𝐉𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐨
I’m sipping a carton of banana milk when I saw Jendeuk made her way to the kitchen where I am currently in. She's on the phone.
“What?” she said, brows furrowing. “Wha—in Paris?” she said in a tone that’s slightly raising before sighing heavily.
‘What in the heck are they talkin' about to make this mandu so grumpy?’
Her shoulders then fell, “I see,” she nodded, “When's my flight?”
‘Flight? But she just got back from LA yesterday!’
“Oppa, I can’t believe you’re telling me about this just now..” she said before she ran her fingers through her hair.
She rolled her eyes heavenwards, listening to the other line as she pokes the inside of her left cheek with her tongue, a total act of annoyance.
“Arasseo, arasseo.” she nodded twice, sounding disappointed before ending the call. Sighing, she stood before the fridge, opening it before taking out a pitcher of cold water, “As if I have a fucking choice,” she muttered to herself as she spun, only to see me staring at her.
She still has her brows creased as she gave me a single nod. An apparent confirmation that she totally lost her mood.
“You heard it?” she asked.
I took a sip from my drink before I nodded, “Chanel?”
“Hm.”
“When?”
She sighed before she bit her lip, “Tonight.”
“How long?”
“Three days.” That’s when her sad face appeared.
‘Wow, not even an entire day of rest, huh.’ I couldn’t help the sarcasm coating my thoughts, ‘Goodjob, manager-nim..’
I'm pretty certain she had a good night sleep since she cuddled with Chaeyoung the entire time and I was up as early as six to know that the blonde gave her breakfast in bed. I even heard her in her room laughing her ass out to prolly some jests Chaeyoung threw her way.
So I’m sure this phone call is the only thing that drained all the bliss and gaiety Chaeyoung placed in her being, all night and this morning.
I shook my head, ‘That’s a pity.’
“Want me to help you pack?”
She shook her head, “I'll do it later, Unnie. I don’t wanna trouble you,” she said before sending me a weak smile.
I nodded in response, sipping on my drink yet again as I watch her pour herself a glass of water before finishing it in three gulps. She then let herself out the kitchen before she made her way to the living room, shoulders slumped. ‘Poor Jendeukie..’
The maknaes and I decided to have a marathon of Harry Potter since we all don't have any schedule for today. We invited Jendeuk but she declined, and we perfectly understood that she still needed to rest some more.
I followed her in the living room after finishing my drink, only to see her peeling Lisa's surrounding arms off of Chaeyoung. And mind you, Jendeuk’s struggling because Lisa’s not backing down, whilst Chaeyoung’s arms and hands are just idle, down her sides.
‘What in the world is this bear doing?’
“Yah! Unnie!” Lisa protested, clinging more to Chaeyoung with a pout, “It’s my turn now, you already cuddled with her all night!”
Jendeuk didn’t give her any response, instead, she continued to try to disentangle Lisa from Chaeyoung, still biting her bottom lip with those pretty knitted brows. But with that force, I don't think she’s going to succeed against the taller.
Goodness, now she’s ballooning her cheeks. ‘So cute!’ I shook my head at the thought,‘Tsk tsk tsk! Goodluck, Chaeyoungie..’
Chaeyoung just pursed her lips to suppress her laugh as she watches the two vying to be cuddled by her.
I just stood there behind the couch where I have a clear view of the three of them and watched, I don’t think they noticed my presence but I just let it be.
I saw as Chaeyoung eyed Jennie with amusement yet with a hint of worry. I'm certain that she already noticed that something was off with our brunette friend. And I’m pretty positive what she’ll do next, this has happened so many times now.
“Lisa-yah,” Chaeyoung said as she gave Lisa 'that' nod, which increased the moue on Lisa’s lips before the thai let her go sulkily, standing up with slumped shoulders before situating herself on the opposite side, the far end of the long couch, prolly three meters away from the two.
Jendeukie didn’t waste any time and hastily sat on Chaeyoung’s lap, sideways, both legs on the blonde’s right side. Wrapping her arms around the blonde’s neck, she burried her face on the side of her neck. Chaeyoung surrounded her left arm around her shoulder while her right hand was on Jendeuk's waist, pulling her closer for a tighter embrace, thumbs carressing Jendeukie’s arm in comforting circles and the small exposed skin on her waist.
Lisa’s pout was unfaltering as she glared at them, feet up on the living room table with her arms crossed against her chest.
“You wanna tell me something, hm?” I heard Chaeyoung cooed, depositing a kiss on top of the brunette’s head.
Jendeuk only hummed against her neck, eyes now closed.
“What is it?”‘God, Chaeng’s low husky register could make every girl wet, I swear..’
