"stiles, hold the light still-"
stiles groaned in agony as he descended to the floor. the alpha pivoted to see tracy, partially transformed with her claws and fangs out, had paralysed him with her kanima venom. she hissed and snarled as she lunged for scott. the boy swerved her blows, quickly allowing his glowing red eyes, sharp fangs and claws to come out.
stiles, who was laying flat on his back on the floor, caught josh approaching from the distance. josh also had his claws and fangs out and was emitting purplish-blue sparks from his hands.
"scott, behind you!" stiles yelled.
scott moved as soon as he heard stiles' warning and blocked josh's attack. he deflected both the chimera's blows and grabbed tracy's wrist, plunging it into josh's chest. the boy was paralysed by the venom while tracy was encapsulated by his electricity. the two crumpled to the floor.
"sucks, doesn't it?" stiles smirked at josh, who was in the same state as him.
although tracy and josh had been defeated, scott seemed to sense something on the other side of the hall. he growled menacingly at it until corey suddenly appeared- he had been hiding, camouflaged against the wall. the mccall boy snarled at him as if he was waiting for the chimera to make the first move.
before either of them could swing, theo revealed himself and on either side of him were franchie and xan.
"okay! maybe almost none of them are not ready to take on an alpha..." theo rolled his eyes, giving corey an unimpressed look, "especially one that can smell fear."
corey scoffed and looked at theo as if he was crazy, "he's got fangs!"
a chuckle echoed through the other side of the hall and a figure silently walked over and stood behind scott.
"moonee?" stiles called out, his voice gentle.
scott turned around, his werewolf form was gone and he was rendered powerless due to the name stiles had just yelled. "what?" before he could even see his younger sister, she had swung her fist into his face.
"i said almost." theo smirked as scott stumbled back.
when he had looked up, he saw dark moonee standing in front of him, in a combat position.
"moonee? where have you been?" scott didn't even want to fight her, "we've been looking for you for days."
"clearly weren't searching hard enough." dark moonee shrugged as she twisted herself around and flung her foot into the boy's face.
he accepted the collision, not bothering to guard himself due to the astonishment. dark moonee could tell that something wasn't right. although theo had told her that the two boys wouldn't attack her, she was hoping for some battle.
"could you at least fight back?" dark moonee scowled.
scott shook his head, "are you okay?"
dark moonee groaned in aggravation, her eyes radiating a dark grey - almost black. she threw her hand up and utilised the air to drive scott onto the wall. she held him in place by his neck, firmly squeezing it and slightly cutting off his air supply.
"what... did you do?" scott asked theo, his voice hoarse.
theo shrugged, "i found some new friends. i don't take rejection well."
"hey, theo!" stiles called out, sarcastically.
"stiles." theo deadpanned, uninterested in his presence.
"fran?" stiles questioned, "what are you doing here?"
"field trip." theo answered for her before turning his attention to scott who was lifted into the air. "you're going to leave here thinking that you need to worry about me... but you're wrong. because that thing?"
xan pointed around to the carnage from the beast the previous night.
"that's what we need to worry about. your pack, excluding moonee and francesca. and mine, including moonee and francesca." theo couldn't help but smile at himself, "see what i did there?"
"we see." stiles rolled his eyes.
"what did you... do to them?" scott breathed out.
"i saved their lives." theo explained, "all of them. they're just returning the favour."
"moonee never died." stiles shook his head.
"yet i still managed to saved her." theo clarified, "now, we're gonna go back to school and pretend like we're normal teenagers, but at night, we're going to be fighting for our lives."
"wh-what is it?" scott asked, anxiously.
"it's not a chimera." theo stated. "moonee."
the girl sighed in disappointment. she diverted her grasp from his neck to his chest, pressing him down against the wall harder.
"thank you. it was hard having a conversation with someone who couldn't even breathe!" theo exclaimed.
"i don't know why you're sparring him." dark moonee hollered back, "you're the one that told me i could do what i want."
scott didn't look amused by the two's childish bickering. they acted as if they had been friends for years. "but it's just a kid underneath- someone like us."
theo shook his head, "not anymore."
scott glanced down at the message written on the floor. theo followed his eyes and stomped on it as hard as he could, cracking the ground and destroying the message so it could no longer be read. scott groaned out in annoyance and frustration, making dark moonee smile.
"come on." xan spoke out to her.
dark moonee nodded, she flicked her wrist and watched as scott harshly dropped to the ground. xan took her hand and guided her to follow theo and the rest. franchie and corey had teamed up to drag the paralysed josh out with them.
"fran!"
"moonee!"

