Jisoo's mom was Jennie's father's older sister. She had given up her hefty inheritance just so she could marry Jisoo's dad. He wasn't necessarily poor. He had an above average income but the rich Kim family didn't approve of their marriage so they cut her off and gave everything to Jennie's father instead. Despite being cut off, Jisoo's mom still managed to be very successful. Even though she gave up everything she ended up starting a non profit that blew up quickly and she ended up in the same circle as her brother eventually anyway.

Naturally, because of her success with nonprofits, Jennie's father had to invite his sister and her family to his charity event that night.

Jisoo was taking Chaeyoung as her date. Jisoo really thought she was going to be the only one that was going to piss off her uncle for taking a girl as a date but apparently Jennie had actually been serious about dating Lisa and they were going together too.

Jisoo was still skeptical. She still really thought it was all some big joke until she saw Lisa walking in to the ballroom, Jennie's arm hooked around her own.

"They're actually for real?" Jisoo asked Chaeyoung incredulously.

"They look really good together." Chaeyoung said smiling. She could tell Lisa looked incredibly nervous, even from a distance.

Jennie looked just as nervous but Chaeyoung had a feeling it was more due to the fact she was with Lisa rather than from all the attention they had attracted from everyone as they walked in.

"Come on, lets go rescue our friends." Chaeyoung said, grabbing Jisoo's hand.

Jisoo nodded. She hadn't missed the way her uncle had glared at Jennie as soon as she walked in with Lisa. She may be confused about Jennie and Lisa's relationship at the moment, but she definitely wasn't confused about how miserable her uncle made Jennie feel. She wasn't about to let him terrorize her cousin already. Not when they had literally just gotten there.

Jisoo eyed Lisa up and down when they got to them. "I don't think I've ever seen you in anything other than sweats. You clean up nice Limario."

Lisa was entirely too nervous to even make a come back to that. She simply nodded.

"You look good too." Lisa mumbled, looking around nervously. There were too many eyes on them and Lisa was surrounded by rich people that were probably judging her right now.

Jisoo was even more perplexed because she'd never seen Lisa so flustered before.

"Chill Limario. It's only a bunch of old people who think they're important. No need to impress anybody."

"Are you calling me old Kim Jisoo?"

Jisoo flinched, recognizing her mother's voice.

"No?"

Jisoo's mom rolled her eyes at her.

"Rosie, has she been behaving?"

Chaeyoung smiled warmly before hugging Jisoo's mom.

"Does she ever behave?" Chaeyoung said teasingly.

"Only around you apparently" Jisoo's mom quipped.

Jisoo rolled her eyes at them, she swore her mom liked her girlfriend more than her. She didn't really care though, she'd rather her mom like her girlfriend over her than her not liking Chaeyoung at all. That was pretty impossible though, everyone loved Chaeyoung.

"Jennie dear, I haven't seen you in so long, you've grown so much."

"Hi auntie!" Jennie said excitedly, hugging her favorite aunt enthusiastically. "Stop lying, I haven't gotten any taller since I was seventeen." Jennie said with a smile on her face.

"Whose this?"

Lisa felt the nerves again as her fake girlfriend's aunt set her eyes on her.

"This is my girlfriend, Lisa." Jennie answered a little nervously herself. Wondering if her aunt would buy it. Something about calling Lisa her girlfriend was making her stomach tumble too.

"You're beautiful Lisa. I wouldn't expect any less from my favorite niece's girlfriend though."

Jennie blushed, about to answer when Jennie's father interrupted them.

"Noona."

Jennie stiffened even more, grabbing onto Lisa's arm harder. Lisa noticed Jennie's nervousness and tried to swallow her own nerves down, squeezing back as reassuringly as she could.

Jisoo's mom turned to her little brother. She could tell he was about to say something unpleasant to Jennie so she decided to intervene.

"You haven't said hello to your brother in law, you really haven't learned any manners yet have you?"

She looped her arm around his arm, dragging him away, not giving him a chance to talk to the girls. Jennie released a breath she didn't realize she was holding.

