The prince spoke with rage after seeing tears in Nandini's eyes. He wanted to be reason for her smile not her tears
"Veer you don't know which omnious thing you just bought into kingdom. She is the same girl which whole town talks about! She brings destruction son wherever she keeps her feet at."
This was the thing which hurted her since childhood. The fact which made her life miserable
"Nonsense Mother, who is spreading this baseless rumour"
He roared holding her hand more tightly
His mother was about to say something when she saw her husband coming towards their direction to see what chaos was going on
"My Queen what is going on here? "
King asked in strict yet firm tone as he could see how their whole guest have surrounded them
"My King tell your son to remove this girl out of our castle. She is the same omnious girl who brings destruction My King. See once she stepped here she has started to create fight between me and my Son."
Queen started yelling by throwing dagger at the poor soul
"Mother, It's me who is fighting with you and that is because of your attitude towards her. She's my friend and here you'll are treating her this way"
Prince reasoned his statement by standing firm towards his father
"Father, trust me she isn't some thing which can cause bad or anything she's just normal pure girl who happened to be my friend. Please tell Mother to understand me"
Veer almost pleaded to hos father for saving the girl's dignity which because of him has entered the kingdom.
Nandini thought maybe King could give some justice
"Veer take this girl out of the castle if your mother is saying something you should obey her"
Veer was astonished at his father's decision, he wanted atleast him to give her justice.
"Queen she has brought so many misfortunes to her family I wonder why her family haven't disowned her till now"
The lady which was standing beside queen started instigating her more
"It's her parents fault to give birth to such a bad omen"
Queen muttered looking at her with venom full eyes. Nandini just closed her eyes releasing her tears feeling her heart could burst listening to those words
"Mother"
The voice of prince echoed the whole castle
King instantly slapped Veer.
"Enough is enough Veer"
King exclaimed being himself in guilt as he never raised a finger on his child but today watching him being disobedient towards his Queen for a mere girl and on making a joke of himself infront of all elite people of town.
Veer was stunned at his father's reaction
Everyone gasped at the situation while Nandini kept her hand on her mouth flinching at the scene
"King What are you doing? "
Queen immediately went to her husband's side holding his hand
"Veer go to your room this moment and you girl before I do something which I regret get out of the castle and never step here again"
King harshly spoke with his rage full eyes making Veer quiet with his fear.
He wanted to stop Nandini but now he was lost of courage.
Nandini somehow gathered herself before giving a last tearful glance to her Prince.
Veer looked at her with guilt full eyes. He wanted her to be happy for that night but he became a reason for her tear
She ran away from there holding her gown before breaking more infront of them.
"Shameless girl came to make the prince hers"
"I wonder if she used her beauty to make Prince go crazy for her"
"I dont know what bad will happen now after she's gone"
These were all the comments she got to hear while escaping the palace.
For her life she beared all the insults.
which people threw without even bothering of her feelings but for the first time she felt bad not because of her but because of Prince. The people were badmouthing the Next King which she don't wanna bear.
She stood outside before looking back at the brightening lights which illuminated the whole palace.
She knew Prince's intention wasn't wrong but destiny was never in favour of hers

Days went by since that incident but both Veer and Nandini couldn't forget eachother.
Nandini's life couldn't get more worse after ball incident. Her family's torture grew more and more while Nandini couldn't feel any pain given by them as the heartwrenching pain she had already felt by departing from Her Prince.
She promised herself to not marry anyone in this life as she has already given her soul to Prince. Even if she don't see him again that one memory of him was enough for her for entire life.
On the other side,
Veer's condition wasn't good,
Each day he was drown in guilt. He started having nightmares of Nandini of how he couldn't save her from the humiliation.
He wanted to reach to her, ask her about her condition, want to hold her in his arms, confess her about his untold feelings but he wasn't that brave to against his Father.
He had been caged for entire 3 months in kingdom where all his studies and fighting lessons were conducted within kingdom itself.

One day Veer was reading a book sitting in his balcony,

He immediately called his close steward
"Yes Prince"
The steward came and stood in straight position
"I need you to do my work find Nandini anyhow
He said in his stern voice
"But Prince if King would come to know about this? "
He asked in worry because the whole kingdom knew about Nandini and no one was allowed to search for her
"That's why I'm asking you to search for her in silent. And if King comes to know I'll take the blame on myself. So please I request you to find about Nandini as soon as possible"
His tone started from order to almost begging. The desperation of his heart to see her was more than anything in this world.
The steward being most loyal to him since a long time nodded to his words leaving immediately.
3 days felt like 3 years to Veer as he waited for almost every second to hear her news.
It was evening when he was arranging books in library
His little moment was disturbed when he saw King and Queen entering together.