for a girl that had been missing for three days, it was unusual to see her walking around school as if nothing had happened. dark moonee simply ignored the confused glances she received as she sauntered to her locker, theo by her side. waiting there for them was hayden and franchie.
"i don't understand why i have to be here." dark moonee told theo as she pulled a few books out of her locker.
her eyes had skimmed over hayden and franchie, disregarding their presence. the day before, franchie nearly burst into tears when dark moonee had shrugged her off. the girl had been worrying for her best friend and it broke her heart to see she wasn't even the same person.
"because, you're still a fifteen year old girl who needs an education?" theo stated.
from afar, mason and liam were watching the four. liam's heart physically stopped for a moment when he saw the girl. mason had to stop him from advancing over as scott told them not to get involved. it took all of liam's mental and physical strength to restrain himself from talking to her, and theo could tell.
"whatever." dark moonee rolled her eyes. "have you seen xan?"
theo smirked, "who, your girlfriend?" he said the last word a little louder, hoping liam would catch it.
dark moonee gave him a look, "why are you yelling?"
"xan isn't in today." franchie told her.
"great." dark moonee groaned, "how am i supposed to make it through the day?"
"i think you'll live." theo reassured her.
"we've got biology with mrs finch now, so no i won't." dark moonee announced while slamming her locker door shut.
"is liam in that class?" theo questioned.
"yeah." hayden nodded as they began to walk off.
"remember what i told you." theo turned to dark moonee.
she scoffed, "i don't take orders from you."
"as a matter of fact, you do." theo reminded her, "you all do."
dark moonee glared at him, "whatever."
"enjoy biology." he sneered.

"codominance, a relationship among alleles where both alleles contribute to the phenotype of the heterozygote. quite a mouthful, i know, but it's exactly what we'll be learning in today's lab." mrs finch told her class. "students in the first and third row, look behind you- these are your partners."
dark moonee, seated in the front row, didn't even have to turn around to see who she was working with. she already knew who it was as he had been burning a hole into the back of her head with his gaze.
with a grin on her face, dark moonee pivoted around and stared at liam. the boy's heart began to pound in his chest but luckily, dark moonee didn't have advanced hearing.
liam dunbar was nervous. he had no idea what to say to her because he didn't know whether she would act like franchie or hayden.
everyone in the class shuffled around to sit with their assigned partners. unsurprisingly, franchie was with hayden and corey was with mason. as mrs finch's continued to lecture the students on the day's biology topic, liam couldn't help but glance over to the girl beside him from time to time.
mrs finch had just finished drawing a very impressive diagram for codominance on the chalkboard, which involved a red fish and a blue fish mating to create a purple fish.
"remember that in codominance, neither allele is recessive- the phenotypes of both alleles are expressed." mrs finch explained. "in human blood, what is a good example of codominance?"
"type ab." corey said confidently.
"very good!" their teacher smiled. "so, today you're going to solve a little mystery."
"i love mysteries." franchie whispered to hayden, who gave her a smile.
"glad to hear that, francesca. so, two couples had babies on the same day in the same hospital." mrs finch informed them, "were the babies switched? open your packets and read the instructions."
"can i help you?" dark moonee spoke out as she skimmed through the packet in front of her.
liam was surprised that she decided to talk to him. "huh?"
"you need help reading this or what?" dark moonee questioned.
"no." he shook his head, "of course not."
"then what do you want?"
"are you okay?" liam eventually asked. "no one has seen you in the last three days and you've come back acting like everything's normal."
"has something happened?" dark moonee questioned, finally taking her eyes off the desk to look at him.
the first thing liam noticed was how much darker her features were, especially her beautiful, brown eyes - they were practically black.
"yes?!" liam exclaimed.
"what's your problem?" dark moonee hummed.
"my problem? you mean, how you're hanging out with a total psycho that tried to get me to kill your brother and then did it himself?" liam hissed. "yeah, okay. maybe that's my problem."
"that is so embarrasing." dark moonee chuckled.
"what?"
"that you and theo were incapable of permanently killing mccall." dark moonee shrugged.
liam looked appalled. "what is wrong with you?"
"be quiet."
"why are you acting like this?"
dark moonee groaned in irritation. "you are so annoying, you know that? i should've just killed you then and there."
before liam could respond, mrs finch walked over to them and gave them a stern look. "seems to be a lot of discussion over here. i can't imagine you've already solved the mystery, have you?"
"i mean, it's been three minutes since you gave us these packets... so obviously not." dark moonee told her.
mrs finch didn't even know what to say back to her remark, but she stood her ground, "get to it."
