"But you said we're going to win!" Adam protested. "Because you're going to defeat the Overlord! And we'll all be okay!"
Lloyd felt as if his heart had gotten stabbed. Adam was so hopeful, so... innocent. The truth was, Lloyd had no idea if they were going to win. And we'll all be okay? Did I really say that? That's what Adam thought—that's probably what most of the younger Baddies thought. But Lloyd knew they wouldn't all be okay.