He greeted them having no smile on his face
"Our son wasn't visiting us so we thought why not we pay a visit to him"
King said having a strange smile on his face
Veer wasn't in mood to argue with them now
"I was busy in reading"
He replied dryly
"Well since childhood you are fond of all this reading, I'm sure you would be a great king My son
Queen spoke by looking at book's cover in her son's hand
"I was preparing myself from the very beginning for this"
He kept the book in the shelf then faced them
"And I also know you'll have came here for a reason though"
He crossed his arms looking sternly at both his parents. He was always an obedient and all smiley child to his parent but since they were the one's who humiliated Nandini, He wasn't able to forgive them
"Look Veer things have turned very bad into your life and we are sorry that we had to cage our son like this but it was for your benefit. We didn't wanted you to do some Childishness just before your King ceremony. "
His father explained him in a polite voice being in guilt for slapping him the other day
"That doesn't explain the fact I've been living like a prisoner Father. "
The hurt in his voice was visible enough
"You've always wanted to be King son then why are you letting your image down for some random girl?"
His mother tried sugar coating him
"She was not a random girl mother, She was my guest and you'll humiliated her infront of everyone. "
His parents now were pissed off with him. They tried to keep him away since 3 months but all his memories were fresh in his mind as if all happened yesterday
"She isn't someone you should have bought as a guest Veer. She is an inauspicious girl"
She was cut off by Veer
"She is not inauspicious her name is Nandini. Don't give her these baseless names"
He stood straight infront of his parents defending the love of his life ❤
"Listen here Young Man we haven't came here to discuss about that day nor give justification about that girl. Just forget about everything and be ready tomorrow is your Crowning ceremony. You have to prepare yourself for that rather than ponder on past stuff. I'll send royal chief to explain you about tomorrow. Am I clear"
His father was back to arrogant filled voice. He gave a glare at him before leaving with queen
He palmed his face as how confusing his life is going.
He was becoming distant to his parent and he wasn't able to reach his love. Everything was messing up for him.
After some minutes the steward came to him finally
He immediately went to him
"Any news? "
His voice dripped of desperation
"I am sorry Prince but her family has left their home and rumours say that they married that girl off"
This sentence felt like a cloud burst on Veer.
The feeling of guilt submerged his heart of not looking for her earlier
"What nonsense? Did you confirm those rumours by yourself? "
He wasn't able to beleive the fact that she is married to some other person
"It's true Prince"
He politely said and took his leave from there to give him space
Veer was taken aback, He didn't expected this. He thought maybe he could find her apologize her or atleast tell her about his feeling but now all he could do was regret for not approaching her before or atleast defending her at Ball. If he could have done something he wouldn't had let Nandini suffer so much.
He ended up being emotional for letting a girl like Nandini be of someone else

Whole town was gathered for the New King crowning Ceremony
"I also pledge to to look after the welfare and growth of the town. I will spend my entire life in service to my people and I also promise to be a just Ruler and follow the path of my ancestors"
Veer ended his long speech with the last few lines accepting the crown of King
"Hail King Veer. Hail King Veer"
People voice echoed the whole surrounding witnessing the New king.
Now the mystery prince wasn't mystery anymore.
"Thank you all for coming at today's event. I finally rest my place to my son and the future King of this town. I am sure Veer would prove much better King than I am.
So for this I've decided today's case verdict will be given by King Veer."
Veer was astonished hearing the big announcement
He agreed he had prepared himself for this position but still acknowledging the truth false, understanding the part of victim and giving decision of What's correct isn't something he had done before
"Veer are you ready? "
King asked him having the same arrogant voice
Veer nodded slightly having the fear in his heart but still he gathered his courage and tried to examine everything thoroughly
"The case is about a Murder"
The royal chief spoke infront of mic so everyone of the villager could hear of the trial
Veer couldn't pay attention to anyone as his gaze fall on that person which his eyes were craving to look.
His heart beating fast to have a glimpse of Nandini but he didn't expected in his worst nightmares he's next meeting would be this hurting.
Her hands and legs were tied with chains while her hairs were all messy and so was her condition.
She didn't had any vibrant expressions on her face but the tear marks were visible
The steward dragged her and made her stood infront of court
The court was 5 stairs high where King's Family was settled.
As soon as Veer's eyes met her, Nandini felt ashamed of herself of having meeting him like this. She couldn't control her tears while looking at the same eyes which she prayed to look for once before she would die
Veer was feeling helpless sitting on his chair, He was heartbroken to see Nandini's conditon.
"Nandini, She is the suspect for the murder which happened two days ago. She committed murder of a very reputed family's son who was going to be her husband soon.