"I love your mom." Jennie said seriously to Jisoo.

"That's only because you've never lived with her." Jisoo answered back.

"Would you rather live with my parents because I'd trade your mom for either of them any day?" Jennie countered.

"Fair point." Jisoo admitted. "Come on, we snagged a table at the back."

Jisoo held her arm out for Chaeyoung to take, leading her to the table.

Jennie was surprised when Lisa let her go, only to hold her hand out so she could help Jennie down the stairs. Jennie was wearing heels as usual, she was a pro by now but somehow Lisa's gesture made her feel a little warm inside.

They held hands all the way to the table and Lisa pulled a chair out for Jennie to sit in and Jennie felt even warmer.

Jennie was glad they were all there this time. Usually Jennie had to attend these things alone. Jisoo's mother was as involved if not more than her father was in charity events but she never forced Jisoo to go like Jennie's father did with Jennie so usually Jennie was left having to suffer through these events with Kai and all the other snobby rich kids.

Jennie was actually having fun at the party for once. Chaeyoung kept asking Lisa to steal hors d'oeurves for her from the servers and Lisa kept obliging, giggling as she would grab a few and sneak back to the table like she was actually stealing things. Jennie found the sight just a little bit adorable.

"You know dinner is still coming right?" Jennie said as Chaeyoung perked up and saw another server with a different appetizer and Lisa didn't wait for her to ask this time, getting up to get a few for them.

"We still get dinner?" Chaeyoung asked excitedly, Jisoo couldn't help but peck her girlfriend on the lips because of her adorableness.

Lisa pretended to make a gagging sound as she watched them, coming back with the hors d'oeurves and taking a sip of her water. Jisoo decided to retaliate.

"I don't want to hear it when I catch you and Jendeukie making out."

Lisa choked on her water and Jennie had to tap her on back to get her to stop and breathe.

Jisoo snickered at them.

"Don't tell me you haven't kissed yet?" Jisoo teased. She was finally coming around to accepting the fact that they might actually be dating. Jisoo had observed them enough that day and she realized that they seemed a lot more intimate with each other than normal.

Jennie and Lisa both turned red after that comment. Luckily, they were saved from more teasing by the host of the charity ball, who had gone up on stage to make an announcement.

"We've decided to do something different this year. On top of our regular auction, we'd like to auction off time. I'd like to take volunteers now. Does anybody want to volunteer a couple of hours of their time? President Kim?"

Jennie's dad pretended to act humble, shouting that no one would want to spend money just to get time with him. Eventually he went up on stage as the announcer urged him and enough people clapped for him to go up.

The bidding started quickly and he was sold off for five hundred dollars and Jennie figured it was probably bought by some parents of a high school student that hadn't made it into SNU and were trying to convince him to let the kid in because who would want to spend time with her father anyway.

Jennie smirked when Jisoo's mom went a few turns later and ended up earning more money than her father. She could see her father bristle from here.

The auction went off in a blur. Jennie assumed it was pretty much finished because all of the important people had been auctioned off already but the host spoke into the mic again after the last of the deans was auctioned off.

"Okay, how about our SNU students? I know there's several of you here. Any volunteers?"

Jennie curled her lips when she saw Kai raise his hand from across the room. He walked up to the stage smugly and the bidding war started. Jennie was annoyed at the fact his bid went almost as high as her aunt's. She rolled her eyes at the cougar that had finally won him. Jennie knew he wouldn't have gotten as high if it wasn't for her.

"Anyone else?" The announcer asked.

Kai stood up again, buttoning his suit jacket and smirking towards their table.

"I think my friend Lisa would like to volunteer." Kai told the host.

Jennie and Lisa both stiffened as everyone looked towards their table. Lisa tried to shake her head, a little embarrassed but everyone was urging her on already. She looked desperately towards Jennie, asking for help.

"Just go up there Lis. He thinks he can beat you and we both know he won't." Jennie said reassuringly.

