The rumble of the anxiety indulging collision shook the ground harsher than the Earthquakes did. From the sky to crashing through multiple buildings and finally getting smashed into concrete, (Y/n) (L/n) felt her arm snap in two. She screamed. It was a surprised scream. A, I-didn't-expect-this-shit-at-all-scream. She was met with void like eyes, hers brimmed with fiery rage in an instant. "You..." She cursed the patchwork man that was holding her down. "So nice to see you again...Let's have a real fight this time. Shall we? (Y/n)."
"I told you. It's (L/n) to you." The sixteen year old snapped her head forwards, head butting the man and slipping out of his pin. She shot up and out of the smoke cloud. 'Shit caught me off guard. Fuck.' She gripped her broken arm and aligned the parts back in place. "(Y/n)!!! Are you okay?!" She vibrated her arm and glanced at her classmates, "Peachy!" She worked it around after it healed while continuing. "He's here! Hero Course, fall back!!" The heroes below made way for the kids to get back. "Is (Y/n) going to fight with them?" She aimed her hand upward, bright blue lights shot out and exploded in the sky like fireworks.
"Hmm? What's this all about? I think you're aiming the wrong way, (Y/n)." They got brighter and brighter, blasting away the grey clouds formed by the villain. The latter himself levitated behind the girl. Her arms dropped back down. "Hey, bastard."
"That's not my name."
"Have you ever fought...with top heroes before? I mean. You fought Nanamin. But it seems like..." Figures appeared. Everywhere. From the ground, to the sky, all over the place. "...You haven't had a taste of someone with their life set in place to being and becoming a true hero." The air became hotter, there were sharp whiskings in the air, heavy scaled wings flapping, objects locking in place, shadows moving below, harsh stomping on the ground, the sound of mechanical whirring, cement liquifying, mist sneakily seeping out, fabric tearing, bodies cloning, speakers adjusting.
And capture tape being pulled.
"All the heroes..." Midoriya was practically crying in awe. "They're all here..." Sero looked around, familiar faces all over the place. Familiar sounds all over the place. Coming closer and closer like a march of doom, preparing. "All because of chain bitch...?" Bakugo wasn't impressed. He totally wasn't.
"You asked me if I was ready, Ryuk!" The blue haired girl's voice raised threateningly. She spun around to face the villain, he was still staring stoically as ever. "BUT ARE YOU?!" She laughed manically and disappeared. The first one to hit the villain was Endeavor. "For all the lives you've hurt, you'll pay, scum. Vanishing Fist!!" He was charged at and served with a powerful hook punch. Ryuk flew through the air and landed on the roof of a building, he grit his teeth and carefully brought his hand up to his face. It didn't hurt, but it was definitely annoying. His skin morphed and the small wound was gone.
"The number one hero, huh? Ganging up on me now, aren't you (Y/n)? I'm fighting you, NOT ANYONE ELS-!!" He was smacked onto the taller building next to him by a rough metal hand. The Hero Course heard their principal giggling from afar, the kids were enveloped in chills. "Damn, even principal Nezu?" Kendo shuddered. "See!! Our baby is amazing!" But it wasn't just Nezu, it was also Mei Hatsume. "I don't even know why we let you come! It's dangerous!" As well as Power Loader. "Where did (Y/n) go?" Kaibara fretted and multiple wondered the same thing.
"So that's the plan?" The three teachers nodded at the blue haired girl. She frowned but nodded back either way. "You can back out. We're not obligating you to be in the fight-" She cut her first adoptive father off. "This is my problem too. Not just you guys' problem," she reminded. "Recovery Girl told us to give you this." Midnight handed her a little glowing blue pill, the girl took and examined it in her palm. "What is it?" She looked back up at the trio. "Temporary power boost little lady. It's not like trigger or amplify, but it's a safe boost. Only use it when you need it, alright?"
