I threw myself off the building to dodge the bullet that was supposed to hit me.
"We're not supposed to kill her idiot!" a female voice yelled.
I used my 3DMG to move as fast as I could in between the buildings. Who were those guys? Were they from the Central Division? And what was their special manoeuvre gear?
I quickly glanced behind me. I was being followed by the guy who shot earlier and a blond woman. I accelerated to loose them. My eyes were traveling from left to right, focused. I had to locate the cart Eren and Historia were in. I did not know the gravity of the situation. I needed to think of plan...
I landed on a roof and hid behind a chimney. I did not see any of my comrades. I wondered if Levi and the others were alright.
Suddenly, my instincts alerted me again. I bent down and avoided what seemed to be two red darts. Judging from what I saw and heard earlier, their goal was to capture me, alive. I could turn that to my advantage.
If only I had all six of my knives! I was going to be less effective with the only blade I got. I still could use my swords but that would mean that I should engage a close range combat. But an idea popped into my head: I could throw my swords' blades if necessary.
I had to move if I wanted to escape them. I took out one of my swords and laid a finger on the button that was supposed to realise the blade, ready to press it. The male opponent got out of his hiding and pointed his guns at me. I swung my arm and released my blade. It flew straight into his chest and his body fell from the roof. His partner did not even had the time to process my action that I was already gone.
I rapidly ran and jumped from one rooftop to another. I avoided other darts. The blond woman had endurance and was fast too. I used the same technique as before but she dodged my blade. However, my action slowed her down and I managed to loose her.
Then, I finally saw the cart I was searching for. Both Eren and Historia were laid down, asleep. So that was what the red darts did. I gasped when I saw Levi a few metres below me. He had blood on his face. I gritted my teeth, furious. How dared they hurt him...
Another man was aiming at my captain. I threw myself onto him and cut his throat. Levi looked up and his eyes widened when he saw me. I nodded to assure him that I was fine.
Then, I went for the conductor of the cart, who probably killed Keiji. I landed on her, slashed her throat and kicked her body off. I took control of the reins and glanced at the two sleeping teenagers. They seemed to be fine.
Other opponents tried to get to us but the members of my squad came to the rescue. However, one person got through: the blond woman. She landed behind me and pulled me by my hair. I grabbed her hand and squeezed it hard enough to almost break her fingers. She let go of me. I promptly got up and faced her.
The cart was bouncing and moving fast, no one was holding the reins. My opponent and I were both concentrating to stand still and not loose balance. I took my knife in my hand and got in a fighting stance. The woman smirked. I had to be careful not to step on Eren nor Historia.
I attacked her. She difficultly avoided my knife but I only managed to inflict her minimal cuts on her arms. She then blocked my blade with the barrel of her gun and strongly head-butted me. I fell on my back, right next to Historia. The blond woman climbed on top of me. She tried to restrain me but I was faster. I aimed the tip of my blade towards her throat and pushed as hard as I could. She blocked me and resisted.
I was truly impressed, she was a pretty strong opponent. Then, with both her hands, she twisted my wrist and turned my blade against me. I gritted my teeth: it was my turn to resist. I used my left hand to block my right arm. The woman used her entire body weight to put pressure on me.
"It's pointless to resist! Surrender already!" she yelled.
Sweat drops rolled down my forehead. I had one way out of this situation. I could stop struggling and direct my arm holding the knife on my left flank. If I was fast enough, I could avoid the blow and my blade would then hit the wooden floor of the cart. But then I remembered Historia. She was next to me. If I did that, she would end up getting stabbed. I could not let that happen.
The blond woman had had enough. She grunted and pushed harder. My arms started to shake, they could not hold on anymore. The blade sunk into my left shoulder. I screamed because of the pain but I did not let that destabilise me. I head-butted the woman in return. She moved backwards and brought her hand to her bleeding nose. I got on my feet and removed the blade from my shoulder. I let out a small cry and breathed heavily. I was still able to fight.
"I've got to admit, you are one badass bitch." she chuckled while wiping her nose.
I frowned. She pointed her gun at me. I knew a dart would not be coming out of this one. I threw myself onto her and grabbed the barrel in my hands to divert its aim. She pulled the trigger and the bullet hit my left thigh. I let out another scream and my left knee dropped to the floor. It was so damn painful! The blond woman punched me once in the face before I blocked her arms with both my hands.
