Monday

Felix walked up to the transparent glass door of the poster shop. Putting his hand on the knob, he thrust open the door with ease. Felix jumped slightly at the sound of a small bell ringing from above him. It hadn’t been there the last time he had come to the small shop, Sheba must have just made the addition. He figured he would have heard the familiar voice of his feline friend within seconds of crossing the threshold, but to Felix’s surprise, the store was silent. He walked through the displays of smaller posters and calendars until he made his way to the register. He shook his head briefly with a smile as he saw Sheba with her feet propped up on the counter napping in her chair.

It wasn't unlike her to do this, this was a usual occurrence for her to sleep on the job. He crossed his arms, deciding if he should wake his dear friend or leave and briefly set up his tent before coming back. Hopefully choosing the second option meant that Sheba would be awake by the time he returned. The second option seemed more appetizing to Felix. He once again weaved through the displays and carefully opened the door, thinking if he could open it slow enough the bell atop it wouldn’t chime. Felix was mistaken however, the bell chimed quite loudly and continued to hit the door, making it swing back and forth continuously. When it had finally stopped, he looked back to see if he had disturbed his friend or not. He hadn’t.

With a quiet sigh, Felix made his way out of the shop and walked over to the side of the shop. Sheba wouldn’t mind if he set his tent up next to it, right? He figured she wouldn’t. He lifted his yellow satchel over his head and opened it slightly. Like magic, a fully framed tent propelled itself from inside the small bag and landed in front of Felix. After all, it was magic. He set the front tent flap aside and proceeded to sit down inside. He reached his arm down into the satchel and pulled from it, a pillow and a dark colored sleeping bag. Placing them on the right most side of the tent and placing the satchel back over his shoulder, Felix shifted himself so that he was sitting on top of the sleeping bag. He wondered how long he should wait before he attempted to go back into the shop. Would Sheba have woken up by then?

Just as he finished his thought, both tent flaps were pulled outward. The action surprised Felix, but he quickly calmed himself when he saw Sheba holding both flaps. “Oh did I wake you with the bell? I tried  not to, heh.” Felix rubbed the back of his head.

“Eh, no I was already awake.” She dropped the flaps and sat down inside the tent, “I would’ve said something to ya, but I didn’t realize it was you until you walked out the door.” She crossed her legs and placed her hand on her cheek, smiling brightly in her own mischievous fashion. Sheba let out a small giggle, encouraging Felix to do the same.

“So, what brings you back to town, stranger?” Sheba asked, Felix had always admired her ongoing enthusiasm.

“I just got back from the mountain, a lot happened that I really want to tell you about!” Felix smiled, leaning forward as if he was gossiping and wanting absolutely no one else to hear what he had to say.
“Oh? How’d you get up on the mountain? Did that tall rabbit guy drag you up there for a date?” She teased, elbowing a now blushing Felix in the shoulder.

He waved his hands in front of him rapidly, “What!? No, no, nothing of the sort!” He laughed it off, knowing something like that was only real in his mind. He shook his head and continued, “I actually joined a few new friends on the end of their quest the past few days.” He looked back towards the entrance of the tent, wondering if Bendy and Boris as well as Cuphead and Mugman were on their ways back to their homes by now. He certainly hoped they were.

“What kind of quest?” Sheba pushed, “Is it something I’m gonna hear about in the paper or am I getting all the juicy details right now?” She chuckled, the latter of which being most likely.

“Well, I figured I’d come and tell you since the paper wouldn’t necessarily have all the details, only really because I didn’t feel it was my story to tell.” Sheba raised an eyebrow but didn’t bother to question her friend.

“Then tell me if you want to so badly.” Sheba said.

“Y’all were actually able to fix the thing?” Sheba asked, she had gotten quite intrigued as Felix had begun to explain the whole few day venture.

“Mhm, it was mostly Bendy and Boris.” Felix admitted, “They are mechanics, after all.” He could do nothing but give the boys all the credit, all Felix had really done during the quest was offer them all assistants in a time of need. He felt bad that he wasn’t of much help but he knew that he was a valued member of the expedition. Felix laughed to himself upon thinking of the fun he had had with the group of four. He hoped that as time went on, Cuphead and Bendy would learn to get along better than they had the past days. Boris and Mugman didn’t seem to have that problem as they were quite fond of each other by now.