I couldn’t help but smirk when Jendeukie, instead of answering, pressed her legs together before clearing her throat as she squeezed her eyes shut. She then nuzzled at the blonde’s neck closer, inhaling her scent in the process, 'You horny mandu..'
My grin grew even larger when Chaeyoung blushed before she bit her lip, “U-Unnie..” she stuttered.
“Wifey.” Jendeuk corrected, rather demandingly whilst eyes were still closed.
Looking amused, a small smile grazed the blonde’s lips before she let out an angelic-sounding chuckle, “Y-Yeah, okay. Wifey.” She then nodded, “What is it that you wanna tell me?”
I wanted to laugh, so bad. Instead, I just shook my head in disbelief, ‘Damn, these gays.. with that effect they have on each other, I can’t believe neither of them had the courage to confess! Like.. I don’t get it! It’s obviously mutual! I can’t believe I’ve tolerated this for years! I didn’t raise Jendeukie like this! God!’
I grinned as my gaze landed on Lisa. She’s still there, sitting, looking at them with her big eyes, furrowed brows, and a big moue on her plump lips.
I shook my head before I decided to situate myself beside our sulking maknae. She immediately wrapped her long arms around me.
“Stop glaring.” I barely chided, earning a pout from her as she looked at me.
“But Unnie, look at Jennie-unnie! She’s acting like a baby again! She’s stealing my time with Chong-ah! Tsk!” she hollered before shaking me whilst still looking at the two, “Unnie~”
“Tone down your voice.” I remarked, using my unnie card.
“Fine! Though I know for sure they can’t hear me. I mean just look at them! Look! They’re now in they’re own fucking bubble.” She rolled her eyes at them before looking back at me with her puppy dog eyes, ‘what the heck?’, “Please unnie, I wanna cuddle with her too~” she whispered wailfully, “Do something~”
“You’re already cuddling with me, don’t be too greedy.”
“But Unnie, we already cuddled yester—”
“Are you saying you’re getting sick of me?” I raised a challenging brow at her and her eyes panicked instantly.
She shook her head hastily, “N-No I.. Unnie t-that’s not true, that’s not what I meant—”
“I’m Kim Jisoo, whatelse are you looking for, huh, Mano-foot?”
I felt her tightening the hug, “Nothing unnie, it’s just that we always cuddle and I.. I know you know that that’s not what I meant,” she shook her head before lowering her gaze, she then bit her lip, “I just miss my bestfriend, you know. Our individual schedule had been so tight and we barely saw each other 'til the last two days since we moved here, yet those days, we still dealt with our individual scheds. I mean, the three of us will be free 'til the weekend but Chae only has two days off before she's off to New York again for YSL and I just.. I wanna spend time with her 'cause we barely hang-out anymore,” she explained before looking back at the two. She then sighed sulkily, “Jennie unnie was already with her all night—”
“Just let her be.” I said, almost a whisper, eyes now on Daniel Radcliffe on our big ass plasma television, ‘Our CEO’s being too nice, huh. This new place is hella nice too, I must say. I wish he'll be generous enough to let us release more songs and albums, too. Tsk!’
“But Unnie! That’s not right! You don't understand! I already told you, I miss her! Did you not hear me? Plus, Chaeyoung-ah promised me yesterday she’s mine to cuddle today!” she stomped her feet simultaneously.
“I know, I was there I heard it.” I replied, eyes not leaving the screen, ‘I understand Lisa-yah, but Jendeuk’s gonna miss her more, we have to give this to her..’ I sighed, 'Mianhe.’
“Then why are you still being so cool about this?” she said as she shook my body yet again, moue unfaltering.
I shrugged, “I'm always cool.”
On my peripheral, I saw as her pout increased even more, “Tsk, why’s she being like 'that' again anyway?” she muttered to herself cluelessly, certainly pertaining to Jendeuk. Then, I felt her pressing her left cheek on my clothed shoulder, rubbing it there, “C’mon Unnie, help me~”
I sighed, “Lisa-yah, you know Jendeuk. I can tell her to get off of Chaeyoung right now but you know how stubborn she is when she’s being like ‘that’, she won’t listen to me.”
“But—”
“Jendeuk’s off to Paris tonight.” I interjected, making her halt on her words.
Her eyes widened in realization, “Wae?”
“She’s got another campaign for chanel.”
“B-But she just got back from states yesterday night! She barely had enough sleep!” Despite her eagerness to spend time with Chaeng, worry now was audible in her voice.
“I heard her talking to her manager at the kitchen. I'm guessing she was only informed earlier. She'll be there for three days.”
“T-Three days?”
