Haydn's POV

About two weeks had passed since the last time I—or anyone else—had seen Adriana, and even if no one was saying anything, I knew that people were beginning to wonder where she had run off to. Everyone knew that she was somehow wrapped up with me, and with Trace and Jayson so conveniently making their appearances only shortly after I did, you can only imagine the things that were going on in people's heads. I couldn't really just go up to people and ask them if they knew where she was though because as far as I was concerned, her only actual friends were Cassandra and Andrew, and the two of them were completely clueless about here whereabouts. 'Some friends. . .'

Not really caring about whether or not they knew, I walked off in the direction of the parking lot where I saw my brother making out with his girlfriend. Me being the jackass that I am cleared my throat and threw a snowball at both of them, making them break apart and look at me with angry looks on their faces. “Really, Haydn?” Cassandra began, “Act your age, not you goddamn shoe size.”

I rolled my eyes at her, turning to face my brother. “Any word, bro?” He shook his head, making me a bit more annoyed than I had already been. Chase had been the last person to see Adriana before she went 'missing' and even he doesn't have the slightest clue where she could be. I hadn't been desperate enough to ask her brother if he had seen her, but I was beginning to run out of options here.

I mean, the one girl I was actually beginning to have feelings—other than sexual ones anyway—was gone and it was because I was dumb enough to let her out of my sight. It wasn't necessarily my fault, but I wasn't pointing fingers. My main concern was finding her before anyone else could, and if I could do that in time, then I guess I could say I didn't really have nothing to worry about.

That thought completely disappeared from my mind when Trace made his way over to me looking far less than his best. His blonde hair that was normally combed back had been on a mess on top of his head, his blue eyes seemed almost black and he had purple bags under his eyes as if he hadn't been sleeping for a few days. You could only guess the kind of pain he was going through knowing that his little sister was missing, and that feeling was probably worsened when he realized he had to suck up his pride to ask me to help him so we could find her and bring her back safely. Though he didn't ask it, the look was evident on his face.

“Look,” he began, “you and I are probably the furthest thing from friends, but I need your help.” I didn't say anything at first; I wanted him to specify and pretty much beg for my help. Sure, it was low, and it was a waste of time, but how many chances would I get to do this again?

Of course, when I saw the pained look in his eyes, I knew I couldn't turn him down. He cared for Adriana as much as I did, and having her gone was probably killing him inside. “Trace, I—”

“—I already know that we're not friends, and helping me is the last thing that you want to do, but she's my sister, and she obviously means something to you. So, I'm asking you, not as a friend, but as someone who cares and wants to find Adriana to help me do just that.” I was going to question him, but he began speaking again before I got the chance to. “You can't tell me that you don't care that she's missing, Haydn. I see that way you stare longingly at her locker as if waiting for her to show up, and I see the way that you frown when you see that she isn't in any of her classes like she's supposed to be. You care about her and you know it.”

Clenching my jaw, I looked away from Trace and back at Chase and Cassandra. They were both staring at me with knowing eyes, and I knew that no matter how much I disliked Trace, and no matter how much I despised the people he associated himself with, I had to help, because he was right. I did care about Adriana, and I did want to know if she was safe or not. Saying no to him would just seem petty, and I couldn't do that—no matter how tempted I felt.

I turned back around with a sigh and didn't say anything. We shared a knowing look that pretty much said one thing.

We were going to find Adriana, and we were going to have to do it tonight.

* * * * *

I let out a groan, rolling over onto my bed and opening my eyes slightly when my arms brushed against something warm. In my distorted morning vision, all I could see was a head of dark brown hair, but when I looked closer, I was surprised to see Adriana sleeping soundly next to me. 'Had she never gone missing?'

Not believing she was here, I threw the blanket off of both of our bodies and was shocked to find the both of us naked. The sudden rush of cold air must have woken her up though because her eyes quickly shot open and she looked at me with what was most likely supposed to be a glare, but in her tired state, it just looked like she was adjusting her eyes to the sun that was in the room. I couldn't help but smile at her because of it, and that woke her up even further because she sat up and stretched, not caring that her breasts were exposed—along with every other part of her body. “What's the deal, Haydn? All I was trying to do was sleep.”

I shrugged, not sure of how to answer. I had just spent the past two weeks believing that she was missing, and now here she is right in front of me, naked, in my bed. “Sorry, you just caught me off guard.”

This made her raise an eyebrow, even though she was still rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. “What? Were you expecting me to be gone or something by the time you woke up?”

“What? No—”

“—was I just some one-night-stand to you?”

“Adriana, not at all. . .” Now frowning, she brought her knees to her chest and covered up most of her exposed body. If I had really wanted to, I could have just peaked between her knees and saw her untouched mound, but considering the circumstance, I wasn't really in the mood for it. “Why are you trying to turn me into a bad guy here, Adri? You know that I care about you.”

She laughed to herself, running a hand through her dark brown hair before saying, “You sure as hell have a funny way of showing it. But we're not arguing about it now. I just. . . Want to forget for now.”

When she said that, her knees slid down from her chest and aside from the hair that was flowing down her body, I could see her breasts perfectly again. I looked up for a second to meet her eyes, only to see that she was staring at me with a not so familiar lust; something that sent shock and excitement all throughout my body, making my shaft stand at attention.

I reached to cover it, but she shook her head and walked over to me, placing one hand on my privates and one behind my neck. “Don't you want to help me forget, Haydn?” And without so much as giving me time to answer, she smashed her lips on mine and began to stroke me back and forth; making me harder and harder each time. I wasn't sure what had changed in her to bring this on, but at the moment, I didn't care much either. Her body language was enough to let me know that she wanted this as bad as I did, and I wasn't going to reject her only real request.

