Error then looked at both sides before pointing at himself in confusion. "Yes, you, sweetie."
"But... My name's... Error..." Now Error was more confused now.
CQ blinked. ,,I never named my child Eos...? I think?"
The woman blinked, ruffling through her own, pink hair.
"Do you... Not remember...?" The doctor asked in confusion.
"You named them Eos, it's even in their birth certificate." Dr. Maraya worriedly said.
"Really? I'm sorry but it kinda sounds a bit farfetched, as he's named Error..." Asy trailed off.
"CQ, do you have Error's birth certificate?" Comyet curiously asked, glancing at CQ.
,,Uhm... I don't have it here right now-" CQ answered.
,,I put all the important stuff about Geno, Error and Fresh into a red folder, which is in a box of my privat stuff- But I don't- I don't really uhm... remember Error's birth... ahehehe... He... he..."
The nervous and confused laughter awkwardly died down.
"You don't?" Asy blinked in concern. "Why not?"
Asy added while the Doctor hummed lightly.
"Well, the hospital still has the original Birth Certificate, as you never actually claimed it..."
Dr. Maraya spoke and Comyet blinked. "Can... Can we see?"
'What's a birth certificate?' Error couldn't help but wonder.
,,It's uhh... practically a proof of your existence."
Nightmare answered. ,,On it's written is your name and sex and stuff like this."
,,I... never claimed it? Huh..." CQ hummed confused, before looking at Asy.
,,Uhm... there was an accident. I don't really remember what happened and no one told me, but I woke up in the hospital, wasn't pregnant anymore and couldn't remember anything that happened around a month ago before I woke up. So, uhh, yeahhhh... Error's day of birth is completely blank, there is absolutely nothing."
"I see... Well, you were admitted into the hospital a few days after you gave birth..."
Dr. Maraya spoke while Error couldn't help but giggle a bit.
"Guess th-there was an error in my birth."
He doesn't know why he felt obligated to say that, but it was perfect.
And seeing Asy choke on air and laugh made him giggle.
Comyet just coughing a bit and bursting into small giggles while the Dr. Glanced at Error in surprise, but smiled a bit before turning to CQ.
"If you never claimed it, then there's a chance that you were given a fake one... The reason why, I don't know." The doctor spoke.
The pink haired human cackled a quiet laugh at the pun, before looking confused at Ms. Maraya.
,,There is no reason why anyone would change the name of a newborn, right? I mean, why would anyone?" The woman shook her head.
Also, Geno had come to them, not wanting to be alone and had decided to take Comyets hand, because of... unknown reasons. Maybe he just liked her.
"I'm quite confused of that too, Ms. CQ." The Dr. Said before blinking when she noticed a nurse walking in.
She walked over and whispered something to her. The nurse nodded and quickly rushed out.
"I told my nurse to get the certificate... Now, I'll go and check on your child's vitals."
The Dr. Smiled gently before walking over towards Fresh and then carefullt doing her check up.
Error watching with curiosity and concern.
CQ nodded slightly. The woman patted Error calmingly.
She herself was just confused and wondering about what happened.
,,This is quite interesting..." Nightmare hummed.
'I'm just confused... Also, did you notice that Ms. Dr. Used they? I'm not two people.'
Error added in confusion, watching the doctor just carefully check stuff on her clipboard.
,,Oh yeah, now that you're saying it... Weird. And, they doesn't need to mean that you're two people, Ruru. It can also mean that you're non-binary, meaning you're neither girl nor boy."
Nightmare answered humming.
'Non... Binary...?' That was the first time he's heard of the word, weird.
'And more than one genders can exist?'
"I'm back, Dr. Maraya." The nurse came back with a clean brown envelope, handing it to the Dr.
"Thank you sweetie." The doctor smiled and then opened the envelope and pulled out a paper, she then walked over to CQ.
"Here's Eos' actual birth certificate."
,,Yup. There are many genders, actually. People go with that, which they find the most comfortable to be talked to. To example, there are also people that were assigned male at birth and then decided to be females when they're older. Or vice versa. Then there are people that want gender neutral pronounces, because they don't want to be male or female. And... that's pretty much the three basics, I guess." Nightmare explained to Error.
CQ took carefully the birth certificate, looking at the other adults, before looking slowly at the paper.
,,Birth Certificate..." She mumbled quietly the text while reading. Like in movies.
,,This document acknowledges that Eos Queen was born to Crayon Queen at the Hospital... Weight... Length... Date... Signature.. Sex. ... Why is there an X?"
'Oh...' Error was quite fascinated now.
'That's cool! But what does that have to do with the Doctor calling me they...?'
Error wondered before blinking when CQ began to read the certificate, blinking in confusion at the x.
"Your child is androgynous, Ms. CQ." The doctor replied to CQ's confusion and Comyet gasped.
"Wait- So Error- Er... Eos? Has no gender?"
"No Ma'am, Eos Queen was born without a gender when they came out of Ms. CQ.
It should explain why their skeletal structure looks neither male nor female, as even despite being skeletons, being born biologically a male or a female differs in their structures still."