She not only killed him but accepted her crime infront of Royal officers too who caught her red handed with the knife"
The royal chief explained everything to King
All this while Nandini's eyes just looked at her Prince who she was desperately begging that she is not guilty.
"Keep all your personal feelings aside during this trail"
Both king and Queen informed Veer as the fould see their son lost looking at Nandini
"What could you expect from Omnious girl like her"
One person from the crowd spoke
"Hang her before she spreads her bad luck to any other family"
"I wonder why her parents didn't killed her when she was born"
Veer fisted his hand hearing all those harsh comments made on her.
"Silence, I need silence. "
Veer spoke making the entire crowd quiet by his decision
"Who are the witness? "
He asked the royal chief
"Her mother is going to testify against her"
Royal chief informed him
Veer was getting tensed. He wanted to prove her innocence but hearing the witness his mind was not helping him
"Let's hear her"
He ordered so that her mother was called and made stood infront of him
"My King, My daughter is omnious girl since the day she is born, but we didn't knew she could take someone's life. Since her birth this witch has given my husband and me just the life full of sorrow. We are ashamed to even give birth to this daughter who killed her would be husband"
The mother cried glaring furiously at her not-so-dear daughter
"Why did she killed her? "
Now the king asked her directly
"She came to me running and crying after she stabbed that poor boy with knife She confessed she had killed that person only because he was trying to get close with her"
Her mother spoke so casually as if it didn't matter
"So she just killed someone who would be her husband in one week only because he was trying to get close to her? "
The queen mockingly said emphasising on each word
"Yes My Queen my inauspicious daughter did this sin just because of this."
His mother said being unbothered by her daughter's pain
But Nandini couldn't take false accusations on her anymore
"He was not trying to get close to me, He was trying to force me. My so called parents were getting me married to a man who had already forced 2 woman before and I was his next target"
Finally Nandini yelled breaking all the silence which proved her guilty
Veer took a sharp breath hearing her sentence. He was clarified now why she had to take this harsh step
"So who do you think would marry a girl like you? You should feel happy that atleast that man agreed to make you his wife neither no one would even make you their mistress"
This was the last thing she could take as a daughter from her mother
Veer now had enough of her mother nonsense
"I agree My King I am omnious, I agree I am in auspicious, I agree I bring destruction to wherever I keep my feet at, I even agree that I killed that man"
Nandini literally yelled now looking at Veer whereas her eyes were red due to the anger which she has kept inside her since long time.
"I agree to all the accusations but I won't agree to that crime which these all people are trying to put forth on me. I didn't wanted to kill him but I had no choice"
She breathed heavily, tears falling from her eyes remembering the memories
Veer's heart ached seeing the girl who was fragile and pretty like a flower falling so weak in front of everyone.
"I said No to my parents that I don't want to marry anyone. But they were literally forcing me to marry that man when in return I opposed-"
She was left incomplete by the queen
"Young lady you are not in the position in explaining yourself. Whatever you say will not change the fact that you are not a murderer"
Queen spoke smirking towards her
"If saving my dignity makes me a murderer, Than I would accept any punishment given by King"
Her words made him feel proud that what a dignified lady he has fallen in love!
She was ready to be punished than to accept that she did something wrong without any hesitation.
"Say your verdict Veer"
King ordered him quite strongly as he noticed he was lost in her
Veer didn't had any second thought before speaking something
"Today is my first verdict and unfortunately my first case happened to be a case in which I will be going against a lot of people but standing with the truth."
He stood up from his seat descending downstairs
Both King and Queen were suprised by his reaction
"Son Veer what are you doing? "
Queen asked him in her sweet voice trying to be extra sweet infront of everybody
He ignored their questions and straightaway went and stood infront of Nandini who's eyes held hope
"Free Her This Moment"
He orders the stewards in a very strict voice.
"Veer, Are you forgetting that her trail is going on? How can you let her free? "
The king yelled at him being furious at his reaction
He seriously didn't paid any heed to the king but glared at the steward to do his job.
The steward got scared and immediately took out his keys and went to her
"Veer"
Now The king's voice wasn't same anymore. He was angry on him than before
"She is innocent so she doesn't need to be tied up like that"
He spoke while looking at the steward who was busy in unlocking the chains
"What nonsense? She had killed a man who was her would be husband"
Queen snorted back
"I call it self defence Mother. If a man was trying to force her she has all the right to kill that person in order to save her dignity. But Why she has to prove herself in front of mindless people like you'll who beleive in such nonsense things like inauspicious"
He wasn't coward boy anymore. He was a brave King who beleive to take a stand for Right!
