Groaning, Seiji rolled over, not wanting to wake up.

“Well look at that, you’re not dead.” Toga grinned as she looked up from her seat, watching in amusement as Seiji forced their eyes open.

“W-What? Where am I?” Seiji looked around the white rooms in confusion. This was definitely not the bar.

“Welcome to the hospital! I saved you!” Toga swung her opens open, not bothered by the chain that wrapped around her wrist and kept her chained to her own bed.

“I don’t understand. Why are you here? What happened?”

“Shiggy saved you, or rather, refused to kill you. I brought you here and the heroes chained me to the bed. Super rude, especially when I helped them.”

Seiji had many questions. “Why did they chain you to the bed?”

Laughing awkwardly, Toga rubbed the back of her neck. “Well, I hadn’t eaten a proper meal in over two weeks at that point and just skated a good 50 miles in about two hours so they were a little worried I would die on them but they don’t trust me enough to leave without precaution.” Toga tapped the chain as she huffed. “Still super rude!”

“You helped the heroes?”

“Yep, but to be fair, I was trying to save Zuku and Toshi more than anything else.” Toga laughed as she leaned back. “Did you feel like this when you turned yourself in? I don’t know what they’re going to do with me but… I don’t think it's good.” Toga turned over, pretending to go to sleep as Seiji stared up at the ceiling, biting their tongue in deep thought.

~~~
“Evening Mineta,” Seiji nodded to the purple head who was sitting on the nearby chair. He held a book in his hand, a soft smile on his face.
“Evening Seiji. How are you feeling?”
“Like someone drained every drop of blood from my body,” Seiji smirked as Mineta snorted. Over the time they had been trapped in that cell together, Seiji had slowly converted Mineta to their sense of humour. “How is he?” Seiji nodded at the only other person in the room.
Mineta sighed, putting down his book as he shook his head. “He’s conscious and seems to understand what's happening but whatever the LOV did to him damaged his speech production. He can only get a few words out if he really concentrates and usually they’re focusing on the same thing.”
“Izuku?”
Nodding, Mineta walked across the room, pulling the blanket to cover all of Shinso. “Other than that, the new quirk he has is playing havoc with his body heat making him freezing cold. They’re trying to keep it under control but it's proving difficult.”
Seiji hummed, glancing over Shinso. The poor boy had even larger bags under his eyes. His arms were wrapped around a small bear with a green coloured heart wishing him better health. He looked so fragile.
“Hello, my defiant hostage!” Toga waved excitedly, making Seiji stare in shock.
“Evening semi pleasant kidnapper,” Mineta greeted, used to Toga’s daily walks. The hero guarding Toga sighed heavily, having already expressed his deep wish for them to not greet each other like that.
“Awe, what a cute bear.”
Mineta smiled, nodding. “Akuto. Shinso’s become quite attached to him.”
Toga grinned, chuckling at the name. “So cute. I’m glad Zuku was here.” Toga smiled at the fluffy bear, confusing the others.
“No, he wasn’t?” Mineta raised an eyebrow, curiously looking at Shinso as Toga snorted.
“Sure. Well, I just wanted to say bye and thank you. Because of what you two said, Nezu has offered me a place at UA. I’ll be seeing you two around school soon.” Toga laughed as she winked at Seiji before stepping back. “I’m going to miss you, Toshi.” Toga ruffled his hair making Shinso blink awake sleepily.
“T-T-To-” Shinso coughed as Toga softened, she sat on his bed, wrapping an arm around him.
“Stay safe out there, Toshi.” She gently let go, standing back up and nodding to her guard. “Goodbye.”
“Wait,” Seiji jumped up, biting her tongue. “Why are you acting like you’re never going to see him again? He’s going to recover and be back at UA in no time.”
Toga shook her head, chuckling a little. “His recovery is not the thing I doubt. Bye Toshi!” Toga grinned, suddenly cheering up as she waved dramatically.
Shinso hugged his bear tighter, stumbling over his word. “B-Bye.”
~~~

Swirling, the smoke appeared in the hospital room, letting the figure walk in. Smiling, Izuku knelt in front of Shinso’s bed, shaking him carefully. “Toshi? Wake up.”

