Elizabeth's POV
*Flashback*
August 29th, 2016.
It was the first day of 8th grade I had a purple flower floral dress with white thong sandals. I was walking with Holden and he had on a plan white shirt, black jeans, and white high top Fila sneakers on.
"Holden, are ready for 8th grade?" I said to him
"No" he said
"Why not? One more year then high school" I said being excited
"Because it's school, Elizabeth" he said looking at me
"Hey, do you think something is going to happen this year?"
"What you mean by that?" He said being confused
"I mean every one except for you are 13 and since we're all teenagers do you think people are gonna start dating?"
"Why you worry about that? Last year you said your father won't let you and Kimberly date until you turn 18"
"I know I'm just wondering"
"Is this because Carlos started to like Selena?"
I turned him to face me "Carlos likes Selena?" I said being shocked
"Oh I forgot to tell you that when you came back from London" he said chuckling
We walked to the middle school and we saw Carlos, Selena, Marlon, Denzel, Benicio, and Monique. Marlon had a high top fade at the time and wearing all black, black shirt, shorts and sneakers. Denzel with plaits braid with a track suit and Jordan's on with a cross chain. Monique had on a white shirt saying 'queen' with blue jean shorts and high top retro Nikes on. Selena also had a jean jacket over a black crop tip with a black mini skirt and black thong sandals. Carlos had on a long sleeve green flannel shirt and blue jeans and low top Adidas on. Benicio had a blue baseball t shirt with blue jeans and white air forces on.
"Yo, we all look fresh as fuck today" Monique said checking us all out
"Hey Benicio, I like them white air forces man" Denzel said looking down at Ben's shoes
"Yo they are clean" Marlon said waving them in mid air
"Aye, maybe we should get Holden a pair?" Marlon said looking up at Holden
Holden sat on the stairs "They're expensive man. I'm not even gonna bother asking my parents they got three mouths to feed since Adedayo, Oba, and Latifah left"
"Same here man" Carlos said sitting next to Holden
"Hey where's Corey?" Selena said looking around
There was a truck coming and it was playing that song from the movie Back To The Future 'The Power of Love'.
The truck was coming and everybody saw Corey on a skateboard riding on the back of the truck like Marty McFly.
"That's the power of love" the truck raido played before Corey let go "Thanks Brock" he said skating up to school property
Corey made his way through of students than skated to us. "What's up everybody"
"Yo, that was the best entrance I seen" Marlon said hi fiving Corey
"I had to do to impress the people who transferred here" he said fiving the rest of us
"I know I see some fine girls" Marlon said looking at other girls
"Yeah look at the guys too" Selena said looking
"Yeah they look the same. White and privilege" Carlos said because he had a crush on Selena at the time
Monique checked Corey's outfit. Red Eminem shirt, blue jeans, and white Nike shoes. "Are you trying to dress like Marty McFly?"
"No. I'm waiting for Halloween" Corey said laughing
"Are you getting a head start because you already got the haircut" Benicio said shaking Corey's hair
"I say he looks more like Jimmy Neutron but without that science sign on his shirt and a old bowl Justin Bieber haircut instead of a dookie shaped hairstyle" Marlon said laughing
"Whatever, you guys don't know nothing. Oh and hey, what homeroom you guys got?"
Corey said getting his schedule from his pocket.
"My homeroom teacher is Mr. Culkin"
"I got him too" Marlon said looking at his
We all exchanged schedules we all got the same homeroom teacher. As the bell rung we all went into the school then all nine of us was walking to our homeroom then we see our teacher standing infront of his door "Stand at the back of the class" he said
As people stopped coming in the students all lined up at the back. There was four rows of tables and three lined up.