Lisa walked up to the stage shakily. If she was nervous before it was beyond measurement now. Lisa didn't even know these people. She wasn't rich like them and she had nothing to offer in the realm of power. She was just a student, and an awful one at that sometimes. Why would anyone even bid on her, she was sure she was about to be humiliated. She was so sure no one would speak up and put a single bid on her.

"Okay, bidding starts at 50 dollars." The host spoke into the mic.

"100!" Someone shouted.

The announcer smiled. "Oh this will be good. We're already skipping amounts."

"150!" Someone else shouted.

"Okay 150." The host pointed at the person holding the paddle.

"200!"

"Can I get three?"

"400!"

Jennie and Kai's smile dropped simultaneously after that.

Kai thought he was going to humiliate Lisa, assuming no one would even want to bid on her but the bidding war was already escalating a little too quickly and he didn't know why. Lisa was poor, no one even knew her. Yet she was about to overtake him.

Jennie didn't know why she was even bothered by it all. She had wanted Lisa to beat Kai after all but the fact so many people were bidding on Lisa was annoying her for some reason. It's almost like everybody in the room suddenly wanted time with her.

"Six hundred!"

"Seven!"

"One thousand."

"Fifteen hundred."

Jennie really, really didn't like it now.

"Two grand."

"Three."

"Four grand."

"Seven!"

"Can I get eight grand?" The host asked the crowd.

Jennie was really pissed now. What did these people even want with a college student? She thought to herself as she watched all the random people bidding and fighting over Lisa. She couldn't help but react, she marched up to her aunt and stole her paddle, unable to hold back anymore.

"Ten grand." Jennie shouted, holding the stolen paddle up.

No one argued with her after that. Jennie dropped the paddle angrily and marched off.

"Sold, to the young lady in the back." The announcer finally said amused when he gave it more time and no one else put in a bid. "Congratulations Lisa, you've had the highest bid of the night."

Lisa just nodded in a daze, bowing to the crowd.

"Who was that?" The host asked Lisa once the cheers settled down, no longer speaking into the mic. "It seemed like she knew you."

"My girlfriend." Lisa managed out, still reeling from the whole thing.

"Loyal girlfriend. Don't lose her." The announcer said smirking again.

______

Lisa found Jennie in the bathroom a minute later after being teased relentlessly over her auction by Chaeyoung and Jisoo on her way back from the stage.

"Please tell me you didn't actually pay ten grand for two hours with me?" Lisa asked Jennie incredulously as soon as she saw her.

"I didn't pay ten grand for two hours with you." Jennie deadpanned, shoving past Lisa.

"Jennie!"

"What Lisa?!" Jennie said sharply, rounding on her angrily.

"I forgot what I was about to say." Lisa said honestly because she got a little too distracted by the cute fuming angry kitten in front of her. She completely lost her argument.

"Idiot." Jennie said as she grabbed Lisa's hand, dragging her back to their table. People kept approaching them after that, congratulating Lisa on being the highest bid.

Eventually Kai walked up to them too and Jennie almost threw her champagne at him to get him to go away.

"I guess I underestimated you Lisa." Kai said.

Lisa didn't respond, sipping on her own drink as she ignored him.

"I guess it's to be expected though, from someone of your class." Kai continued, smirking.

Jennie really didn't like his tone and immediately got angry.

"What are you saying Kai?" Jennie asked him sharply.

He shrugged. "Just that she probably sells herself all the time. They probably know her already. I'm sure at least a few of these gentlemen here have been repeat customers so of course she had the highest bid." Kai said smugly and Jennie lost it, getting up from her chair angrily because of Kai's insinuation.

Jisoo tried to get up too but she stayed seated when she felt Chaeyoung slip a hand on her lap to stop her. Chaeyoung knew Lisa would handle it and she didn't need her girlfriend getting in trouble for trying to hit Kai.

Lisa got up just as fast as Jennie, holding her from behind, pulling Jennie back into her body and whispering into her ear.

"Relax Jennie." Lisa said as she rubbed soothing circles into Jennie's stomach with her fingers. "He's just trying to bait you."