"Even if you call it self defense she did was a murder"
Queen was the one who wasn't buying any of his lines
"So true my Queen, and My King if you want to save this girl this much what would be her future? Our family has already disowned her. So it's better to kill this girl than to make our life more miserable"
This was the line of Nandini's biological father.
Nandini didn't had any more tears left for them as what else would she expect from them. Nobody would be happy by hearing the news of her death like her parents.
Veer chuckled by hearing her parents response.
"You know even animals are far better than you. They atleast don't treat their children the way you'll are doing. What is her fault that you'll are treating her this way? Omnious? Inauspicious? Destruction? Really? I agree to only one fact that Nandini is unlucky to have got such parents like you who don't even realise what gem she is!
She has undergone such a heartwrenching incident and despite of consoling her you'll are saying to hang her? "
Veer's words surely hurted them like dagger. They have became so heartless that they forgot that they are doing this to not anyone but their own daughter
Nandini looked at Veer's face without moving her gaze. She wondered how come she crossed her ways to this Man who is saving her dignity infront of those people who never respected her.
"She did a crime My king"
Her mother had an immediate answer
"What you'll are doing is Crime. What she is doing is something we should be ashamed of as we are punishing that lady who fought for herself and here we are disgracing her. She had killed a person to save her respect and for that I King Veer don't hold Ms. Nandini guilty. She is released from all her charges and this is my final verdict"
Nandini lost all her strength as soon as Veer's words reached her ears.
Her tears were unstoppable and soon it turned into sobs. She had fallen weak since that man tried to rape her but still she fought for herself and finally Her King gave her that respect which she had lost by fighting for herself
Veer had tears to see his love breaking down like that. He was happy that he had fought all his inner fear and took stand for that girl who was once disrespected because of him.
"Veer, We haven't given you power of King to misuse it"
King spoke furiously after hearing his verdict
"I took the decision remembering all the rules Father. Being a king my duty is to stand by truth which I am doing. And coming to this girl's life after the verdict. She has someone to look after her which is her Husband"
The whole crowd was confused by his words even his parents
"What? "
They asked him
"I King Veer Accept Nandini as my Wife and Future Queen of this Kingdom"
This line of his made everyone shocked even Nandini.
"Veer are you in your senses? "
Queen came and slapped his boy who just smiled in return
"I am surely in my senses mother. I know what I am doing, I would only accept Nandini as my wife"
Veer held Nandini's hand as he was adamant on his words
"Enough of your nonsense young man, Guards arrest this lady and lock her up in cell"
Everyone was fearing to see King in this much anger. Never King had even raised a voice against anyone was not totally furious on his son
The guards nodded to his decision and went in her direction but Veer immediately took his sword out and pointed it towards them
"Don't even try to think you could hold her. I'll make sure to behead you if you put your step forward against her"
Veer's voice changed into more stern than before. This Veer wasn't the young goofy Prince anymore but a more Mature Brave King who would fight with anyone to protect his love!
"Veer you won't be able to bear the consequences of the situation you are causing"
King warned him before choosing the harsh decision for him
"I wouldn't had chosen this path if I wasn't ready for the consequences Father. I would do anything to protect the love of my life"
King smiled sarcastically as this stubborn nature is the only thing which Veer had in himself since his childhood
"If this is your last decision then step out from the King Position my son. I'll make Mayank the future King. You would have no connections with the kingdom and you both would be thrown out of this town. Think twice before you say your last decision because I have given my final words to you. But not in any face I would accept this omnious girl as the future queen of this kingdom"
Veer sighed at his words as he had already prepared himself mentally just one thing bothered him was His father didn't gave Nandini a chance.
Nandini but couldn't take this harsh punishment for Veer. She wanted his love but not on the cost of his crown of King or his family
"My Prince please don't take this decision. I would do anything for my livelihood but don't leave your everything just because of me. You have a life ahead as a King, Don't leave this position just for me Prince Please My prince let me go"
She literally begged him by holding his hands. She cried by the end of her sentence for his life don't turn into hell as hers.
"How could I leave you Nandini like this? I had already given my promise of making you my Wife. How could I backoff now?"
He whispered to her holding her hands more tightly escaping the tears he had seeing her begging to him
"You cannot but I can. Don't live in punishment just because of me My Prince. Please don't leave your luxurious life for an inauspicious girl like me"
She said by looking down. She never thought herself as inauspicious or something but today She felt it. She was ruining someone's life
"You are not inauspicious Nandini. Never repeat these words again"
He clenched his jaw hearing her words
"Prince"
She closed her eyes not wanting to leave him no
"I love you Nandini and I can't live without you, these are the fact of my life which you should also realise. Even if I get King position in exchange of you I don't want that, I don't want anything if the price is you My Love"
He whispered all those sweet words to her so that she may know how deeply he has fallen in love with her.