I ignored the pain and gathered all my strength in my legs. I slowly stood up and started pushing her. My goal was to make her fall off the cart. My opponent looked at me, astonished. She was surprised I kept on resisting this hard despite my injuries.
My bleeding shoulder and leg were terribly painful. My whole body was aching. It was begging me to surrender. I could literally feel my energy escape from me but I had to keep on fighting. We could not lose Historia and Eren. I did not care about me, I had to save my comrades. I loudly grunted, fought her off and made her step back.
Suddenly, I heard a hissing sound. Two red darts landed in my right leg.
Fuck!
But I kept on pushing her away with my arms and continued gaining ground. She looked terrified. I forced her to step back even more. The sedative of the darts started to affect me. I shook my head in resistance and kept on advancing. I could not give up, she was almost at the edge!
I felt an uncomfortable pinching on my neck. My limbs suddenly went numb and I lost all my strength. Against my will, I stepped away from the woman. I touched my neck and removed the foreign object stuck in my skin. I was holding a dart in my hand. I looked at it and instantly fell on my knees. I could not fight anymore. My body was not responding. My vision became blurry and I abruptly fainted.
Levi's POV
I was fighting off and killing Kenny's men. Kenny... What the hell was he doing in the Military Police?!
I was trying to reach Eren and Historia when Y/N appeared and saved me from a man who was about to attack me. She then flew to the cart and took control of the reins. I had to cover her. The other members of our squad arrived on the scene.
"Don't think just act! Go for the kill! We need to protect the cart!" I ordered them.
They were all startled except for Mikasa, who did not hesitate to kill our enemies.
I ended some more men's lives. But more kept on coming. I frowned and looked around, searching for Kenny. Something told me that he could pop up again at any moment.
All of a sudden, I heard a scream. I turned my head and saw a blond woman on top of Y/N, who just got stabbed.
"Y/N!" I yelled.
I was about to reach her when, as I predicted, Kenny got in my way. He bumped into me and pushed me away from the cart.
"Tch!"
"Oi Levi! Are you displaying emotions now? You've gotten soft boy!" he mocked me.
I grunted, furious. I went in to attack him but he dodged and fired another bullet at me. I hid behind a chimney.
"Don't waste my time boy! Don't make me kill you!" Kenny shouted.
I readied my swords but when I got out, he was gone. I did not try to find him, I needed to reach Y/N. I raced to catch up with the cart. I heard a gunshot and another scream from afar. I recognised the voice of the woman I loved. Rage was throbbing through my body. They would pay for hurting her.
I used more gas and I finally caught up with the cart. Y/N was laying next to Eren and Historia. Her eyes were closed, her left shoulder and leg were bleeding. The sight of her being hurt made my blood boil.
"GET THEM NOW!" I yelled at my squad.
I got into a furry and killed all the soldiers I encountered. I needed to get her back. I needed Eren's blood to heal her. They couldn't take her away from me. Not again.
Armin and Jean reached the cart. But they were attacked by more enemies. A woman was about to kill Jean, who was too stunned to move. Thankfully, Armin pulled the trigger first and saved his friend in extremis.
There were too many soldiers for us to fight. The two boys would get killed if they didn't exit the cart. Sasha and Mikasa grabbed Armin and Jean and got them off before they would get shot.
Despite our efforts, we lost Eren, Historia and Y/N. I landed on the ground and breathed heavily. I witnessed, powerless, the woman I loved being taken away from me.
"Fuck! Fuck! FUCK!" I swore.
Mikasa landed next to me, completely distraught.
"EREN!" she screamed.
She tried to pursue them but I stopped her, it was too late.
"Don't do it! Fall back! It's too dangerous!
Y/N's POV
I slowly opened my eyes. I felt groggy and my head hurt a bit. I was seated and tied to a chair in a small room. I coughed a bit and took a good look at my body. My previous wounds had disappeared which meant that my abductors knew about the effects of Eren's blood on me.
I wondered where I was. There was a window in the room. It was nighttime. And from what I could see through the glass, I was in what appeared to be a farm.
I was looking at my feet which were also tied and tried to think of something, anything, to get out of there. But my train of thoughts got interrupted when the door of the room opened and footsteps approached me. I was still looking down.
"Good, you're awake. It's been a long time, kiddo."
I gasped when I heard that familiar voice. The voice of a dead man. I never thought I would hear this tone again. I slowly lifted my head. My eyes widened when I saw who was standing in front of me. I just couldn't believe it.
"Boss?"