"Okay. Well then, welcome to the 8th grade everyone I'm your homeroom and history teacher Mr. Culkin. Now I'll assign your seats but you guys can choose wherever you can see that starting Thursday"
"Elizabeth Watson and Bartleby Beauregard are in the front. Sadie Wiggins and Maria Torres are in the second. Todd Slater and Dante Madden are in the third row" he said as he was moving on the second row
"Arbor Trotta and Kingsley Levert are in the front row. Taylor McKnight and Kelly Palmer are in the second row. Ebony Prince and Michael Medina are in the third row" he said moving the the third row
"Sophia Test and Angel Sanchez are in the front row. Benicio Vargas, Jr. and Carlos Borrego are in the second row. Denzel Saint and Marlon Boseman are in the second row" he said moving to the last row
"In the front row is Corey Emerson, IV and Thuy Nguyen. Did I say that right?" he said looking at Thuy "Yes" she said
"Alright then, Monique Phifer and Selena Alcazar-Morales are in the second row. Now that last row is Holden Chu.. Chu.."
Mr. Culkin looked at Holden "Excuse me young man can you say you're name for me"
"It's... Holden Chukwudi" Holden said shyly.
"A fascinating name. Well Holden you don't mind sitting by yourself"
"No sir" Holden said walking to the table
As I looked to the left side of the room I released I'm by myself over here. They're basically sit with each other and Holden got his on table for himself.
"Um excuse me" the person next to me said
"Oh hello"
"Hey. I'm new to this school so I think I get a bit lost" he said shyly
"Okay let me see if I can help you. Let me see your schedule" I said with a small smile
He got out his schedule and handed it too me. I scanned through "It looks like we got some classes together. You can follow me" I said to him
"Thanks. By the way do you have an accent" he said asking
"Yes I moved here from London almost six years ago by next month" I said to him
"That's cool. I like you accent" he said
"Thanks" I said
I keep looking back at Holden being all alone in the back of the class.
The first bell rung and we all left to go our separate ways. By lunch I was walking by myself with my lunch I packed.
"Hey Elizabeth" I heard a voice call my name
I turn around to see Holden jogging with Benicio "Hey Elizabeth, how was your classes so far?" Holden said asking
"They were nice. You?" I said
"They were alright. It's just for some reason... for some reason it's like I know more what they're saying. I don't know how to describe it"
"What do you mean?" I asked
"Well last period we had math and he corrected the teacher on a problem that teaches the smart kids" Benicio said
"Wow. Maybe you can be the teacher and your teacher will be the student"
"That would be hilarious" Benicio said
"Oh Elizabeth, you are not gonna believe it."
"What is it?"
"Remember I told you my sister is getting married"
"Yeah?"
"It turns out it's Benicio's brother" he said smiling
I looked at Holden to my right than Benicio to my left "Really. Wait so that means you both are gonna be" I said smiling at them both
"In February, we be siblings in law, so we gonna be brothers" Benicio said hi fiving Holden
The three of us walked to the cafeteria to see our round table near the entrance and the bathroom with Marlon, Corey and Monique waiting for us.
"About time you guys showed up, the line is getting long" Marlon said running off to the line
"Yo, did you guys had science with Mr. Tolliver yet? Corey said as Benicio, Holden and I sat at the table
"No why?" Benicio asked
Corey looked at Monique "Well he said on Fridays he plays Bill Nye" Monique said being happy
"Without taking notes" Corey said finishing her sentence
"About time a teacher does that. Last year Ms. Fields had us did notes and nobody did them expect me" Holden said getting his sandwich out of his paperbag
Denzel came with a tray "Yo, I'm ready for the high school lunches, I heard it's an upgrade"
Selena showed up right after him "The food from Elementary school was better"
"Yeah and since last year I started packing lunch like these four" Benicio said as he biting into an apple
Carlos and Marlon walked over at the table with they're trays. Since last year we all picked a circle table so we can talk to face each other and basically had seats for us. It's Selena, Carlos, Denzel, Monique, Corey, Marlon, Benicio, Holden, and me. There was one seat open but we just let it be.