He smiled tearfully looking at her as he knew he's taking the best decision of his life. On the other side Nandini was speechless as her Prince loves her with same immense amount of love which she has for him
He left her for a second and went towards King.
He removed his King crown and kept it respectfully towards King.
"You also know Father how in my entire life craved for being a king"
Veer spoke standing close to his father having a tint of sadness in his heart
"You are the one who is choosing this decision Veer"
His father stood there being unaffected by his decision
"It was you who forced me to choose Father. I don't have any regrets choosing her but just I wanted to inform you, You know better who deserved this position more "
He whispered this things to King and went leading his new life
"Veer is dethroned from the Kingdom and would have no relation to any of our family nor would be allowed to walk into kingdom again"
King announced having tears in his eyes for choosing this heartbreaking destiny for his own son.
Veer smiled looking at Nandini as he held her hand and respectfully walked her out of the castle which use to be his some moments ago.

Veer and Nandini left the town and went ahead to live their life with peace faraway from the town people.
They eventually got married too and bought a small house at nearby village.
There Veer started his agriculture business which he always desired too and Nandini helped him with all the farming things.
Things have changed in Nandini's life, She didn't any depressed days anymore but only happiness. Veer never let a day pass without making her laugh or smile.
Their days were passing in making eachother happy and being busy in farming.
Veer was well educated so it wasn't much hard for him to make their livelihood.
2 months passed in their newly wedded life and till nothing bad happened to Veer or anyone in village so the rumours again started spreading in the town that a miracle happened.
They all declared Nandini as normal girl, She wasn't omnious anymore since she married Prince Veer.
Some belived it was Veer's fortune who changed her life, Some believed this marriage was the only thing which helped her but deep down only she knows It was his love which made people beleive that she is not inauspicious.

He spoke while kissing her hands and sitting straight in front of her
"It's you only who thinks this way Prince. Neither am an ordinary girl"
She started blushing hearing his compliment and lowers her gaze in shyness
"Trust me Nandini you aren't any ordinary girl not when you are dancing specifically, Have you ever seen yourself dancing? Trust me the way you dance with utmost grace made me fall in love with you. I want you to dance like that for me when the next rain happens"
He demands like a child holding her hand while she chuckles at his lines
"My Prince you have to wait for 6 months for watching me dance"
She reminded him that it's still winter
"Well waiting isn't a big deal, I have you all my life so I can wait for atleast 6 months"
He spoke while kissing her cheeks being a little more romantic
"For sure My Prince, You have me all this life and not only this I am yours in my every life"
She hugged him making herself beleive that she is living a reality not a dream.
"I love you Nandini. I am also sorry that I couldn't give you any pleasure of being the Queen"
He sighed remembering the harsh flashback
"My Prince I don't want that happiness when my real happiness lies being with you. I am beyond satisfied by having you as my husband. I have got every world's treasure in this 2 months that I don't need any kind of other pleasure My Prince"
Her honesty was the thing which kept him sane and made him love her even more.

Life took drastic turn in their life when the destiny played it's game again
It's been 4 months now to their marriage and recently Veer was hit by some kind of flu which was common around the village.
"Nandini can you give me the herbal tonic, which i asked you in morning? "
Veer asked Nandini in his hoarse voice as he coughed again.
Nandini nodded and started looking for it,
"My Prince you had already finished the tonic, let me go in market and bring it for you"
She left the dishes wiping her hand with a cloth
"No there is no need of you going anywhere in this dawn, I'll go by myself"
He being protective husband went on to search for his coat but she immediately took the money and stood in front of him.
"My prince you aren't going anywhere, not when you are this ill. I'll just go and bring that tonic in no less time. Please don't be stubborn"
She pleaded him making her puppy eyes to which he can never say no
"Okay I'm not going anywhere but you also don't go leaving me now. I'll spend this night anyhow get it tomorrow"
He coughed again by saying her those word
"My prince that tonic would help for your cough and cold. It's just matter of some time then I'll be here with you, Where am I going leaving you? I'll be back soon"
She convinced him by taking his hand in hers

She kissed his cheek for pulling the last straw in convincing him

The kiss was soft and slow showing their pure love for eachother.
Both of their heart felt heavy during the kiss but no one was sure of that unwanted feeling. They just kept kissing eachother until they fall out of breath
"I'll be back soon My Prince"
She spoke running away due to shyness while he just smiled seeing her shyness
A few minutes didn't passed there was a knock on Veer's door,
Veer was surprised to see the unwanted guest, His cousin at his doorstep
"Hello Brother"
Mayank who is now new King of Kingdom greeted him standing at his doorstep
"Mayank"
He whispered his name being little shocked
"It took me months to finally find you"
He said with a smile
"It's so surprising to have the king coming to your doorstep"
Veer's voice had excitement with a pinch of sarcasm as he let him him.