"Fuck off Kai." Jennie said angrily, her body visibly relaxing into Lisa's as soon as Lisa had touched her.

Kai didn't like the sight so he did what he did best, taunted them.

"Is it ten thousand a week or a night? Frankly, I think Lisa is overpriced either way." Kai said scoffing at them.

Jennie raised her hand, fully prepared to hit him but Lisa grabbed it just in time to stop her. She turned Jennie around to face her and Jennie instantly deflated as soon as she noticed the look on Lisa's face. Jennie had expected to see Lisa hurt because of Kai's words, but Lisa was just smirking. She leaned in to whisper into Jennie's ear again, boring her eyes into Kai's the entire time she spoke.

"Pathetic little boys don't deserve to see the angry kitten. Let it go Jennie, he's just mad he lost the baddest bitch on campus so now he's trying to act all big and bad but we both know he isn't worth it."

Jennie actually giggled at her words and Kai noticed, he got angry despite the fact he didn't know what Lisa had just said to Jennie. He was on the verge of shoving Lisa away from Jennie but a hand on his shoulder stopped him at the last second. Kai's father had seen the interaction and had gone to intervene.

"Go back to your seat Kai. Your date is waiting." He said sternly. He didn't need his son to embarrass him yet again in front of all the distinguished SNU staff and charity people.

Jennie turned around and watched as Kai's father squeezed his shoulder harshly, walking him back to their table.

Jennie thought everything would be over soon but of course her father and her mother decided to pay their table a visit too before the event ended.

"Congratulations Lisa. You were quite popular today."

"Thank you, sir." Lisa said, not really knowing what else to say.

"I wonder how high your bid would have gone if our daughter hadn't intervened. She made you win."

"Lisa would have still had the highest bid." Jennie said matter of factly. "She made twice as much as the second highest even before I put my bid in."

"I suppose you're right. I hope you know you're not using the black card for this." Jennie's father said to Jennie.

Jennie smiled at them with a glint in her eye.

"I hope you know you're not my only source of income, father." Jennie said, challenging him.

"I suppose not. Anyway, remember that we have a family dinner in a week. Kai will be there. I expect you to be courteous to him and get back in his good graces."

Lisa tried hard to not clench her jaw at his response. The audacity of this man. Jennie grabbed Lisa's hand, threading them together again.

"Sorry dad. I can't make it. I have a date with Lisa that day."

Jennie's father bristled again. "You've known about this dinner for a month."

"Should I bring Lisa with me then?"

"Do whatever you want." Jennie's dad said angrily.

"Great, don't expect me. I'll be missing it."

Jennie's parents walked away and Lisa was finally able to breathe correctly. She faced Jennie.

"Are you sure he can't kick me out of school?"

"Oh, he totally can." Jennie answered.

"What?!" Lisa shouted, panicking.

"He can, he won't though. He's an asshole, but he follows the rules for the most part." Jennie said, fighting the smile threatening to take over her face at Lisa's look of sheer panic.

Lisa looked at her disbelievingly so Jennie called Jisoo over.

"Can you help me calm her down, I have to go settle the bid." Jennie said to Jisoo before walking away.

"What's wrong Limario?"

"I'm probably getting kicked out of school because I decided to fak—to date the president's daughter." Lisa amended, she resisted the urge to slap herself for almost spilling the truth.

"Relax Lisa, as long as you don't get him fired my uncle won't come after you. He values his position too much." Jisoo said, patting her back and bringing Lisa back to their table.

______

Jennie walked around her apartment in comfy clothes dancing around and eating ice cream. She didn't realize Jisoo was still in the house. Usually Jisoo spent her weekends with Chaeyoung in her room or going on dates with her exploring downtown Seoul so she almost jumped out of her skin when she ran into Jisoo in the living room.

"Holy crap. What are you still doing here?" Jennie asked, holding her chest in shock.

"Waiting for Rosie." Jisoo answered, eyes glued to the tv as she played her game.