“Wait, a minute.” Sheba said suddenly, catching Felix off guard. “What does this Bendy kid and his brother look like, again?” She asked. Felix didn’t mind answering any of his friend’s questions.

“Oh, well.” Felix put his hand to his face as he tried to think of a way to describe the brothers, “Bendy is the smaller of two while he is the oldest. He’s always wearing a pair of goggles on his head.”  Sheba furrowed her eyebrows, it seemed as if she was familiar with Bendy and just needed reassurance. Felix continued, “Boris is the taller, but younger one. The scarf he wears is tied into a bow in the back, which I find quite adorable.” It was the truth, the bow was one of the little things that were admirable about Boris as it showed his child-like wonder perfectly.

“That’s it!” Sheba yelled, snapping her fingers in triumph. “I’ve seen those two running about town recently, makes more sense as to why now.” Felix was surprised that Sheba had seen them before and he had not. Since he had been around her most of the time before he joined the questers, he wondered if maybe Boris and Bendy had arrived in town before Felix. He had only been in town a day or two before he ran into them, after all. All was quiet in the tent for a minute but the air was dense and getting increasingly hotter from their rapid breaths after the heated conversation.

“So,” Sheba said in her mischievous tone once more.

“So, what?” Felix questioned, wanting to know her new fascination.

“You and the bunny guy, eh? Talk to him recently or no?” She said, smiling with satisfaction as Felix’s face became a deep shade of pink. He had in fact talked to Oswald when they had first come down from the mountain. He believed that Oswald and his friends were having a picnic in the park, of course they had brought his children along as well. Felix couldn’t remember what had brought the questers to the park, but he was glad to have had another confrontation with Oswald. He seemed to be a nice man, a father with unbelievably sweet children. It was always adorable the way the small rabbits would pounce onto him, he would have to get them all a hat of their own before they stopped stealing the ones he wore. This had been the third or second time he had lost his hat to them, Felix was always more than happy to give it, though.

“I actually have talked to him recently.” Felix’s blush had faded to a shade that was barely noticeable to the naked eye, but he could not deny that it was still very present.

“Oh, have you?” Sheba teased her friend, seeing that she succeeded in flustering him. His blush had now returned full force but had shifted from pink to a dark red.

“W-well, yes.” Felix stuttered, taking off his hat and proceeding to fan himself with the item. “After we had made our way back into town, we had stopped at the park and Mr. Oswald and his friends just so happened to be there.” He had looked away momentarily but found that, when he looked back, Sheba was fully invested in his stories. Just as she always had been, although normally they were tales of Felix’s adventures. However, this time it just so happened that they were talking of his newest love interest. “We were able to have a nice conversation,” He continued, his nervous smile never faltering. “I was going to ask him if we could, maybe, set a time aside to, um.” Felix found that he couldn’t think of the right word to describe it.

“Hang out.” Sheba finished his sentence for him.

“Yes, exactly that!” Felix cheered. He leaned forward a bit before leaning back, “I wasn’t able to do that though, I ended up getting interrupted.”

“Then just go find him and ask, what’s the problem with that?” Sheba pushed.

“I wouldn’t know where to search for him,” Felix shrunk back further into the tent, “I know his address, but who’s to say he’d be there. I mean-”

“You know where this guy lives?” Sheba pointed out, looking at her friend with a rather concerned expression. “How did you manage that, Fels?”

“I had asked his brother the first time we met.” Felix said, “I figured I should apologize to him for what happened, as he seemed rather upset.”

“Okay,” Sheba said skeptically, “Then why don’t you just go to his house and ask him. It seems pretty obvious that that’s your answer.” Sheba finally allowed herself to calm her excitement. Felix also looked skeptical of the decision. “Do you want me to come with you?” Sheba grinned, letting a small chuckle escape her throat.

“That would be appreciated, heh.” Felix laughed.