"Not atleast you Brother, I was totally unaware in other town when this decisions were made. For me you will be always be King"
He spoke in his sugar coating voice to which Veer just smiled a little believing his younger cousin
"I cannot see sister-in-law? "
He asked being curious
"She has gone to market to fetch me some tonic be seated here I'll make some tea for us"
Veer suggested while moving to kitchen
"Oh no brother you're already looking unwell, I'll make it for both of us"
He suggested removing his black coat
"Stop being ridiculous, I"
He started coughing again so Mayank took this opportunity and made him sit on mat
"Wait for 5 minutes I'll be back. "
He didn't gave him much time to say and ran off into kitchen for make themselves tea
Around 10 minutes later,
Veer and Mayank both were seated together having their tea
"How is it handling the work as King"
Veer asked sipping the tea which Mayank made
Mayank smiled
"It is really hectic brother , I don't deserve that position, you were the one who always deserved that"
"Well It is true but since the circumstances weren't in favour of mine but yours. And I know you would be a good King"
He spoke keeping his pride. Since childhood he trained himself very hard to become King one day and how easily that position went to Mayank it did hurted him but he didn't regretted choosing Nandini over it. It's just he wanted his parents to be little considerate towards him
"Things wouldn't have taken this turn Veer if you wouldn't have married that girl"
His voice turning little deep and different from before.
Veer gave a stern look at him as he never calls him by his name
"That girl is now my wife Mayank"
He couldn't complete his sentence as he starts to cough but more severely
"Don't worry in some minutes she won't be, She would be my 'courtesan'"
Courtesan : a prostitute, especially one with wealthy or upper-class clients.
Veer punched him on his face hearing that heinous word against her wife
"How dare you, say that again and I'll make sure to forget every relation we shared and bury you deep in ground"
He punched his face again grabbing his collar.
But Veer himself wasn't getting in control, due to cough he was having problem in breathing too
Mayank didn't did anything in his defence just laughed sarcastically
"You mixed something in my tea"
Veer asked getting hints with Mayank's arrival, his change of behaviour. Now he was just worried for Nandini
Mayank released himself from his clutches and kicked him down to ground
Veer couldn't believe his eyes, the one who he has grown up with had came to kill him
"Why Mayank? "
Veer whispered coughing blood now not believing his cousin and best friend could do something like this.
Mayank laughed hysterically
"You have to die brother, then only I can truly rule the kingdom. Your life is becoming harm to my position. You know I had planned to kill you before too but killing a prince would be really burden some than Killing a random man.
Now everyone will doubt on your inauspicious wife for your death"
Veer was taking deep breath in order to survive for some more minutes to just see Nandini before he dies but it was getting difficult for him.
"I had other plans for today but nevertheless seeing you die like this is also fun. Let's see you tomorrow in your funeral when everyone will be blaming your wife and I would be her saviour then make her life more hell later on."
He winked at him wearing his coat having no mercy for his own blood
Nandini on other side wanted to surprise her husband so she came from the back door coincidentally, She was about to run but stop when she heard some voices.
She slightly opened the door and peeked through it. At first she wasn't able to understand it but gasped after looking at Veer who was coughing blood and a man in in black coat was jerking him away from himself.
She looked carefully at his black coat and black shoes which he wore but was unable to glance at his face.
Her heart was thumping and mind got blocked at what to do in a situation like this,
She saw that man going out of her house and soon she went to her husband who was gasping for breath
"Prince"
She yelled having tears in her eyes to watch her husband like this
"Nandini run away from here"
Veer spoke taking deep breath but blood came out from his mouth
Nandini's heart sank watching his condition, she just left for some time and here her husband was on verge to die
"Prince come with me, let's go to Rane Uncle, he would give you his herbal medicine and make you fine"
She spoke giving him and herself some hope
"Nandini , love my time has come"
He spoke with utter difficulty because he was now scared to leave her in this cruel world alone but as another minute passed he could feel his heartbeat getting slow
"No please don't say this, please help"
She started crying now, yelling loudly for someone to hear her and save her Prince
"Please Prince come with me, how can you leave me like this? You promised to care for me all my life? "
She sobbed taking her prince in his arms fearing for his life. She wasn't able to think straight, She was feeling her life snatching away looking at him in pain.
Veer carressed her cheeks lovingly trying his best to keep his eyes open for some more minutes. But as he saw her sobbing loudly keeping him close to her, his eyes shed it's last tears seeing her falling so weak for him.