I was so annoyed I could only nod in response.
She shook her head in disappointment, and I watched as she turned to look at their way and I was amused to see envy dissipating from her eyes, now replaced by a look of full concern. I grinned, ‘I guess we’re really not just friends afterall, we’re family. We may bicker, fight and have misunderstandings sometimes but we care about each other, that’s for sure.’
Her shoulders fell as she looks at Jendeuk’s small form in pure worry, “How cruel,” she muttered before letting out an exasperated sigh.
“That’s why I’m telling you to just let her be,” I said and felt Lisa nodded against my shoulder as she let out a hum.
“I hope she doesn’t get sick.”
I hummed, “Yeah.”
Lisa hissed, “If she’s gon' be in Paris for three days, she won't be able to see Chae 'til the weekend next week 'cause she'll be in New York.”
“She’s aware of Chaeng's shoot that's why she's looking forward to this three days off to spend most of her time with her, and us too of course, but what can I say..” I shrugged, “I guess shit really happens.”
Lisa sighed, “And that’s why she’s being like 'that'.”
“Exactly.”
“Sorry, Unnie. I didn't know.”
“That’s okay.”
We both watched as our now short-haired blonde friend gently cradles Jendeuk like a baby. Movie and surroundings totally forgotten, Chaeyoung’s eyes held fondness, affection and too much gentleness in them as she looks at her. Her right hand softly tapping her thigh as if lulling her to sleep whilst pressing soft kisses on top of her head. ‘God, if this isn’t love, I don’t know what is.’
Apparently, Jendeukie is still sleepy, one look and you can easily tell she’s still tired, I mean who wouldn’t? Her sched the last four weeks had been fully loaded, like ours but hers was out of the country, I mean different states and countries. Just seeing her sched felt tiring for me. Her flights seemed like they were made to get Jendeukie restless. And I’m certain it’ll took a huge toll on her body, I’m so worried ‘cause everyone knows she easily gets sick.
Though Jendeuk’s eyes are still closed, I’m certain they’re talking, or rather whispering, I couldn’t hear them anymore ‘cause they were like, two or three meters away from us, add the fact that the TV volume was up. But their moving lips tells me they’re indeed having a conversation, or exhange of few words, I don’t really know how to call it, ‘cause it’s like they’re just mumbling few words, whispering sweet nothings, I don’t really know honestly, however, they seemed to understand each other.
‘I wonder if Chaeyoung already knew Jendeuk’s leaving for Paris tonight.’
I saw how Jendeuk blushed in a deep shade of red at something Chaeyoung might’ve said. She then burried her face on the side of Chaeyoung’s neck, making the blonde chuckle softly. I couldn’t help but smile when Chaeyoung deposited a gentle kiss of caress on Jendeuk’s clothed left shoulder. ‘If that shoulder kiss managed to melt my heart just at the sight of it, I wonder how my softball of a bestfriend have felt about it,’ I smirked, ‘Is your poor weak heart about to explode now, Jendeukie? Kekekeke..’
I saw as Lisa held up the remote to turn down the volume, none of the two were able to notice. I looked at her questioningly but she just signalled me to keep quiet, so I did and just watched. She then fished her phone out of her pocket, click the camera button on her screen before setting it to video recording. Tapping the red button next, she set her phone down to take a video of the two surreptitiously.
“No,” I heard Chaeyoung said before she laughed, “You’re still the prettiest for me.”
“Liar,” Jennie pouted, heavy blush now overtaking her dumpling cheeks, though her eyes are still kept close.
Chaeyoung raised her right hand to caress Jendeuk’s cheek with her thumb, “Do you really know how pretty you are?” a smile growing on her lips, “..especially this close—”
“Tsk,” Jendeukie whined before catching Chaeyoung’s hand to bring it back to where it was before, which was her leg, ‘twas the same hand that’s gently tapping her there earlier. “Stop it and lemme sleep some more, hubby.”
I smirked. And even if I don’t look at Lisa, I know she’s grinning too. I bet even Chaeyoung knew it was a very lame excuse of escape for Jennie. Because she is a blushing mess right now. That’s how she is whenever she doesn’t know how to respond to things, especially compliments. She just acts annoyed or rather appear nonchalant.
‘Tsk tsk tsk, Jendeukie.. you got it real bad, man..’
“Okay,” Chaeyoung responded, suppressing her laugh.
“Stop making fun of meeee~”
Chaeyoung pursed her lips to prevent herself from laughing but she failed, “I’m not,”
Jendeuk bit her collarbone playfully when soft chuckles escaped the blonde’s lips, “Put me to sleep,” she said, voice a bit hoarse.