"Oh. Cool." Jennie put her headphones back on and started dancing her way back into her room, still eating out of her big tub of ice cream.

Jennie passed out sometime before five pm. She could usually finish a whole gallon of ice cream by herself but that time was one of those rare occasions when she hadn't and the ice cream had melted as she slept. She was laying face down, holding the tub with one hand and the spoon in the other. She was only wearing an over sized t-shirt over her underwear and some long socks so she had been too comfortable and ended up falling asleep.

________

Lisa was forced to come with Chaeyoung to their apartment. She hadn't had much of a choice. She didn't really have an excuse for not going to her 'girlfriend's' house when Chaeyoung had invited her so she found herself walking with her best friend to their girls' apartment together.

Jennie didn't answer any of her texts the whole time so Lisa had no choice but to drop in practically unannounced. Jisoo had told them Jennie was home so Lisa couldn't do much but just roll up.

She walked to Jennie's room as soon as Jisoo pointed it out for her. Lisa knocked lightly on the door but Jennie didn't answer. She eventually had to crack the door open.

Lisa almost melted at the sight of Jennie sprawled on her bed holding a spoon and a tub of ice cream in each hand. Lisa closed the door behind her. She was going to wake Jennie up, not wanting to invade her privacy but Jennie looked entirely too comfortable and Lisa suddenly didn't have the heart to.

She walked around Jennie's room instead, observing everything. It was softer than Lisa expected it to be, showing Lisa a side of Jennie she hardly ever saw. The cute, pouty side that was usually reserved for Jisoo. Sometimes Lisa saw it during Jennie's temper tantrums but it wasn't often.

Lisa looked around for a while before sitting in a reading nook next to Jennie's bed. She watched Jennie sleep peacefully for a while, a little mesmerized that Jennie looked so calm and sweet in her sleep. She did her best to avoid looking at her exposed legs, not knowing why it made her feel flustered. She didn't realize when exactly she fell asleep too, hugging one of Jennie's pillows to her.

Jennie stirred eventually. She rubbed her eyes groggily. Wiping her mouth afterwards, glad she hadn't drooled. She finally came to and saw the tub of ice cream that had completely melted. Jennie almost face palmed because she had been this close to spilling the melted ice cream on her white comforter. She rolled her eyes at herself, even at her age she still managed to have sugar rushes and then crashing unexpectedly.

Jennie lifted herself up on the bed fully finally, she didn't realize Lisa was there so naturally as soon as she saw her Jennie yelped and fell off her bed, spilling the melted ice cream all over her own face.

Lisa woke with a start from the sound.

"Jennie?" Lisa asked, running around the bed. Jennie was on the ground, face covered in melted ice cream. Lisa resisted the urge to laugh, running to Jennie's adjoining bathroom instead. She wet a towel and ran back to clean Jennie's face.

Jennie shoved her off, stealing the towel from Lisa and wiping her face with it on her own.

"What happened Jen?" Lisa asked, unable to keep the amusement out of her voice.

"I woke up to a stalker in my room. What else?" Jennie answered grumpily.

"I'm not a stalker."

"Says the stalker."

"I'm not stalking you!"

"Why are you here then? In my room. Without an invitation." Jennie deadpanned.

"I was cornered." Lisa said sheepishly. Feeling a little bit stalkerish now. "Rosie wanted to come and I couldn't really argue with her when she invited me considering we're supposed to be dating now and you wouldn't answer your phone so I could tell her you weren't here so she texted Jisoo and found out you were so I had to come!"

Jennie grabbed her phone from the bedside table and saw the many missed calls and texts from Lisa.

"That's still no excuse. I could have pepper sprayed you."

"But you didn't." Lisa said disapprovingly. "Is it even with you!"

Jennie opened her drawer in annoyance, showing Lisa. "Relax Wonder Woman, it's right here."

"You still need to be faster, I could have been a murderer and killed you!"

Jennie unlocked the pepper spray and pointed it at Lisa.

Lisa flinched, covering her face with her arms. She wouldn't put it past Jennie to actually spray her.