The Dr. explained and Comyet couldn't help but gasp excitedly.
"Oh my stars! An Androgynous baby!" Comyet couldn't help but squeal while Asy blinked.
"I- Wow." Asy glanced at Error and chuckled a bit.
"Huh?" Honestly, Error... Eos? Was just confused by all of this.
,,...That. The doctor calls you they because you were born as a they." Nightmare answered, sounding quite curious.
Meanwhile, CQ stared at the birth certificate, then at the doctor and then at Error/Eos, whatever.
,,I have... so many questions right now." She said honestly.
,,How can losing the memory for a short time make that much... damage? Damage. And who in their right mind would sneak into my house, find my important stuff, put a wrong birth certificate in it - with the signature of some doctor, mind you - and change the name and gender of a f... baby? Because I swear to god, if I find them..."
Oh. OH. Was CQ angry? It seemed like it.
Geno was just confused and looked up at the doctor.
,,So... Error is not my little brother?" He asked confused.
"Am I not?" Error looked at Geno. A bit sadly though.
"What? Oh no no, they're still your little brother, young one... And that wasn't the case Ms. CQ, your child's birth certificate has never left this hospital, meaning, when you and your child got discharged, there's a high chance that someone else gave you a false birth certificate and got you to leave with them before we could give you the real one." The doctor said sadly.
"We never actually finished checking up on your child before you were suddenly discharged."
Dr. Maraya then glanced at Error/Eos. "So there's quite a few things we were never able to check on lil' Eos."
"Being called Eos is weird... Can... Can I be called Error still...?"
Error shyly fiddled with his... Their? Thumbs, the Dr. Sighed softly, she figured this would happen.
"Whatever you're more comfortable with, sweetie."
CQ looked at Error and sighed. She quietly whispered something to herself and took a deep breath in and out.
,,What was there, that needed to be checked?"
She asked then, in a way to calm tone. Or maybe she was just tired.
"Their SOUL is one of them... The reason why he has glitches, we mostly deducted it as Pixlexia, as it's a really rare case but we didn't have a thorough investigation, and there's the factor with one of his eyelights being white, when usually, both eyelights have to be the same."
The doctor spoke, glancing at Geno for a bit.
"And it appears that there wasn't enough thorough checking on your first born as well... Same with your youngest."
The Dr. frowned while Asy then thought for a bit.
"I think the reason why Geno and Fresh went unchecked is because of lack of money... Right?"
Asy whispered, glancing at CQ in confusion, then at the Dr. who nodded a bit.
CQ nodded to, looking at Asy. ,,Geno... wasn't even born in the hospital."
She mumbled to him. ,,I wasn't- Back then I was still... you know. Out there."
Geno was looking at the Doctor and tilted his head.
,,What do people even check after babies come?" He asked curiously.
"To make sure that the babies don't have health problems hun." The doctor softly spoke.
"To make sure that there's no more hurt Gen Gen."
Error attempted from what he could understand, scooching closer to Geno before looking at Fresh and then carefully holding his hand in worry before glitching a bit at the touch, he didn't let it phase him while the doctor just watched in concern.
Geno nodded understanding. ,,Is it so that they can help the babies then with their hurts?"
He asked then curiously, coughing slightly.
"Yes little one, you are correct." Dr. Maraya smiled gently before glancing at CQ.
"If you have time, now that your children are here, would you like me to check on them too?"
Dr. Maraya softly asked. "It'll be helpful for you in the long run, Ms. CQ."
CQ looked at Error and Geno, before nodding. ,,Alright."
She answered and looked back at Dr. Maraya. ,,I guess it would be the best choice."
Dr. Maraya nodded lightly. "Alright... Also, don't worry about expenses, as we have three choices for you. We can have the hospital cover the payment and you can pay it in installments whenever you can, have your employer pay in full and you can just work for them until you can give back the pay, or you can pay in full time."
Dr. Maraya spoke, tilting her head lightly.
"I don't mind paying for you in full time, neither does Comyet." Asy spoke, glancing at CQ.
CQ stared at Asy. ,,E-eh?" She said, quite confused.
The woman rubbed her arm and stared at Asy, before looking at Dr. Maraya.
"This is still your choice in the end CQ." Comyet spoke softly while Asy ruffled CQ's hair.
Dr. Maraya just looking at CQ expectantly.
CQ looked at Dr. Maraya ,,Uhm-" She said and massaged lightly her temple.
,,I guess I- Uhm... I guess... I could-" The woman blinked and took a breath.
,,Uh... I will just- I will just pay in installments... If you- If you really don't mind. Not that I could pay differently, but still-"
She mumbled, avoiding eyecontact with Comyet or Asy.
"Are you sure CQ? We don't mind helping."
Comyet spoke softly while Asy then frowned a bit.
"Comyet's right, we don't mind helping at all hun."
In all honesty, Asy knew this was coming really.
CQ, stubborn as she was, shook her head. ,,No, no it's okay. I can do that."
She grinned lightly, before her grin dropped and she looked away.
"Okay..." Asy trailed off with a sigh while Comyet frowned, but nodded anyways.
