They finally made it to the other side, everything was like the exact same.
"Let's never do that again" Viktor panted
"What? Narrowly escape the apocalypse?" Five asked
"Yeah well, it's kind of our thing isn't it?" Diego said
Diego had a weapon.
"There's something very wrong about that" Allison said
"Same suite, just ass backwards" Lila Said
"No hyperbole there" Valerie said
"This is some hardcore Alice in Wonderland shit" Ben commented
"Yeah, it only gets weirder" Diego said
They heard panting and it was Reginald who locked the door
"At last, the other side" Reginald panted
"Wait, where's Klaus?" Viktor asked
"Children, I'm sorry, but your brother.. I did all I could, but he didn't make it through in time. The kugelblitz has claimed its last victim" Reginald explained
"No, he was right behind me when I entered the tunnel" Valerie stated
"We need to go back" Sloane said
"There's nothing to go back to. Children, there will be time for tears later. Right now, we have to keep moving" Reginald said
He walked away.
"Wait, Luther and Klaus?" Viktor questioned
Everyone was sad at the thought of losing two people so quickly. They all made their way down to the lobby.
"It's magnificent" Reginald commented
"You guys should've stayed here. This place is way nicer" Ben said
"Lila and I barely got out alive last time. Remember?" Diego said
"Yeah but im here this time and the numbers are in our favor" Ben mentioned
"Well, whatever it was, it was strong, fast and super pissed" Lila stated
"Alright so, whatever you do, do not ring this bell" Diego warned
There was a bell on the counter.
"Unless you wanna lose a finger or a tentacle" Diego added
"I'll take my chances" Sloane said
"Don't!" Lila stopped
"Get out of my way" Sloane stated
"To take out this thing, we need to be in the right state of mind, okay?" Lila mentioned
"State of mind? Do you mean, am I angry? Yes, I am angry. I wanna kill whatever it is that hurt Luther" Sloane stated
"Luther isn't the only one that's gone. They lost Klaus too" Valerie said
"I'm angry, okay? We all are. We have to be smart about this? Alright?" Viktor added
"Yeah, when the time is right, we'll act" Lila said
Five was about to head out the door.
"Don't even try it, Five. Door won't let you out" Diego announced
"So, what? We're stuck here?" Allison asked
Valerie went over to Five.
"This place is a test and a trap and a means of salvation, all at once like" Reginald said
"Does anyone know what that sign says?" Viktor asked
"Yeah, it says "Do not ring the bell" that's what that means" Diego answered
"We get it, Diego. Bell bad. What do we do?" Five spoke
"Does anybody know?" Valerie asked
"Reggie? Reggie" Allison said
He was flipping through pages in his notebook.
"I'm hungry. Does anyone fancy an unagi roll?" Lila asked
"How can you possibly eat as a time like this?" Ben spat
"I don't know, how can you be a dick at a time like this" Lila replied
"Oh you will-" Ben said
"Hey! Back off, alright? She's eating for-" Diego defended
"Strength! In these trying times. Diego, can you come with me for a second?" Lila said
The two walked off, everyone went their own way. Staying in the lobby. Five, Viktor and Valerie were sitting down in a corner.
"Nah, it's like the old man said, once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, and three times ain't gonna happen cause im not a gibbering idiot" Five spoke
They were speaking quickly but loud enough for only each other to hear.
"Well we can't be sure he killed Klaus or Luther" Viktor mentioned
"You serious? This is his modus operandi, we've seen this before. Have you forgotten how we all came together in the first place?" Five asked
"Dad's funeral" Viktor sighed
"Exactly. He pulled this on your rubes before, and he's doing it again now" Valerie mentioned
"Come on, Valerie" Viktor sighed
"No, no, no. He lost the vote to come through the tunnel yet here we are" Valerie mentioned
"Are you two really sure that he could kill Luther?" Viktor asked
"I think he can kill Luther, Klaus and the rest of us without breaking a moral sweat" Valerie answered
"And what's worse, I think Allison is involved" Five mentioned
"No, no" Viktor scoffed
The three examined her
"No, she.. she was with Sloane in the tunnel" Viktor said
"I'm not talking about Klaus" Five said
"Luther? What? No, she would never do that" Viktor denied
"She's been unraveling since we got to this timeline" Five mentioned
"Yeah, she lost her daughter" Viktor mentioned
"And she killed Harlan" Valerie stated
"Look, even if you're right. I can't imagine they're just gonna come clean if we confront them" Viktor said
"I agree" Valerie and Five nodded
They were all watching as Reginald roamed around the hotel.
"Gather up, Children. Now that we've had a chance to catch our breath, the real work can begin" Reginald spoke
Valerie got up, grabbing her book.
