Cigarettes
Like oxygen
When one isn't dangling from the lips
Everything feels lost
And empty
Frantic
Doom sets in
Every single fear is awakened
The world is nearing its end

One more cancer stick left
Held between the lips
And hands cup the lighter
Inhale smoke
Exhale smoke
This one will last
Another five minutes down the road
For when we scrape together enough pocket change
For another pack
