Jake's POV
After the bell had rung for class to be over, I quickly grabbed my stuff and rushed over to Luke who was just leaving with Zander and Hailey, "Luke!" I shouted, seeing the three of them turning around.
Zander glared at me and Hailey seemed confused, Luke looked confused but then smiled, "Oh, hey Jake."
"Can I talk to you again? Sorry if I was interuppting anything."
"Oh no, you weren't, and sure," Luke turned to Zander and Hailey, "I'll see you guys in class, alright?"
Hailey nodded and waited for Zander to agree and come along,
"Mhm." Zander rolled his eyes and let go of Luke's hand and walked with Hailey.
We stood outside class and slowly walked to our next class together, "Whats up?"
"It's about Drew again," I uttered. "I have no idea what to do."
He raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"
"I keep running away from him instead of just talking to him, I freak out too much when he's around and just run away. I don't have a clue what to do, do I like.. just keep acting normal? Make a move?"
"Hm.." Luke looked at the ground, hesitated with an answer but then said, "Well, what do you think? Do you think Drew likes you back?"
"I don't know, is there a way to tell?"
"Does he look away when you make eye contact?" "I don't know, I don't pay attention." "Okay.. does he like to show you things he likes and does?" I thought about it, "Kind of, he likes to show me new things his parents bought him and talk about how rich he is."
"And does he seem interested in what you're saying?"
"Yes and no, I mostly talk about you guys. He just looks annoyed."
"Hm.. does he seem angry when you walk away for practice?"
"Yeah.. actually he does. He seems annoyed and rolls his eyes sometimes."
"Ooh and does he smile when you're around?"
"Erm.. sometimes. I approach him beginning of school and he smiles at me."
"And looks annoyed before?"
"Mhm."
"Does he seem angry at the fact that you liked Daisy?"
"Kind of, yes."
"Then he might like you!"
My eyes went wide and I felt my face blush, him? Like me? No way, he had a girlfriend. He's probably straight and would never like someone like me.
I sighed and shook my head, "You're just saying that. He's most likely straight and he always rolls his eyes and acts annoyed whenever Henry and Liam ever mention things like that."
"I can't really assume anything because I never hang out with him, but maybe you should try making a move instead of running away?"
"How do I make a move? All I did was ask him to dinner and I ran away to the bathroom even then."
He chuckled, "Just get him a nice gift. Like flowers or compliment him, start moving the relationship a bit forward."
"Hm.. I'll think about it."
We came across our classrooms and went our separate ways.
I walked to my class where I saw Henry there. He smiled and said, "Hey Jake."
I waved slightly, forcing a smile.
"You ran away from last class, you okay?"
"Um.. yeah."
"Liam and I are really worried about it, Drew seemed really upset about it too. You sure everything's okay?"
"Um.." I thought about telling him, but I knew that if I did he would make fun of me and be all loud and make a scene. So I chose not to speak about it, and we headed into class.

Lunchtime rolled around quicker than I ever thought.
Every class I was in before then I kept thinking about what Luke said. I am gonna try to take his advice and do something. But what? I'll just panic and Henry and Liam will make fun of me. I still don't know what to do.
Maybe I could just try to compliment him and sit closer and then tomorrow I'll get him something.
I met up with Liam and Henry, we headed off to Drew's classroom and waited outside.
Just waiting for him outside made me nervous.
Drew's POV
I grabbed my things and headed to the door and walked out of the classroom with everyone else.
I saw Henry, Liam and Jake standing outside waiting for me. I don't know why, but I felt happy and confused Jake was there. I generally thought he wouldn't be there because he was mad at me and kept running away.
When I approached them, Henry and Liam took the lead and started walking and talking to each other.
Jake and I just looked at each other awkwardly, then we started walking beside each other. I dug my hands in my hoodie pockets and glanced at the floor and then the wall.
We were completely silent for a while, before I finally muttered. "You ran away."
"Huh?"
I glared at him, "At first class, you ran away. Before school, you ran away. At dinner, you ran away. The hell is going on with you lately? All you do is run." I came off a little rude, but it really upsetted me.
I saw a look of ashame and guilt cover his face, he glanced at the floor and said, "I know. I'm sorry."
"If you're so sorry then why do you keep doing it?"
He was hesitant with a response, "I know I've been weird lately. I'm trying to change it, though. I swear I will try to stop doing that."
His voice seemed shakey and nervous, like he was hiding something. It made me more mad, if he was hiding something then what the hell was it? And was it my fault?
"Whatever." I rolled my eyes and glared back at the floor. We became quiet once again.
We grabbed food from the cafeteria and then headed to our lunch table where we sat down in our seats. Henry beside Liam and Jake beside me across from them.
Henry kept talking about.. something I didn't care about. Probably lettuce or Lia. Liam was listening but looked bored, yep defiantly lettuce.
I wasn't listening to them, I was just staring at the floor again.
Jake running away and just acting like it was nothing annoyed me like hell. It also upset and stressed me. I can't tell if it's my fault or if he's got his own thing going on and he just took it out on us. Whatever it is, it sure is pissing me off.
Everything was silent with us except Henry and Liam's talking.
Jake's POV
Drew seemed so angry earlier, it actually made me 100x more nervous to do anything.
I was breathing heavily trying to find a way to do this. And what to even say. Do I say he looks handsome today? Do I like.. wrap my arm around him? Oh heck no. He'll just slap me.
I think I'll just get closer and say he's handsome and call it a day. It's not like I'm lying so it'll actually mean something, right?
I swallowed hard, trying to find a way to do this without panicking.
I glanced at Drew who had his arms crossed and was staring at the ground, then I looked at Henry and Liam to make sure they wouldn't see anything. They weren't looking.
I took a deep breath and began scooting my chair towards Drew. When I became close enough that he noticed and turned to me I said nervously, "Hey um.. Drew.. you look really ha- nice today."
I felt my face become red and butterflies overflow my stomach when I said that.
His eyes went wide and he looked generally confused, he said, "What?"
"I was um.." I gulped, becoming more red and probably sweating from nervousness. "Just saying you looked nice today.."
"Um.. thanks?"
I nervously forced a smile and when Drew glanced back at the floor, looking extremely confused, I looked back at the table and covered my face.
Drew's POV
That was the nicest thing he's said to me, and I'm surprised he said it.
I was blushing too much as well. He actually thought I looked nice? Wow.. that made me feel better.
I tried not to smile or show any signs that I was happy.
Not too long after Jake quickly got up to rehearsals, I looked up and saw Henry and Liam making faces at me.
"What??"
"Aww, he complimented youu!" Henry teased, "Look how red you are."
"I am not red shut up."
"Yes you are," Liam added on. "And you were looking at the ground trying to hide it. Tsk tsk, you're a tomato."
"Am not!"
"Are so~"
"Ugh.. can you two shut up?"
"No thanks."
Do I seriously have to be left with these two?