"It's a little late for that now don't you think!" Lisa shrieked.

Jennie put the pepper spray down, content to have gotten Lisa back.

"How long have you been here?" Jennie asked.

"What time is it?"

"Eight."

"Two hours then." Lisa answered.

Jennie made a face at Lisa, "You've been here for two whole hours and you didn't wake me up?"

"I fell asleep!"

"Why didn't you wake me up when you got here?"

Lisa shrugged, not wanting to answer that, the honest answer she would have to give was a little too incriminating.

"And you say I'm insufferable. You can go now." Jennie said, rolling her eyes.

"Can't yet."

"Why not?"

"Rosie's still here."

"Rosie is always here."

"I have to walk her back to our dorm."

"What if she decides to spend the night?"

"Then I can walk back on my own."

"What did I just say!"

"You asked me what would happen if Rosie spent the night?"

"That's not what I meant. You can't just leave by yourself in the middle of the night Lisa!"

"It's 8pm." Lisa deadpanned.

Jennie felt annoyed again.

"Exactly. You should go now before it gets too late and you get murdered on your way home.

"Can't yet."

"Why not!"

"Because Rosie!" Lisa shouted again.

Jennie took a deep calming breath before she did something she regretted like murdering Lisa. Though she wasn't sure she'd regret it as much as long as she didn't get caught.

"Insufferable!" Jennie said coldly to Lisa. She grabbed Lisa's hand and dragged her to the bed again. "Stay here, don't move, or I'll hunt you down."

Lisa sat down on Jennie's bed, looking around the room again. She stood up when she noticed a picture of a really, really young Jennie. She was super little and sporting a wide baby gummy smile. Lisa didn't know why she did it, but she pulled her phone out, snapping a picture of the photo with her own camera.

"Cute." Lisa whispered as she looked at it. Young Jennie looked like a baby kitten.

Lisa jumped when the door opened again, hastily moving away from the picture. Luckily, Jennie didn't see it because she walked in loaded with so many snacks that you couldn't even see her face behind them. Lisa ran up to help her with them.

"What's this?" Lisa asked.

"Rosie's still here, might as well watch a movie or something. There's no way I'm staying in this room with you without doing something to distract me from the fact that you're still here."

Jennie went back to the bed and sat down, grabbing the remote for her huge tv. Lisa stood awkwardly in the middle of the room.

Jennie rolled her eyes and grabbed all her pillows, dividing the bed as she arranged the pillows down the middle.

"Sit. Stay on your side of the pillow wall." Jennie demanded.

Lisa rolled her eyes.

"Like I would want to cross it." She answered, sitting on her side of the bed. "What are we watching?"

"I don't know. Whatever you want, you pick."

Jennie handed Lisa the remote after she said that, letting her scroll.

"Disney movie?" Lisa asked.

"No." Jennie answered.

Lisa backed out of Disney plus.

"Reality show then?" Lisa said going into Hulu.

"Too fake."

"K drama?" She asked, clicking on Viki.

"Too cheesy. You're already here for that." Jennie quipped.

"Horror movie then?"

"Hell no." Jennie said, almost shuddering.

"Why? You scared?" Lisa teased, still scrolling through Netflix now.

"No." Jennie said in an unconvincing voice.

Lisa let it go for once, deciding not to pick on her this time.

"Alright I'm not even going to ask you anymore. I'm just going to pick a romantic lesbian movie."

"No, you pervert."

"How am I being a pervert?"

"Lesbian movies always have graphic sex scenes."

"And how do you know that?" Lisa teased.

"No reason." Jennie mumbled. "Just pick something else."

"Black Mirror?"

"Fine." Jennie finally said. A little too flustered to argue now.

They binge watched the show, occasionally bickering over it. Lisa settled in more and more and eventually she stopped being so anxious about being in Jennie's room with Jennie sitting right next to her.

"Why aren't you eating the snacks?" Lisa asked at some point.

"Why aren't you eating the snacks?" Jennie echoed.

"Because."

"Because why."