Picking her up from under her ass, I carried her back onto the bed until I was hovering on top of her with one hand on her breast and the other touching her most vulnerable spot. She gasped, giving me the access I needed to stick my tongue in her mouth, which caught her off guard again.

This continued on for a few minutes before she began grinding her hips into mine, repeating the words, “Take me, Haydn,” over and over again. Surely enough, I reached into my nightstand and grabbed a condom, placing it on myself before carefully taking the plunge into her body. She let out a cry of pain, and when I looked down at her, I could see tears brewing in her eyes. “I'm sorry, Adri. . .” I whispered to her, “But the pain will stop soon. I promise. . .”

Pulling out, I moved back inside her a little bit slower and then faster until the crying stopped and the moaning began. The sounds of her moans were beautiful, and I couldn't help but kiss her and caress her face as I continued thrusting into her. “Oh. . . God, Haydn!”

I closed my eyes and placed my face in the crook of her neck, keeping my motions steady and even. I was going to finish pretty soon, and just as I was about to, there was a loud bang. Quickly, I opened my eyes, only to find that I was now alone in my room, with Adriana nowhere in sight.

* * * * *

“Haydn.” My eyes opened and I looked up in the direction of the door with my gun in hand, pointed at the person who had barged into my room. When I saw who it was, I hesitantly put the gun down and wiped the beads of sweat off of my face, clearly making my younger brother a bit more concerned than he needed to be. “Are you OK?”

I couldn't speak.

My mind continued to race back to the scene that had just taken place in my subconscious thoughts. 'How could something that seemed to real have only been a dream?' Cupping my face in my hands, I blew out a sigh and ran a hand through my brown hair. I would need a few minutes to myself before I even considered doing anything else, but to keep Chase from worrying about me, I looked at him and slowly nodded. “I'm fine, Chase. Just had a bad dream.”

He nodded, “Good thing I woke you up then, huh?” He laughed to himself before continuing. “Well, I just came to tell you that Trace is here. Are you ready to get down to business?”

Wide awake now, I pushed the dream to the back of my mind and nodded. “Yeah, I'm ready.” Picturing Adriana's face in my mind again, I walked out of the room with my brother and bit my lower lip. Things were about to get messy, but if I wanted her safely back in my arms again, it was now or never.

By the time I had made it over to the living room, I had managed to calm down at least a little bit and my mind wasn't anywhere but where it needed to be. I couldn't really explain the dream as anything other than something fueled by lust, but again, I couldn't think about it until everything was done and over with.

So, when I saw Cassandra and Trace sitting patiently on the couches, I knew that I had to be serious and that I had to come up with a plan to get Adri back. Walking over to the front of the living room, I clapped my hands together and blew out another sigh. “You all know why we're here, so lets get to thinking. We need a plan to find her—”

“—Haydn, don't act like you don't already know where she is.” All three of us looked over at Cassandra and when I saw her narrowing her eyes at me, I couldn't help but let myself get a little angry. “You're the reason she's in this mess in the first place. The only reason Jayson came back after two years of being gone was because you began messing around with the one thing that he wanted to remain his. Had you just left her alone—”

“—I have nothing to do with why Jayson came back! No one told her to date him in the first place!” Walking over to her, I watched as she stood up so we were eye level, and in my peripheral vision I saw Chase getting closer to Cassandra in a protective manner. Brother or not, I knew that he wouldn't hesitate to hit me if I put his girlfriend in harms way. “The reason he came back was because he wanted to finish what he started. Adding me onto the list only made it all the more interesting for him. So do not blame me for anything of this!”

We stared each other down for a bit before Chase pulled her away and into the direction of the kitchen. Her outburst hadn't done anything but waste my time, and now I was even more frustrated and annoyed than I had been when I woke up! I had every right to be annoyed though! She had accused me of being the reason that Adriana was gone; told me that I was the reason that she was involved in gangs. If I was correct, Cassandra was dating my brother; my gang member brother, and she had the nerve to tell me that I was Adriana's influence?

Fuck that!

Still trying to keep my cool though, I sat down on the couch and looked over at Trace. He didn't look any better now than he did when we were at school, but it wasn't like I could really blame him. His little sister was missing, and sure, he had just missed out on four years of her life, but not having the opportunity to make up for that must be killing him inside. He left her to join a gang just to prove that he could be on his own, and look what happened because of it.

I hadn't bothered waiting for Chase of Cassandra to come back into the living room before I spoke again. “What do you think that we should do, Trace? We can't just sit around and wait for a miracle.”

He nodded, but he didn't say anything—not at first anyway. After a few seconds of silence, he blew out an exasperated sigh and looked up to meet my eyes, and I nearly flinched at how similar they were to Adriana's. Now that I could actually see the color, I saw more and more similarities between the two siblings. It was almost scary how much they looked alike, but the more I thought about it, the luckier they seemed. Chase and I looked almost nothing alike, and it made me wonder how we were even related at all. Of course, I would never tell him I felt that way. Even if we hadn't been blood related, Chase had always been my little brother and nothing would change that.

My thoughts were only interrupted when I heard footsteps coming from the direction of the kitchen. I was going to say something to Chase, but was stopped when I heard a knock on the front door. We all froze, and Trace rose to his feet as if he was going to walk over and see who it was; something I quickly stopped him from doing with nothing more than a look.

We all stayed deathly still for a while until there was a second knock. This time, I walked over and looked through the peep hole, my entire body freezing. Without so much as a moments hesitation, I opened the door and gasped at what I saw.

“Adri?”