She nodded at the loud blonde and looked back down at the pill. She could feel the people fighting from far away. They were where the Hero Course was. "It's only U.A that's here right? No sign from any other schools?" Aizawa shook his head, "They're on their way." She let out a deep breath from her mouth, "So I just have to wait for them to wear him down?" They nodded again and the four watched the battle closely. Hawks, Mirko, Fat-gum and Rock-Lock joined in, it was all coordinated. Whether it be one by one or all at the same time, the heroes were attacking relentlessly.
Sirens wailed from afar, smoke from other neighboring cities raised to the sky. There were barely any curses left to attack other heroes. All that was left were the low ranking ones since they were all swept up and taken out while the evacuation was taking place. The fight seemed to be going well, Ryuk wasn't getting a chance to fight back or do anything with his powers. "Something's off..." Midnight narrowed her eyes in suspicion. "Wait hold on-" Mic furrowed his eyebrows in but then raised then in realization. "Oh shit," the black and blue haired duo's eyes widened.
"Their attacks aren't working!! Aizawa, Mic!" She grabbed the two and shot towards the center of the chaos. "Fall back!!" Black Whip shot out of her hands and attached onto the heroes. "Huh?! For what?! We were on a roll!!" Rock-Lock complained but his mouth was wrapped up in capture tape, "Yeah-!" As well as Fat-Gum's. "You heroes...are so pesky!" Ryuk's eyes turned bloodshot as dark energy encased his hands and arms. Aizawa took initiative and took over for (Y/n), "Rumi!" Why? Mirko was caught by thick vines. And by thick, they meant like the length of three people put together width, thick.
She was dangling now, "It's fine! Get back!! We don't know what that guy's got up his sleeve!" The white haired woman shouted while multiple other heroes were caught by the vines. (Y/n) ground her teeth in annoyance, she safely threw the two men she was holding, onto a leveled platform and dropped to the ground. The heroes who weren't airborne were there as well, they were ready to rush over to her to see what to do next. But they were stopped by an electric net. "Hey, what's this?? Don't you need our help?!" She ignored their confused questions and shot back up into the sky.
'I don't need anyone getting in my way...' The Hero Course watching from afar stared in awe as the girl started glowing. Literally glowing. Like pulsating. Air pressure rolled off of her like sound waves as her electric nets pushed everyone back and away from the two. He went up in the sky, not noticing the girl behind him. She was hiding her presence with all her might as she flew farther and farther up into the sky. "What's she doing?? She can't do this alone...!"
"I don't think that's the case here..." Iida corrected and squinted his eyes when murky clouds formed above her extended right hand. Thunder rolled against the dark clouds with a heavy crescendo, making the villain look up with a distasteful crease of his eyebrows. In a split of half a second after he looked up, a bright blue light flashed his eyes. Burning them. The world was silenced as time slowed down. All that the heroes could see next was (Y/n) holding a rigid vivid blue lightning bolt. The same move she used last time against her father.
But this time, she was in control.
The stance she was in, the way she held the blazing weapon right to the chest of the villain. It was all intentional. The villain didn't see it coming, she was too fast for him. Out of reflex, his hand was replaced with a sharp sword. And it would've impaled the girl if she didn't let one of her hands go from the lightning bolt and grab it. She aimed it towards the sky and clenched her hand. The sword shattered and now his right arm was missing, followed by heavy electrocution and a deep squelch of ripping flesh. Ryuk gasped for air. That's when the heroes were confused about something.
Why was (Y/n) the only one that could cause serious harm to him?
"Damn baby carrot..." Mirko stared up after she kicked off the vine from her legs. "What are you?" The buzz under her fingers didn't cease. He was heaving for air. "You're not human." It was ironic for her to say that since people considered her not to be human. "You might have powers..." Her eyes glowed brighter along with the lightning branching in the sky, both heavily condescending. "But they're not quirks. You're not human."
"You're not even human anymore!!"
Her mind ticked with her fathers words.
Why were they coming up now?
"Oh how powerful you've gotten."
What's going on?
Ryuk gripped the lightning bolt impaling his body with fury and one hand. His fingers tinged red with the electricity burning his skin. But the lightning was tainting black as if ink was filling the bolt. The blue haired girls eyebrows raised, "Hm. Never seen that before. Nice tricks ya' got little magician." She punched the shit out of his face and sent him tumbling off the building. "You bitch-" Mid-way down, she appeared below and kicked him back up. Then she appeared above and stomped on his chest, making him slam his back into cement.