Shinso slowly woke, lifting his head as he spotted Izuku, instantly perking up in delight. “Zu-Zuku!” Shinso jumped up, wrapping his arms around Izuku’s neck and burying himself into Izuku’s shoulder.

“It’s okay. I’m here now.” Izuku ran his fingers through Shinso’s hair, whispering soothingly in his ear. “We need to go.” Izuku pulled away when Shinso refused to let go, keeping a tight grip on Izuku. “Toshi?”

“To-togeth-gether?”

Nodding, Izuku pulled Shinso off the bed, helping him stay standing. “Together,” he repeated, smiling as he noticed the bear on the bed. “You got my gift?”

Shinso followed Izuku’s gaze, carefully picking up the bear and hugging it with a shy nod.

“Good. Is there anything else you want to bring? We already got the stuff from your house.” Pausing, Shinso hummed, a glint twinkling in his eyes as he nodded again. “Okay. What is it?”

“Y-You?” Shinso blushed as he spoke, hiding behind his bear. Izuku squeaked as the word processed in his head. “D-Don’t ha-h… Don’t ha-ave-” Shinso couldn’t finish when Izuku laughed, shaking his head.

“Toshi… you don’t have to ask for me, I’m yours already.”

Shinso’s blush worsened as he lowered his head. Izuku chuckled, bringing Shinso into a hug and letting him hide his face in his shoulder. “M-Mine?”

Humming, Izuku rubbed circles onto Shinso’s back. “Yours.”

“Y-Yo-yours.”

Snorting, Izuku shook his head. “No, I’m yours so you say ‘mine.’”

Shinso frowned as he pulled away, huffing in annoyance as he struggled to find the words, pointing at Izuku. ‘M-Mine.” He pulled back his hand, pointing at himself. “Y-You-yours.”

“Toshi… Yeah, you’re mine.”

Grinning, Shinso smiled in pride at being able to convey what was happening in his head. “M-Mine l-lo-love.” Once more, the blush on Shinso’s cheeks deepened as Izuku raised his eyebrow in a smirk.

“Damn, Mina was really on the nail. You’re getting so bold.” Izuku grinned cheekily as Shinso groaned in embarrassment, hiding in Izuku’s shoulder once more. Izuku wrapped his arms around Shinso, leaning into his ear as he lowered his voice. “I love you too, Toshi.”

Shinso pulled away in shock, his eyes widening in surprise. “Lo-love? M-Mine?”

“Yes, you own my heart, Toshi. My heart, my soul, my mind. Everything that is mine is yours and I will protect you to the day I die.” Izuku never took his eyes off Shinso throughout the whole confession, watching the red deepen again and again before Shinso frowned.

Shaking his head, Shinso hugged Izuku. “N-No… No d-de-eath. M-Mine fo-fore-ever.”

Izuku sighed softly. “Okay. I’m yours, forever.”

Shinso hummed in delight as the smoke that had stayed hidden in the corner finally cleared his throat. “While I do not wish to disturb this- quite frankly- overdue confession, if we don’t leave now, we won’t have an option to do so.”

Izuku nodded, pulling away from Shinso as he linked their fingers together. “Ready to go?” Shinso nodded as Izuku pulled him to the smoke.

Footsteps echoed from outside as the night guards returned from their break, frowning as they realised the lights were on.

Spinning to face Shinso, Izuku grinned, standing on his tippy-toes as he leaned in, stopping a little away from Shinso. Shinso tilted his head, stroking Izuku’s cheek. “Pre-pretty.” Leaning down, Shinso closed the gap between the two, wrapping his arms around Izuku’s waist. Izuku wrapped his arms around Shinso’s neck, opening his eyes as the guards burst through the door.

Lifting up his middle finger, Izuku closed his eyes, the smoke encasing them and bringing them far away. Pulling away from Shinso, Izuku grinned at him, laughing as he blushed again.

Whistling, Naoki clapped from his place on the crate. “Finally!”

Dabi sat beside him, a look in his eyes that told Izuku he was not getting out of this without some merciless teasing. Ami giggled from beside Shigaraki who rolled his eyes, a small mutter about having too many couples in the room. Kurogiri floated behind Shigaraki's head, letting Izuku grab Shinso and lead him further into the safe house.

Here, no one could touch them. Here, they were safe. This was their family and no one could hurt them ever again.