"Because they're your snacks."

"I brought them for you. Idiot. Do you think I would actually eat any of this junk?"

Lisa cracked a smile.

"I'm not touching them if these are all Jisoo's." Lisa countered.

"They're actually Rosie's. Jisoo stocks the pantry with all of Rosie's favorite stuff for when she comes over."

"Then I'm definitely not touching them. Rosie carries a knife in her purse, she'll cut me with it if I take her food."

"Pussy."

"I'm not! She's just scary. It's always the quiet ones." Lisa said indignantly.

Jennie actually giggled.

"I guess you're right. I've never seen Rosie mad. I think I'd freak out if I ever saw it."

Lisa shuddered, "You should hope you never do, it's awful."

"You've seen her mad before?"

"Once."

Jennie looked away from the t.v.

"What happened?"

"Suzy and I broke up for a bit after she graduated and left. I was depressed over it and tanked my grades even more than I usually do. It was my senior year and I didn't think I'd get into college anyway so I withdrew from my high school and tried to move back to Thailand without telling Rosie about any of it."

"Idiot. Why would you do all of that just because of a girl?"

"It wasn't just that. I was awful in school anyway. I even ended up getting arrested a couple of times during my senior year. I knew Rosie could get in to a great university like this one but I know she would have followed me to a shitty school if I didn't get in too. I was sure I wouldn't and I didn't want to drag her down with me."

"You guys are pretty inseparable aren't you? I could actually see Rosie doing that for you."

"She's like my platonic soulmate. I can't imagine living without her but at the time I thought it was what was best for her. I figured I'd come back once Rosie graduated and got her life together so I decided to leave."

"What happened?"

"She caught me packing for Thailand and slapped the shit out of me. She was livid." Lisa touched her cheek. "I swear I can still feel it. She's deceptively strong."

Jennie giggled.

"Are you laughing at my pain right now?"

"Sorry not sorry," Jennie shrugged, "Sounds like you deserved that and much worse for trying to leave your best friend behind without even telling her."

"The slap wasn't even the worst part of it though, it was the look of anger and disappointment that did it for me. The fact that she yelled at me hysterically for not telling her I was trying to move and not even trying to say goodbye. She didn't even cry, and you know Rosie, she cries over everything. That probably hit the hardest because the fact I had hurt her so much she couldn't even cry broke my heart."

"I know, she does cry over everything, it's cute. I heard her crying over her pet fish the other day because she missed him so much."

Lisa laughed, "She cried all week over him! I had to bribe her with food so she'd stop crying. You'd think Joohwangie was dead with how sad she was."

"I can't imagine what would happen if her poor fish actually died."

"Please don't jinx it. I'll go broke trying to distract her from her sadness with food." Lisa deadpanned.

Jennie giggled.

"Okay, so you got arrested, tanked your grades and withdrew from school, yet you still managed to get into the best school in Korea? I don't get how you did it Lis, that's like a miracle."

"My mom died." Lisa admitted.

Jennie didn't really know where Lisa was going with this and how it was even relevant to what they were talking about but the look of pain on Lisa's face sobered Jennie up.

"I'm sorry Lisa. I didn't know. Not that there's anything I could even say that would even comfort you from the fact your mom is gone. I'm just sorry."

"It's been a while." Lisa answered softly, because no matter how long it had been since her mom passed it still hurt. Lisa noticed how Jennie actually looked concerned for her but she shook it off because they still hated each other right?

"Sorry, didn't mean to ruin the mood, but it's kind of relevant. My mom died a week later after Rosie caught me trying to run back to Thailand to live with her. Rosie's parents adopted me afterwards. They're both lawyers and I don't know how they did it but they worked miracles to get me readmitted into school without losing my place. I spent the rest of the semester catching up.

By some miracle I did, thanks to Rosie. She hates school as much as I do but she's book-smart, unlike me. She helped me a lot. I was really sad over my mom passing away so I threw myself into school and photography and dance to distract myself. I guess all my sadness must have bled through my photography portfolio and my dance audition because they made an exception for me.

