You, Sonic, and Amy sat on a couple of beach chairs in the front of Sonic's shack. Right in front of the warm, cool beach. You and Sonic shared an umbrella while Amy had her own to block away the sun. Close to you three, there were Knuckles and Stick playing a nice small game of volleyball.
"Ah, there's nothing like a lazy day on the beach." Sonic sighed. "You can say that again.." You agree, adjusting your black sunglasses over your eyes.
"It's nice to breathe in that beautiful saltwater air and relax. " Stick's smiled. "For the first time, I feel totally stress-free..." She finished with a sigh.
"Hey, guys!" You heard the cheery voice of Tail's, making you take your glasses off and place them over your head, and also caused Sticks to shriek.
Looking up at the yellow fox, you saw him push something covered in brown cloth.
"I just perfected my most brilliant invention yet!" Tail's smiles, proud of what he has created. "Meet U.T! The Universal Translator! Designed to translate any language into our own!' Pulling off the sheet, Tail's revealed a small robot.
You, Sonic, Amy, Knuckles, and Stick's give Tail's an unimpressed glance. "Allow me to demonstrate!" He chirped.
Tail's pointed up to a nearby tree, to see a bunch of baby birds with their mothers in a nest. The mother feeding her babies. U.T scanned the baby birds when they chirped and turned back to the four.
"The way you pre-chew your food is repulsive." He spoke.
"Hey!" Knuckles smiles, now intrigued. "It works!"
"Didn't see that one coming" U.T spoke again.
"Uhm- it's still talking?" Knuckles said.
"I thought this thing just translated birds."
"Since what your saying doesn't need to be translated, U.T is translating it into what you really mean" Tail's explained.
"I didn't intend for it to do that. But I will gladly accept full credit." U.T translated.
"That's great, Tail's!" Amy chirped until U.T translated her words.
"Pretty lame."
That's- not what I was thinking at all.." Amy chuckles, standing up from the sunchair.
"Man, I am totally busted" U.T spoke, and Amy began to sweat. "Tail's, I think it may need some more work.."
"If that thing doesn't shut its metal trap I think I might die!"
You roll your eyes. "Of course, it needs more work.."
"How dumb can this girl get.."
You darted your head towards U.T. then to Amy you glared at you. "Th-That's not what I meant."
"This thing is gonna get me busted."
"Shut up!" You yell at the bot.
"This thing needs to just die."
You let out a groan, sitting back on the chair. "Tail's, if this thing keeps roaming around reading people's minds, who know what kind of trouble it could cause. It may infect people's privacy." You explained.
"I don't want this thing to know what I do before bed." You flushed after hearing U.T translate your thoughts. The gang looked at you skeptically, making you look away with a red face.
"Wait- this thing read minds?" Stick's asked, making all eyes go to her now.
"Wait- this thing read minds?" U.T replied.
"GET IT OUT OF MY HEAD!" she shrieked.
"Get it out of my head."
Stick's got out her boomerang and was about to tackle the bot before Knuckles grabbed her. "Now now, calm down, Sticks." He assured. "Take it easy whack-job!" U.T spoke.
"Hey!" She squeaked.
"I am displeased."
"Don't be offended Sticks, Knuckles didn't mean to .. think that.." Sonic told the badger.
"He's not the sharpest tool in that shed." U.T translated once more, which made Knuckles growl at Sonic.
"Tails, I think it's better if you shut that thing off, we don't want it to reveal anything too sensitive.." Amy spoke, and that's when U.T began to translate her words.
"Shut that thing off before it tells Sonic that I loov-" Tails shut U.T down before it could continue. "Uh- what was it saying?" Sonic asked, looking over to Amy, who laughed. "Nothing! Nothing important! Heh-"

Other than the incident with U.T the day went ok, but you guys never saw Tails after that. You thought he needed some time alone, you were kinda just throwing stuff at the bot he made. It was kinda cute if you're being honest, so none of you questioned about him being gone. At least for now.
You were at Sonic's shack, being the lazy ass you are, you stayed back while the others went to Meh Burger. On their way back, you never noticed Sonic's presence behind you. That was until he tackles you to the floor as you were seated on his hammock.
"What the hel-" You stopped your yelping when you see Sonic.
"What are you doing?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow when he noticed you eyeing your phone. The backup one that is.
"Nothing!" You squeaked,
"Really?" He asked.
You only nod in response, blushing at the position he had you. He sat on your waist. He's legs over your own, and his hands were right beside your head. He smirked as he reached for the phone that was in your hand by his legs. You noticed and began to squirm your phone back under your back, that was the way he couldn't get a hold of your phone.
Wait, why does he even want my freaking phone?!
You stuck your tongue out at your friend, putting that thought in the back of your mind when you were able to stuff the phone under your back. "Nah nah! You can't get it- AHGA!" As you celebrate your victory, you felt a pair of gloves scratch your lower ribs.
You cackle at the sudden feeling. You thrashed under the blue hedgehog, begging to escape from the tickles. As you thrashed, Sonic stuck out his tongue, with an intense focus to turn you onto your stomach to show your back.
Due to your laughter, you didn't notice yourself start to turn onto your stomach. Once you were fully on your stomach, Sonic stopped his assault and grabbed the phone out of your hand.
"No!" You squeaked out a laugh, trying to reach for it, but Sonic dashed to the other side of the room. He looked at your screen and immediately let out a snort.
"You read these??" He showed you the screen to see Wattpad pages of x reader stories. "That's what you do before you sleep??" He laughed. "Your such a dork!" He threw you back his phone, jumping into his hammock, leaving you a blushing a mess, but mostly embarrassed.

