Chapter one
My life started out as normal. I went to school like everyone else did and everyone and everything was fine until the disease came out and everything changed
Two days ago
Hailey: Max did you go into my room again?
Max: Ew
Hailey: Max
Max: Why would I go into your room
Hailey: Because you always go into my room for no reason
Max: Why do you think I went into your room?
Hailey: Because my stuff is missing
Max: And you think I took it?
Hailey: Ugh mom Max took my money
Max: She's lying mom. I don't want your stupid money Hailey
Hailey: I know you took my twenty
Jill: Can you two please stop fighting, Hailey I'll give you the twenty
Hailey: If I find out you took my money you're dead
Max: Whatever
Jill: Here you go
Hailey: Thanks mom...Also I was wondering
Jill: Is this about some boy? Or you wanting to go out?
Hailey: There is this boy in my chemistry class and I was wondering if I could hang out with him after dinner
Jill: Not on a school night and you know that
Hailey: Mom please I know it's a school night but my grades are really good and I've been studying really really hard
Jill: I know you're grades are really good but it's still a school night
Max: Ha! You can't go
Hailey: Shut up max
Jill: My final answer is no now go wash up and set the table. Your dad will be home soon
Hailey: Ok
*She goes upstairs to wash her hands and goes back downstairs to set the table*
Hank: Hey kiddos
Max: Yo dad
Hailey: Hey dad
Hank: What's for dinner honey?
Jill: Chicken with a side of mash potatoes and greens
Hank: Sounds delicious let me go wash up and I'll be down in a minute
Max: Hailey don't be sad about not seeing your boyfriend
Hailey: Can you just shut up
Max: I was trying to cheer you up asshole
Hank: Alright let's eat
Jill: How was work honey?
Hank: It was good I got a promotion and they fired the new guy because they caught him and Jim stealing money
Jill: Really? I always knew Jim was no good. Stealing money from a very good company. They should have fired him a long time ago
Hank: Hailey you barely touched your food. Is something wrong kiddo?
Max: Mom won't let her see her boyfriend
Hailey: He's not my boyfriend Max! Just stay out of it
Jill: Honey it's a school night plus you should be focusing on studying
Hank: Your mother's right you need to get into a good college
Hailey: Whatever
*After dinner is over she does the dishes while Max plays on his xbox*
Hailey: You know you could help me with the dishes
Max: I know but I won't
Hailey: One day Max your gonna wish you help me with these
Max: Hailey shut up your messing up my flow here
*She rolls her eyes and goes upstairs and brushes her teeth*
Jill: Hailey don't be upset before you go to sleep. It will ruin your sleep
Hailey: Mom why do I always have to study and do work while Max gets to sit and do nothing. It's so not fair. You treat him like the golden child while I get no type of special treatment
Jill: Well Max is older than you and... well he's not as smart as you are, we only want the best for you
Hailey: And what if he doesn't wanna go to college??
Jill: Well then we'll have that talk with him now go to your room and study
Hailey: Alright
*She goes into her room and changes her clothes and she calls her best friend*
Hailey: Hana
Hana: Hey girl...So how's it going with Dylan???
Hailey: My mom won't even let me go because she said it was a school night
Hana: That's so messed up you've been trying to hang out with Dylan for months, all of that planning we did wasted
Hailey: I know and she let's Max do whatever he wants because he's older and I'm smarter than him
Hana: My parents are strict but not like yours. They still let me do things and hang out with my friends
Hailey: Anyways......I'm free tomorrow you wanna go to that new ice cream shop
Hana: Oh my god yes! I thought you would never ask
Hailey: I'll see you tomorrow
Hana: Its a date then
Hailey: Bye Hana
*She puts her book down and gets in her bed and she turns on the tv*
The reporter: Hi I'm Shana with the news and I'm telling everyone to stay inside and don't leave your house. Scientist say there is a very lethal and contagious disease that will kill you in an instant. These studies behind me show that this disease is spreading rapidly
*She turns the tv off and runs downstairs*
Hailey: Mom, Dad did you hear on the news?!
Jill: What about news honey?
Hailey: The news lady said don't go outside
Jill: Why not honey?
Hailey: Mom and dad don't go outside you could die
Hank: Hailey what are you talking about? Are you feeling ok? Let me check your temperature
Max: She's going crazy again
Jill: Is this because I said no to you for hanging out with that boy?
