POV TRAEVON ERIKSSON
Caelen San Rafael. A newbie Werewolf and probably the greatest mystery in Werewolf history.
She was able to travel here in the heart of the national park in a matter of hours even without a teleportation ability. Only the Grayson Direct Heirs can do such a feat.
Caelen is technically a Lone Wolf as she is not associated with any family nor she does not have any existing Mate. However, she was able to transform back to human form.
Caelen is also in her mid twenties but this is her first transformation. Normally, newbie Werewolf transforms when they reach their eighteenth year. She is also not aware about the Werewolf world and has no idea who the hell is her Alpha.
"Kailan ka pa dito sa kagubatan ng Isabela?" tanong ni Caelen na binuksan ang malaking pack ng chips.
"Dalawang araw na ko dito. I will stay here for a week. Bakasyon muna ako bago bumalik sa trabaho. Ikaw, kailan ka babalik sa Maynila?"
"Dito muna ko sa Isabela. Natatakot akong maging Werewolf muli baka may makakita sa akin. Alam mo na? Baka maging viral ako."
"After your first transformation, you can control your next transformation. Werewolves are advised to transform every Full moon or Red Moon. The transformation allows us to refresh our powers."
"May powers ang Werewolf? Like ano? Share mo sa akin! Bilis!" excited na tanong nito sabay alok sa akin ng chips as if siya ang may ari nito.
Lumapit ako sa kanya at binigyan siya ng blanket. Hindi ako mapakali na suot lang niya ang tshirt ko at walang kahit anong panloob. Kahit tanging ang campfire ang ilaw namin, malinaw kong natatanaw ang kabuuan ng kanyang katawan.
"There are twelve Werewolf families. Each Direct Heir of the Werewolf Family has a unique ability. Eriksson Direct Heirs are known for mind control or manipulation."
"Kanina mo pa sinasabi ang Direct Heirs? Ano 'yon?"
"Imagine the Direct Heirs as the eldest son of each generation. Our Alpha named Ezraikiel is the patriarch of the Eriksson Family. His first son is Meshach and he is called the First Heir. The first son of Meshach is the next Direct Heir and so on and so forth."
"So mga panganay na lalaki?"
"That is right. My grandfather Tyrell Eriksson was a former Direct Heir. The title was passed down to my father, Tristan Eriksson as he is the only son of Tyrell. The title can only be transferred to the eldest son."
"Mas powerful ba ang pinakabatang Direct Heir kumpara sa First Heir? For example, ikaw? Mas powerful ka ba compare kay First Heir Meshach?"
"In terms of power, yes. But since the First Heirs are a group of old dudes, we rely on them for wisdom and decision making in our clan."
"How about your Alpha Ezraikiel Eriksson. Anong power ni Alpha Ezra?"
"The former Alpha is known for his telekinesis, hypnosis and creation of illusion."
"What do you mean former Alpha? So ikaw na ang new alpha? It means kaya mo na din ang mga superpowers na 'yan?"
Tumango lang ako at bakas sa mukha niya ang interest sa kwento ko tungkol sa mga Werewolf. Mukhang wala nga siyang ideya kung ano ang Werewolf Clan at ang mga Direct Heirs.
Binuksan ko ang aking kamay at ipinakita sa kanya ang holographic video kung paano nangyari ang pagkasira ng Sodom at Gomorrah. Tanging ako at si Alpha Ezraikiel lamang ang may kakayahan na gumawa ng ganitong ilusyon.
Ibinahagi ko kay Caelen ang maikling kasaysayan ng aming angkan na nagsimula sa pagbibigay kapangyarihan ni Guardian Raviael sa mga Alpha. Binanggit ko din sa kanya na naka-hibernate noon ang mga Alpha sa Morpheus Castle dahil nagkaroon sila ng uncontrollable killing rage. Kahit ang itsura ng Morpheus Castle ay ipinakita ko din sa kanya.
"Traevon, anong nangyari sa mga original Alpha? Bakit ikaw na ngayon ang Alpha ng Eriksson Family? Hindi ba dapat ang Alpha ay ang pinakamatanda? Eh ikaw ang pinakabata, 'di ba?"
"Several months ago, the twelve Alpha escaped the Morpheus Castle. They were infected with a disease. We call it the Black Death disease. The Thirteenth Alpha was able to kill them one at a time. He has no choice but to end their lives."
According to legends, Werewolves are cursed beings that will turn into their wolf form during the full moon. They have no control over their transformation and they will obliterate any humans on their path.
In other words, a pack of uncontrollable killers that are designed to bring havoc and death.
But that is not exactly true. Werewolves are magical beings powered by the blessing of a Guardian named Raviael. He blessed our thirteen Werewolf Alpha with supreme power to protect humanity against the evil forces that want to bring chaos in this world.
"So kayong mga Direct Heirs or ang pinakabata na tagapagmana ng inyong angkan ang nag inherit ng mga alpha super powers?"
"The power of the Direct Heirs is next to the power of the Alpha. So yeah, you can say that."
"Turuan mo pa ko ng mga Werewolf stuff! Teach me how to doggy! I mean, Teach Me How To Alpha!"
"Well, you are stuck with me for a few days. I might as well teach you a thing or two about the Werewolf lineage."
Niyaya ko si Caelen at naglakad kami malapit sa cliff kung saan tanaw namin ang buong national park. Kahit pareho kaming estranghero ay tila magaan ang loob namin sa isa't isa.
"Caelen, do you want to experience how it feels like an Alpha?"
"Oo naman---"
Mabilis ko binuhat si Caelen at bigla itong napakapit sa leeg ko sa pagkabigla. Mas lalong humigpit ang yakap nito nang naglakad ako malapit sa dulo ng cliff.
"Teka Traevon, huwag mo sasabihin na tatalon ka---"
Mabilis akong tumakbo at tumalon sa mataas na parte ng cliff. Hindi lahat ng Alpha ay kayang gawin ito, pero dahil ang mommy ko ay ang Direct Heir ng Thirteenth Alpha, natutunan ko kung paano pabagalin ang pagbulusok ko pababa.
"Traevon, lumilipad ba tayo?" tanong ni Caelen na mahigpit na kumapit sa akin.
"No, we're falling, but we are taking it slow."
"Ang lakas ng trip mo! Wala naman ako sinabi na tumalon ka! Alam mo naman na wala akong panty!"
"At least, nalamigan ang flower mo---"
Mabilis na kinurot ni Caelen ang braso ko dahil sa sinabi ko. She does not have any idea that she is with the Royal Heir of the Werewolf Clan. Walang babae na magtatangka na kurutin ang isang tulad ko.
