another july evening,
your fingers wrapped
around my wrist;
the summer breeze
as delicate as your skin;
i rest my head on your shoulder
you smile ─ like we could
graffiti the sky, in hues of fuchsia
and lilac and orange;
i couldn't speak,
even though my heart was painted
in every shade of vehemence;
celestial eyes that read ecstasy
once again, the words have
died on my lips
twice, as our worlds collide.