The next day came by, and you were all playing a game of volleyball, just some good passing and bumping until Tail's came back with U.T. Your face grimaced at the sight of the robot. Crossing your arms.
"Okay, I know things got on the wrong foot yesterday-" Tail's began.
"Tail's" Sonic cut him off, "I think it would be best if you just turn U.T off."
"Amy Rose is a big dope!" U.T translated. Sonic's face dropped.
"Oh! So now, that's, what your thinking!" Amy growled at the hedgehog. "What? Of course not!" Sonic protested.
"But not as big as dope as Y/N"
Your eyes darted to Sonic, your face filled with anger.
"Her hair stinks! What does she shampoo with, yogurt from the back of the fridge?"
"I didn't say that! He did!" Sonic shouted, pointing to U.T.
"Sure you didn't." Knuckles said
"I'm stupid." U.T translated
"Hey! I'm not stupid!
"And, um, I'm ugly too! But not as ugly as Sticks"
"Hey!" Sticks glared up at Knuckles, tackling him to the ground/
"Get off me!" Knuckles shouted.
"I can't believe you'd think that!" You yelled at Sonic.
"Oh, so now your gonna trust some buckets of bolts over me!?"
"Well, that thing translates people's thoughts, so why wouldn't I believe it!" You snapped, crossing your arms.
"So, wait? Who called me stupid? I called me stupid?" Knuckles asked.
"Don't you see? This is what it wants us to do! The robo-apocalypse is nigh!!" Sticks cried, only to have all just stare at her blankly, until going back to all their bickering
After all the bickering from you and the others, Tails looked over at U.T, who suddenly turned very quiet. "I know my friends wouldn't think horrible things about them. Maybe U.T's malfunctioning?" Tails asked as he took out a screwdriver and opened up U.T's compartment.
(I still need to figure out what it's called ;-;)
And revealed a voice box. "What the heck? I didn't install a remote speaker!" Tail's cried out, soon seeing an Eggman logo on the box. He ripped the speaker out of the bot and tried to get his friend's attention.
"You guys! Stop! We've been duped! Eggman swiped U.T and replaced him with this imposter!"
You all stopped what you were doing, which you were currently pulling on Sonic's blue quills until you stared at Tail's, and so did all the others hearing the thud come from Stick's when Knuckles dropped her.
"We have to rescue the real U.T!" Tail's cried, and was about to go run to save his robot until he noticed his friends, including you not coming. Just standing there. "Don't you guys wanna get U.T back?" Asked Tails.
"Thing is, bud, that robot of yours just makes us fight all the time.." Sonic said.
"It's evil I tell ya!" Sticks shrieked.
Tails soon looked at you, with his puppy dog eyes. You just look at him with a sad face, but you agreed with Sonic and slowly shook your head at Tails.
"Sorry, buddy.."
"Fine.." He began. ",..I see how it is. I'll go get U.T back myself!" And with that, the fox was gone.

It's been an hour since Tail left, and he hasn't returned. You began to get worried until Amy spoke up. "Hey, here comes Tails missing robot!"
You ran up to U.T but couldn't see Tails anywhere. "We found him!" Knuckles smiles getting up from the sunchair he sat in. "When you see Tails, tell him we've been looking for him for a long time!" He finished.
"Or we could just recycle the thing and take a blood oath to never tell a soul." Sticks spoke frantically, and all again as usual, just stared at her. "What? Just spitballin'; here
"U.T do you know where Tails is?" You asked, kneeling down to U.T. As if to answer, U.T made a humming noise, turning to face the opposite of the gang where soon a hologram from Tails came from U.T and he said.
"Hey, gang. Its Tails. I'm going to stay with Eggman. No need to rescue me, I am 100% safe and happy."
Then it ended. U.T began to bleep again and turned to face the gain once more.
"I snuck into Eggman's lair to save my robot. It was awesome. You should have seen me. Anyway, I need you to come to rescue me now, sorry for the inconvenience."
"Wow, U.T really came in handy." Knuckles said. "Maybe it's not as dumb an invention as we thought." You added. "Yeah, but we should still smash it....just to be safe." Stick's said, making you frown at the badger.
"No time for that! We gotta go save Tails!"

Sticks yeets U.T over the ocean of Eggman's island.
"Sorry, Tails had to be done."