“Alright,” Chaeyoung said before depositing a lingering kiss on her forehead, earning another wave of blush on Jendeuk’s cheeks, my brunette friend squeezed her eyes shut as she savored the gesture.
When Chaeyoung pulled away from the kiss, she went back to cradling her, rocking side to side and giving her soft taps on her leg as she lulls her to sleep.
I saw how the sides of Jendeukie’s lips curled up in to a smile before she briefly opened her tired eyes to look at Chaeyoung, lovingly. As in ‘that’ super-ultra-mega loving look. It just lasted a couple of seconds before she let it shut yet again, she didn’t even let her see it.
‘With those sharp and intimidating cat eyes, I never thought that ‘that’ look is possible for her.’ I smirked, ‘Amazing.’
Lisa stopped the video recording with a triumphant smile plastered on her face as she skimmed the video.
“God, they’re so sweet~” Lisa cooed, her doe eyes shining, bottom lip jutting as she looks at her phone screen in adoration.
I couldn’t disagree.
“Blinks will go ballistic if I post this,” Lisa grinned evilly before pocketing her phone back in her shorts again. She then wrapped her arms around me yet again, “Our ships with Jennie-unnie and with Chae would totally sink once they knew about this, I mean, this two are the real deal.”
“Hm,” I nodded, “And your fans are going to go crazy if YG fires you because of 'that video'. Those two for sure will suffer 'cause of 'that' video, and we’ll be forced to disband and fans are going to blame them. And I’ll prolly resign and just live a normal life—”
“With Hae-in oppa?” Lisa teased, smirking.
I couldn’t help the heat invading my cheeks, ‘Fucking monkey!’ “Shut up!” I tried raising my hand to hit her but she held me captive with her tightening hug. ‘This kid sure looks thin but she’s really strong, dammit!’
She then motioned to look back at the two and when I did, Chaeyoung was already up on her feet, carrying Jennie who now was fast asleep on her arms. Bridal style.
‘Reminds me of when Hae-in oppa did that to m—’ I shook my head at the thought, ‘Damn, this monkey is such a bad influence.’
“Unnie, I’m just gon’ take her to her room and—”
“Cuddle her as she sleeps?” Lisa interjected, rather too enthusiastic, sounding almost teasing, earning an instant blush from Chaeyoung.
“A-Ani. I— No. I’m just gon' put her to b-bed then I'll be back to j-join you guys—”
“Now thinkin' about it, you haven’t rested well enough after that last flight you had, so you can go sleep there beside her, and I promise we won't mind you not joining us with the marathon.” I’m so glad Lisa cut her off 'cause damn, I can't believe Blackpink’s Aussie speaker is stuttering this badly.
“B-But—” 'See?'
“Don’t you wanna spend some more time with her?” I asked, deciding to help Lisa on her obvious plan.
With that, she looked down at Jendeukie longingly, her eyes looking so gentle, as if one hard look and Jendeuk's gon' break, “I-I do.” she replied, tumbling on her words yet again.
'I wonder how bad she'll do if Jendeuk's wide awake, staring back at her,' I smirked, 'I swear this kid is fucking whipped.'
“I know you missed her Chae.. and I'm sure you'll miss her more,” I saw Lisa gave her a smile, one that's full of understanding, “She's off to Paris tonight, did she tell you?”
She gave us a droopy nod before scanning Jendeuk's sleeping face, then she dropped a soft kiss on the brunette's forehead.
“Aw, look at that unnie.. that's so sweet..” Lisa cooed, almost whispering as she tightened her hug around me.
'Goddamn, she's indeed sweet..' I just hope Jendeuk's awake to hear.. and see.. and feel all this. Can't help but chuckle mentally, 'I can imagine how she'll cover her heavy blushing dumpling cheeks in full panic, kekeke..'
Lisa smirked audibly, “You're free to do funny business too if you want—”
“Y-Yah! I-I'm not like that.” Chaeyoung bit her lip but unable to hide her reddening face 'cause both her hands are at work.
'I swear it's so easy to make this girl blush..'
Lisa cackled rather loudly and I find it hard to contain mine as well, then I heard her spoke, “I know that Chae, I'm just messing with you.”
Chaeyoung pouted before letting out a relieved sigh.
“Go bring her to her room now before she wakes up. Watch her, cuddle her, you can sleep too if you want, or just simply stay there with her. I don't care, just.. rest, Chaeyoung-ah. We know you need it as much as she does." I smiled, pertaining to Jendeuk.
Smiling contentedly as her eyes still lingers on our brunette friend’s sleeping face, she let out a sigh before she smiled, “I will, Unnie. After I pack her things.”
