"Well. Time to go Sam."
Sam looked at Amelia when the latter stood up. Tumingin siya sa clock na nasa pader at 30 minutes na lang bago ang meeting nito sa dalawang business man. Malapit lang naman ang pupuntahan nila. So she knew that there's no need to hurry. Pero mukhang ang motto ni Amelia sa buhay ay, early bird gets the worm.
Tapos na itong mag make up at mukhang handang handa na talaga sa meeting. Kanina lang ay hindi ito makatingin sa kanya dahil ito naman ang pinag mamasdan niya. But seeing that Amelia became more gorgeous ay iniwas niya ang tingin niya. Her heart beating against her rib cage.
Sam put a hand to it to stop it from beating hard. Maybe she just got too much coffee to stay awake. That's all. Bakit naman siya magagandahan dito?
Sam shook her head. Maybe she's having a withdrawal from party. Lalake kasi ang madalas mag approach sa kanya but this time. Ang boss niya lang ang lagi niyang nakikita.
Nag wisik ito ng pabango bago ito tuluyang umalis sa table nito. Sam got a wiff of Amelia's perfume nang dumaan ito sa harap niya. She inhaled deeply.
Damn it! Bakit ang bango nito?
She caught Amelia's smirk nang dumaan ito sa harap niya.
Napailing na lang si Sam. Kung ipinapakita nitong mas better ito sa kanya sa lahat ng pagkakataon. She might have to prove her boss wrong.
Sam grabbed her bag and other documents na kailangan nila sa meeting. Sinundan niya ito ng lumabas ito ng hallway.
"First of all. You have to intimidate men when you have a meeting with them."
Kumunot ang noo niya sa sinabi nito. "Why?"
"Because business is a man's world, Sam." Lumingon ito sa kanya and Sam saw a flicker of sadness mixed with irritation in Amelia's eyes. "Natatapakan ang ego nila. Lalo na kapag babae ang kaharap. Someone who has beauty and brains to boot."
Sam couldn't help the chuckle that made its way to her throat. "Isn't that too much of a boast?"
Amelia looked at her slightly offended pero saglit lang natigilan ito at napatawa.
"Yes. I think that's boasting but who would lift my ego? Certainly not you, Sam."
Sam didn't utter a word for that. Ngumiti lang siya dito. But in her mind. Amelia had proven enough that she was really a diamond worth keeping. Christian made the huge mistake of cheating on his wife.
Amelia is a formidable force. She wasn't just beautiful. She's intelligent and confident.
Kung siya ang lalake. She would keep Amelia to herself. She will make time for her kahit na sobrang busy ito sa trabaho. She'll do whatever it takes to keep this woman but she was no man and Amelia doesn't need a man. Is she?
Malaki ang confidence nito sa sarili and she admire Amelia for that.
Sam looked behind Amelia. Matambok ang pisngi ng pwet nito. It was a sexy ass for sure and she couldn't help but chuckle.
"Sam?"
"Yes, boss?" Sam's voice became high pitched. She cleared her throat. "May nakalimutan ka ba sa taas, boss?"
Sam looked at the back of the hallway para makaiwas sa tingin nito.
"No. Sabayan mo ako sa pag lalakad. Hindi pa tapos ang lessons mo."
Bago pa makahuma si Sam. Amelia hook her arms on hers and they walked side by side.
Naiilang naman na bahagya niyang inilayo ang sarili dito. Sa sobrang lapit nila ay nalulunod siya sa amoy nito. It was a fresh smell of watermelon and strawberries.
Sam held her breath. Masyado itong malapit!
"Sam. A business woman should always look glamorous. Medyo oily ang mukha mo. Sa susunod. Gusto kong lagyan mo yan ng powder, ok?" Amelia tapped her face.
Kumunot naman ang noo ni Sam. Kung iniinsulto na naman siya nito, well it worked. Sam felt a prickle of pain in her chest but she ignored it.
Mukhang nabasa nito sa mga mata niya ang lumarawan na sakit. Umawang ang labi nito.
"It wasn't an insult, Samantha." Amelia cupped her face.
Sam turned away. Bigla siyang nailang sa hawak nito. Amelia's hands are warm and it was making her heart beat crazy. Hindi niya maintindihan habang nakatingin siya sa mga mata nito.
"Then what is it?"
"Maganda ka, Samantha. But as a business woman. We should always be presentable." Amelia smiled. "Makikita mo kung ano ang sinasabi ko mamaya."
Binitawan nito ang mukha niya. And Sam missed Amelia's warm hands. Yumuko siya dahil sa papuri nito. Hindi siya sanay na may nag sasabi nun sa kanya. And why does she like Amelia's full pronounciation of her name?
It was breathy and sensual.