"So, tell me." Chains shot out of (Y/n)'s back and her cape was absorbed by her suit and created into the spider design on the back of her hero costume. The chains coming out her back slithered on the ground. And the chains coming out of her hands snatched Ryuk's wrist (only one wrist at the moment) and ankles. "What really are you?" A web of chains started to form. Seven more figures appeared on the rooftops. "Are those your friends (Y/n)? You sure do have a lot." The blank expression he had plastered on his face was aggravating, the teen wanted to slam it inwards.
"Y'know, we're more than just her friends. Alright?" Mikoto breathed out in annoyance as the seven dropped down behind the blue haired girl.
"They're-"
"We're-"
"The Seven Deadly Sins. You sure have taken after your father (Y/n). Does that mean...I should call you the Angel of Death?" The heroes winced when the girl's expressions twisted into utter disgust. "You never answered my question. What are you?"
"And that boy with the horns...Zero Two is it? You're feeling a little left out, huh?" The horned boy furrowed his eyebrows. "What are you talking about-"
"Eri, was it?"
(Y/n)'s hands ignited in rage, "Keep my darling's name out of your filthy mouth!"
"And hm...What happened with Aito? I didn't know you had a brother (Y/n)-chan, why didn't you tell me! I thought we were great friends."
Her eyes widened and then sharpened after, Aizawa's eyebrows raised. 'That isn't good...Now all of the other heroes now...Word'll get around quick.' Mirko and Hawks looked at each other in confusion, 'She has a brother? What?' "Oh my. Exposed your little secret now, did I? My apologies. But backtracking, Zero Zero Two. Aren't you feeling a little left out? I mean...thinking of it now, since when has anyone put you first? Above Eri, of course. You might be older but you definitely suffered the same tragedies that she did, so I wonder, doesn't it make you feel a little...sick?"
"That she's getting the special treatment you deserve as well, of course."
"How about you shut your damn mouth?"
Now that was odd. Ryuk didn't expect that, he expected the boy to enter a gloomy state or something. Humans worked that way, didn't they? Their silent sufferings get pointed out and they finally break down because of it. That's when people actually start treating them right, right? And even after that, they would still hold resentment for it, wouldn't they? "That may be the case sometimes...But I was lucky enough to have people around me that actually care about me. So you have no idea what you're talking, now let's end this once and for all!!"
"You heard him, didn'tcha?"
The electric nets were taken down and the bindings on the villain tightened with a clench of the blue haired girl's fists. "It's time." Aizawa muttered under his breath when Ryuk's eyes turned pure white. There was a compelling rumble in the ground as the chains holding the man snapped. 'Ah!' (Y/n) looked down at her hands with a pained scrunch of her nose. Blood completely stained her gloves. "Your hands..." She looked back up at the web of chains, the middle of it was destroyed and some of them hung loose while some links fell off. "You've been asking what I am this entire time..."
"But don't you know?" The clouds disappeared and the sun shined brighter than ever before. Setting the heat on the Earth in a rapid incline upwards. The heroes squinted their eyes and looked upwards. There was Ryuk, different. He didn't look the same as he did before, but rather, he had the purple patches of his skin turn gold and both eyes turned a rich glowing white. Not the plain white anymore. His hair levitated even though the feathery gold crown that appeared on his head blocked some of his dark locks from going up. His arm grew back and his injuries dissipated. The jewelry and rings he wore turned gold.
"What the hell..."
"Ugh!!! It's so hot!! Toooooo hot for this!"
"There must be something serious going on if the clouds went away all of a sudden."
"Maybe it's (Y/n)!!"
"But she can't really make clouds disappear unless they're her own. You know that right?"