"I didn't knew someone would cry so much for me the day I will die but the fact that someone is you is making my last moments difficult Nandini"
He thought in his mind as blood oozed from his nose
"I'm sorry Nandini, but run away after I die, they all will make your life difficult if you stay here. Run away far from here and live your life"
He spoke breathing long so he could be able to speak his final goodbye to her
"I won't, I will die with you My Prince, I won't live"
She said in her hiccups being more miserable as she watched him taking long breaths. She was adamant if he dies she would die with him
"No you won't, Live for me this life so in our next life we would reunite again. I will meet you again my love I Promise"
She was becoming inconsolable as he was speaking these words.
She was regretting to leave him alone when he was asking her not to leave. She was holding herself guilty for this situation
"Nandini, I-I."
He couldn't say anymore as he left his last breath taking her name
"Prince, Prince, My prince"
She kept nudging him but all he was a lifeless body lying in her arms.
"Prince wake up, you were saying something My prince"
She yelled taking his name crying her heart out.
She clutched his body tightly and cried as hard and loudly as she could.
The pain, suffering was only because of her love which she did to him dyingly. This pain wasn't letting her understand that her Prince has left her alone who promised to stay with her till eternity
"Prince, How will I live without you? "
She murmured closing her eyes feeling his cold body against hers.
Her Prince left her all alone in the cruel world 💔
The next day arrived,
Where all the villagers and town people had gathered for the funeral for the late prince.
Nandini was sitting in a corner having no emotions just looking at Veer's body with her dry eyes. She was feeling nothing.
"She did it again, she ate her husband and became a widow in a span if 4 months"
One lady whispered to other ladies who were eyeing at Nandini disgustingly.
She was able to hear their remarks on her but she had no energy to think of anything.
For a minute she was considering herself unlucky, if he didn't married her this day won't have come in their lives.
Soon King and Queen entered with Mayank.
Queen hugged her lifeless son and started crying hard for the loss of her only son
"My son"
She cried harder watching her son go from the world.
King too sat beside queen and started sobbing looking at his only son died
"She killed my son"
Queen whispered wiping her tears, looking at Nandini and running towards her
"You killed my son you omnious bitch"
Queen slapped Nandini making her stand and slapped her more and more
Nandini took all her harsh words and beating but remain unaffected
"Queen, you can't do this"
Mayank came in between them and held Nandini in his arms.
Nandini wasn't in senses but the touch of other man made her feel restless so she quietly removed his hands from her arms
"I will make sure you die you little witch, You killed my only son. I curse you will also have a painful death as my son"
Nandini also wished her curse could come true and she would die going to her prince
"We will be giving her painful death Queen, let's burn her alive with Prince Veer"
One of older lady suggested to which everyone nodded
"Yes My heart will get in peace when I will hear you begging for life but only death will reach you"
Queen smiled evily wiping her tears.
Nandini didn't reacted just looked at Veer's body which wasn't even 1 day old and the whole people had already decided to end her life too with him. She knew why exactly he said to run away from here as they all will be only satisfied by seeing her dead
"My queen we cannot do this, we cannot give her this easy death when my brother died so painfully, I got to knew she gave him poison mixing in tea and we would just give her easy death, I want to torture her every day so she beg to us to kill her"
Mayank spoke making everyone agree to his words while Nandini just wondered they couldn't get more crueler than this
But soon her eyes went to Mayank shoes and her all sense started working, It was the same shoes she saw last night, whose legs Veer was clutching,
And today how come Mayank could tell Veer died due to poison in tea nobody knows this fact that he drank tea, everyone just knew about poison but not tea.
She looked at Mayank who was having different expressions some sort of inner happiness not like some sadness of loosing his brother.
"Let's lock her up in castle cell, And I would personally torture this woman"
Mayank spoke gritting his teeth while Nandini's eyes turned red in anger.
Because of this man she has turned into widow within night and here he is living and breathing just fine.
She was all ready to be burn alive with Veer but not now,
She has got a reason to live. The reason to kill Mayank with her own hands till then she won't die
Stewards came to take her and she silently did as they asked her before going she glanced a final look at her Prince shedding painful tear
"I promise on your body My Prince I would not give you murderer easy death"
She said to herself as the forced her to move ahead taking her to castle.
3 days went by,
Mayank had kept her in a private cell and would send her food and water regularly.