"Ah, the myth of the seven bells, eh?" Five asked
"Exactly. Somebody's been paying attention" Reginald agreed
"Okay, so we find the bells, then what?" Diego asked
"No, no, no. The bells are just a metaphor for this" Reginald said
He showed everyone his notebook.
"The sigil" Valerie said
"Correct, Number Eight. The sigil is the key to the seven bells. Once we find this symbol, we're one step closer to resetting the universe" Reginald answered
"What do we do when we find it?" Sloane asked
"I don't know" Reginald answered
"Excuse me? We're here because you said you have a plan" Viktor mentioned
"I do, up to a point" Reginald said
"Great. So we'll just stay in the hotel forever, staring at the walls and eating bad sushi" Lila laughed
"Finding the sigil is our only way out of here and the best chance we have of resetting the universe" Allison spoke
"Funny how you and Dad are on the same page again" Five mentioned
"Okay, uh, where do we start?" Viktor asked
"We'll split into groups. I will go with Allison and Sloane. Ben and Five with Viktor and Valerie" Reginald spoke
"No, we want Allison" Viktor said
"Ben for Allison" Five said
"We've trained together so it makes more sense if we take Allison" Five said
"Yeah, no thanks" Allison rejected
"Why not?" Valerie asked
Allison stayed quiet
"Splendid idea. Allison, you go with the Umbrellas. Sparrows stick together"
"I'm not going with them" Valerie protested
Five signaled her to, Sloane and Ben looked at her. She sighed and gave in.
"Everyone take a different floor. We must find that sigil" Reginald said
"What about us?" Diego asked
"You're a duo. Nobody wants to listen to your endless bickering. Now spread out, leave no stone unturned, and meet back here in 30 minutes" Reginald answered
Valerie was now stuck being a Sparrow once more.
"This is a total waste of time" Ben complained
They were walking to the elevator. The three walking in, waiting for their father.
"I forgot my journal, go on. I'll meet you on five" He said
The three were confused, the elevator closed.
"Well that was strange" Valerie commented
They were now searching for clues.
"Oh, don't forget to check under the plants" Ben said
Ben was lacking off.
"Get off your ass and start inspecting the walls for hidden compartments" Valerie spat
"Hey, uh" Ben said
He knocked on the wall
"Here's a wall and uh, oh here's another wall" Ben said
"What the hell is wrong with you? People are dying left and right, and you're acting like a sulky teenager" Sloane mentioned
"You sound just like Dad" Ben commented
The girls were inspecting the hotel floor.
"Why is it so important for Dad to like you? He doesn't define you or us. We made our own mark in this world without him" Sloane said
"As the Sparrow Academy, but they're gone now" Ben said
"He was never a Sparrow! He was our dad, and a shitty one at that. You don't need him" Valerie argued
"Easy for you to say when you two have already got a new family" Ben replied
"And the best part of that family just died" Sloane cried
The three were glaring at one another, when Valerie heard a familiar voice.
"I can't believe I'm saying this. I'm actually glad to see you guys" Five said
Valerie hugged him then stood next to him.
"What's wrong?" Sloane asked
"The hotel is changing. I've been walking around in circles but it's like the thing is alive" Five spoke
"We should get back to the lobby" Ben suggested
"Tried it. Whatever direction I choose, I end up in the same spot" Five explained
"Or maybe you have no sense of direction" Ben insulted
"Okay, lead the way, Magellan" Five said
Ben waited then walked, the three followed. The three were finding a way out. The Hotel began to shake again, the lights changed to yellow.
They continued to walk, they made a turn and saw a creature, it had a sword.
"Really? A samurai?" Ben sighed
Sloane began to yell and charge at it. She flipped over it and began to crush it with her powers.
"Revenge looks good on her" Ben commented
"Would you shut up and help us kill this thing?" Five asked
Five grabbed an axe, Valerie closed her eyes quickly and blew on her page. An axe appearing in her hand. She handed her book to Ben. Ben just stood there and watched.
They were now inside the laundromat. Valerie drew herself a sword instead.
"You've hit him with your axe five times. He should be dead by now" Ben said
"It's the armor, it's like hitting cement" Five replied
"There's a space between the backplates" Sloane mentioned
"We need to get behind him" Five said
"I can get behind it, im quick" Valerie suggested
"Let's kill this thing" Sloane nodded
"Wait Sloane-" Valerie said
Valerie and Ben stayed back. They heard Five knocked back, Valerie got on top of the washing machines with Ben. He was using his tentacles while she stood there waiting for her time.
Ben was struggling and Valerie was about to kill it when Ben's tentacles ripped. Ben wailed in pain, Valerie stood in front of the guardian and was ready to fight it with her sword.
When Five came from behind and stuck the axe on it. They all gave each other a thankful look. They were now back at the lobby. Klaus and everyone were now there too.