The older trio of the orphanage shared friendly banter. No idea of what was going on only some miles ahead. "I feel like this is a really dumb idea..." Kouki pouted his lips and crossed his arms. "Loosen up a little! I bet all of the heroes are there, plus, we'll be fine. We have Jinko," Kenji pointed at the Arc Reactor with the plus sign on it. "Is it just me or is it getting hotter," Aito worried and tugged on his cardigan. "It is in fact getting hotter. Heat levels are going above 90." The trio's eyes bulged, it wasn't even summer, and not even close to spring.
"Is it because of a quirk or-?"
"No, it's not. It's all natural."
"What? That's crazy..."
"But there is an anomaly nearby...(Y/n) is close as well. Exactly 6.3 miles ahead."
The three narrowed their eyes straight ahead in sync. "It's this way!! Come on! The heroes are barely keeping up with him, even Azul is struggling!!" Aito quickly shoved his brothers in an empty alleyway while multiple other students and teachers from other hero schools sprinted towards the scene. "Please be okay (Y/n)..." Aito scrunched his eyebrows together at the boy with curly brown hair. 'Does he know her?' "We should hurry." The three quickly followed after the backup. 'We need to get the gear to (Y/n) as soon as possible.'
"Do you think...you're tough shit?"
"It seems like I am. Look at your little number one hero after all. Stuck in the painful haze of his past. Abusing children isn't very ideal now, is it?" Endeavor was down. Knocked out by his own guilty conscious. Hawks, no feathers left. Mirko, knocked out because of a flying metal beam. Edgeshot, let's just say he got a taste of what he did to Kurogiri in Kamino Ward. He was playing mind games with the top heroes. Mt.Lady, her body was sprawled on top of two destroyed buildings. Knocked out with a harsh bump on her forehead. Even some of the Seven Deadly Sins were down for the count.
The top heroes had been taken out one by one. It happened all too quick, who knew if some of them were even still alive. Kamui Woods seemed in the worst condition out of all of them. U.A's hero course, all years, were distracted by the newly unleashed curses. It was an all out fight. "Mic!" (Y/n) screamed and ripped another metal shard out of her leg. The blonde gave a hesitant look, she was straight in the way of the attack. She wouldn't make out out without bad damage. She gave a harsh look back and feedback screeched in everyone's ears.
A deep breath.
"YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!"
"Compact Smoke Screen!"
"Howitzer Impact!"
"Heartbeat Distortion!"
"Shoot Style!"
Extreme sound waves, hard smoke missiles, a deafening explosion, pulsating beats, and sharp air pressure sent the villain flying. In a flash, he was caught by a thick chain and whirled around. He slammed through multiple standing and half-demolished buildings.
"Aizawa!" The black haired man appeared with his scarf and his long hair floating. His yellow goggles on his face and his red eyes glowing behind them. "Just accept it already. It's over for you, Ryuk." The man looked up before getting slammed back down onto a pretty water fountain. "That's where you're wrong, Eraserhead." The injuries dissipated again. Maybe the thousandth time that day. "Even if I get defeated. I still have a surprise for you guys." And for the first time that day. His stoic expression changed. It changed into a taunting expression with a cheshire grin.
Danger Sense blared the most hurtful sensation in her mind, knocking her into a dizzy state of mind. All around her, heroes that stood perfectly fine before, had fallen to their knees in agony. "Wait wha...ts happen....ing..." Even (Y/n) (L/n) herself. White and black spots polluted her vision. "Hey...get away." She threw her hand to the side, motioning her classmates and the rest of the course to leave. "Leave now, Iida...." She pointed to the side and clutched her head. "Even if we wanted to..." They couldn't. Traumatizing memories resurfaced in their minds.
For Shoto, the childhood memories he's been burdened with all his life. Midoriya, the suffering he's endured because of his former quirkless-ness. Bakugo, the kidnapping. All of the students of the hero course has had to deal with harsh things in life, none in comparison to each other. But all can easily affect them if reminded about it once again. (Y/n) placed her hand to the burning in her chest. "Wow...You all are very sad kids. I pity you. Especially you (Y/n)." Ryuk held the girl's face in between his hands as a shockwave burst from under the ground.