But here Nandini was planning to escape from the cell so she could go with her plan of killing Mayank
When she was all ready to escape from the lock, Steward of Mayank came and unlocked the cell taking her to Mayank's room
She was taken inside in Mayank's bedroom where oy Mayank was seated in his night gown
"What a privilege to have the most beautiful woman in my room, Remember once you declined for a dance with me for Veer and now you are standing her as me being your last hope"
Mayank spoke sipping his red wine eyeing her disgustingly
Whereas Nandini recalled of the painful memory where Veer asked her for the dance
"What do you mean? "
Nandini spoke not falling weak in front if her enemy
"I mean the deal is simple, Be my courtesan for sometime till I'm satisfied in return I would spare your life. I promise this as a king"
He spoke coming close to her
Her breath hitched seeing him walking close while she fisted her hands hearing his words.
It was her husband's position which this man was misusing for his own desires
"What do you say Nandini, I'm sure there should be someone who would fill up Veer's place in your life"
He spoke having no shame in eyes just lust for her.
Nandini closed her eyes and remembered the last moments of Veer, that moment gave her courage to take this harsh step of her life once again.
Mayank was about to kiss her when she grabbed the nearby bottle and smashed it on his head with forceful bang.
"Did you forgot I was once arrested for killing someone who physically assaulted me or you thought you are an exception"
She laughed loudly taking another glass and throwing in his direction but he dodged perfectly while holding his bleeding head
"Have you gone mad Nandini? Guards"
He yelled for guards but he forgot he was the one who let guards leave their places as his plan was to force Nandini so he didn't wanted any witness for it but his plan backfire him
"Call them, I bet now you would be begging me for your life Fake King"
She took advantage of his bleeding head and kicked him on his stomach so he was on ground.
She sat on his stomach taking another glass in her hand but he started throwing his hands at her and in that fist she got scratches too on her face but she was fast enough to smash another glass on his face to which he yelped in pain
"Yell, Yell as much as you want, then only My Prince's soul would get peace"
She spoke glaring at him with evil smile on her face.
This was the first time she had ever spoken so boldly with anyone. She wasn't just normal Nandini who was scared of anyone, She was vengeful woman who wanted revenge of her dead husband
"How does the pain feel King Mayank? Can you imagine what My Prince had to go through when you mixed poison in his tea"
She got up grabbing the wooden chair and throwing in his direction
He was again on ground from the sudden move.
All his hands, face and head was bleeding due to glass pieces went inside his skin
"I will make sure to kill you like Veer you crazy wench"
Mayank spoke removing glass pieces from his hand and running to her direction but she breathed heavily before cutting his throat with the glass piece she had.
He stood like that when that piece slided through his neck making blood smash on her face.
"Do you know how painful must it be for my Prince when he gasped for air. Now feel the pain slowly death will approach you till then gasp for your breath"
Nandini spoke shivering watching him loosing blood like a running water.
She remembered how Veer coughed blood before dying and how he was having problem for a normal breath.
She took a sharp breath feeling her heart finally at peace by looking at Mayank who was gasping for air and asking Nandini for help. She was relieved that she didn't let his filthy hands touch her body.
Soon after a minute due to loss of blood he breathed his last to which Nandini smiled in tears. The one who was the reason of her Prince death is also dead.
Though this wasn't her work but no one would beleive her and finally she completed her oath.
Days passed,
Nandini had escaped the castle since that incident and went far away from the town where no one could find her.
Not soon enough the whole town suffered from earthquake in which most people lost their lives including King, Queen and Nandini's family. Making the town as cursed one!
Nandini later on started living with a different rich family where she did every household chores and wasn't even considered as inauspicious or anything just a normal servant which she was satisfied of!
She didn't wanted a life anymore after the empty space caused by Veer but she had to live this life in his memories as it was his last wish.
2 years passed but Nandini's life was same as before
It was yet another day in Nandini's life where she was seated near the garden looking at the black clouds wondering of Veer.
As soon as it started raining she just sat there getting drench in rain
"Will you dance for me on our next meet? "
She could hear Veer's voice ringing in her ears from their first meet where he claimed to have fallen in love with her at first sight
Rain seems to bring happiness and colour to many people life but to Nandini it only brought Veer's memories with it. She didn't hated rain but she didn't had the heart to dance in rain like before
She looked at the sky from where the rain was pouring on her face
"My Prince,
It's been 2 years and 6 months since you left me alone in this world but I don't feel time passing. It felt like yesterday when you married me and left me alone in this selfish world.
You have left a void in my heart My Prince which is impossible to fill with any kind of happiness. Yet you told me to live life happily when I can't even smile without you (holds back her tears)
Sometimes I wonder My Prince What would have happened if I didn't went to market that day? Would things have changed? Would you be alive? Sometimes I blame myself for your death that if I really wouldn't had met you then all the things happened in your life specially me wouldn't had happened then maybe you would be alive My love.
(Looking at rain drops falling slowly on grass)
But then again it was our entangled destiny which led us meet again and again until we became one.