"So is anyone thinking about changing seats in homeroom on Thursdays?" I asked
They all shook their heads "You can sit with me since I'm the only one with an empty seat" Holden said
"Even know I'm not sitting next to any of you I'm cool where I'm at" Corey said with his hand up
"Why? You want to sit next to that asian girl?" Marlon said jokingly
"I'm not gonna lie she cute but I don't know her"
"But like I was saying. You can sit next to me if you want" Holden said getting his trash ready to throw away
"I was thinking about that" I said looking at him
"Oh, so you gonna leave that white boy" Monique said
"Probably?" I said thinking about it
"Elizabeth I was looking at your direction. Whatever his name was into you" Selena said opening the cap to her milk
"Really? I didn't notice" I said finishing my sandwich
"What's his name" Holden said
"I believe he said it's Bartleby Beauregard" I said
Some of them started to laugh "What the fuck kind of name is Bartleby Beauregard?" Marlon said laughing
"That sounds like a rich guy's name from somewhere like Louisiana" Denzel said laughing as well
"White people got the weirdest names am I right" Corey said eating jello
"Yeah Corey Emerson, IV is right. Bartleby Beauregard is a weird name" Monique said jokingly to him making him laugh
"Corey Emerson is a normal name and the IV is a bonus"
"It's called having parents with being lazy" Denzel said right before drinking his chocolate milk
"Denzel, your full name is Denzel Booker Tiger Saint" Corey said laughing
"Wait, you have tiger in your name?" Selena said since it's her first time here that
"My name is gonna be a name you gonna hear on the news because I'm pissing off too much white people for being a revolutionary" he said
"Man I bet Benicio was named after Benicio Del Toro, Denzel was named after Denzel Washington, Selena after the singer, Elizabeth, after the queen of England, Holden after the character from 'Catcher and the Rye' and Marlon is named after Marlon Wayans, Marlon Brando, or Marlon Jackson from 'The Jacksons' Family" Monique said to us
"She ain't wrong" Denzel said getting up with his tray up
"Yeah" Benicio going to the trash
"At this point after Selena died, most Latinas around my age who is name Selena is because of her. Selena Gomez said her parents named her Selena after the singer" Selena said
"I was named after the best actresses in London, Elizabeth Taylor" I said to her
"My grandma was a fan of her" Corey said
After we all threw all trash away 10 minutes went by and the bell rung to go to our next classes. I went to my next class, heath with Denzel, Corey and Monique then on my last period Bartleby and I went to our last class history, then study hall.

Tuesday and Wednesday went by fast and now it's Thursday and I decided to sit with Holden.
As we walked into class I followed Holden to his table to sit next to him.
As we all came in Corey saw Thuy still at his table. "Hey you gonna stay here?" Corey said while standing looking at her
"I hope it's not a problem, I just want to sit here" Thuy said innocently
"No that's fine, I didn't mean to sound like a jerk saying 'oh you still gonna sit here', I don't mind at all" Corey said
"It's okay" Thuy said nicely
Corey sat down on his side and turned around "Guys, I'm just ready for the four day weekend"
"I know, it's been boring" Selena said
"I just wanna go home and get some sleep" Carlos said laughing
Benicio walked into homeroom and sat at his chair "Yo, I overheard Mr. Culkin and Mr. Tolliver talking about we gonna have an assembly before lunch"
"What is it?" I asked
"I have no idea cause I don't know why we would have an assembly already for?" Benicio said
As we we're talking Bartleby came into class and the look on his face was disappointment. Maybe I should have told him I was gonna sit by Holden before today.
As classes went by I was at my class before lunch, Algebra. As class is in section six minutes later there was a knock on the door.
As the teacher Mrs. Newton opened the door Holden walked in. "Oh you must by that student who transferred into my class"
Holden nodded shyly "Well there's a seat right next to Thuy if you don't mind sitting there" he nodded again and went to sit next to Thuy
I was infront of Holden and Thuy. Selena, Denzel and Bartleby was at the other side of the room.
"Oh, can you introduce yourself so the class since we did it on Monday"
"Umm... my name is Holden and I wasn't expecting to be in this class" he said quietly
"That's okay Holden, things happen when you don't expect it" Mrs. Newton said
We didn't really do nothing anything in class since we weren't gonna be here tomorrow and we have the assembly so I just talked to Holden the whole class.