"Klaus" Five said
"Oh you look like hell"
"Why don't you try killing a guardian
"We just did" Viktor said
"So did we" Valerie mentioned
"Klaus, i thought you were dead" Sloane
"Yes, yes. I'm alive and amazing. Despite dad's attempts to bash my brains in but tearful reunions later. What you guys need to know right now is that Dad killed Luther and he locked me out of the tunnel, and he rang that stupid bell!" Klaus told
They all headed towards Reginald, furious.
"What's your plan, old man?" Five asked
"We don't have time for this" Reginald said
"You killed Luther!" Sloane yelled
"I had no choice. You refused to come together as a team" Reginald said
"All of your stupid myths and stories. There were never seven bells or Norsemen" Ben stated
"You brought us here to die!" Valerie yelled
"That's not so. Somewhere in this hotel is the key to resetting the universe. We just need to find the sigil!" Reginald denied
"I don't care about your sigil! None of us do" Sloane said
"We barely survived that guardian with his stupid helmet and his sickle!" Diego said
Valerie saw Five leave, she followed him.
"The guardian we killed had an axe" Viktor said
"Ours had a sword" Sloane said
"There's one left" Lila and Diego realized
"We have to go after it" Sloane suggested
"Yeah because that worked so well the first time" Ben said
Five looked over, Valerie wasn't far behind him.
"You got any painkillers or could you just please shut up" Klaus groaned
The others bickered, Five seemed to connect the puzzle pieces.
"Hey! I found the sigil! It's on the-" Five yelled
They heard glass shatter, turning their heads around, seeing the last guardian and what seemed like a pickax being swung, Five's arm flew off. Five screamed in pain, Valerie screamed in fear but rushed to his aid.
Five was knocked over to the ground, Valerie held him. Explosions from below were heard, Valerie held Five up and took his tie off, tying the wound to make it stop bleeding. She peaked over and saw Sloane struggling, She attempted to use her own power but saw Luther.
"The sigil is in the lobby floor! It's the stars!" Valerie announced
She helped Five down.
"Children, find a star on the sigil. Stand in it!" Reginald said
Valerie did her best in trying to help Five down the stairs. She heard Reginald ushering to step on a star. Reginald wanted Five on the last bell. Allison and Valerie were left, Valerie shoved Five to the bell.
They all turned blue and left a light, killing the guardian. They heard noises, the others were in pain. Valerie was confused, the place was turning golden. Valerie's heart ached at the sight of the others.
Reginald was now in some kind of dome.
"This wasn't part of the deal, you're hurting them" Allison said
"We were right! You did make a deal!" Valerie exclaimed
"I can't stop now. It'd shut down the machine" Reginald said
Valerie was trying to find a way to pull one of them back. Ignoring the others bickering. The energy increased, Valerie was tearing up.
"He killed Luther, he tried to kill Klaus. He won't stop until we're all dead" Five spoke
Valerie stared at Allison.
"Do something please!" Valerie cried
The younger girl began to sob.
"Allison please do something!" Valerie sobbed
Valerie attempted everything she could but nothing worked. She knew she wouldn't stand a chance going against her father. She spotted Allison grabbing a weapon.
Allison killed Reginald. They were all released, Valerie ran to check on everyone. Allison stepped closer to a red circle. She was about to touch it.
"Allison, Allison don't touch that button. We don't know what it does" Five groaned
"Allison, stop!" Viktor Said
He got his power ready.
"Do you trust me?" Allison asked
Valerie and everyone were trying to stop her, Valerie was running towards her when it was too late and she had pushed it.
Valerie was inside what was like an elevator, her clothes were the same ones she had worn but were clean. The elevator door bell went off, the doors opened, she locked eyes with the only guy she's ever liked.
They all looked shocked at seeing Valerie. They all continued to celebrate that they were alive. Ben ran up to hug his sister.
"Sloane? Sloane?" Luther asked
He walked over to Five.
"I don't care about any resets, alright? I want my wife back. Where is she, Five?" Luther asked
"I'm glad you're alive but please take your hand off me" Five said
"Not until you give me an answer" Luther denied
"Okay, screw this" Five sighed
Five jumped but his powers didn't work.
"That's right something's wrong, you're about to get your ass kicked" Luther threatened
"Yeah kick his ass" Diego encouraged
"No you moron. My power, i can't blink" Five said
Diego took out one of his knives, he spun it around but it fell.
"That's not good" Diego said
Viktor tried too, so did Ben, Valerie and Klaus. Everyone agreed to live their own lives, Five grabbed Valerie's hand. They walked off together.
"Say, what about we finish what we never got to" Five asked
"Fine by me" Valerie smiled
The two continued to walk, hoping they could remake their lives and get to know each other better and in a new way they hadn't before.