My gpa was way below the SNU entrance level but they liked my pictures, saying something about them being really emotional so I got in. The dance committee said the same thing about my audition."

"That's amazing Lisa. I'm sure your mom is very proud of you. Not many people could go through something like that and completely turn their life around. If it was me I probably would have given up to be honest. I'm not nearly as strong as you."

Jennie reached out to squeeze Lisa's hand. She didn't even realize how intimate the gesture was. Lisa smiled softly at her. She felt a little proud of what Jennie had said.

Jennie finally realized what she was doing and cleared her throat, pulling her hand back hastily.

She distracted herself by grabbing some chips in front of her and opened them, looking back at the t.v. Jennie wouldn't be caught dead eating chips but she needed something to take her mind off of the conversation she had just had with Lisa.

They usually fought, they never had deep conversations like this and she felt a funny feeling in her stomach as she got to know more about Lisa. She didn't seem so bad after all. Jennie really did admire her for going through what she went through and still choosing to fight.

They kept watching the show in comfortable silence after that. They eventually fell asleep.

Rosie knocked on the door gently at around 11. She figured Lisa would want to go home so she had decided she wasn't going to spend the night but she got no response after knocking. Jisoo opened the door a crack and noticed they were both asleep. They closed the door.

"Looks like you're spending the night after all chipmunk." Jisoo said grinning.

"Looks like it." Chaeyoung said, smiling too. She really hadn't wanted to go home either.

Jennie and Lisa both had their arms wrapped around the pillow wall, their legs entangled in each other. They had gotten closer and closer through the night and they ended up both cuddling the pillows, their faces mere inches from each other.

They both woke up to a knock on the door the next morning.

"Come eat breakfast you two!"

Lisa and Jennie stirred at the same time.

Lisa opened her eyes, she had slept comfortably, it was warm and the bed felt like a cloud. She smiled when she noticed pretty catlike eyes stare back at her. Then she came to her senses at the same time Jennie did and they both shrieked, flinging themselves away from each other.

Jennie shot up on the bed and Lisa fell on the ground, scrambling up quickly and rubbing the back of her neck nervously.

"I—uh, sorry. Guess I fell asleep." Lisa said nervously.

"Yeah—no, its okay. I fell asleep too." Jennie answered back just as hastily.

"Hurry up before it gets cold!" They heard Jisoo yell. "Chipmunk will get grumpy!"

"Um. I guess I'll go brush my teeth real quick." Jennie said, turning around and walking to her bathroom. Then she stopped. "Uh, I have an extra toothbrush if you want to use it."

"Yeah. Thanks." Lisa said, following behind her.

Jennie handed Lisa the toothbrush and they brushed their teeth in silence. Averting their eyes from each other. They both felt a little awkward, especially since they kept accidentally spitting in unison.

Lisa broke the silence once they both rinsed.

"Do you have many visitors?"

"What?"

"You know, since you keep an extra toothbrush and all." Lisa asked.

"Are you trying to insinuate something?" Jennie asked.

"I wasn't, but now that you say that it makes me wonder."

"Wonder what Lisa?" Jennie said, raising her voice.

"You know what."

"If you're going to wonder then woman up and ask me directly about exactly what it is you want to know." Jennie said, losing her patience because she couldn't believe Lisa was really insinuating what she was insinuating right now.

Lisa didn't know why the thought of Jennie having other people come over was bothering her but it was.

"Just remember our contract." Lisa said, walking out of the bathroom. "No cheating."

Jennie huffed. "The audacity." She grabbed Lisa by the back of the collar before she could leave Jennie's room. Lisa choked a bit.

"If you ever, insinuate that I bring people over and let them spend the night with me like that ever again I swear I will slash your tires Lisa. I'm not a cheater. Even if I am just in a fake fucking relationship."

Jennie let go of Lisa's collar roughly and went to the dining room to have breakfast.

Lisa rubbed her neck.

"Don't piss off the angry kitten, got it."

Lisa followed her out.