Everyone. Every person in the vicinity, blasted back and knocked out. Everyone. It wasn't a small shockwave either. The city was demolished once more. This time, the planet that was on top of the media building had been split in two. But hold on, a plot twist. Five dry fingers were placed on Ryuk's face, his back was hit with blue fire, his legs—sliced off and his arms were compressed into small little marbles. "No touching." (Y/n) gasped and looked upwards. "Tomura?" Her eyes softened into puddles. "Don't look at me like that brat."
"I can't stand this guy. His stupid play things almost ruined our hideout."
"And get a grip. You look like shit, don't tell me this guy is actually beating you guys up?" Dabi pulled her up by the collar and she smiled a little bit. "Look around, what do you think?"
"Stop smiling, we're only helping because this is our city too," Spinner pointed at her. "We didn't do this purposely. We definitely did! We missed you so much!" Twice picked her up and spun her around. Then proceeded to drop her when Shigaraki gave him a stern look. "Friends with villains too? I can't say I'm too surprised (Y/n)." Toga and Mister Compress screeched when the limb-less and back-less villain turned his head to them. Dabi made a look of disgust. "What the hell."
"Wait watch out!" (Y/n) dashed forward and knocked the League out of the way, taking the attack head on. "The fight's over here!! Let's go!" The voices of other heroes caught the League's attention. "We have to go..!" Spinner started running, the League followed. All except Tomura, whom simply looked down at the scratched up sixteen year old. He sucked his teeth and kneeled down. "Even if you didn't choose us...and you still wouldn't. Even if we're still angry. Don't lose this fight." He gently opened her mouth and popped open a capsule with a thick red substance in it.
It sparkled with immediate contact with her mouth. "Hey! They're over here!" He rolled his eyes and villainously disappeared into the shadows. (Y/n)'s veins started glowing a bright blue. "Backup? Do these heroes ever run out of their own supply of themselves?" Junior landed next to the girl and shook her. "(Y/n)! Despiértate! No valles a estar muerta!" He made her sit up and patted her back. She coughed repeatedly and wiped her mouth. "Estoy bien. Cálmate. Let's go, we have to fight while the others help my friends."
"Wait-!"
The girl already shot into the sky again.
"Fifth Configuration!" A net surrounded the dark haired man and threw him up into the air. "Blazing rain!!" Flaming arrow shaped chains appeared in sky and rained from it. Hitting the villain head on when the met disappeared. You'll have to do better than that!" The ground started to rumble and the concrete started to crack. Wind picked up drastically, and the previous heat had dissipated into a cool breeze. The wind started to circle around the girl, along with rocks and other debris. 'Ow!!' The sharp ends scraped against her face and arms. She was picked up by the rapidly strengthening wind currents.
She was caught in a tornado of rubble and dirt. "Dammit!" She set forth a flurry of hot flames, only for them to be snuffed out by the dirt and wind. She scoffed in disbelief. "Fourth Configuration!" She yelled with gritted teeth as her hands spasmed with the electricity building up under her skin. "Agonizing Shock!!" Her hands burst out large and long sparks of electricity, they shot out of the tornado. But disappointingly, in due time, they were snuffed out by the non-conductive elements the tornado was made out of. "You struggling there (Y/n) (L/n)?!"
"How about I play with your little friends from last time while my powers play with you?!"
"No!!! You bastard!!" She cursed and tried to level herself with float, it wasn't working. None of it was. "Is that (Y/n)? Caught up in all of that?" Uraraka squinted with a fatigued look. One that all of the defeated heroes shared. "Get Kamui Woods help immediately!!" Was yelled close by. Everyone was in rough shape after that last shockwave. "Wait...(Y/n) needs our help..." Shoto strained out and Midoriya meekly nodded his head in agreement. "You kids are brave, but you have to look at the shape you guys' are in."
"It doesn't matter...!" Sero yelled and pushed away from the police officer. "We have to help her..." Shoji struggled to stand up. "Otherwise..." Mina pushed her legs up. "How can we call ourselves..." Kirishima hardened his fist and pushed himself upwards with it. "Heroes." Bakugo blasted off, all of class A followed his lead. The class had always looked up to (Y/n) since the beginning of the year. That much was obvious. But getting the chance to go through the things—whether they be good or bad—they went through with her, was definitely a blessing in disguise.