I turned my body to face Holden behind me.
"Hey you ready for the assembly in a few minutes?"
"Yes and no. Yes because you know, no class. No because I'll get sleepy" Holden said
The class left to go to the Auditorium Selena, Denzel, Holden and I were sitting next to each other with our class.
"Hey do you guys see any of the squad?" Selena said looking around
"I see Monique and Corey on the right in the middle" Denzel said pointing to the middle of the auditorium
I see Holden turn to look behind us "Carlos, Benicio, Marlon is walking in with my old class"
"Too bad we have to sit with our classes" Denzel said putting his foot on the edge of the seat infront of him
"I know what's the point? We all have lunch after this" Selena said
"True and when I asked my teachers what the assembly about they wouldn't tell me" Denzel said leaning back into the seats
As every student came in and sit down our principal Mrs. Rochester came from the side of the stage. "Hello everyone, I know what you guys are wondering what is this assembly is about? Well I can tell you this is not gonna take to long but I just want to tell all of you that every student in here will get free tickets to the Phillies game tomorrow."
We all got excited about this. Kids cheering and being excited about this. "I just want you kids to have one last good time before next week. That's all and I hope you enjoy the rest of you're day" She said with a big smile and walked off

It's Friday and we all we're ready to go to the game in the afternoon. We all had philly jerseys with our names on, there's Saint, Phifer, Vargas, Jr., Boseman, Alcazar-Morales, Gomez, Emerson IV, Chukwudi, and I had Watson. Holden, Marlon and Benicio had blue jeans on with white sneakers while Carlos, Denzel and Corey had black jeans and black sneakers. Monique had dark blue jeans and vans, Selena had on white jeans and rainbow flip flops and I had medium blue jeans and white thong sandals.
Corey got his dad to take us since he let us go on the back of his truck. Even know Holden and I sat in the front since both of our parents don't want us in the back of a truck with no seatbelts.
After a two hour drive from our small town we got to the stadium "So what time do you want me to pick kids up?" Corey's dad said wondering
"How about when it's starts to get dark and when you get here text me okay" Corey said to his dad
"Okay, you kids have fun" his dad said as we got out and watch him leave
"Hey Cor" His dad said to him before he left
"Yes dad?"
"Mrs. Chukwudi, told me to make sure her son stays safe with you guys because he is the youngest one out of you kids"
"I know dad, and don't worry we watch out for him"
"Okay, have a great time you crazy kids" his dad said pulling out the parking lot
We all walked in and got some snacks and headed to our seats. I guess God is watching over us cause we all got seats next to each other.
"Did Mrs. Rochester just gave us random seats or something cause wasn't it lucky that we're sitting next to each other?" Selena said walking down to our seats
"It's kinda weird but it's cool though" Marlon said putting on a hat he got from the gift shop
"Hey, isn't that that girl you sit next to in homeroom Corey?" Benicio said pointing at Thuy behind us
"Yeah it is" Corey said smiling
"Does someone has a little crush?" Monique said
"What no. I mean I just don't know her, During study hall all she did was read"
"She must have those strict parents but that's just a theory" Carlos said
"Corey stop looking at her before she notices" Marlon said
"Hey everyone needs a bit of asian persuasion in their life" Denzel said grinning
"Denzel" Selena said
"Hey everyone needs love" Denzel said back at Selena then to Carlos because he knows
"Yeah because love is the best thing in the world. I wouldn't know cause you all turned 13, well besides Holden. He got to wait til new year but I'm just saying we don't know how to love yet" Selena said
"But what if love is right next to you?" Carlos said quietly to himself
"Did you say something Carlos?" Selena said looking at him
Carlos head sprung up "No... I didn't say anything"
"Oh... okay" Selena said looking at the field
It's noon and we're two hours in the game and it's the Philly. As we just watching the game the kiss cam was on getting couples to kiss. The cam was gotten two couples and people we're cheering behind us and as we all looked it was the Phillies mascot The Phillie Phanatic came walking down.
