Steve's P.O.V.
As soon as they heard those two words, they went blank. I had meant well, waiting to tell them the story. I figured we could protect them, so it didn't matter. I tried to bring them back to reality, but it was no use. If I triggered a Hydra memory, Bucky might be able to help. I glanced at Tony, then picked up y/n, taking them to Bucky's room. Their face didn't change the walk there. Tony trailed behind me like a lost, frightened child. I knocked twice on the door, and Bucky opened it, rubbing his eyes with his metal arm. I could tell I had woken him up and felt a twinge of guilt knowing he rarely slept well. I sat y/n down; their back propped up by the back of a chair, next to Bucky's bed.
Buck's P.O.V.
I wake up to Steve, knocking on my door. I open it, confused as hell as to why he's carrying y/n in his arms, with Tony, whose face is filled with concern, trailing behind him. When he sits y/n on the plastic Captain America chair I got last Christmas, I get a better look at them. They have a blank look on their face, one I know all too well from my time at Hydra.
