You and your teammates all sat together in a row of seats. You sat next to Yang. You all watched below as the stadium set itself up. There was a forest on team BRNZ's side, and on team JNPR's side, there was a mountain. Both teams drew their weapons ready to fight each other.
Professor Port: *Over intercom* Three... two... one...
Jaune raised his sword into the air.
Jaune: Come one guys!
Professor Port: *Over intercom* Begin!
Team JNPR then all ran at team BRNZ and they did the same, except for their teammate May who ran into the forest and positioned herself into a tree with her rifle.
Pyrrha ran up to fight Brawnz as he attempted to attack her with his gauntlet but Pyrrha parried it with Milo' and bashed him with her shield before slashing at him with Milo' and knocking him away.
Nora ran up to Nolan and began spinning Magnhild around her body but Nolan avoided her attacks by ducking under them. Ren attempted to help out but the May began shooting at Ren from her vantage point. The first shot missed and destroyed a boulder behind Ren. She then focused her shots on Jaune who was blocking Roy's attacks with his shield. Her shot bounced off of Jaune's shield and Jaune now looked panicked.
Jaune: Retreat!
y/n: *In stands* Looks like they're playing dirty.
Nora and Ren ran behind Jaune and Pyrrha towards the rubble behind them as Jaune and Pyrrha followed behind them. Jaune was using his Aegis semblance to shield them from May's shots. They all managed to get behind cover but they were then being chased by Roy, Nolan, and Brawnz.
Pyrrha: What do we do?
Jaune: Spread out! Try to keep moving!
Team JNPR then split up and began taking on Roy, Nolan, and Brawnz all separately. Ren tried to take on Nolan again but was distracted by having to dodge May's shots as well. Nolan ended up tazing Ren with his baton-like weapon and fell back stunned.
Nora: Ren!
Nora then ran up to Nolan and attempted to swing Magnhild at him but he dodged under it and Nolan tried to taze Nora as well. However, Nora seemed to be unaffected.
y/n: *In stands* Oooh. Things are about to end ugly for him.
Yang: *In stands* He's in for it now.
Professor Port: *Over intercom* Oho, it looks like one of my favorite students, Nora Valkyrie is charging up to use her semblance!
Nolan: What?
Professor Oobleck: *Over intercom* Yes, Miss Valkyrie's semblance lets her produce, as well as channel, electrical energy straight to her muscles. This allows her to jump explosively into the air, wield her mighty hammer, or in this case, absorb Nolan's attacks and send the young man flying.
Nolan: What!?
Nora then channeled the electricity to her muscles making herself much stronger as she then took another huge swing with Magnhild and knocked him into a boulder on the other side of the battlegrounds.
A thunder cloud then began to form above the mountain behind team JNPR. Jaune looked up and it seemed like he got an idea.
Jaune: Nora! Get to the mountain!
Nora gave Jaune a salute.
Nora: You've got it. Nora then ran up to the mountain and began to climb it. Jaune then called out to Ren who was beside him a moment ago.
Jaune: Ren! Try and distract the sniper.
A shot flew by Ren's head.
Ren: *Sarcastically* Sure, why not?
Jaune and Pyrrha then began fighting Brawnz and Roy. Roy threw two circular saw discs at Jaune and Jaune used his Aegis semblance to block them easily. However, you noticed by looking at the aura gage meters for each teammate above showed that Jaune's aura had depleted a considerable amount when he used it.
y/n: *In stands* Oh!
Yang: *In stands* What's wrong?
y/n: *In stands* Jaune's semblance depleted a little when he used his semblance.
Yang: *In stands* Really?
y/n: *In stands* Yeah. It looks like it's not something he can use constantly.
Jaune then ran up to Roy and shield bashed him in the face before slashing at him and knocking him away with Crocea Mors.
Ruby: *In stands* Yeah! Way to go Jaune!
Weiss: *In stands* Well, he's certainly improved.
Yang: *In stands* Yeah, but he ain't got nothing on Pyrrha.
y/n: *In stands* But he sure knows how to hold his own now.
Pyrrha then ran up to Brawnz and threw Akouo at him disorienting hitting him in the face and disorienting him. Akouo then bounced back to her as she caught it and slashed at him with Milo' causing him to spin around before kicking him away.
Ren amongst the chaos ran between Jaune and Pyrrha's fights and ran up to Nolan who was starting to stand up again. Ren shot at him with his Stormflowers as he closed the distance. Ren then got up close and Ren and Nolan were caught in a weapon lock with each other. Ren then disoriented Nolan with some kicks from below and grappled him using Nola's baton-like weapon to use him as a human shield against May. However, May then turned her attention to Nora who was nearly at the top of the mountain.
Ren: Nora!
Jaune then turned to Pyrrha.
Jaune: Pyrrha! I'm gonna need a boost!
Jaune and Pyrrha then ran up to one another. Jaune jumped onto Pyrrha's shield Akouo as Pyrrha jousted Jaune into the air. Pyrrha then seemed to use her semblance to propel Jaune further into the air. May attempted to shoot Nora but Jaune then used his Aegis semblance to create a shield blocking May's shot at Nora. However, Jaune's aura was then further depleted as he was knocked back and tumbled through the rubble at the base of the mountain. His aura was now nearly low enough for him to be considered defeated.
Ruby: *In stands* Jaune's aura is taking too much punishment. One more hit and he's out.
Nora then reached the top of the mountain and hoisted Magnhild into the air as lightning stuck her and amplified her strength. Nora then converted Magnhild to grenade launcher mode and fired all of her explosive rounds at once at the tree May was in. The grenades all shaped a heart as they flew through the air. May leaped over to another tree but the explosion caused a huge pillar of smoke to engulf the forest.
Yang: *In stands* Well, I guess you could say she really, poured her HEART into that!
You chuckled at Yang's pun but the rest of your teammates were very annoyed with it.
The pillar of smoke caused May to begin coughing profusely forcing her to jump down from the tree. Nora then jumped down towards the rest of team BRNZ with Magnhild and struck the ground in the center of them and knocked them all towards May. Team BRNZ was now all grouped up.
Jaune looked hurt but picked himself back up.
Jaune: Alright Nora! Finish them off!
Nora: Got it!
Nora ran up to team BRNZ and attacked all of them at once with Magnhild and launched them all into the force field barrier right in front of you and your teammates.
You and team RWBY: OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
The buzzer then went off signaling they were all now defeated.
Professor Port: *Over intercom* And with that, it appears team JNPR wins by knockout. Literally. Can someone go make sure they're ok?
y/n: Well, that just happened.
Yang: No kidding.
Switching perspectives to Cinder's.
Cinder was sitting on the other side of the stadium with Emerald and Mercury. Cinder was taking a picture of you and your teammates from across the stadium. She then sent the picture to Adam and began texting him.
Cinder: *Text* You're brother will be continuing to participate in the tournament. With the heiress of all people.
Adam: *Text* HE'S WORKING WITH A SCHNEE!?
Cinder giggled knowing Adam was enraged.
Cinder: *Text* It seems so. Would you like the opportunity to face her as well?
There was a pause before Adam's next response.
Adam: *Text* No. I only want to face my brother. Alone.
Cinder: *Text* Very well then. We'll sort things out.
Cinder then tucked her scroll away and mischievously glared at you and team RWBY as she devised what she would do with you next.
Here we are another chapter down. I thought this fight would be a good way to show the drawbacks of Jaune's Aegis semblance in this chapter since he would have a lot of opportunities to use it. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed it! Thanks for all your support!