From out of nowhere the kiss cam landed on Holden and I. Our friends we're looking at us and the Phillie Phanatic came up behind us and jester us with his fingers to kiss.
I looked at Holden and gave him a quick peck on the lips. It was just a little innocent little kiss, which was my first.
"Oh my god" Carlos said with his eyes wide
"Yeah I second that" Corey said with his eyes also wide
Marlon rose up from his seat to see Holden not moving. He moved his hand in front us his face "Um... Elizabeth, I think you broke Holden"
"Look what you did you blue eye devil" Denzel said jokingly
Selena started snapping her fingers infront of his face and he still not moving.
"Yo he is sprung!" Benicio said
Holden got back to normal "Um... can we not try to make this awkward guys" he said to them
"Holden's right. Let's get a picture with the mascot" Monique said getting her phone out
"Yo Phillie Phanatic" Marlon called out
He looked over at us and ran back at us. We all got on the stairs and we all took a picture with him. We all said thanks and he left.
"Hey it's your girl Corey" Monique said pointing at Thuy on her phone
"Really" he said looking at the picture
"Why you worry about it?" Monique said grinning
He sighs "Because I like her" Corey said in defeat
"We knew it" Selena said
Monique sent us the photo "Man, we look like the cast of a kids show" Denzel said jokingly
"The Phillie Phanatic and the Philly Kids" Benicio said jokingly
"I would've watch that" Carlos said
As it got dark we left to leave when Corey's dad arrived. The weekend came and it just felt like a regular weekend and Monday just felt normal without school.

Tuesday came and it was a regular day, we were at lunch talking about if any of the guys were thinking of playing football.
"Oh, just so you know" Monique said getting up and put her arms around both Holden and me "We're talking about 'American' football" she said jokingly
"We know what the difference" I said laughing "Even know I only watched it with my brother once but it was okay. I believe Holden has more experience watching it more than I do"
"I'm in the same boat as you Elizabeth, I only watched it once and it wasn't for me" he said getting up
"Where you going?"
"I got to drain the weasel!" he said leaving to use the bathroom
"What?" I said
"Oh, he got to take a piss" Denzel said
"We did watched Boyz N The Hood on Saturday night" Marlon said smiling
"It's a great movie" Carlos said
"I'm more of a New Jack City fan, 'sit yo five dollar ass down before I make change'" Benicio said quoting the movie
"I didn't know you watched these movies Benny the Bull?" Monique said
"Sometimes"
"Yo Ricky is low key wanting me to play football to be honest" Denzel said "But most black football players in high school date white girls. No disrespect Elizabeth" he said looking at me
"None taken I guess" I said thinking about what he said
"She doesn't know about that stereotype yet" Corey said to Denzel
"Because her and Holden are the innocent people. Especially that kiss was." Selena said
"Yeah you guys didn't really have to kiss for the kiss cam you know that right?" Carlos said
Just when I was about to say something I see Holden fly out the bathroom onto the floor "Holden!" I said getting up to him
I got to him on the floor and he rested on my knees "Holden what happen?" I said looking down at him
He didn't say anything, he was holding his stomach because he was in pain.
He coughed out a little bit of blood.
"Can one of you please give me a napkin!" I said to them
Selena gave me a napkin and I started to wipe Holden mouth with it.
Bartleby came out the bathroom.
"Bartleby do you know what happen to Holden?" I said looking at him
"Yeah, my fist happened to him" he said holding his fist
"Wait what?" I said in shocked
"Yeah, I punched him in the stomach, probably too hard but he deserves it" he said not having no soul
"Why?"
"Because I saw the kiss cam, you kissed him. And thought out all of last week you've been talking about him, and when he transferred into half of our classes I saw you get all excited"
Mrs. Rochester came into the cafeteria "What is going on here?"
"Principal Rochester these two were fighting in the bathroom" a teacher said
She looked at Bartleby then down at Holden "Wait Holden Chukwudi? This student would never get in a fight, what really happened?" she said looking at everyone
"Mrs. Rochester, Bartleby punched Holden in the stomach and threw him out the bathroom" I said to her
She took a few steps to Bartleby "Do you have any words to say young man?"
