dad says walking in the room. "Sup, dad." I say as he sits down next to me. "You feeling alright?" He asks with a concerned look. "Yeah dad, don't worry. Just... still trying to process what happened, that's all." I say giving him a smile. "Okay kid, I'll leave you here for a bit to sign some papers with your mom but I'll be back as fast as I can." He says kissing my head.
"Try to relax a bit." He says giving me a smile and opening the door, closing it on his way out.
Now the room was completely empty, just me and the little old fan that barely works. Did I just ruin one of my best friendships because of stupid reasons?
Maybe it really was my fault. Or maybe it was both our fault.
"Let's go home!" Mom and dad walk in excitedly. "Yess!" I say with the same energy. "You are free to go miss Harper but, you will have to take these pills for a month and then you're all ready. If you feel something wrong don't hesitate on calling us." The doctor says giving me a small box of pills.
"Thank you so much, doctor." I say and he smiles. "You can go get dressed now." He says and I get up going in the bathroom with my things.

I walked in my room and let out a big sigh. The first trying I did was lay down on my sweet comfy bed. Then, I went in the bathroom and took a shower. Cuz I totally needed one.
Once I was done, I putted something nice on cuz unfortunately, we have to go the Walton's house for this stupid dinner. I went downstairs and grabbed a velvet cake from the fridge, taking a small fork and going back to my room. When I got there, something caught my attention. It was form Jaden's room, he was waving his arms to get me looking at him.
I rolled my eyes and showed him my middle finger, closing the blinds.
He's also a bit guilty so I'm also mad at him. This was totally his idea, coming to find me. He's so annoying.
I had three hours until dinner so I calmly ate the cake until I was full and scrolled through my socials. I had hundreds of messages on my insta and snap asking if I was okay. Some people are just fake friends that look at me with a jealous ass look when I pass in the halls.
We don't fuck with those people.
Those three hours I had passed like nothing and I putted my shoes on, walking downstairs. "Ready?" Dad asks. "Uhum." I mutter. We all leave the house and walk to the Walton's, who warmly greet us. "Hey Dwayne, Angelina." DJ and Jess smiled at my parents while hugging them. "Hey Harper. The kids are in the living room." Jess says giving me a warm and nice hug. "Thanks, Jess." I thank giving her a genuine smile.
I walked in the house and went to the cinema room, which is the only place where I can be alone without Jayla or Jaden or even Javon bothering me. I snatch my phone from my pocket and start texting the groupchat.

I turn my phone off and feel someone sit next to me. I didn't dare to talk so we both stayed silent for a bit. "Why did you lie?" I hear Jaden ask. "Not you too." I mutter annoyed. "Just tell me." He begs. "Fuck you Jaden, you literally ruined my night. I ain't fighting with you too. Not now." I say getting up.
Why can't I be alone for just a second?
Soon enough dinner was ready and we all sat down. They decided to separate this in two tables. One was for the teenagers and other for the adults. Only mumps was in the adults table so Jess could help him with cutting his food. Even though he says he knows how to cut it, last time he tried he cut the plate into half. The kid's strong.
"Guys, this is getting fucking boring." Javon finally says after minutes of just hearing forks hitting our plates. "What do you want me to say?" I ask dryly. "I don't know, maybe let's just get this dealt with and continue with our fucking lives?" He suggests making me smirk to myself. "As if it was that easy." I mutter.
"It actually is." Jayla mutters as well. "You don't get to talk here." I say and Jaden looks at me aggressively. "I'm sorry but now it's everyone's fault that you went to the hospital? She already said sorry." He says. "You also don't get to talk here. You were one of the reasons why my night was completely ruined. Yeah, I know it was your idea fucker." I say.
But he's too stubborn to let me win the fight and just shut up. "I don't care. I was worried cuz you weren't coming back home and I got pissed when I found out you were having fun without us." "Wow someone's being really honest right now, and possessive too. I'm not yours Jaden." I state, making eye contact with him.
That made him go silent. His chaw clenched and he continued eating.
This is embarrassing.
"I don't care anymore really, do whatever you want Harper. You're not a good friend." Jaden continues after a few minutes. I rolled my eyes and let out a big sigh. "Bro, why are you still going with this? I'm just trying to eat. Do you think I want to be here?" I say dropping my cutlery on the plate.
"Fuck you. Actually. I thought you were annoying in the beginning but I was wrong. You're a self-centred person who's also selfish and only cares about herself. How did we end up being friends with you?" Jaden spits out.
"I'm done. Really. I've been trying to do everything to be your friend and to help you guys and y'all just blame me for dumb shit. And for the record, it was literally your fault for what happened at the beach because Jayla was the one that pushed me to that rock and she knows!" At some point I realize I'm screaming and the whole adults table was looking at me, shocked.
"Jayla was the one that pushed you?" My dad asks looking straight at me. "And you didn't tell us?" Mom continues. "What?" DJ was also looking concerned, but he was looking at his daughter.
"They were the ones that almost killed my daughter?" Dad asks me. "Uhmm." I mutter . I don't know what to say. "We need to go." Mom says. "I'm sorry, this was really good Jess but after what happened to Harper, and finding out who did it, we need to go." My mother continues getting up and grabbing my hand, taking me away from the twins and Jayla.