'Right, of course. Packing her things for her flight is a 'very girlfriend' task to do. Now it makes sense why Jendeukie declined my offer earlier,' I nodded to myself, 'I mean why would she even ask her bestfriend to pack her things with her, if her girlfriend—I mean her 'unlabeled special someone' is willing to do all the packing just so she could rest before her flight? Well, that totally makes perfect sense. Very smart, Jendeuk. Very smart.'
I then saw Chaeyoung started to walk her way to Jendeuk's room. She's only gotten a few steps away from us when Lisa suddenly spoke.
“Yah, Chong-ah. Don't just stare at unnie's face, look where you're going, you might fall even harder – I mean you two might fall, like stumble, you know." Lisa smirked at her.
Chaeyoung halted before turning to look at us, “I swear to God Lisa, if Jen hears you—”
“You’re so whipped, man!” Lisa giggled, and then she suddenly stopped, “What? She still doesn’t know? You still haven’t told her?” Lisa asked, giving her a challenging look.
I just sat there, monkey arms still surrounding me as I watch and listen to them.
“Didn't I tell you to tell her already? It’s been years brah, what're you so scared about?” Lisa added.
Chaeyoung swallowed hard as she looked at Jendeuk yet again.
And there's that look I always see in Jendeuk's eyes whenever I talk to her about telling Chaeyoung what she truly feels.
“Chaeyoung-ah.” I heard Lisa exhaled rather exhaustedly, she's now sporting a serious look as she stares at Chaeyoung's vulnerable state, “You better tell her soon. What if she met a gorgeous looking parisian and never comes back?”
Chaeyoung worriedly shook her head in denial, “We still have a contract here. That'll never happen.”
“She’s been going out of Korea, jumping from country to country. She’s got a house in LA and she’s been staying there more often 'cause of work. Do you really think that a contract could stop a Jennie Kim from getting in a relationship?” Lisa raised a brow at her with a smirk, emphasizing her point.
Chaeyoung’s brows met furiously, a growing moue formed her lips as she looks down at Jendeukie before she released a heavy defeated sigh. She then clenched her jaw.
And with that troubled look in her eyes, I can tell how scared she was.
That same look in Jendeuk's feline eyes.
Scared of rejection. Scared of knowing that it might be unrequited. Scared that Jennie might not be into girls. Scared of the possible heartbreak.
Scared of losing it all. The friendship, the connection, the family, the person and their career.
“Don’t mind her, Chaengie. Just go take Jendeukie to bed,” I assured her with a smile, nodding my head.
She nodded in response, still biting her slightly quivering lips, “Will do, unnie.”
I saw a small pout elicit her lips as she proceeded to Jendeukie’s room.
I slapped Lisa's leg rather hardly earning a loud yelp from her.
She pouted as she ran her palm back and forth her legs to ease the pain, “Unnie, what’s that for?”
“Didn’t you see? You scared her!”
She made a face, “Didn’t you see? It’s just an extra push Unnie! Chaeng needs it 'cause it’s about time she acts on her feelings! We all know Jennie-Unnie's too careful to do it, so if it’s not her it’s Chong-ah and no one else! I know it’s entertaining to watch them being so sweet with each other whilst hiding their feelings, but aren’t you tired of them getting jealous of you, of me, of other people.. watching their indirect possesiveness of each other, their subtle glances and not so subtle off cam touches without any label? If you’re not tired at all, then I am.” She sighed, “Look Unnie, I may be too pushy about this but I just want them to be happy, they’re both important to me, they're family. Just look at how well they take care of each other, Unnie. You know that I'm always away from home.. but whenever I look at their eyes when they’re in each others arms.. I can see home. I look at you, all so happy whenever you’re talking to Hae-in oppa, and I can see home. I look at all of us together and I can feel home,” She shook her head before hugging me tighter with a serious smile now plastered on her doll face, then she looked away to face the screen, “I wanted them to end up together, so I can see that they’re home, happy and safe when they’re together wherever they may be.”
I smiled internally. I felt my heart warmed at her words but decided to make the atmosphere lighter, “Wow Mano-foot, you’re really aging, huh.”
She just chuckled, “Shut up, Unnie.”
She then grabbed the remote and resumed the movie.
“Pause it.” I ordered earning a confused look from her.
“Wae?” She asked but obliged.
“If you want them to end up together, we need a plan.” I smirked.
We then narrowed our eyes as we playfully exhanged a knowing look at each other.
“Let’s do this.” I heard her say before we busied ourselves making a few phonecalls.
Soon as we finished, we grinned as we high-fived each other before resuming the movie, cuddling with unfaltering smirks on our faces.