Bartleby looked at me and back at Mrs. Rochester "I regret nothing" he said back
"Elizabeth take Holden to the nurse" she said than put her hand on Bartleby's back "You are going to the office" she said taking him to the office
I took Holden to the nurse and he stayed there looking so much in pain as he layed on one of the beds.
My last two classes was a blur, I was just worried about Holden, some people might say a punch in a stomach wouldn't hurt that much but Holden is fragile.
I sat at our table in homeroom and the guys was talking about what happened at lunch.
"You know what I'm gonna do football this year cause I know that white boy's type. Be on the football team and beat people like Holden up, and if he tries anything again imma beat his ass" Denzel said in anger
"He really jealous to hurt somebody to get the girl. Some guys are brutal" Carlos said
"Well not all guys but this guy is never going to get any girl with that personality" Selena said
"Elizabeth you good?" Benicio said tapping my back
"Yeah I'm fine, I just hope Holden's okay" I said looking at them
"Holden's a fighter but not at the same time. I just know he didn't deserve what happened to him" Marlon said resting his head
"He missed both his last classes you guys think he's okay in the nurse" Monique said
"I'll see for myself" I said as I got up from my chair to go to Mr. Culkin's desk
"Excuse me Mr. Culkin" I said looking down
He raised his head to look at me "Since it's almost time to go do you think I can go to the nurse to see if Holden's alright?" I said hoping he would let me
"Sure you can go and tell him he don't have to worry about the homework for tonight. I'll let it slide for him"
"I'll tell him" I said going back to my table to get my backpack to leave
I left homeroom to go to the nurse, I walked in and let the nurse know I was gonna see Holden.
"He was resting for a while but he's just sitting there" the nurse said
I walked to the back room to sit next to him "Hi"
Holden looked up with a small smile "Hi" he said quietly
I sat down right next to him"How are you feeling?" I said rubbing his back
"My stomach just stopped hurting" he said looking at the floor
"Holden can you tell me what happened?"
"After I used the bathroom I was washing my hands then that guy came in and he got mad because I'm friends with you and he saw you kiss me at the Phillies game" he said still looking at the floor
Wow, when I first met Bartleby he was nice, I guess his true colors showed.
"Mr. Culkin said you don't have to worry about the homework for today"
"That's great" he said
"Is your mom picking you up?"
"She can't. We don't have enough money for another car since my dad started working for the whole day and not the mornings anymore" he said
"How about you can ride with my siblings and me" I said smiling at him
For the first time since lunch he looked at me "That's fine"
As we left the nurse to go to his locker we left the school to wait for Kimberly and Simon in the parking lot. Since that day I couldn't look or think of Bartleby the same after what he did to Holden.
*Flashback Ends*
"WHAT THE FUCK!" Holden said yelling downstairs
After hearing Holden screamed I put my sandals back on because if anything is happening outside I'm not walking barefoot.
"Holden! What's going on?" I said coming down the stairs
I ran downstairs to go to the front door to see someone I never thought I see someone I never expect to see again.
"Bartleby!"
"Yeah Bartleby? Ain't you supposed to be in jail?" Holden said to him
"I got out on good behavior"
"How you even know where we live?" I said getting under Holden's arm and hugging him on the side
"May I come in?" Bartleby said with his hands in his jacket pockets
"Nah man you can't" Holden said holding me tightly
"Okay fine. After seven years in prison, I've been thinking of what I did to the both of you and other people since I started school with you two with the bulling and the sexual harassment. I know the both of you are good people so do you think from the bottom of your hearts you can forgive me for all the stuff I did" Bartleby said with a real sad look
Holden and I looked at each other.
