In a village built on a low water lake cheerful laughter rang out as the lizard children ran around playing with each other; creating an ambiance that was carefree and lively.
This serene moment, however, was disturbed by an ominous cloud forming in the sky, catching the attention of the villagers and silencing the laughter of the children.
Sensing the danger behind the phenomenon, the chief lizardman firmly gave out orders.
"Hide the children! Anyone not a warrior take shelter in your homes!"
The villagers scurried along quickly to carry out his orders. Not long after , something foreboding emerged from the clouds.
With many distorted faces and a voice that overlapped with menacing tones the messenger of death began,
"Hear me! I have been sent by the Great One, as a herald! I declare death unto you!"
" The Great One has mobilized an army to destroy you! Nonetheless, time has been granted unto you to allow you to mount a desperate albeit futile resistance! Eight days from now at that time you shall be the second offering of death from the lizard men tribes of this lake!"
The second?
" Offer your desperate resistance, so the Great One May sneeringly take delight ! By no means forget, eight days!" And with that last warning, the unsettling atmosphere became calm once again.

"You remember the clouds covered the heavens right? That was likely fourth tier magic, cloud control," the head priestess of the green claw lizardmen tribe advised the lizardmen as they kept a meeting to discuss the current situation.
"Only a powerful magic caster could use something of this scope. Even I can only use as high as second tier. We should evacuate as soon as possible," the priestess advised.
"Are you saying we should run away before we even start fighting?!" The head warrior of the tribe uttered in disbelief.
"That thing said we have eight days. We still have time, so I believe we should wait and see what the enemy does," another tribe member added.
"If the choice is between running and fighting, I choose the latter."
"Zaryusu, a traveler such as your self may not speak. You should be grateful we're even allowing you in here-
Bang!
Slapping his tail to the ground, the tribe leader interrupted his tribesmen, drawing their attention to him.
"We are allowing anyone with any learning to participate right now. It would be wrong not to listen to the opinions of travelers as well"

Nazarick
"Is Lord Ains around?" Demiurge asked upon return to Nazarick.
"No, he said he would be at the human village for several days. Y/N~sama and Albedo-San are inside however."
"I see. By the way Eclair it's unusual for an assistant butler such as yourself to come all this way," Demuirge commented.
"Sebas-San is not around right now, so I must work twice as hard to make up the difference. I just finished making some specific arrangements with lady Y/N and Albedo," Eclair explained.
"I guess your right, now that he's gone, Nazarick's ninth floor is in your capable hands."
"Absolutely"

Meanwhile with the lizardmen
The lizard men with the help of the traveler Zaryusu traveled to other lizard men tribes to recruit warrior to assist in the upcoming fight.
Compared to the desperation of the lizard men, those in the Nazarick camp were more laxed, waiting for the opportunity to please their supreme rulers in the upcoming fight, or what they predict to be a one sided massacre.

And so the battle began.
The lizard men faired well in the opening battle, taking the advantage against the Nazarick camp.
Backed in a corner, Cocytus sent out the elder liche who leveled the plane field very quickly, but unfortunately was defeated by the traveling warrior Zaryusu.
This victory was taken by the lizard men.

A/n: Hey guys 👋. I know I missed the promised update but I really couldn't help it. A relative of mine was missing a few week ago and his body was found 2 weeks ago, then my brother was also found dead so it's been a crazy few weeks.
Anyways I'm behind on writing and therefore will be behind on the updates for a while, sorry about that.