Sam closed her eyes tightly. What is happening to her?
"Let's go?" Untag nito sa kanya nang makalabas na sila ng building.
A blue company car was waiting for them. Amelia went inside the backseat of the car na ipinagtaka ni Sam. Ngumiti lang sa kanya ang driver ng company car.
"Boss? Bakit diyan ka nakaupo. Aren't you supposed to be seating on the passenger seat?"
"Gusto ko dito, Sam." Amelia then lifted her left eyebrow. "May reklamo ka ba, Samantha?"
There it was again. That smooth rolling of her name in Amelia's tongue. Bakit kapag ito ang nag salita ng pangalan niya. It was sensual and alluring? Na para bang natural lang dito na bigkasin ang pangalan niya?
"Not at all, boss."
Pumasok si Sam sa likod ng kotse. But Amelia didn't move a little bit. Kaunting espasyo lang ang itinira nito sa pwesto niya.
Sam cleared her throat. Pero parang walang narinig ang boss niya. Nakangiti pa nitong tinapik ang katabing upuan.
Sam had no choice but to seat on the small space. Amelia is power tripping again? Pagbibigyan niya na lang ito. She has no energy to deal with Amelia's games anymore. But she can't help but inhale deeply nang muli niyang maamoy ang pabango nito.
A ghost of a smile appeared again on Amelia's face. Tumingin ito sa bintana nang umandar na ang sasakyan paalis ng RC2 building.

Sam followed Amelia nang umibis ito ng sasakyan.
Amelia must have known the place or she frequently invited businessman to the said restaurant. Deri-deritso lang ito.
Kung hindi lang dahil sa heels nito. Sam wouldn't be able to keep up dahil sa laki ng mga hakbang nito. Kanina pa din sila pinag titinginan ng ibang tao dahil ang lakas ng presensiya nito.
Amelia had her chin up and her head held high. She was also walking briskly with poised.
Sam shook her head. Kung hindi niya lang alam na ito din ang babaeng nagpapasakit ng ulo niya kanina sa biyahe ay siguradong maninibago siya dito. But Amelia is a complex woman. The moment she was confident, the next she couldn't look directly at Sam. Ngayon naman ay confident ito.
Hindi niya tuloy maiwasang mapangiti.
Amelia opened the door to a function room.
Gulat naman na napatingin sa kanila ang dalawang lalake doon. Ang isa ay typical na Chinese at ang isa naman ay Amerikano. They two men looked Amelia up and down. Bago ang mga ito tumingin sa mukha ng boss niya.
Amelia was right. These men will look at your clothes first before they decide to respect you.
"Mrs. Montenegro." The American shook Amelia's hands. Sumunod dito ang Chinese na nag alcohol pagkatapos kamayan si Amelia.
Napasimangot si Sam. If there was someone who looked dirty it was Mr Hao, not Amelia.
Sam put the documents in front of them. Tiningnan siya ni Amelia at ngumiti ito.
"Thanks, Sam."
"Oh. Where's Bridgette?" The American man looked at her up and down. Bago nito ibinaling ang tingin kay Amelia.
"Bridgette is due from her pregnancy. So she filed for a vacation leave. Sam will be assisting me." Amelia glanced at her. Then back to the two men. "Shall we start the meeting now?"
"Well. I'm going to cut to the chase. Do you have Mr Montenegro with you?" Mr Hao leaned in on the table and took the folders barely glancing at them and put it back down. "I don't believe that a woman could take this job seriously."
Inangilan ni Sam ang lalake. She was standing at the table near Amelia ng sabihin iyon ng Chinese.
Chauvinistic pig! Sam felt Amelia's hands squeeze her hands.
Sam looked at Amelia pero hindi ito nakatingin sa kanya. Iniwas na lang ni Sam ang tingin sa lalakeng Chinese. Her fist gripped tightly on the folders she was holding.
"Well. Mr Hao. I am the owner of the RC2 and my husband is not here." Amelia lifted her chin and looked at Mr Hao directly. "Besides. I am the CEO of my own company. Not my husband. If you don't want to work with a woman like me. You should find a hotel that could give you a 10% discount on all of your soaps provided for our hotels. We could always find another company to have business with."
Ito ba ang ibig sabihin ni Amelia? Minamaliit ito ng ibang mga lalake that's why Amelia had to be confident and showed that she has the guts for this business. Hindi lang pag p-presinta ang sarili sa pag hahanda para makipag usap sa mga ganitong klase ng tao. Kailangan din pala meron kang confidence at bravado.
No wonder, Amelia was the one fronting the RC2 not Christian. She couldn't imagine Christian being this cunning.
Unti unting umangat ang labi ni Sam. She really liked Amelia Montenegro's gut.