They loved her as much as she loved them.
So when the class blasted off to attack the villain, and they were caught by the wicked energy, they were hurting, that's when something in the atmosphere changed. (Y/n) couldn't hear anymore. She couldn't feel anymore, taste, smell, anymore. All she could see was the worn down imaginary line of her sanity start tearing farther than it did before. The only thing holding her together was her class. So what would happen if they got hurt again? The tornado burst into blue, completely demolished in time for (Y/n) to take the hit for her loved ones.
"(Y/N)!!!" The latters' screamed went she saw her own flesh tear as if it was made out of thinly soft dough. The world went quiet for the millionth time that day, the only sound that was heard was (Y/n)'s body dropping onto the pavement. She could hear again. But she didn't really like the sound of her loved ones distressed cries or painful wails, nor the sounds of their disbelief to the scene. What was going on? It felt like she was floating.
"Looks like you got a taste of your own medicine. Darling."
(Y/n) sent her blurry gaze to the side, feeling someone familiar. Her brother and his brothers. Aito, Kenji and Kouki. They looked a little pale, what was wrong? Aito looked absolutely shattered, numb beyond belief. What was wrong? She didn't want to see her brother with that look. Another shift of her gaze and she caught the chocolate eyes of Junior. He was falling to his knees, heartbroken. What was wrong? Seemed like something terrible happened. Then to her classmates, enraged, shocked, devastated. It was like her funeral all over again.
What was wrong?
Everything was wrong.
At U.A high, a necklace's light started to diminish. "What's wrong with my necklace..?" Eri palmed the charm and watched as the chain disintegrated into nothing. The lights of (Y/n)'s power was flickering on and off.
And back to the scene, (Y/n) took a breath in then realized she couldn't breathe. Finally, she looked back up at the villain, he started laughing. She doesn't think she's ever heard him laugh like that before. There was something in his hand, what was it? Looked nasty. Like an organ. She giggled in her mind until she finally felt the emptiness in her chest.
That's when she realized.
Then it wasn't funny anymore.
He launched another attack.
This time, she couldn't put herself in front of it, nor protect her loved ones from it. "YOU BASTARD!!" They were all so mad. It was understandable, was it? 'No...' But what angered everyone the most was the fact that they truly couldn't do anything to get revenge. Dark tendrils of energy all wrapped around everyone, sucking their life force. With the little of the latter that she had, she popped the blue pill in her mouth just as Zero Two sliced his palm opened and let his blood pour into her mouth. A little messily so some spilled on her face too. She took it like a normal pill and water.
Heavy thuds came closer, a loud distressed roar of a powerful animal and a quieter—but still threatening—hiss of an angered cat, she saw sparkles in her vision. With her hearing going in and out, (Y/n) could hear familiar sniffles. "Eri..." She croaked gently. The girl sobbed on her stomach. "Please be okay!" Her horn burst into energy, taking everyone by surprise. There was so much going on. And it was going on so fast, (Y/n) didn't recall how she got to the point of having her hand inside of Ryuk's chest and pushing his hand inside of hers.
"If you wanted my heart, you could've stolen it another way. Y'know?" She smiled. "You might be a god like you said...but you'll never amount to me." Both hands inside of their chests, holding hearts, Ryuk countered with, "And everyone here is competing for a love they won't receive. It was always so much easier for you to hurt, was it? It was a nice time...fighting with you. If you're still alive in some years...maybe i'll come back for another play date. Hope you like the surprise I left for you, darling." And with that, Ryuk's heart was ripped out of his chest and (Y/n)'s heart was placed back in hers.
She stood there, glowing the brighter than the sun could. With her head held high, her hair white and curling upwards with the static surround her. Lightning circling the sky above her, in a form similar to powerful ones she's taken before, but nothing could compare.
But even now. It was only the beginning.
Suddenly, the tide started going out.
Omnipotent.
(Of a deity) having unlimited power; able to do anything.
