He gave Meng Shanshan a fish skewer and Meng Yuran and Lu Mingzhe each a meat skewer, then he gave a barbecued steamed bun skewer to Lin Yiyi.
Lin Yiyi, “……”
“Your temper is stinky and tough; steamed buns suit you the best,” said Lu Xun with a lack of desire for survival.
Lu Mingzhe, who had just accepted the meat skewer in a daze, had a very speechless look on him.
Meng Yuran kept his head lowered and focused on eating his skewer. He wanted to laugh out loud but he must try to control himself. He was also calling this Lu guy crazy in his mind.
“You’re crazy!” Lin Yiyi had already said it out loud for her son. That being said, she still reached out to accept the steamed buns. It was already dinner time.
The makeshift food that they’ve had in the afternoon had long been digested. No wonder none of the children objected to the skewers. They didn’t care that they were still inside the car but started eating immediately after they got their hands on the skewers.

Meng Yuran and Lu Mingzhe, with tacit understanding, turned and looked out of the windows. They continued to work on their meat skewers, except they had slowed down their pace by a lot.
Lin Yiyi, too, had slowed down on her pace. She looked up at him.
He had finally said it out loud!
Lu Xun felt both nervous and relieved at the same time.
Before Lin Yiyi had said anything, he got back out of the car, walked over the driver’s side, and sent her over to the passenger side. “You eat. I’ll drive.”
Lin Yiyi reflexively looked behind her again.
The two adolescent boys, who were looking at them uncontrollably earlier, had once again, turned and looked out of the windows with tacit understanding.
Meng Shanshan, on the other hand, with grease from the fish all over her face, gnawed on the food as she stared at the two of them with her big eyes.
Was this really a good time… To say something like that to her?
Lin Yiyi, too, took a big bite of the fish with her head lowered.
The car headed slowly and steadily toward the Lin’s mansion.
After they had gotten out of the car, Lin Yiyi noticed that all of them had been well taken care of. At least they were all half full from the barbeque. With the exception that Lu Xun has not had even one bite this entire way. This foodie had waited this entire time.
Ms. Lin Ping walked out from the dining room and lethargically used a toothpick between her teeth after she had finished her dinner. She took a look at Lin Yiyi and said, “It looks like you ate already? Perfect. We didn’t prepare dinner for you.”
Yeah, right!
She was just worried whether the kids would be hungry but now that they looked full, she made that statement purposefully.
Mr. Gu Chengyi knew better than to contradict anything that his wife said.
Lu Xun followed Lin Yiyi into the mansion and was shocked when he heard that there wouldn’t be dinner.
Not wanting Lin Yiyi to be hungry, he drove the entire way back and hadn’t had a chance to eat at all. He only walked into the mansion with them because Lin Yiyi felt bad and invited him in for dinner.
Hearing what Ms. Lin Ping had just said, Lu Xun’s heart dropped and he regretted deeply. “I haven’t eaten anything yet, had I known…”
Had I known??!
Lin Yiyi looked over at him.
Would he have eaten the food himself had he known sooner?