"I guess I could forgive you" I said
"I did kicked your ass for all of this so I guess I could too" Holden said
"Really? Thank you both" he said with a smile
"Now Elizabeth come with me I'm taking you home" he said with a change of expression
"What the hell" Holden said holding me tightly
"Wait is this why you came here, so you can get me again! Bartleby I'm happily married and have a son. I'm not leaving them both because some guy wants me to be with them" I said to Bartleby in disgust
"So he can be my step son" Bartleby said trying to be cool with it
"Oh hell nah" Holden said going running upstairs
"Did you really think I would just leave with you?" I said angerly
"Well yeah! I had a feeling you were waiting for me"
"Are you stupid or something. Like do you have something that makes you think you can get anything you want"
"No I jus-" Bartleby said mid sentence
Holden came around the corner with a gun
"Aye get the fuck off my property right now or I'll shoot. I'm not afraid" Holden said holding to his face
Bartleby ran off the porch and stood in the driveway "Fine but I'll be back for my wife and I knew you were a gang banger"
"And when I see you here again there will be a bullet in your ass, bitch ass motherfucka" Holden said shutting the door
Holden turned to me "After seven years he still acts like this, I mean jail didn't change him and he didn't answer your question on how he knew where we live?"
"He really had us going trying to be new but he still wants to get under my knickers" I said crossing my arms
Holden chuckled a bit.
"What?"
"Knickers? That's so British of you" He said laughing
I started to giggle myself.
"Say something else in british"
"How about we do that upstairs" I said using my accent
We both got upstairs to go back to the bedroom and Holden went to the closet to put the gun in his hiding place.
"I still don't like how you still have a gun" I said giving him my innocent eye look
"I'm not gonna lie, sometimes I feel like the stereotypical black husband of the white girl who got a gun, but I got my license, it's registered and I know how to use it"
"I know but you know I don't like guns"
"I know baby, how about tomorrow I put it in a place away from the bedrooms"

"It's my house now" Bartleby said getting something from the back of his pocket
Bartleby got a gun and shoots Holden in the stomach.

Holden is on the ground covered in blood with his eyes closed. I got down to my knees and picked his head up.

I woke up in fear from the most horrid dream I ever had in my entire life. I look to see Holden sleeping peacefully next to me. I got up and put on a night shirt and pajama pants on since we both didn't put on close after having sex. I put my bunny slippers on and went down to the kitchen. I went down stairs into the kitchen, got a cup from the cabinet and pour some water to cool down from my nightmare. I got to the counter to sit on a stool processing the dream.
How can I have a dream like that? I never had a nightmare like that before. I can't believe I dreamed about Holden dying because of Bartleby.
"Hey baby" Holden said as he got in the kitchen
"Hi honey" I said looking down at the counter
He got a cup from the cabinet and got himself of cup of water as well.
He sat down next to me "So, why you up at 2:47 in the morning?" He said to me
"I had a nightmare" I said looking up at him
"Was it about you know who?" He said as he put his hand on my back
I nodded "Yes. Holden it was scary" I said to him
"It's okay baby, your safe now. What happened in your dream?"
"About what happened tonight but he didn't leave... he got a gun from the back of him and shot you in the stomach" I said to him with tears coming down a little bit
"I was there trying to save you but you were already dead then he was dragging me into a van and took me away" I said crying
Holden pulled me to him so he can hug me "It's okay baby, this will never happen in real life"
"How can you be sure? He's out of prison and he somehow knows where we live. What if he's were in public with Khalil and he tries to do something?" I said
"Elizabeth, I made a promise to you ever since I basically met you that I will protect you and we both made a promise to protect Khalil and if we keep that promise nothings going to happen to any of us" Holden said as he held my face
I nodded as he wipped my tears with his thumbs.
"Now let's go to bed" he said as he's getting up
"Okay" I said getting up as well
We both left to kitchen and went to the bedroom. We both got in bed and as we layed down he put me on top of his body.
"Do you think you gonna sleep good now?" He said as I looked into his beautiful brown eyes
"I hope so" I said laying my head down to his chest
"Goodnight baby" Holden said as he kissed to the top of my head
"Goodnight. I love you" I said closing my eyes
"I love you too" he said