Hailey: Ugh no! Just follow me
*She grabs their hands and and runs upstairs and turns on her tv*
The reporter: The scientist has named the disease F.I.N.N. In other words If you have any plans cancel them because if you go outside and get in close contact with F.I.N.N you will start to foam at the mouth, your eyes will bleed, and your skin will start to melt. 200 people have already died and no knows how or why this is happening. Everyone please stay safe and don't go outside any skin contact with someone who has F.I.N.N you will die...Now onto the weather
Jill: Oh my god!
Hank: I'm gonna call the city council about this
Hailey: Dylan!! He was out I need to call him
*She grabs her phone and calls Dylan*
The voicebox: Hey this is Dylan......Just kidding I'm busy right now so leave me a message and I might call you back
Hailey: He's not answering!
Jill: Maybe his phone died or he's asleep
Hailey: This is all my fault I knew I shouldn't have asked him to go out with me
Jill: Honey it's not your fault you didn't know that this disease was coming
Max: Hailey don't cry over some lame ass dude. There are much bigger things to worry about
Jill: Max now is not the time, Hailey just lay down
Hailey: But how will I know if he's ok or not??!
Jill: Just don't worry about it and low down we can figure this out later
*She lays down in her bed*
Jill: Here watch the tv...We will figure this all out in th morning
*She closes her eyes and thinks*
I hope Dylan is ok and he's just at home sleeping...Why is this happening now??....Everything was fine two hours ago
Hank: Welp no one picked up
Jill: Honey what are we gonna do? she's scared and if I would've known there was going to be some lethal disease I would've went to the store
Hank: I don't know we can't come in contact with people. How are we going to know if they have it or not
Max: It's not airborne so we can just go. We just have to be careful
Hank: That might work but I don't know. We're going to have to be really careful
Jill: But what about Hailey?
Max: I'll go with you dad I don't want Hailey to worry anymore
Jill: I don't know about this Hank
Max: Relax we'll be back and we'll be ok
Hank: Max go start the car
Max: K
*He runs downstairs*
Jill: Hank I don't like this
Hank: Would you rather us starve
Jill: No but it's not worth losing you
Hank: We're gonna be fine just focus on Hailey right now
Jill: Please be safe Hank...and protect Max please
*He kisses her on her forehead*
Hank: We are going to be fine
Jill: Just hurry back please for my sake and for Hailey's
*Hank walks downstairs and gets into the car*
Hank: Let's get this over with
*Hank starts driving to the store*
Max: It's so dark and ghostly out here
Hank: We just need to get in and get out as quick as possible
Max: Relax pops I'm gonna be fine
*They arrive to the store*
Hank: This is the closest store to us so let's hurry and get home
Max: Someone is in there dad
Hank: I see that let's go
*They get out the car and walk into the store*
Alan: Hurry up and close the door!
*He closes the door*
Alan: What do you want?
Hank: We just need some food that's all
Alan: Well hurry up then
Hank: Max grab a basket
*He grabs a basket*
Hank: Go grab some cans and some food that will last us
*Max starts putting food into the basket*
Alan: I thought everyone here was dead I was knocking on doors but no one answered
Hank: You aren't worried about anyone infected getting near you?
Alan: No. When my time comes my time comes. Who knows I might even be immune to it
*He chuckles to himself*
Hank: Really? Why do you think that?
Alan: Well when I heard the news I went and I ran outside to stop my girlfriend from leaving she started foaming at the mouth and she just collapsed. I didn't know what to do and I thought I was next but nothing happened
Hank: You don't feel anything off with your body or anything
Alan: No I feel fine
*Max walks back with a full basket*
Max: Done
Hank: How much for all of this
Alan: fifty dollars
*Hanks hands him fifty dollars and hey walk out and they start putting the food into their car*
Hank: Let's hurry up
Amanda: Someone help me please
Max: Amanda? What are you doing out here? It's not safe you need to get to safety
Amanda: Max!! I'm glad I found you I need help. My mom...something is happening to her
Max: Like what?
Amanda: I don't know. She's foming at the mouth...Please help me!
Hank: I'm sorry but we can't help
Amanda: Please I'll do anything! I'm scared and I don't know what to do!
Hank: I'm sorry to say this but it's too late for your mom and probably for you
*They get into the car*
Max: Dad we have to help her
Hank: If we help her we could possibly catch that disease. I'm not risking it
Hailey: Mom?
Jill: I'm right here sweetie
Hailey: Where is dad and Max?
Jill: They are downstairs
